Williamsons Invited To Perform In South Africa

Wetumkw, OK (December 10, 2013) Recently The Williamsons of Wetumka, Oklahoma were invited to present the music at a revival service near their home town. They were not aware that the evangelist was the Rev. Livingstone Zitha of Johannesburg, South Africa where he pastors a church of more than 5,000 members. He fell in love with the Southern Gospel music performed by The Williamsons and invited them to come to his church in South Africa along with other churches and to hold an area wide crusade at an athletic event field. The Williamsons have been working the past few years with Mike Russell of The World Mission Team who, along with The Williamsons, works in conjunction with The Gospel Station radio network. Rev. Russell was immediately put in charge of arrangements.

"Plans are beginning to take shape for the Williamson's third missionary journey with the Gospel Station's World mission team.” stated Mike Russell leader of the world mission team. Russell continued "Talk's have been on going for a year with Pastor Livingstone of Johannesburg South Africa for a joint effort to conduct a stadium crusade in the city of Johannesburg. What a privilege that God would allow us to work along side this powerful man of God. God is up to some good things."

Mike and Jan Russell along with the Williamson's will travel to South Africa during the month of November 2014 for the outreach. Those interested in participating in this exciting mission trip should contact the Williamson's, donnie@williamsonsmusic.com , The Gospel Station network" http://www.thegospelstation.com/ or the Russell's, mjruss@juno.com .

The Williamsons are excited about this new opportunity. They have been privileged to see nearly 9,000 lost souls make professions of faith in Jesus Christ in the past two years on mission endeavors. They are looking forward to seeing many thousands more come to Christ in South Africa!

In other news The Williamsons are releasing a new project.

The Williamsons are proud to announce the release of a brand new project featuring singer/songwriter Lisa Williamson. Lisa has written some new material for this project, much of it inspired by a very difficult situation through which she helped her parents. Songs like “I Will Be There Too”, “I’ve Made Up My Mind”, and one with a bluegrass feel “A Few Tears of Sorrow” were written to help encourage the Christian experiencing struggles. The title cut, “Counting My Blessings” is the old Irving Berlin song from the movie White Christmas which encourages us to remember all the wonderful things with which God has blessed us. It also includes two Dottie Rambo classics “We Shall Behold Him” and “Don’t Lift the Anchor”. She even included one song she wrote for her and Donnie’s two daughters, Sadie (age 8) and Olivia (age 6) called “Little Old Me”. They do a great job singing a great little song. Lisa says, “My hope is that people enjoy what they hear. It takes a lot of work to put a new recording together. If it encourages just one person, then that work was not in vain.” Counting My Blessings is expected to be released by January 1.

About The Williamsons

The Williamsons began sharing the Gospel through music in 1998 as The Homesteaders Quartet. The dream of Donnie Williamson was to form a group to sing classic Gospel music on a limited basis. What he wanted to do never occurred. From the group's onset their demand was overwhelming. Soon they were performing more than 100 dates a year. For the past several years The Williamsons have been in full time Christian ministry and entertainment and have traveled across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Their music has been in national charts and were they honored to be nominated to the Gospel Music Association for a Dove Award.

Their high energy musical style appeals to people of all ages. The versatility of The Williamsons is evident through the wide variety of musical styles they perform. There is always something for everyone. The marketing of their performances targets families and not just fans of any particular type of music. Spending an evening with The Williamsons is sure to be one that will lift you up, bless you, and entertain you all at the same time. Their primary desire is to share the Gospel in such a way that those in attendance who do not know Jesus Christ will come to know him before the program is over.
