Legacy Five and the Fan Awards Showcase and Straw Poll

News from Scott Fowler, through the latest Legacy Five E-mail Newsletter:

You may have heard, the NQC and the Singing News are jointly producing a showcase on Saturday afternoon of NQC called the "Fan Awards Showcase & Straw Poll."

This event will feature performances from artists nominated in the major categories of the fan awards and will feature an interactive element that will allow NQC attendees to vote for their favorites in these categories in anticipation of the actual Fan Awards being given later in September. The straw poll winners will be announced during the showcase and released to the media. There will no doubt be quite a bit of buzz and excitement surrounding the showcase and straw poll. We are happy to be nominated in the following categories:

Traditional Quartet
Lead Singer
Bass Singer
Musician
Album
Song of the Year

Here's how you can participate! ...

NQC and Singing News have decided to expand the interactive participation a bit. In addition to NQC attendees being able to vote, Facebook users can participate too!!! Those who "Like" the NQC Facebook fan page will be able to register votes for the straw poll. Legacy Five would be thrilled if you would participate in the straw poll! This is done by simply going to the NQC fan page on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/NQConline) and "Like" the page sometime between now and the start of NQC. During NQC week, a link will be published on the NQC Facebook fan page that will allow you to register a vote in the straw poll. Rest assured the survey mechanism prevents multiple entries by the same person. This should be a lot of fun!

Thank you for taking the time to participate in this inaugural event and voting for your favorites in the straw poll. We look forward to seeing the results!

Until Next Time,
Scott

Gerald Wolfe Prayer Request

From Greater Vision's Email Newsletter:

If it comes to your mind, please remember to pray for us. After our Sunday Morning Worship Service, the bus will roll toward Tennessee, and I will fly from Dallas to Atlanta to prepare for my surgery on Monday. Right now, I'm scheduled to go "under the knife" at 11am (Eastern), so your prayers around that time would be very much appreciated. Pray for my Doctor, Dave Edwards, and the other staff that will be involved. I expect everything to go well. I'm certain the actual surgery won't be as un-nerving as the pre-surgery steroids I've been taking this week! LOL If you're interested, you can get up-to-the-minute updates via text message, by "following" Greater Vision on Twitter. If you missed last week's Update, and would like more information about my surgery, you can check out my personal "blog" by clicking here. Thanks for all the very kind emails and concern. All is well!

As always, Rodney, Chris, and Chad join me in thanking you for your prayers and your friendship. You are very important to us!

GO FISH BRINGS ‘MINIVAN MUSIC JAM’ TO SIOUX FALLS ARENA AUGUST 3

SIOUX FALLS, SD— Acclaimed family entertainers Go Fish are slated to present the first-of-its-kind “Minivan Music Jam” August 3 at 6 pm at the Sioux Falls Arena. Created for the entire family, the free event will feature Go Fish, along with special guest Denver & The Mile High Orchestra, as well as emcee Dave The Horn Guy.

The “Minivan Music Jam” is sponsored by Sioux Falls’ Crossroads Book & Music and Life 96.5. Doors open at 4:30 pm for general admission seating.

"Our goal is to put on the coolest rock and roll show for families that has ever been produced,” said Go Fish’s Jamie Statema. “Along with that, we have a message that every family in America needs to hear, which is why we have decided to make this a free event."

"This is a brand new concept for us, and we chose Sioux Falls because it's a city that has been supportive of the Go Fish guys from the very beginning,” Statema continues. “We couldn't think of a more appropriate place to launch the very first ‘Minivan Music Jam!’"

Since the release of their 2003 children’s music debut, Splash, Go Fish’s Jamie Statema, Jason Folkmann and Andy Selness have been committed to making “great music for kids that won’t drive parents bonkers.” Their live performances attract sell-out crowds around the country, and Go Fish has been covered by such national media as NBC’s “TODAY,” American Profile and Focus on the Family Magazine, among other outlets. A fan-produced video of the group’s popular song, “Christmas With A Capital ‘C’” (featuring comedian Brad Stine), has been viewed on YouTube more than 17 million times.

