Steven Noyes from The Village School in Naples Selected as 2009 Golden Halo Award Winner
4th Annual Award Honors Outstanding Christian Teachers Held on March 13
(March 23, 2010 - Fort Myers , Fla.) The Christian Chamber of Southwest Florida, Inc. is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2009 Golden Halo Award is Steven Noyes, a fourth grade teacher at The Village School in Naples , Fla. Noyes was selected from 10 finalists who were narrowed down from over 50 nominations received by the Christian Chamber . He received a custom necktie diamond pin created and presented by Jason Sherman from Southwest Florida ’s Diamond District, a weekend vacation from the Bayfront Inn, a six month subscription for Sky Angel’s Family Values Pak television service and more.
This year’s Golden Halo Award Banquet was held on Saturday, March 13 at Grace Community Center in N. Fort Myers . Over 160 educators, business owners, ministries and guests came out to honor outstanding Christian teachers from a five-county area.
“The Golden Halo Award is our opportunity to say “thank you” to our Christian teachers in Southwest Florida . These teachers change the lives of our children by teaching them daily about faith that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. It is an honor and a privilege to host this event each year for these worthy men and women,” said Jeanne Sweeney, President/CEO of the Christian Chamber of Southwest Florida, Inc.
The Christian Chamber of Southwest Florida began the first-in-the-nation recognition of outstanding teachers in Christian private schools in Lee, Collier, Charlotte , Glades, and Hendry Counties back in 2006. Since then, over 200 teachers have been nominated.
