Rene' Jones Performs At MCCF Benefit Concert
Nashville, TN (February 26, 2013) Rene' Jones was among the Featured Performers at a fundraiser for the Music City Christian Fellowship. For the past 33 years, MCCF has sponsored a gospel program called Sunday Mornin’ Country which is held on the last day of the CMA Music Festival (formerly known as Fan Fair). It is the longest running named Gospel event connected with the CMA Music Festival. This year will be the 34th Anniversary of Sunday Mornin’ Country. It is going to be held on Sunday, June 12 at 2:30 p.m. at the newly renovated Grand Ole Opry House and will be hosted by Linda Davis and George Hamilton IV.
In June 1980, a group of Country Music artists and musicians wanted to honor God with the talents He had given them by sharing their songs and personal stories of faith. They came together in prayer and fellowship. They decided to have "A singin', prayin' get-together" for the Country Music fans during the annual Country Music Fan Fair celebration (currently known as CMA Music Festival). Some 40-50 singers, musicians, writers, producers, promoters, etc. were involved in the first "Sunday Mornin' Country.”® The event was so well received that the group organized to do similar ministries all year long.
Rene' stated “It is such a privilege to be associated with such a prestigious group of Country singers who are Christian. It is important to let our light shine no matter where we are singing. The Country Music fans love Christian Music and love to hear their favorite Country singers singing songs with a Christian message.”
Performing along with Rene' were Grand Ole Opry star Linda Davis, The Babcocks, Mark Thomas, and Judy Gilbert.

About Rene Jones
"The Christian Cowboy"
Born in "L.A." (in this case, "Lower Ashton"), a small community on the outskirts of Walterboro, South Carolina, Rene' was raised singing in the church. His family was involved in farming, and he spent many hours singing while riding the tractors and working the land. In his teens, Rene' joined the gospel group The Beacons, and it was this background that gave Rene' his vibrant and smooth voice of today. He sings with passion, putting his heart, body and soul into his music.
After The Beacons, Rene' decided to try his hand at country music. He performed in country clubs, variety shows, festivals, parades, and was a featured entertainer at the 1987 March of Dimes Telerama broadcast from Charleston, South Carolina. In 1992, after having the pleasure of performing in sold-out concerts with Linda Davis and Lang Scott, Rene'and his wife moved to Nashville and embarked on a series of tours across Eastern United States. Rene's third album brought him within inches of a record deal. However, at the last minute, the record executives decided Rene' was too country and signed their second choice artist for the deal. Imagine being too country for country music.
In 2003, Rene' felt the Lord calling him back to his roots of gospel music. Rene's first Christian Country single was released to radio in March, 2005 by GodsChild Records. Since then, Rene' has had several songs to chart in the Top 10 of the Christian Country and Country Gospel charts. His single Rockin' On The Front Porch went to #1 in January, 2009. He has appeared in Music City News, Power Source and Christian Voice magazines. He and his wife have made several television appearances including TCT Network and Touching the World Ministries.
Rene' was bestowed the honor of receiving the 2007, 2009, & 2011 Male Vocalist of the Year Awards, the 2008 Soloist of the Year Award, and the prestigious 2009 & 2010 Christian Country Crown Jewel Awards from the United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians. He won the 2012 Video of the Year Award from the International Country Gospel Music Association for the song Bible By Her Bed.
Rene' has been called by God to share the gospel through music. His mission is to be a disciple, go wherever God opens the doors, and share Christ's message of love and redemption.

Eric & Laura Ollis Team with Touch The World Ministries
Morganton, NC - In late 2011, long-time Southern Gospel pianist Eric Ollis announced plans to embark upon a family ministry with his wife, Laura and sons, Michael and Payton. Eric had spent 20 years playing piano with The Dixie Melody Boys and most recently, The Whisnants, yet felt the call to spend more time with his wife of 18 years, Laura, and their two sons. At the time, Eric recalls, “This was a major step for us, but God ordained this move, and He has been faithful and blessed us tremendously.”
Many opportunities have been afforded to the couple and God has used their unique ministry in great ways. “It’s been amazing to see how God has opened doors and used our family in ways we never imagined,” Laura shares. “We are so grateful for these opportunities and look forward to what God has in store for the future. We don’t know what that is, but we are simply walking through doors He opens.”
One of those “doors” is their recent partnership with Touch The World Ministries, a private, non-profit organization, founded by Rev Homer Murdock, Jr. The organization is dedicated to identifying, recruiting, training, equipping and leading Christian mission teams to assist people across the world who are in need of spiritual and physical aid. Touch The World Ministries, based in Morganton, NC, supports missionaries around the world in such countries as Haiti, Kenya, Romania, Liberia and India. Since organizing in 1999, Touch The World Ministries has sent mission teams to 13 countries, including Pakistan, El Salvador, Uganda, Vietnam and the Ukraine. “This organization has a true heart for changing lives all across the world, and we are honored to partner with them. We are looking forward to the opportunities of joining them in taking the Gospel to the world,” Eric says. “We are very excited about the directlon we believe God is taking our ministry and our family. He is opening so many doors. It’s mind blowing, to be honest, to look back and see what He has done and how He has blessed over the past year. We can’t wait to see what He has in store.”
Another important aspect of Touch The World Ministries that the Ollis family is extremely excited about it the child sponsorship program offered by TTW. Through the program, individuals and other families can sponsor a child and cover the basic needs of children across the world. “There are many great organizations that assist children in need,” Eric explains, “however, we are greatly impressed by the involvement Touch The World provides to children and the fact that 90% of the monthly contribution goes directly to the child. Those who attend our events can pick up a packet and learn more information about the sponsorship program or visit the TTW website for complete information. It’s an awesome opportunity.”
The Ollis’ will be planning a trip in the very near future with Touch The World Ministries that will take them overseas. Throughout the Spring they are also sharing their ministry in churches and conferences. Scheduling information, as well as additional information regarding the couple’s ministry, Mountain Ridge Ministries, is available online at www.mountainridgeministries.com. Additional information regarding Touch The World Ministries is available at www.touchtheworldministries.com.