In addition, the group’s “Kickin’ It Old School” and “Backstage With The Bible” Vacation Bible School curriculums have been used by thousands of churches in the United States and Canada.

Christian music’s premier Big Band, Denver & The Mile High Orchestra has performed extensively around the world, including at events in conjunction with two Olympic Games. In 2007, the group earned a third-place finish on the FOX TV series “The Next Great American Band.” Formed by Denver Bierman at Nashville’s Belmont University in 1999, Denver & The Mile High Orchestra’s previous recordings include Good To Go, Timeless Christmas, Stand, and the band’s 2000 debut, Act The Scat. Ernie Haase & Signature Sound Come to Steelville

ERNIE HAASE & SIGNATURE SOUND QUARTET COMING TO
MERAMEC MUSIC THEATRE THURSDAY NIGHT, JUNE 23

Combining 21st century ideas with the timeless quality of great quartets from the 1950s, Grammy-nominated Ernie Haase & Signature Sound has broken the traditional mold of gospel quartets. Their unconventional approach to communicating the Good News with groundbreaking originality has blazed a trail that will go down in gospel music history.

The group’s founder and leader, Ernie Haase, was a long-time member of the famous Cathedral Quartet, headed by the late George Younce. Ernie’s roots are deeply planted in the rich legacy of music that is both meaningful and thoroughly entertaining. After the Cathedrals bid farewell to their five-decade run in the music industry, Ernie’s passion for gospel music led him to a new beginning.

In 2003, he gathered a group of like-minded men who share his love for God, great harmonies, time-honored songs and energetic performances…and together, they have become one of the most influential forces in southern gospel music. Inspired by their heroes, loved by their audiences and blessed by the Lord beyond their dreams. Ernie (tenor), Devin McGlamery (lead), Doug Anderson (baritone), and Ian Owens (bass) perform more than 100 solo shows yearly in North America and abroad.

The groups first DVD release soared to the top of Billboard Magazine’s Music Video Chart and simultaneously topped the Contemporary Christian Music Video Chart. That same DVD achieved Gold sales status, and the project’s accompanying audio release topped both the CCM and Southern Gospel Audio Charts simultaneously at No. 1.

In 2008, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound won Gospel Music Association Dove Awards for Southern Gospel Recording Song of the Year and Southern Gospel Album of the Year for “Get Away Jordan.” The “Jordan” album has also been certified Gold. In 2009, they won another Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year Dove Award for “Reason Enough” from their “Dream On” album.

Released in the fall of 2008, the “Dream On” DVD debuted at No. 1 on the Contemporary Christian Music Video Chart and at No. 3 on the Billboard Music Video Chart. The “Dream On” CD launched at No. 1 on the Southern Gospel Music Chart. “Dream On” was nominated for a 2010 Grammy in the category of “Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album.”

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound’ success continues with each new release, but perhaps their most rewarding achievement is the new generation of gospel music lovers emerging across the globe. The group’s contagious energy spreads through entertaining performances packed with truth and overflowing with a joyful spirit of gratitude…bringing listeners around the world their refreshing approach to gospel classics and new material that is uniquely Signature Sound.

They travel with a pianist, drummer and two guitar players. Don’t miss this exciting group of guys coming to Meramec Music Theatre, Thursday evening, June 23 at 7:00 P.M. Call 573-775-5999 for tickets in advance. They will be performing a Cathedrals Influenced concert.

Single & Parenting: New Church-Based Solution for Effective Single-Parent Ministry

Single & Parenting: New Church-Based Solution for Effective Single-Parent Ministry
Churches are reaching out to single parents with the innovative curriculum Single & Parenting. The results? Care, outreach and evangelism in the community. Single & Parenting was developed by Church Initiative, the creator of DivorceCare and GriefShare.
WAKE FOREST, N.C., June 21, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Churches worldwide are now launching Single & Parenting, the innovative curriculum for ministry to single parents. The all-new 13-week, video-based curriculum is designed to be a lay-led ministry for single parents from all backgrounds, including divorced, widowed and never married.

