Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Launches School of Evangelism Online Training

Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Launches School of Evangelism Online Training

Intensive School of Evangelism Online Curriculum the First Course Available as Part of New Billy Graham Online Evangelism Training Ministry

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 20, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) recently launched an intensive 12-part online training course titled School of Evangelism Online. The course draws from more than 60 years of evangelistic outreach to impart practical information and strategies for reaching the world with the Gospel, and is the first title available under the banner of the BGEA's new training ministry titled Billy Graham Online Evangelism Training.

"God has blessed the BGEA through the decades, and given us the opportunity to proclaim His love, forgiveness and hope to multiple generations," said BGEA Vice President Will Graham, who oversees online training. "As we've focused on this one singular mission, we've developed a wealth of information and practices that we are excited to offer to others who desire to make an impact in their community."

The course of study for School of Evangelism Online includes four separate courses, and each course contains three lessons. The four courses focus on 1) Preparation; 2) Proclamation; 3) Power; and 4) Preservation. Included in the curriculum are sermon messages from Billy Graham, introductions and details from Franklin and Will Graham, and videos from well-known Christian leaders such as John Stott, Ravi Zacharias, Ron Hutchcraft and Greg Laurie.

School of Evangelism Online will give participants practical strategies for proclamation evangelism, with an emphasis on evangelistic preaching and preparing their churches for follow-up with new believers.

"For years we have held Schools of Evangelism around the world, but we also recognize that many people don't always have the money or time that is required to travel a great distance and sit in a classroom for several days in a row," said Graham. "We're always seeking ways to utilize every effective means available to us to spread the Gospel. The Billy Graham Online Evangelism Training program helps us make the information more accessible and meets a great need for those who haven't been able to attend one of our previous schools."

The course is available online at www.BillyGrahamOnlineTraining.org. There is a cost of $99 for the 12 lessons. After enrolling, students will have 180 days to work through the course of study at their own pace. All required materials are furnished for the course, and no additional purchase of books or materials is needed.

11th Hour and Crossroads Sign Long-term Agreement

Arden, NC - September 4, 2012 - One of the industry’s most talked-about new artists, 11th Hour, has just entered a long term recording agreement with Crossroads Entertainment & Marketing. The group is off to a strong start, already receiving multiple top 40 hits in the Singing News radio airplay charts and a recent top 10 nomination for Horizon Artist Of The Year in the 2012 Singing News Fan Awards.

“What a blessing," says group member Amber Eppinette. "Crossroads is such a reputable company, representing the finest Christian music artists. Being considered a part of their family is such an honor. 11th Hour’s prayer is to always be found doing the will of God and we are very thankful He has led us to Chris White and Crossroads. We look forward to a long and successful relationship for many years to come!"

Crossroads executive Chris White states, "I got a call from Steve French with the Kingdom Heirs late on a Sunday night. He said, 'We just worked with a group you need to sign. They are incredible!' Since we don’t sign very many new artists these days, I hesitated, but then I thought that they must be special for him to call me. Truth is, they are, and I’m glad I took Steve’s advice."

The new record, titled Steppin’ Out, is scheduled for an October 16th street date. Look for the project at your local retailers or visit online at www.crossroadsmusic.com.

The Big Day of Serving Comes to Enumclaw!

Hundreds of teenagers unite to transform an entire neighborhood in one day

Enumclaw, WA—On Saturday, October 13, 2012, hundreds of teenagers from Enumclaw and the surrounding area will converge on a local neighborhood to bring help and hope to our citizens in need. They will unite to work on projects such as painting, minor home repairs, landscaping, cleaning and beautifying city blocks, alleyways, and parks, planting community gardens, removing graffiti, and cleaning vacant lots.

Known as “The Big Day of Serving,” this massive joint effort is organized by Group Mission Trips—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group. Group Mission Trips (GMT) provides dynamic short-term mission trips and service events that help children, youth, and adults connect with Jesus Christ while serving people in his name. They are part of a new movement of Christian teens across the country, “uniting to show what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus.” GMT is interdenominational, focusing on the core beliefs that bring Christians together.

Since 1977, through GMT, nearly a quarter of a million participants have provided more than 6 million hours of volunteer service directly to people in need, making a real difference as they serve elderly and disadvantaged people while having fun working with friends and meeting other teens from the area.

In anticipation of the The Big Day of Serving, Enumclaw Community Director, Brook Hickle, says, “I just can’t wait to welcome The Big Day of Serving to our town! My vision for Big Day Enumclaw is that it will not only affect thousands of lives on that very day, but that it will cause those who serve to reflect on the needs in their own communities, and inspire them to future service right where they live. October 13 will be perfect day for Enumclaw!”

Dennis Bowers, youth leader for Peace Lutheran Church, took his youth group to help with a previous Big Day of Serving. He said, “It was good to see the youth work so hard to show God’s love to other people they had never met.”

City officials are invariably amazed at what well-organized youth groups can accomplish in only one day. The local response to The Big Day of Serving is extremely positive, and the citizens of the renovated neighborhoods are typically overwhelmed with renewed pride and hope. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

As Cheryl Boettger, education director for Mt. Washington United Methodist Church said, “I like the one-day format. My group had a wonderful day, and we were grateful to have the opportunity to serve.”

Local and area-wide groups of teens are encouraged to get involved in the Big Day of Serving in Enumclaw. Youth leaders are invited to register their entire groups (grades 6-12) to participate. Early-bird registration is only $29 per person and includes pre-event project selection and coordination, a kickoff rally on the morning of the event, all supplies and project materials, lunch, devotional materials for mid-day break, and a neighborhood Block Party Celebration to finish the day.

Complete information for participating in this powerful event of synergy and service to make a dramatic difference for people in need is available by phone or on the website.