Mercy's Well and Compassion International: Buy A Tent For Ashley In Haiti
From Mercy's Well email newsletter of February 21, 2013:
Occasionally, we make mistakes...actually we make them quite often! But...we wanted to take a moment and correct some information from our newsletter earlier this morning.
In talking about our involvement with Compassion International and our recent missions trip to Haiti, we reported that the goal had been met to purchase a new tent for Ashlee (our newly sponsored child in Haiti) and her family. That information is INCORRECT, so let me clarify.
After sharing about our trip, some wonderful friends in Florida felt led to collect money from their Sunday School class to purchase three water filtration systems through Compassion's Water Of Life program. On a separate note, Greg mentioned on Facebook after our trip of a need for a tent for Ashlee's family.
We ARE still accepting donations for the "tent" project for her family and we are over half way to our goal. If you wish to help, there's still time. We will be making a donation through Compassion for this family and 100% of the money received will be used to purchase the tent and make repairs. No administrative costs are taken out of these type gifts with Compassion. If you wish to help, you can send a donation through PayPal to: brad@mercyswell.com
Or you can mail a check to:
Mercy's Well
5603-B West Friendly Ave., PMB 272
Greensboro, NC 27410
Make checks payable to Mercy's Well (include "ASHLEE" in the memo line) and we will be sending one payment directly to Compassion. This is the only way we can make sure these dollars go directly to our newly sponsored child and her family. For peace of mind and transparency, we will provide each donor with a detailed statement of how their money was used.
We apologize for any confusion. Hopefully we will see each of you at a concert or worship service very soon!
Blessings,
Brad Strider

Mercy's Well News
From Mercy's Well email newsletter of February 21, 2013:
We had some great services in NC and TN last weekend, and wanted to thank those of you who were able to come out and support us! Pastor Toby, Drew, and Mike from Enon Baptist Church made us feel right at home. We enjoyed a nice, warm breakfast and fellowship around the table before the morning service - a great way to start the day! We ended the evening at the church of our good friend, Brian Franklin. This was our first visit to FBC Mountain City, TN but hopefully not out last. We got Pastor Ricky up on the stage to sign with us, so we think that left a pretty good impression on him. He's one of us now!
One of the great opportunities we had while in Haiti was the privilege of sponsoring another child through our ministry - Ashlee. We met Ashlee and her family, and were able to spend just a few minutes talking with them about life. Ashlee's mother mentioned that, as a result of the earthquake in 2010, one of her tents (used for cooking, cleaning, etc.) had been severely damaged, and that she was trying to save their money to buy a new one. After this meeting with Ashlee's family, we spoke with some of the Compassion Int'l Directors who were with us, and inquired about what it would take to get Ashlee's family a new tent. A monetary goal was set, and we casually mentioned this idea to some dear friends of ours in Florida. The next week, upon our return to the States, we got a call from this couple saying they felt a burden to help, presented this need to their Sunday School class, and raised enough money - on the spot - to purchase a new tent for Ashlee and her family! This is so exciting for us! This is what being the hands and feet of Jesus is all about! Let this be an encouragement to you today: God is still in the business of changing lives through people like me and you!
Our most recent radio release, "Beautiful, Terrible Cross" is making its way onto more and more radio playlists across the country, so keep calling and requesting it - hopefully you will hear it on your station TODAY!
Have a blessed week!