This excellent outreach tool equips local churches to minister to the exploding single-parent population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau and the Pew Research Center, 26 percent of all children currently live in single-parent homes, and 41 percent of all children born this year will be to single mothers.

"In ever-increasing numbers, single parents are seeking the help of local churches. Single & Parenting equips churches with a powerful strategy for offering hope to these parents and, by extension, their children," said Steve Grissom, founder of Church Initiative.

The Single & Parenting curriculum is designed with three primary components: video, group discussion and between-session workbook exercises (to help group members apply the material in the days between sessions). The videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format with dramatizations and single-parenting technique demonstrations. They also feature more than 35 leading single-parent experts, including Dr. Paul David Tripp, H. Norman Wright, Elyse Fitzpatrick, Rev. Dwight McKissic Sr., Dr. Ed Welch, Dave Ramsey, Stephen Viars, Sandra Aldrich, Dr. Larry Mercer, Dr. Thelma Wells and Eduardo Salazar.

Single & Parenting can assist churches in ministering to single parents within the church, but is also designed to serve as an outreach tool to minister to single parents throughout a church's community.

"Make sure the leaders of [your] church are aware of this opportunity because it's a great outreach for ... any churches in the community or any city, it doesn't matter how big or how small," said Brad Goad, Singles Minister at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.

For more information about Single & Parenting, visit www.SingleandParenting.org/ministry.

Single & Parenting is offered by Church Initiative, the ministry that created DivorceCare, DivorceCare for Kids and GriefShare

CHRISTIAN RECORDING ARTIST DAVID L COOK TAKES HOME HIS 7TH EMMY AWARD

WHEN IT COMES TO AWARDS, DAVID L COOK IS NO STRANGER TO STANDING ON THE PODIUM MAKING AN ACCEPTANCE SPEECH.
Saturday, June 18th was no exception. David and his business partners Chris Nowels and John Errington took home the Emmy for Outstanding Excellence in a Live Event Lighting. The Emmys were a star studded event that included the likes of business mogul, Ted Turner. The irony to Turner’s appearance at the awards this year was that his son Rhett was nominated against David for Outstanding Excellence in a Live Event Audio. Turner took home the Emmy for that category.

Being the most decorated artist in the field of Christian Country music, David says he is humbled by the honor and is eager to move onto his next project. In fact, that project is right around the corner. On November 11th and 12th the Artists Music guild will be hosting its first convention at the former Heritage USA (PTL) complex which used to house the Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker show. David is the Executive Board President of the Guild and says he is looking forward to having all of the artists together in one place.

David was nominated for a total of three Emmys this year. Last year David took the Emmy home for Outstanding Excellence for Arranging/Composing/Performance of a Television Theme Song and the year before that he scored the Emmy for Outstanding Excellence in a Television Audio/Score for the PBS series New South Crossings.

David who was the baby of the Cook Family Singers (ret 1980) has been a fixture in Christian music since the age of five. He holds the record of being the number one selling Christian Country artist of all time. He has been inducted into three Halls of Fame (International Country Gospel Music Association, Country Gospel Music Association and The World Christian Music Awards) and received the Dove Award nomination in 1999 for Christian Country Album of the Year. He has been nominated 17 times for the Emmys and has taken seven of them home.

Ivan Parker Releases New CD "Joyride"

Notes on Joyride from Crossroads Music and Ivan Parker:

From the instant you hit the on ramp at the title track “Joyride” till you exit at “Author and Finisher,” this trip down I-10 (Ivan Parker, 10 songs) will have your heart dancing to the rhythms and the rhymes that are intersected throughout a life lived for Christ.

Every song is a picture perfect snapshot of truth and a thirst quencher for the world-weary soul, in each season and along every stretch of life’s road.

“Joyride” talks about the lighter times, “Mary’s Wish,” the heart-heavy moments of anguish. “Who I Am Ain’t Who I Was” is a mellow proclamation of the victory we have in Jesus, while “Temporary Goodbye” reminds us the bitter cup of sorrow dipped from death’s dark well is only for a moment.

