Anticipation Building for 2010 SGN Music Awards

Show to Be Streamed Live For First Time
Grammy Winner Jason Crabb Added as Featured Performer

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Anticipation has continued to build since the announcement of nominees, hosts and performers in this year’s SGN Music Awards. The 2010 SGN Music Awards Celebration will take place tomorrow evening, April 13, 2010 at River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tennessee.

For the first time ever, the event will be filmed and streamed live via the internet. Fans all across the country will be able to see performances from their favorite artists and watch as many of the top names in Southern Gospel music are awarded for their achievements over the past year.

Deon Unthank, administrator for SoGospelNews.com said, “We are so excited about finally being able to stream this event live. This has always been a dream for us, and we can’t wait for others to see this program. We’ve always had so many individuals express how disappointed they were that they couldn’t attend this, our biggest event of the year. Well, now they can!”

The Celebration will be filmed and streamed live via River of Life Church’s state of the art recording facilities, which is also the home to TCT Network’s hit show Singing at the River. A portal to the stream will be available on the SoGospelNews.com website the day of the event. The stream will be hosted on the Johnny Minick Ministries website, but it will be easily accessible through SoGospelNews.com’s home page.

In addition, Deon & Susan Unthank are proud to announce the addition of Grammy-winning powerhouse vocalist Jason Crabb to the performance lineup for tomorrow evening’s program.

“We always knew we wanted Jason to be a part of our program, and we are so thankful that we worked it out that he was able to be with us this year! We feel like this is our strongest line-up of performers. This will be an event that you won’t want to miss.”

The 2010 SGN Music Awards Celebration will also boast performances by the Booth Brothers, The Isaacs, Karen Peck & New River, The Perrys, Jeff & Sheri Easter, the Bowling Family, HisSong, The Freemans, Beyond the Ashes, McMillan & Life, Soul’d Out Quartet, and sponsors Ed Crawford & the Mystery Men Quartet.

The event will also host a multi-artist tribute to the longevity and leadership of Southern Gospel veterans the Singing Cookes. That performance – which will feature The Isaacs, Jeff & Sheri Easter, The Perrys, and The Freemans – will close out the program and is expected to be a highlight of the evening.

Hosts for the event will be two-time SGN Music Award Male Vocalist of the Year Mike Bowling and Female Vocalist, Songwriter, and Musician of the Year winner Sonya Isaacs Yeary. Jeff & Sheri Easter’s Madison Easter, who received his first nomination for Musician of the Year this year, will also be co-hosting the event.

As in year’s past, the SGN Music Awards Celebration is free to the public. The event will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