The follow-up to his GRAMMY®-winning, self-titled debut, this 11-song collection finds Crabb working with an all-star cast of producers including Jay DeMarcus (producer and member of country super group Rascal Flatts), Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe) and Wayne Haun (Celine Dion, Earl Scruggs), each of whom produced Crabb for the first time.
“This is a dream come true!” exclaims a wide-eyed, smiling Jason Crabb. “I mean--to get to go into the studio with these three producers and to have them make you better at what you do is unbelievable to me. All throughout the recording process I would find myself thinking, ‘Really? Is this happening? Am I getting to do this?’ This is a record I’ve been waiting to do my whole life, and I’ve never been more excited about a group of songs.”
That group of songs was written by some of the music industry’s most respected writers including Ronnie Freeman, Tony Wood, Sarah Hart, Marc Byrd, Jimmy Yeary, Sonya Isaacs Yeary, Connie Harrington, Mia Fieldes, Seth Mosley, Michael A. Mobley, Geron Davis and Barry Weeks among others. The recording found Crabb taking a bit of a different role inside the studio.
“I wanted to be hands off this time,” he recalls. “I’m usually involved directly or indirectly in the process, but this time I wanted to let people whom I respect guide me. The label and I discussed the song choices, of course, as well as what I wanted to say; but overall, I said, ‘I’m going to let you take the reins.’ I told all three of the producers, ‘I want to walk out of here feeling like I’ve run not just a half-marathon, but the whole thing. I wanted to be put to the test--to go to the mat, so to speak. And they pushed me! Whether it was ‘backing off’ on some things or ‘giving more’ on others, they pushed me.”
The result from this 17-time GMA DOVE Award winner is a body of work that finds Jason at the top of his game and making new friends along the way. “Working with Jason was just an absolute true joy,” describes Cash. “He’s one of my favorite people I’ve ever met. He’s such a genuine guy and so real and sincere; and that’s rare to find, particularly for someone who’s had such great success. I was absolutely blown away by how Jason was so vocally flexible...not only was he technically able to stretch vocally, but I feel like the sincerity in his voice was absolutely maintained, and I think that’s just a testament to his character. Whatever he’s singing—whatever is coming out of his mouth--it’s believable because he’s believable.”
Jay DeMarcus agrees, “As a producer, I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with some of the best singers ever; I would certainly put Jason on that list! It is such a joy to work with someone that is so talented and driven. We've had a blast working together, and I think he has stretched himself creatively to the point to where he even surprised himself. I cannot wait for people to hear this record!”
One of the songs that DeMarcus produced was “There’s Not a Crown,” a song previously recorded by Michael English and later by The Martins with English producing them. This new rendition brings the story full circle as it features guest appearances by English and Joyce Martin Sanders, of the Martins, who join Jason for an all-new version of this song.
Crabb’s voice has been heard on Christian AC radio in recent months surrounding “Let Mercy Hold You,” a song produced by Cash and written by Fieldes, Mosley and Alexa Willis, that has turned heads at this format. “What the Blood Is For,” produced by Haun, is a power ballad that includes a 40-piece orchestra and features an unmistakable vocal from Crabb indicative of the sound that has made him a household favorite. "What I've always loved about Jason's vocal performance is the passion you hear and feel from the first note of each song,” describes Haun. “You have no doubt that he really believes what he's singing. You can’t miss that powerful interpretation with this song."
The title cut is a favorite of Crabb because of his own family’s journey over the past two years when his wife, Shellye, suffered some health issues that led her to several specialists to seek advice before she was able to get back on her feet. Jason recalls what day-to-day life looked like for their family as he describes this song, “This was a hard road for us. There were days she couldn’t get out of bed, and I watched her struggle as she was having trouble being the wonderful mother that she is. It was difficult and heartbreaking. But then I watched her fight back. I watched what happens when love is stronger. I watched God move and her persevere. When I heard the lyric to ‘Love Is Stronger,’ I knew immediately this song was for us. It was like the writer knew our story.”
And that story continues to unfold as Crabb’s career continues to reach new heights. In 2012 he toured over 150 dates; released Together Again (Gaither Music Group) with The Crabb Family; appeared regularly internationally on tv; performed on Marie Osmond’s Hallmark Channel Show, “Marie”; prepared to make his film debut in the movie “Inspiration Pop”; contributed the theme song to the film “Finding Faith”; co-hosted the GMA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and appeared several times on FOX News Network. Crabb was able to participate in Nashville’s annual Bella Bash supporting The Angel Wings Foundation, Nashville’s annual The Bridge to Christmas event as well as a Christmas benefit concert alongside Sandi Patty in New York that benefited the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Love Is Stronger, exclusively distributed by EMI CMG Distribution, is currently available for pre-sale at www.JasonCrabb.com, iTunes, Amazon.com and at www.gaither.com. At LifeWay Christian Stores, consumers can purchase an advance “single CD sampler” and return to the store on March 12th to obtain the full release. The release will be positioned prominently in stores nationwide in the months ahead and will be featured on CTS, Family Net, FFE, GAC, Grace, Vision, RFD, TNN, TBN, Airtime, CTN, Gaither TV, The Walk TV (formerly Legacy), Miracle, TCT and TLN.

The Minister's Quartet Update
The Minister's Quartet Email Update for w/e 2/23/13
It has been quite a while since I last updated you about TMQ, so there is alot to tell you!
First, let's update our personnel!!
Brad Scott, who filled in for Larry Lambert when Larry experienced throat nodules last summer in Oklahoma, tendered his resignation effective December 31st, 2012. We accepted Brad's resignation, but asked him to stay until a replacement at tenor was found. Brad DID join us in Waldron, Indiana on January 12, 2013, as we had not found our replacement at that time.
Well, the tenor position has been filled!! We are pleased to announce that 27 year old Anthony Clough (pronounced Cluff), from New Castle, Indiana, has accepted our offer to sing tenor effective immediately. Anthony auditioned about 2 weeks ago and made his debut with us this past Sunday in Mier, Indiana at the Mier Community Church. Anthony is a very talented singer, and his tenor range is second to none! We are excited for you to hear him!
So, the present lineup on stage for The Minister's Quartet will be: Anthony Clough, tenor, Ken Frost, lead, Jerry 'JT' Tinkle, baritone, and Ron Pence, bass. Larry Lambert continues on with us as equipment manager, product manager, and occasional tenor singer and will continue to travel with us to most of our dates.
Next, I would like to fill you in on some news from the world of southern gospel music. Our current radio release, "Because He Loves Me", wWritten by former member Danny Burr, now sits at number 7 on WDFB radio stations top 35 chart!! We thank God for the progress up the chart this song has made, and are extremely excited to see what God has done with this song!!
Which brings us to the next bit of news!
The Minister's Quartet would like to announce that a recording session with our record company, Chapel Valley Studio, has been set for May 22nd and 23rd in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee. On those two dates we will be laying the music trax for our next Chapel Valley release, tentatively set to coincide with the National Quartet Convention in September. We already know that two songs written by current member Ken Frost, will appear on that project, along with some songs we are currently learning to comprise the rest of the musical lineup on the new project.
And finally, I would like to tell you that while we have been a little dormant lately, we are dormant no longer!! As previously mentioned, thus far in 2013 we have had just 2 gigs. January 12th we sang at Waldron, Indiana's United Methodist Church. Pastor Bill Clark has been wonderful to us everytime we have ever been there. He has now accepted a pastorate in Renssalear, Indiana and has moved on from Waldron.
And this past Sunday we sang at Mier Community Church, just 2 miles up the road from JT's house!!
Next up, schedule-wise, is a trip to the Wisonsin area. We will be in Wintrop Harbor, Illinois (which is just 5 miles from the Wisconsin border) on March 30th for a 7pm sing, and then on Sunday morning (Easter Sunday) we will be in Racine, Wisconsin! This will be our very first appearance in Wisconsin, so all you Badgers come see us!!
With our new set lineup we all feel this may be the most talented group to ever take the stage as The Minister's Quartet. We want to get the message of God's love and plan of salvation to as many people as possible in 2013 and we need your help.
If you know any contact numbers, names, or places that would like to have TMQ in 2013, please pass that information along to us. We are talking fairs, festivals, churches, special events, birthday parties, etc. where you think that our brand of music might fit in. We need names of contacts, phone numbers, email addresses, etc that we can call or write to.
We would like to see our calendar completely filled, so would you help us?
Until next time,
Keep looking up as you bow down to pray!
God bless each and every one of you.
Larry,Anthony, Ken, JT, and Ron

