Country Weekly journalist Jessica Nicholson's recent interview covered Gordon's life of music including his work as one of Nashville's most in-demand studio session players. Totally blind from birth, Gordon Mote began playing piano as a young three-year-old on Thanksgiving day when he shocked his parents by playing “Jesus Loves Me” on the piano. Named the 2009 and 2011 Keyboard/Piano Player of the Year by the Academy of Country Music after seven consecutive nominations, and a Gospel Music Association Dove award winner, Gordon has met and exceeded some of his wildest dreams. He has quickly joined the ranks of gospel music’s most entertaining stage personalities. A brilliant performer, insightful songwriter and prodigious musician, Gordon’s physical blindness somehow attunes his other senses more keenly and fuels his vision for bringing honor to Christ through his music.