A joyride is something we do for fun, every once in a long while. The hectic schedules of our lives do not seem to give us that luxury much anymore. When this theme started coming together, I thought, “Why not put on a pair of comfortable jeans, a leather jacket, and some good Jesus riding music and hit the road?”
So for the next few minutes, take a break from the twists and turns of life and take a look at them from the rear-view mirror. Oh, and please do not forget your sunglasses, ‘cause the Son is bright where we will be riding! - Ivan

Our Company, Faith Media, is about to launch its radio broadcast division, Toronto Gospel Station, and is currently in the process of submitting an application to bid for the upcoming 88.1 FM band. Beyond The Ashes Appears On The Grand Ole Opry Stage During CMA Week

Nashville, TN (June 15, 2011) – Dynamic vocal trio, Beyond The Ashes, appeared on the Grand Ole Opry Stage this past Sunday, June 12th, 2011, during CMA Week, in Nashville, TN. The award-winning trio was a hit with Opry stars and fans alike.

They appeared as a part of a great line up of artists on the 32nd Annual "Sunday Mornin' Country" at the Grand Ole Opry. Their performance was stellar and had the audience and the other participants buzzing about their incredible talent. Some of the others who shared the stage with Beyond The Ashes that day were Linda Davis, Marty Raybon, Roy Clark, George Hamilton IV, Lulu Roman, T. Graham Brown, and others.

Grammy winning vocalist and co-host for the event, Linda Davis, summed up her feelings and the experience of those around her this way. "The Saturday rehearsal for Sunday Morning Country was held in the Nashville Musicians Union. Those present when the boys of Beyond The Ashes arrived were myself, a few production people, the 7 piece band, and 3 background vocalists. We all had a lot going on. It was 9:00am and, at a casual rehearsal like this, most artists just go through the motions so they can get in and out and move on with their day.” Davis continued, “Normally the band reads the chart, plays the tune, and gears up for the next act. Well, not this particular morning! When Beyond the Ashes stepped up to their mics the preoccupied MCCF worker bees, as well as the musicians, totally stopped in their tracks! The guys sang "Peace in the Valley" as if they were in front of 20,000 people. We were so moved by their performance. The Holy Spirit was all over that little room and everyone there knew it. The next day, on the Opry stage, their actual show was flawless! The crowd at the Grand Ole Opry House felt the spirit there, as well. I was just lucky enough to get a
little taste of what it'll sound like in heaven...two days in a row!"

Appearing along with Beyond The Ashes were Marty Raybon, Roy Clark, George Hamilton IV, Lulu Roman, T. Graham Brown, Linda Davis and others.

Downhere to Release New Album on Centricity Music

MULTI-AWARD WINNING DOWNHERE TO RELEASE LATEST STUDIO PROJECT ON THE ALTAR OF LOVE AUGUST 23RD ON CENTRICITY MUSIC

First Single “Let Me Rediscover You” Has Received 31 Radio Adds
And Debuts On The Radio Charts

Nashville, TN (June 15, 2011) ----- One of Christian music’s premiere bands, Downhere, is scheduled to release their eagerly anticipated new studio album, On The Altar Of Love, August 23, 2011 on Centricity Music. The album once again teams the group with Grammy and Dove award-winning producer Mark Hiemermann (Michael W. Smith, Tait, Stacie Orrico). The new CD is a pop-driven project that offers a positive outlook for our future, while maintaining the integrity and artistry of Downhere. All songs on the CD were written by Jason Germain and Marc Martel.

Let Me Rediscover You, the first single from the album, was written by Marc Martel two weeks before Downhere entered the recording studio for On The Altar Of Love. The song is already resonating with listeners and radio programmers, as it’s New & Active at AC Monitor (#3) and at #28 on AC Indicator. Thirty one radio stations are currently playing the song including; KSBJ/ Houston, WCIE/Tampa, Sarasota, FL, WBSN / New Orleans, LA, New Life Media, WBFJ / Winston-Salem, NC, KSGN / Riverside, CA.