DALLAS – Feb. 19, 2013 – Fast-growing EchoLight Studios continues with its multi-million dollar commitment announced this year that supports the next generation of Christian filmmakers. The latest announcement pledges up to $1 million to produce and distribute a new work from the Best Film winner in this year’s 168 Film Project. The action follows similar commitments—$250K at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival (SAICFF) and a multi-million dollar production and distribution deal over five years with the Liberty University Cinematic Arts program.
“This is a great leap for the producers of the short films in our contest,” said 168 Founder and Director John David Ware. “They move up to making feature-length films, and this is a great encouragement for them to continue to excel.”
EchoLight awarded $250,000 on Feb. 9 to fund, co-produce and distribute a new work by the winner in the 2013 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival Short Film category. Brandon Adams’ film USELESS took the award. (USELESS also won multiple awards at last year’s 168 Film Project, including Best Film, Best Cinematography and Best Acting).

Earlier this year, EchoLight created an exclusive, multi-million dollar partnership with Liberty University’s Cinematic Arts program over five years to produce and distribute at least five movies combining Liberty students, staff and state-of-the-art equipment with EchoLight’s veteran producers and other above-the-line personnel.
MORE ON THE 168 FILM PROJECT
In the annual 168 Film Project founded in Hollywood in 2003, filmmakers, writers, actors and crew create a short movie on an assigned theme in just one week. Registered contestants meet May 13, 2013, to draw stones with Bible verses on them. (Participants outside the Southern California area “draw” online.)
What follows is 10 days of pre-production work and one week of shooting and editing (168 hours) to submit a finished film on the theme for the year influenced by the contestant’s individual Bible verse. Registration is open now at 168film.com and closes May 11.
"It's an honor to partner with the 168 Film Project, especially because of our mutual goal to illuminate the word of God through film," said Christopher Morrow, chief global strategist at EchoLight Studios.
“These awards build on EchoLight’s commitment to not only distribute quality faith and family films but to encourage excellence among the coming generation of filmmakers,” said EchoLight President Bobby Downes.
Dallas-based EchoLight is a full-service film production and distribution studio. In addition to the awards supporting new creators, EchoLight distributes the works of established filmmakers in the faith and family genre and produces original works (THE REDEMPTION OF HENRY MYERS, starring FIREPROOF’s Erin Bethea, releases next year).

HMS Bounty Article in Outside Magazine
Ashley Deramus on HMS Bounty
Media Statement
In light of the recent story in Outside Magazine about the HMS Bounty, Ashley and I would like to take this opportunity to honor the memory of crew members Claudine Christian and Captain Robin. These two brave individuals were both mentors and heroes in Ashley’s world.
In 2012, we received the rare honor of sailing transit on the HMS Bounty, which is where Ashley fell in love with sailing and was given the opportunity to be a part of the crew. This experience helped build her confidence and social skills. Under the supervision of Claudine, Ashley carried out her assigned duties. These included checking the engine room and painting.
Ashley’s time with Captain Robin helped develop a deep friendship and admiration for each other. By seeing how Ashley’s self confidence, independence and ability to accept responsibility grew, Captain Robin decided he wanted to give other young people the same opportunity. His dream was to arrange for the Bounty to host a group of young individuals with Down syndrome on some of the transits during the 2013 Great Lakes Tour.
I have never seen Ashley’s confidence in what she is capable to do and her potential rise as much as it did with her time spent on the HMS Bounty. I thank Captain Robin and Claudine for their love, support, and the impact they made in Ashley’s life. They will always be a treasure in both of our hearts and memory.

