AWARD-WINNING AUTHOR ANDREW PETERSON TO RELEASE THIRD CHILDREN’S BOOK

BOOK IS THIRD IN THE WINGFEATHER SAGA SERIES THE MONSTER IN THE HOLLOWS MAY 24, 2011

Nashville, TN (April 20, 2011) ----- Award-winning author Andrew Peterson is scheduled to release his highly anticipated children’s book, The Monster In The Hollows, on May 24, 2011. The book is the third in the popular four-part Wingfeather Saga, which continues the escapades of Janner Wingfeather and his family as they face a new adventure fraught with mystery, betrayal and sneakery. The Monster In The Hollows, published by Rabbit Room Press, will be available for purchase at all retail outlets and will be distributed through Ingram Book Company. The book will also be available online at www.wingfeathersaga.com, www.rabbitroom.com, www.andrew-peterson.com and all digital outlets.

Peterson began the Wingfeather Saga series in 2008 with On The Edge Of The Sea Of Darkness, which Novel Teen heartily endorsed: “This book was a big—and pleasant—surprise. Andrew Peterson has a wonderfully witty voice. He reminds me of an easier-to-understand Douglas Adams with his satirical style of writing.” The second book in the series, North! Or Be Eaten, won the 2010 Christy Award for Best Young Adult Fiction, and as New York Times bestselling author, G.P. Taylor exclaims, “Peterson deserves every literary prize for this fine book.” Jennifer Trafton, author of The Rise And Fall Of Mount Majestic, gives her accolades to The Monster In The Hollows: “So moving! A fantastic story.”

"One of the great joys of my career has been the writing of these books,” says Peterson. “It's been harder and more rewarding than I ever thought it would be--harder, because writing fiction is almost completely different than songwriting; more rewarding because of the way it's helped me keep alive my inner ten-year-old, both when I'm writing and when I'm talking about the story with other readers. I can't wait to write the next one."

Peterson is also a highly acclaimed singer/songwriter, who is known for his thought provoking lyrics and warm vocal delivery. His latest album, Counting Stars, debuted at #1 on iTunes and #6 on the Billboard chart that broke the record from his previous CD. Peterson’s latest single from the project, Dancing In The Minefields is still strong on the charts after seven months of radio airplay and the video has received close to 500,000 views on YouTube. And this fall, Peterson will host his second annual Hutchmoot creative conference in Nashville. The event spotlights music, conversation, and a series of discussions centered on the telling of great stories in song, literature, and film.
