SGNScoops Presents “CREEKSIDE GOSPEL MUSIC CONVENTION” Home of the 2012 Diamond Awards

SGNScoops announces plans are now underway for a new event called “Creekside Gospel Music Convention!” The three day event will take place  in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on October 29,30 31! The festivities will include Gospel Music, the 2012 Diamond Awards and a special night of celebrating Ms. Lou Hildreth’s SEVENTY FIVE YEARS in Gospel Music!  “Please accept this invitation to join me in celebrating my SEVENTY FIVE YEARS IN GOSPEL MUSIC on Monday October 29, 7PM, at the Smokey Mountain Convention Center, Pigeon Forge,Tennessee,” says Mrs.Hildreth. “Come share the music, laughter, and fellowship.  Everyone is welcome!!  The fabulous DIAMOND AWARDS are scheduled for Tuesday night at the same venue. Free Admission to all events.”

Matt Felts Releases Civil War Project, Angels On The Battlefield

Nashville: Popular Southern Gospel artist Matt Felts has released a new project, Angels On The Battlefield, featuring original Civil War hymns. The historic album features songs familiar to the soldiers of both the North and South, each played on period instruments by Nashville best musicians. The album also includes gripping narrations that honor the role faith played during America's greatest conflict. Felts was joined in the studio on select songs by an all-star cast including Johnny Minick, Mike Allen and Aaron Minick. "This project has been years in the making.      Angels On The Battlefield comes out as the Civil War community celebrates the 150th anniversary of the conflict. The project is scheduled to be carried by all National Parks across America as well as museums and historical gift shops. It will also be sold by major retailers both in the Christian market as well as secular business's such as Best Buy and Borders. "From the beginning, my goal has been to present God's love to people that may never come to a Gospel concert or church service. I am overwhelmed the response that we have already received. God is opening huge doors." added Felts. The project was debuted in Gettysburg in March of this year. "I have heard many Civil War projects and this album is by far the best I have ever heard. It is a must have for any Civil War enthusiast or fan of great music." Said George Lomas, Civil War expert.

Lillington, NC - Leslie Taylor announces her departure as soprano singer for The Taylors. After
six years on the road, Leslie felt the Lord calling her to a different ministry. Leslie says, “I am
thrilled about the new opportunities that God has given me over the past several months. I am
thankful and excited for the doors that God has opened”. She will be serving the Lord in her
home church while pursuing a solo ministry.

The LeFevre Quartet signs with Activate Records

When you think of Gospel Music, LeFevre is a name that has always been at the top of our field. In 1921, two brothers and a sister formed a group, which became known as The LeFevre's, traveling and singing the gospel for decades.  In 2005, a new sound emerged in Gospel Music, holding the same banner that was held by the original LeFevre group. Just one year after forming The LeFevre Quartet, fans voted them 2006 Horizon Group of the Year. In 2009 their song "Big Mighty God" was nominated as a top 5 song by the Dove awards. This group continues to hold up the standard that was started over 90 years ago. Marshall Hall’s Single, “Brighter One,” To Be Featured On The CW’s Hart Of Dixie

Hendersonville, TN (April 25, 2012) – The CW Network will be welcoming a new voice to their Hart of Dixie TV show this Monday evening. While Southern Gospel audiences and Gaither fans will find it familiar, many new fans will be pleasantly surprised by the sounds of this terrific singer and his fresh music. The voice of Daywind Records’ artist, Marshall Hall (formerly of the Gaither Vocal Band), with his brand new single, “Brighter One,” will be featured as a part of the April 30th episode of Hart Of Dixie, which airs at 8 pm EST.
Based in a small town in Alabama, the show centers on Zoe Hart (played by Rachel Bilson), a native New Yorker and recent medical school graduate, trying to adjust to life in the South. The show also stars Jaime King, Scott Porter, and Tim Matheson.
“I’m excited!” shares Marshall Hall. “I’ll admit it – I watch teen TV shows a lot. I can’t help it; maybe I haven’t quite grown up yet. To think that there will be a bunch of teenagers hearing a message from my project is pretty amazing. I’d also like to thank my dear friends, Sam and Becca (Mizell), for writing such a great song!”
“Brighter One” is the title track from Marshall Hall’s 2012 GMA Dove Award nominated project, Brighter One. The single released to Southern Gospel radio this month is already receiving a positive response from DJs across the country.