“Forgive Myself” Finds Place on Industry Charts and In the Hearts of Listeners
Franklin, TN (February 7th 2013) – Mansion Entertainment, label home to Grammy nominated and Dove Award winning Gospel artists, has enough experience to know when a song begins to take on a life and persona of its own. Three Bridges newest single “Forgive Myself”, off their latest album Twelve, is just such a song.
Twelve has been an important number for Three Bridges – Twelve is the title of their newest project, it describes the number of songs on the album, their number of years in ministry, and the number of studio albums they have recorded. At a time when the music industry struggles creatively to capture audiences, Three Bridges has released one of its strongest and most powerful singles, “Forgive Myself”.
“Forgive Myself” written by John Lemonis and Amy Keffer, stresses the importance of learning to forgive yourself of past sins just as Jesus does. This strong message hits home with the very foundation of the Church and has resonated in the hearts of concertgoers and followers of social media.
Shannon Smith, who sings lead on “Forgive Myself”, stated that “When we perform this song people are obviously moved by it – you can almost see a healing take place. It’s amazing to see what God to do through a three or four minute song.”
Shelia Harper, founder of SaveOne Ministry, states, “Forgive Myself is quickly becoming the theme song for our ministry, SaveOne. We are an abortion recovery ministry and the line, ‘Mercy has no memory, grace has no regret’ speaks to the very heart of what we’re about…forgiving ourselves through accepting Jesus’ mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Thank you to Three Bridges for sharing this song with the world!”
One fan on social media said that the song “Greatly blessed me. I have struggled my entire life to forgive myself…” Another fan said, “Moving on from the past and learning forgive yourself of past mistakes is something that everyone struggles with and is relatable to so many.”
“Forgive Myself” debuted on the Singing News Top 80 Chart for March and has already achieved success on other industry charts. As the popularity and exposure of the song grows, so does the feedback from fans who hear it.

Singer/Author Sharon Terrell Passes Away
From John Lanier
February 14, 2013:
I just received word that my precious friend and "RiverSong" singing partner Sharon Terrell passed away this morning around 11am ET in an Atlanta area hospital.
As you know, Sharon had been battling cancer for the past 5 or 6 years, and through it all God did some miraculous things in her life. Sharon never lost faith and it can truthfully be said that she fought a good fight. Her strength, faith and determination to hold to God's unchanging hand through the darkest storms was an amazing witness and encouragement to me.
My heart is broken, and tears flow as I type this. I already miss her terribly. Still, I know God is head over all things, and He chose to take her home today.
Not only was she one of the finest singers I had ever had the privilege to sing alongside, but she and her husband Greg have been two of my best friends for many years.
I will post more later in honor and in loving memory of my friend and singing partner Sharon. For now, I ask that you please keep Greg and the Terrells two daughters, Sadie and Autumn, in your prayers.
Thank you,
John Lanier

Happy Valentine's Day from Mercy's Well
From Mercy's Well email newsletter of February 14, 2013:
Happy Valentines Day from Mercy's Well! As many take this day to share and observe the love we have for one another - including that "special someone" God has placed in our lives - let us remember to also take time to recognize the love our Heavenly Father has for us, His children. Consider the words of John, the disciple whom Jesus loved:
"In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another"
(1 John 4:10-11).
Carry the love of God with you today, and share it with EVERYONE you meet!
We had a great weekend in Southern NC, visiting some good friends in Waxhaw and Seagrove, NC on Sunday. We have a Western NC and Eastern TN weekend upcoming, and would love to see those who are in the area! Bring a friend, and come on out!
Our most recent radio release, "Beautiful, Terrible Cross" is making its way onto more and more radio playlists across the country, so keep calling and requesting it - hopefully you will hear it on your station TODAY!
We are also excited to announce the plans for our next "Cruise w/ Mercy's Well & Friends". On February 1, 2014 we will be embarking on a Western Caribbean cruise with ports of call including Cozumel, Mexico; Belize; Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan and Costa Maya, Mexico! We will be sharing more information with you in the coming weeks about how YOU can cruise with us. So mark your calendars for this fun-filled, seven-day, musical adventure at sea!
Have a blessed week!

Gold City News
Gold City email newsletter of February 11, 2013:
It’s been a great couple of weeks for Gold City. Since we last updated you, we’ve sang at TBN in Hendersonville, TN, Soddy Daisy, TN, McDonald TN, and took a trip to Palmetto, FL, where we sang once again for one of gospel music’s best promoters, Bill Bailey at his Winter Concert. We were with our friends, the Mark Trammell Quartet, The Freemans, Tony Gore, and Jeff and Sheri Easter. From there, we had two concerts each in GA and AL before heading the bus toward Jacksonville, FL to board a ship, which is where we will be for the next week on Templeton Tour’s Singing At Sea cruise to the Bahamas. Danny, Jerry, and Chuck will each have some of their family on the cruise, so this will make for a special time.
DID YOU CATCH US ON TV?
The concert at TBN mentioned above was a special tribute to songwriters that the Southern Gospel Music Guild produced for that television station. Gold City sang two songs that night–"Peter James and John" to honor songwriter Dianne Wilkinson and "I’m Not Giving Up" by Squire Parsons, another honoree of the evening. The show aired for the first time last Friday night, February 8th, but will be rebroadcast at other times. Check the station’s website, www.tbn.org for further broadcast information.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY
Gold City could not do what they do without the love and support of our wives, who are just as much a part of this ministry as we are. Without their sacrifices and their blessing for us to leave out each week, we could not pursue our calling, share our music and minister the gospel to a lost and dying world. We hope we show it more often than this one day, but especially on Valentine’s Day, we want to say to Barbara Riley, Holly Riley, Micki Pelfrey, Kelly Elliott, and Anjeanette Howe we love and appreciate you very much!
CHANGES
Most of you know by now, Dan Keeton announced his departure a few weeks ago to pursue his life-long dream of starting a non-profit agency for childhood victims of abuse. So, we’ve been sifting through all sorts of applications and audition mp3 files to locate a new tenor. We do not have any announcement to make at the present time, but those of you who seeing Gold City in the next couple of weeks will be seeing and hearing a new face and voice on stage. Robert Fulton is riding the bus for a while with us during our transition period. He’s got an amazing voice with a super high range. We’re not sure what fans are going to love more–his musical ability or his great personality. You decide while he’s visiting on the Gold City bus for a while as our tenor search winds down.
CHECK US OUT IN SINGING NEWS MAGAZINE
The February issue of Singing News has hit the newsstand. You can read a Valentine’s tribute to our wives on page 3. On page 46, our trip to Times Square Church in New York City is chronicled, complete with photos of this beautiful and historic place.
DANNY’S FAVORITE QUOTE OF THE WEEK