On The Altar Of Love is being described as one of the most “pop-friendly” albums that Downhere has recorded to date, with heartfelt lyrics that are a return to the core of Christianity. The CD kicks-off with Only The Beginning that focuses on how our Christian walk of new life and continual mysteries always feels like a new beginning, while the hard rocking Seek describes how God searches for us “like a kid with a crush” in order to make us whole, and the title track says to lay down your possessions and obsessions. Love will ask of you more than treasure/When you’re willing to trust/Blessing far outweighs the loss/When you lay it all at the altar of love.

“On the Altar of Love is really a proclamation of faith,” explains band member Jason Germain. “It’s an encouragement to continue on regardless of circumstance, to continue this journey with joy and celebration, because we have a promise. We know where the journey ends. And we know that we’re not alone as we make our way. We have the companionship of Christ, and we have this vast family of brothers and sisters, and we have this great cloud of witnesses that have gone before us, who are cheering us on. So we want to cast aside the distractions, return to what is essential, and spend ourselves completely in response to the love we’ve been given.”

About Downhere
During their illustrious eleven-year career, Downhere has garnered 11 Covenant Awards, 3 Juno Awards and a Dove Award for Modern Rock Recorded Song of the Year. Fans and radio continue to keep their singles at the top of the charts with “Here I Am” and “Hope Is Rising” peaking at #5 and #17 on the AC charts, while “My Last Amen” peaked at #5 on the CHR charts. All of the songs are from Downhere’s previous project Ending Is Beginning that media heralded as their strongest studio album at that time.
Downhere released their first Christmas project in 2009, based on the enormous success of “How Many Kings” that peaked at #4 on the charts. While Downhere was songwriting for On The Altar Of Love, Centricity Music released Two At A Time that featured 9-B sides and 2 brand new songs, including their last single, “You’re Not Alone.” For more information on Downhere please visit their website, www.downhere.com or www.myspace.com/downhere.

ReWind Wednesdays: Southern Gospel Artists Talk About Their Great Dads

Great Dads!

Fathers have an incredible influence over our lives and this month we want to honor the great Dads of Southern Gospel artists and fans. The Scriptures tell us to “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” We hope you enjoy this article and find some way to honor your great Dad this month.

“He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.” This quote, attributed to Clarence Budington Kelland, has been repeated thousands of times but the truth is obvious to those who have been blessed with loving, Godly fathers. Karen Peck, soprano with Karen Peck and New River, had a great Dad who lived his testimony.

“My dad was a great Christian man who left behind a wonderful legacy,” says Karen. “He was not a man with a lot of words. He observed things then would give his opinion. Also, he was a man of his word. He was always very open and honest. He has been in Heaven since February 1993. I miss him terribly. Heaven is sweeter because Daddy is there!”

Steve French, baritone of the popular quartet, The Kingdom Heirs, grew up in a Christian home and inherited a wonderful sense of humor from his father. Steve says, “My dad is not only the greatest dad on the planet, he is also the greatest man I have ever known. He is 75 and going strong!!!”

Tom Stoner, The Royalaires Quartet: “My Dad is greater than great. When I was eleven months old in 1950 I contracted polio. My family was not rich by any means. Dad was in the Army and Mom had a full-time job taking care of me at home. I had to learn how to walk all over again at least 15 times. When Dad got out of the army he worked at an auto dealership as a mechanic and later on in the parts department as Assistant Manager. I went to school braces and all, and not one time did my Dad let me get by with ‘I can’t do that’, when he knew with a little more effort I could. Dad and Mom made sure I had my braces and shoes even when they made just $45 a week. They made sure I had music lessons at a very young age, and my great Dad even co-signed for me to get my now 42 year old 335 Cherry Red Gibson guitar that has paid for itself at least a thousand times. Yep, my Dad even whipped me when I needed it!”

What makes a Father a “Great Dad”? Elaine Harcourt says, “I think a great dad is one who spends time with his kids even when he's tired. Kids remember things like that. I know I did.”

