Exclusively Distributed New Day Artists Nominated in Dove Awards

Nashville, Tenn. (February 18, 2010) – New Day Christian Distributors is honored to announce that many of their exclusive artists received Dove nominations during this morning’s nominee press conference, held at the Curb Café at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.

New Day exclusively distributed artist, Bluetree, with their album, God Of The City, has made an incredible impact this year. Their success was reflected in a New Artist of the Year nomination. Other New Day exclusive nominations include Keith & Kristyn Getty for Praise and Worship Album of the Year, Awaken The Dawn
(Phil Naish), Getty Music, and BeBe & CeCe Winans’ song “Close To You” (BeBe Winans, B & C Records, Malaco), was nominated for Urban Recorded Song of the Year, from the album, Still (BeBe Winans, B & C Records, Malaco).

Garnering four nominations is Daywind Records’ artist, Austins Bridge. Their nominations include Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year, “Hold On To Jesus” (Justin Rivers, Jason Baird), on Live At Oak Tree: Austins Bridge; Country Recorded Song of the Year, “Dry Bones,” (PD Arr by Justin Rivers, Bubba Smith) also on Live At Oak Tree: Austins Bridge; Country Album of the Year, Live At Oak Tree: Austins Bridge (Paul Corley, Tre Corley, Norman Holland, Michael Turner, Shannon Lancaster); and Long Form Music Video of the Year, Live At Oak Tree: Austins Bridge (Graham Bustin, Paul Corley, Tre Corley, Norman Holland, Michael Turner, Shannon Lancaster).

Receiving an Inspirational Album of the Year nomination is Daywind artist, Aaron and Amanda Crabb for Live At Oak Tree: Aaron and Amanda Crabb (Paul Corley, Tre Corley, Norman Holland, Michael Turner, Shannon Lancaster). Karen Peck & New River (Daywind Records) received a nomination for Song of the Year for their song “Why Can’t All God’s Children Get Along” (Stephen Hill). Also, Karen Peck Gooch (Karen Peck & New River) was honored with a nomination in the Female Artist of the Year category. There were five additional Daywind Music Group nominations.

The 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry House and televised nationwide on the Gospel Music Channel (gmclife.com), Sunday, April 25, 2010, from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. EST. While the awards are the purpose of the show, music performances will definitely share center stage at the GMA Dove Awards, showcasing some of Gospel music’s hottest and most diverse artists.

Dove Awards will be handed out in 43 categories. Dove Awards nominations go to recordings released during the eligibility year November 1, 2008, through October 31, 2009, and voted on by the members of the GMA. The complete nominations list is available at both gospelmusic.org and doveawards.com.

Tickets to the 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards are currently on sale through the Grand Ole Opry Call Center, 1-800-SEE-OPRY/1-800-733-6779, via the web at opry.com, or may be purchased in-person at The Opry Box Office located at the Opry House at 2804 Opryland Drive and the Ryman Auditorium Box Office at 116 5th Ave North, in downtown Nashville. Ticket prices range from $25 - $200.