The Nelons "Excuse Me, Are You Jesus?" Concept Music Video Nominated for People's Choice Telly Award
Nashville, TN (February 11, 2013) – The Nelons' concept music video of the song "Excuse Me, Are You Jesus?" has been nominated for the 34th Annual People's Choice Telly Awards, it was announced last week in New York, NY. The true-to-life story, put to song by legendary Christian music icons Bill & Gloria Gaither and Country music superstar Larry Gatlin tells the story of a man who makes a startling connection upon missing his home-bound flight. Point Light Pictures, LLC was brought to the task of making the story come to life. While the music video has been displayed at numerous events - live concerts, Gaither Homecoming Tour before thousands in attendance, Pastor David Jeremiah's "Turning Point" rally at Phillips Arena, and many churches - it has not been viewable on-line, until now. Until March 1, 2013, "Excuse Me, Are You Jesus?" has been unlocked as a selection of the 34th Annual Telly Awards People's Choice Awards on YouTube. "We're excited about this opportunity for the Nelons' work to be promoted and recognized," states Don Schaffer, owner of Point Light Pictures, LLC. Kelly Nelon comments: "This song means so much to our family and the reaction we've seen from friends around the country has been exciting. We invite our friends to share this video with everyone they know and, of course, vote!" Bill Gaither states, "As a co-producer of this album and co-writer of this song I am thrilled to see it nominated for such a prestigious award as the People's Choice Telly Award. It's been a wonderful journey partnering with the Nelons on this recording."
For its 34th season, The Telly Awards once again joined forces with YouTube to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People’s Telly Awards. In addition to recognition from the Silver Telly Council, the judging panel that selects the Telly Awards winners, the Internet community helps decide the People’s Telly Awards winners. Ernie Haase and StowTown Records Present New Single by Beyond The Ashes, "Living In The Moment"
Living In The Moment
Hello My Friends,
Read this quote slowly and let the words sink in:
“Be reverent before the dawning day. Do not think of what will be in a year,
or in ten years. Think of to-day.” – Romain Rolland
I love that quote! I know how hard it is to take your mind off of the future or off of the past. Trust me, I REALLY do! I read great quotes and Bible verses all the time to keep me focused. One tool, more than anything else, has been a new song I can’t stop listening to. It’s called “Living In The Moment”.
I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you not only to this song, but also to the newest StowTown Records artist, Beyond The Ashes. Their debut project is the newest project Wayne Haun and I have been producing for the StowTown label. It is called “Living In The Moment.” (Recorded at my request, of course. :) )
This song is a great resource. As a matter of fact, their whole album is just amazing! You are going love it. The release date for this project is March 5, 2013.
Remember, take a moment to live and glory in the day that the Lord has made for YOU. Yesterday is the PAST; the future, a PONDER; right now a PRESENT! Rejoice and be glad in His presence TODAY! Psalm 118:24
Think of it this way …
If this life is one act
Why do we lay all these traps
We put them right in our path
When we just wanna be free I will not waste my days
Making up all kinds of ways
To worry about all the things
That will not happen to me So I just let go of what I know I don't know
And I know I only do this by
Living in the moment
Living my life
Easy and breezy
With peace in my mind
I got peace in my heart
Got peace in my soul
Wherever I'm going,
I'm already home
I'm living in the moment
(Lyrics from the song “Living In The Moment”)
Living in the moment is a healthy way to be at your best for the calling God has placed within your grasp. Good Spiritual health includes mental health, too, you know. Your attitude is everything!
So enjoy the song(s) and get to know our new friends Beyond The Ashes. If you feel lead, share this with someone today. You can change a life and someone’s world with music. I truly believe that from the core of my soul.
Living In The Moment!

