Daywind Records Introduces the Live At Oak Tree Series

Daywind Records Introduces The Live At Oak Tree Series (Capturing The Music And Heart Of The Artist)
Hendersonville, Tenn. (Nov. 25, 2009) – Daywind Records has always had a strong belief in forging new paths of opportunity for ministry through artists and music. As a result of that commitment, the company began an incredible series with artists called Live At Oak Tree.
The Live At Oak Tree series takes the artists’ music and life testimonies and presents them in an intimate setting, giving the viewer/listener an opportunity to feel as if they are sitting in the living room with each individual artist, getting to know them and their heart. Some have said that this series is “better than a backstage pass.”
Michael Turner, Director of Marketing at Daywind, shared, “There really isn’t anything in our genre like these projects, and what sets this series apart is not only the studio setting, but also the inside look into the heart of the artist. We’ve been able to capture the artists in an intimate and personal setting, and they have shared stories about the songs they love to sing and life on and off the road.”
The first series of three Live At Oak Tree recordings, released in the spring, included Austins Bridge, Aaron & Amanda Crabb, and Crabb Revival. The second series, released this fall, included Greater Vision, Legacy Five, and the Booth Brothers. The third series, which will be released this February, includes Karen Peck & New River, Sisters, and Jeff & Sheri Easter. All of the recordings come in a CD/DVD combo format. You can order these great projects from your local Christian retail store or from one of the many online Christian music resources. Look for Live At Oak Tree programming on Gospel Music Channel and coming soon to INSP, the Inspirational Network.

Be Faithful In the Little Things

A few years back, the Hoppers sang a song called, "Be Faithful In the Little Things". Catchy tune. Reminded the listeners that God wants us to be faithful to Him in everything so that He can mature us into the people He knows we can be.
I've been thinking about that a lot lately. The little things would include stuff like my attitude toward my coworkers (women can be really nasty behind others' backs, and we also can be very territorial!), the way I drive (if I call that idiot names in my car where no one can hear me, it really doesn't matter), even the way I talk to the cashier at the store (of course it's her fault if the prices went up)...
I was reading My Utmost for His Highest Today and one of the emphasis was on vindication. Oh how I love to do that. If people catch me in a mistake, or if they think I made one and I didn't, I am so quick to vindicate myself...especially by pointing fingers at others. Funny, I don't recall Jesus ever doing that when He was misunderstood...
Then there is the critical spirit. God gave us discernment so we could intercede, not criticise. Yikes, that one hurts. I know I am too critical and that is something I really need to work on.
Life is a series of choices that we face daily. It's not always the huge ones that come between us and God (should I donate $1M to charity today? No, guess I can't...)...but the little things that we may not even think about. Habits that have become ingrained in our lives. The Bible calls them "little foxes" that need to be eradicated.
I'm taking a good hard look at myself today and the Lord is reminding me to be faithful in the little things. What do the 'little things' look like in your life?

Mercy's Well Soars to New Heights

Nashville, TN (Nov. 4, 2009) – Dynamic vocal trio, Mercy’s Well, has scored the highest chart position to date with their current single, “I’ll See You Soon.” The song, written by Donna Beauvais and Twila McBride-Labar, came in on the Singing News Top 80 chart at #27 for the upcoming December issue of the magazine.
The group has been blessed and overwhelmed by the response to the message of the song. They have received numerous emails and testimonies of how God has used it in individual situations to bring comfort and hope in a time of loss. One of the listeners sent this email to Mercy’s Well recently, “I absolutely love this song, along with many other people. My mom and dad, older sister, and twin granddaughters are gone on to be with the Lord, and I think of them when I hear it. I miss my parents a lot but my sister passed away on March 7, 2008. She was taken away so young, only 60 and it was very unexpected. Since my parents passed away, she was kind of mine and my younger sister’s substitute mom. We three sisters always went shopping the day after Thanksgiving together and that was an annual outing that we so enjoyed. My younger sister lives in Gastonia, NC so I don’t get to see her often. Thank God for my children and grandchildren. This song gives me peace when I hear it on the radio as I sing along.”