Barry Flint of Old Time Christian Radio, agrees. “I'm the father of a teenage son, who will be a high school senior next school year. He has made his mother and I very proud of him. He has won several academic and character awards at the Christian school he attends. If I had to try to point to one thing that I think makes a difference in a child, it is time. So many of us are so busy today, I'm afraid it's easy to let time get away. Certainly church and Christian influences are important. But I believe spending time with your kids and letting them know that you love them and are there for them is crucial. At the same time, my own father is having some real health issues at this stage of his life, and it is painful to see him in this condition. Another reason that I think as parents and children of parents, we need to cherish the time that we have and make the most of it.”

David Hill of the David Hill Trio, says, “I have two children that I adore. Mason is nine (10 years this coming July) and Eliana is four. As I sit here typing this I can't help but think that I can't even scratch the surface of understanding the Father's love for us. But I have been able to get a tiny glimpse of what His love must be like. The pride you feel when your children accomplish a tough task. The joy you experience when they want to spend time with you. The absolute bliss when they run to hug you and welcome you home. It makes me want to love Him more, you know? I love my babies, and that makes me thankful to know that He loves me even more. Happy Father's Day...Dad.”

“My dad passed away at the age of 49, when I was thirteen,” says soloist Betty J. Davis. “I remember his arms. He had big arms with lots of hair on them; arms that made you feel secure. He was a firefighter for Luke Air Force Base where he would work for twenty-four hours and then would be off for twenty-four hours. He was a quite man, but loved his family and the Lord. I don't think you would want to mess with any of his children.”

Betty continues, “He would tease me by telling me he had no money, when I would ask for a dime. Back in those days all you needed was a dime! He would jingle his change in his pocket, only to hand it over to me when I felt I was getting nowhere with my request. The few years I had with my dad left a lasting moment in time for me. He was truly loved and is missed, but praise the Lord one of these days there will be a great reunion and we will see our loved ones again.”

The Concords’ Doug Miller is the father of three young ladies. Doug says, “A great Dad is one who takes time to be there for his children, to nurture, to lead, to pray, to be strong. He’s a man with Christ-like spirit, who shows his love in so many ways.”

Rob Patz, owner of Coastal Media Group and host of The Southern Styles Show, is a Pastor’s kid who had a terrific Father. Rob says, “What made my Dad a great Dad was that he instilled beliefs in me that I carry today. He taught me that when you work hard for the Lord, though you might not see your reward here, you will gain a reward in Heaven. He also taught me to be true to myself and who I am, and to what the Lord would want me to do.”

We hope you have enjoyed these thoughts from our friends in Southern Gospel music. Please take time this month to thank your Heavenly Father for your earthly Dad. Happy Father’s Day!

What Does Dad Want? Try Honor, Says Author Robert Barriger

Honor is the Father's Day Gift That Every Dad Values
DALLAS, June 14, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Finding the perfect Father's Day gift doesn't have to be expensive. All it takes is some thought and appreciation to give Dad the most valuable gift of all, honor.

"Honor and respect are more important than any tie or gadget to a man," explains author Robert Barriger. "Most dads don't care about getting stuff; they would rather just have a great meal and hang out." In the recent release, Honour Found, Experiencing the Power of the Honour Principle and How it Can Add Significance to Your Life, Pastor Robert Barriger explores the value of honor in a marriage, relationship or business.

Honor is a foundational principal of every culture. The word honour originates from the word esteem, meaning to respect and value. In his new book, Honour Found, Barriger explores the meaning of "Honour" through stories and inspiring examples of leaders and heroes from American Military history and the bible.

"To give and to receive honor is a basic human need. Dads need respect and to hear thank you," explains Barriger. "To dishonor means to 'take lightly' which is what happens when we discount a sacrifice that is been made on our behalf."

So how can we honor dad? Barriger explains, "Honor begins with thoughtfulness and is expressed through genuine appreciation. The best way to give the gift of honor is by spending time on something that is meaningful to them." Barriger suggests:
Write Dad a letter telling him about a trip, memory or adventure you'll never forget.