About Steven Lawson
Steven grew up in a small town in the hills of West Virginia, where at the young age of eight it was inevitable that he was destined to sing. During his early years, you could find him playing piano and singing every Sunday with members of his family's church.
He joined the legendary “Calvary Echoes” headed by the inspiring songwriter Conrad Cooke. After his season there, Steven found himself on a tour bus with one of gospel music's premier quartets,The Dixie Melody Boys, where he sang for two years.
Steven then formed his own group, The Royal Heirs. While Steven managed The Royal Heirs, he encouraged and promoted the talents of many young artists who are singing and performing today.
Over the course of Steven's music career he has been blessed to be a part of church services and gospel concerts with many of today's top Christian artists including, The Perrys, The Wilburns, Dottie Rambo, Gold City, The Singing Cookes, and many others.
Called Out Quartet Announces Change
From Called Out Quartet's email newsletter of February 8, 2013:
A Season of Change for CO4
As the vocal group, THE BYRDS, used to sing "To everything, turn,turn,turn,...There is a season, Turn Turn.." oh well, you get the drift. It seems as though the season of change is upon CO4. The time has come to announce the departure of our bass singer, Von Gaines and baritone, Darrell Collier. Von and Darrell were both a part of CO4 from the beginning in 2003 and will be greatly missed by "the guys" of CO4 and fans both. Darrell was one of the most natural Baritone singers (and Emcee) that has ever set foot on the stage, and Von was one of the finest Bass singers ever to sing the Bass part. We will miss them and our love and prayers go with Darrell, Von and their families as they move on to the next step God has for their lives. Below are statements from both Darrel and Von about their Departures...
Darrell Collier
For those of you who know me, you know how much I love southern gospel music. However, it is time that I resign from my position as baritone vocalist for the Called Out Quartet. I will be working with them as they find a replacement and helping them during this transition in any capacity I can. I have been blessed to do what I love and enjoy for many years but as I've gotten older, the traveling and long nights have taken its toll on me. I have been privileged to meet some of the most wonderful people in the world and would have never had that opportunity without CO4!
To "the guys", thank you for all your support and work you do for the Lord and for being awesome friends! I love you all more than you'll ever know! To Eddie and Ms. Janice, thanks for the encouragement and guidance you have shown me over the years and for your lifelong commitment to southern gospel music and to serving the Lord.
Remember, it's not goodbye, it's see you later!
Blessed,
Darrell
Von Gaines
To all the friends I've come to know so well over the last 9 plus years as I've been blessed to be a small part of Called Out Quartet, I've got a bittersweet announcement that I truly thought would never come. Back in early December the good Lord (and this could have only come from God) blessed me with an incredible job opportunity here in Nashville flying for Vanderbilt Hospital's LifeFlight air ambulance service. At first I thought I could find some way to hang on to my cherished spot in the quartet all while taking care of my responsibilities at LifeFlight, but after a few weeks it was apparent that it could not work out. I talked to the guys, and consulted with our dear friend Eddie Crook and came to the conclusion that for the better of the group I needed to step aside. The decisions made have been very difficult as my heart is truly in the ministry that Called Out Quartet has done and will continue to do. I know that as the Lord opened this opportunity for me, He will be with and bless the group even more than I have witnessed Him to do through the years. Please pray for Darrell, Scott, and Marty as they seek the Lord's will and know that though I may not be with them week in and week out, I'll always consider myself a "Called Out Quartet guy" and will support them every possible way I can. I'll miss you all more than you will ever know...Von Gaines
Continuing On...
Though departures are not easy, we are very excited to announce a new edition to the group with Dillon Clemons taking over the roll of Bass singer for CO4. Many of the folks up North already had the opportunity to meet & hear Dillon last month when he went for a long run through Michigan & Ohio with us. The response to Dillon was incredible and the overwelming consensus of the crowds was that he would be a good fit. Dillon is 19 years old and is from Nashville, Tennessee. He is a student at Middle Tennessee State University, where he is majoring in Elementary Education to become a teacher. More info on Dillon will be coming soon, so stay tuned.
Due to the departure of Darrell (who has offered to fill in until a replacement is found) we are now scheduling auditions for the Baritone position. For more information or to schedule an audition contact us at CalledOut@CalledOutQuartet.com or call 615-332-5500.
Please pray for us as we go through this season of change. Change is never easy, but we have the promise that all things work together for good.
Until we see you on the road...
Blessings,
Marty, Scott and all the guys of CO4

Mercy's Well Releases New Radio Single "Beautiful, Terrible Cross"
From Mercy's Well email newsletter of February 7, 2013:
After the craziness of the last few weeks, it was nice to have a "normal" week for a change. We almost didn't know what to do! We had a great "Super Sunday" at Rushwood Pak Wesleyan Church in Asheboro, NC. Before we began our program in the service, we were blessed with the opportunity to watch two other ministries present their gifts. First, a black-light ministry from Raleigh, NC shared God's message by using choreographed movements and props to bring to life some amazing Christian music. The team was made up of seventeen teenagers and young adults. What a blessing it was to see young people using their creative gifts to honor God! Zach and Rodney, a Christian-Country music group, took the stage next. Their tight harmonies and original lyrics were well received, and their testimony to God's faithfulness was powerful. We ended the service with our set, wrapping up a great day!
We are excited to announce the release of our new radio single, "Beautiful, Terrible Cross". This song is from our WORSHIP: MODERN HYMNS FOR EVERY GENERATION project, and we are looking forward to seeing how God will use it to touch lives all across the country. Call into your local Christian radio station and request to hear it today!
You can have your own copy of this CD, and all our others, by going to our online store. Be sure to check out the accompaniment devotional book that goes along with the WORSHIP CD - a great tool for your personal walk with Christ!
Have a great week, and God bless!