Make a collection of pictures or stories of his life or of the kids. Photo viewers are great.

Ask him to tell you about the people or times in his life that impacted him.

Do something together that he enjoys - fishing, watching a ballgame, driving.

Create a new memory -- go to a game, take a trip, visit a childhood location.

Fixing a favorite meal or barbeque is always a plus, especially when Dad has the option to help.

Help him out -- with the yard, car, or that computer upgrade.

Take the time to say thanks for ________; remember, its sincerity not word count that matters.
"Even if your dad hasn't been involved in your life, it's never too late to create a memory." Barriger concludes. "Honor is the best way to show appreciation. True honor comes from the heart and is a gift of great value."

Honour Found, Experiencing the Power of the Honour Principle and How it Can Add Significance to Your Life is published by Harrison House and available in all stores May 2011. For more information visit www.HonourFound.com.

David C Cook Acquires Integrity Music From Integrity Media Inc.

Dallas, Ft. Worth, TX—Effective June 1, 2011, David C Cook and Integrity Media reached an agreement whereby Integrity Music became part of the David C Cook family. The decision to acquire Integrity Music was motivated specifically by David C Cook’s desire to expand its global impact in the area of worship. Per the agreement, David C Cook has acquired only those assets specific to Integrity Music. Integrity Media, based in Mobile, AL will still exist consisting of Integrity Direct, Integrity Worship Institute, and the international companies in the UK, South Africa and Singapore. Industry veteran C. Ryan Dunham, formerly David C Cook’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, will serve as president of Integrity Music, effective immediately.

“At David C Cook we are committed to the Great Commission. Our mission is to ‘Equip the Church with Christ-centered resources for making and teaching disciples who obediently transform today’s generations.’ We are delighted to have Integrity Music join the David C Cook family in serving the body of Christ,” states Cris Doornbos, CEO of David C Cook.

“The acquisition of Integrity Music makes sense from both a ministry as well as a business standpoint. Both organizations are widely respected for their international reach and their worship music catalogs,” states Ryan Dunham, Integrity Music president. “David C Cook is no newcomer to the worship music ministry. In 1993 Cook acquired Kingsway, a worship music company in Eastbourne, England, and partnered with EMI Christian Music Group to produce the Thank You Music song catalog. Kingsway artists include Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Brenton Brown, The City Harmonic, and many others whose original songs are shaping the way a world-wide generation of Christians experiences worship,” continues Dunham.

Integrity Music has profoundly influenced the worship music culture over the past 24 years. “Cris Doornbos and I share a deep passion for serving the global church and for the role worship music plays in making disciples around the world,” says Integrity co-founder and CEO Michael Coleman. “As Integrity prepares to celebrate 25 years in ministry, I look forward to seeing the expanding impact of Integrity songs and products around the world.”

The acquisition benefits David C Cook by adding an even greater variety of worship titles to the organization’s current offering. It will also benefit Integrity worship artists and writers by providing a fresh perspective and an ownership structure as part of a nonprofit with an expanding realm of influence. Most importantly, it will provide the global church more options than ever for meaningful worship.

“I am honored that Michael Coleman, a man whom I highly respect and who has meant so much to the worship music movement, has chosen to entrust us with Integrity Music’s worship catalog,” Doornbos says. “Our vision for Integrity Music songs and recordings is to see them sung by people in their native languages in churches all over the world.”

Integrity Music will operate independently within David C Cook as a Strategic Ministry Unit and be relocated to the company headquarters in Colorado Springs after a transition period of 3 months. Distribution of Integrity Music products in the U.S. will continue through Provident-Integrity Distribution and Columbia and Sony Music Distribution.

Since 1875, David C Cook continues to be a leading nonprofit global resource provider serving the Church with life transforming materials. Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Co, with offices in Elgin, Illinois, Paris, Ontario, Canada, and Eastbourne, UK, David C Cook resources are published in over 150 languages, distributed in more than 80 countries, and sold worldwide. The Kingsway music division produces over 30% of the top 500 praise and worship songs sung around the world. For more information, visit www.davidccook.com.