Greater Vision In Studio
From Greater Vision's email newsletter of February 7, 2013:
We finished up last weekend in Florida, and we're still in Florida... headed to Palmetto for two great events today!
On Monday, we'll be back in the recording studio, finishing the vocals for our brand-new CD, which is scheduled for release in late April. Rodney, Chris, Jim Brady, Lanny Wolfe, and several other great writers have contributed some great new songs, and we're ready for you to hear them! One of my favorite parts of the recording process will be on Tuesday, when Lari Goss returns to the studio to conduct the Orchestra Session for our recording! Hearing all that great music come together to help carry the message of the songs is a great experience. After that, Bob Williams will begin the "mix" process (putting it all together), and Ben Wolfe will begin working on the art for the CD cover. It will all come together to produce a great CD! Keep watching our Updates for more information, and a chance to get your CD before it's released to the general public!
To see our complete Concert Schedule, click HERE.
We have a sound-check at 11am, so I need to close.
All of us hope you have a great remainder of the week, and we hope to see you SOON!
As always, thank you for your prayers and your friendship. You are a blessing to us!
Blessings,

News from Legacy Five
From Legacy Five's email newsletter of February 6, 2013:
What a great month January was! The New Year's Celebration at Gaylord Opryland Hotel was magnificent! Then we had two Jubilee concerts with the Booth Brothers and Greater Vision. We also enjoyed our Eastern Caribbean Gospel Music Celebration cruise with The Collingsworth Family, Greater Vision, Triumphant Quartet, The Booth Brothers, Tim Lovelace and others. It was a phenomenal cruise for sure.
Wow...what a month!
Now we look to February for some more great times. This month will take us to Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Arizona. See our schedule below for more details. Come see us and bring a friend!

Don't Miss the Boat!
January 18 - 25, 2014
In the first paragraph, I mentioned just having gotten off our annual Eastern Caribbean cruise. That cruise destination is THE BEST Caribbean itinerary I have EVER been on. Plus, the Holland America cruise line is superb. Then you add the detail and class of Inspiration Christian Cruises along with the best artists Southern Gospel Music has to offer, and it is no wonder that this cruise sold out 5 months in advance. The passengers are demanding this cruise be offered again, so we are scheduled to do it all over again January 18-25 of next year. I know it sounds like a long time away and some of you don't like to plan that far ahead. BUT....this cruise does sell out quickly. There are a limited number of cabins in each "category" and so you need to reserve the cabin of your choice as soon as possible. Take your time paying the cruse off, but at least secure your spot now. You have until October 29th to cancel your reservation and still receive a refund. So....don't wait....reserve your spot NOW.
Last, but not Least!
Your Stories
Legacy Five has a tab on our website called, "Your Stories." These are letters we have received from folks who have a specific story to tell that somehow relates to the ministry of Legacy Five. If you have a special story you would like to share, please email it to us and we will consider it for publication on our site. We only post your story once we have received permission from you. But even if we don't publish your story, we still want to hear it. Your stories encourage us and we love reading what God has done in your life through our music. So....I'd like to leave you with a letter I just got this week. It is shared with permission, however this person did request that we not include her name or town. She gave me permission to share it with you because she hopes her story might help encourage one of you.
Dear Legacy Five,
Let me start out by saying thank you again for an awesome and encouraging concert tonight. And thank you for granting my request to sing I Stand Redeemed. I so did not want the evening to end. Another reason I look forward to Heaven....the singing and praise and worship won't ever have to end!
About eleven years ago I found myself divorced after nine years of marriage. I was told that he just didn't love me anymore. In the aftermath and heartbreak of this life event, I soon found myself involved in a relationship with a married man. Now I had gone forward as a child to accept Christ, and was raised in a Christian home, so I knew all of this was terribly wrong. When this relationship fell apart and he decided to go back to his wife of 25 years, I was left despondent, heart broken and feeling very much alone and lost. So I went out to his barn and looked for something sharp. I found a razor blade and attempted to use it on my wrists, but the blade was too dull to get very much damage done before I was found and stopped. I do however still carry a couple of minor scars to this day.
It was about two weeks after this that I was invited to your concert. When you guys sang I Stand Redeemed, I crumbled. It was like you were singing my hearts cry. "When I think of all my faults and my failures...." But oh how God used that chorus to encourage and heal this broken heart!
So tonight found me desiring to hear it again in the aftermath of yet another failed 9 1/2 year marriage. This time, my husband had turned verbally and mentally abusive and I believe it was soon to escalate into physical abuse. For the safety of my 3 year old son and I, we left.
The good news? The God on the mountain is still God in the valley. He has continued to do exceeding abundantly above all I could ask or think. Now don't get me wrong. I've had some pretty rough faith days, and not always had the most Godly of thoughts and attitudes, but His provision for us has been so wonderful! And at the end of the day I can still say, I Stand Redeemed, no matter what.
I hope this can encourage you just a little to know what an impact your service to the Lord can have and is having. Thanks to all of you for caring and being such a blessing. Thank you for your continued service and sacrifice, and for sharing the good news of the gospel.

The Mark Dubbeld Family Releases New Children’s Book
Nashville, TN (January, 5th, 2013) – Mansion Entertainment recording artist, The Mark Dubbeld Family, have released their first Children’s Book called, “The Farmer Said, ‘Yes!’”
Written by Janene A. Dubbeld, the book relays the true story of Don and Twana Hawk who were missionaries to Honduras.
As a farmer and his wife from Ohio, Don and Twana heard God’s call to go and help underprivileged children learn about Jesus. They would also teach the boys how to provide for their families.
Author Janene Dubbeld commented. “Since the first class of just 12 students, more than 7,000 students have been educated and ministered to through the school named, “El Sembrador,” founded by the Hawks.”
El Sembrador’s educational programs include vocational training and a Bible institute. Many graduates have gone on to become mechanics, lawyers, engineers, and pastors. It encourages children of all ages to say, “yes,” to whatever God desires for them to do.
Mark Dubbeld said, “Teaching children the importance of missions is an important area of Christianity and Janene reaches kids of all ages with her book.”
Missions will benefit from the sale of this Children’s book. To purchase or find more details of this book go online to mjdubbeld.com, mjdubbeld@msn.com, or http://www.facebook.com/marknjanene.dubbeld.
