First, I want to congratulate Carol Barham of Vernon, Alabama - last week’s winner of our “Fast 5 in 25” fundraiser/ giveaway. Thank you, Carol, for your generous contribution to the 25th Anniversary event! I am grateful beyond words to all who have contributed to help make the 25th Anniversary a success. However, we are still far from the much needed goal of $5000.00. At the time of my writing this newsletter, we have raised $1335.00 in our ‘Fast 5 in 25,” leaving us still $3665.00 short. I hope you know my heart by now. I simply do not like asking for financial help, and it has never been a common practice for this ministry. In 25 years of ministry it has been on extremely rare occasions that I have done so when we needed emergency help with transportation repairs in years past. And, incidentally, the need was met with the faithful, prompt response of so many precious people. But, as would be obvious, the lack of response in support of this event - thus far - has fallen way short. There are ten days remaining of our “Fast 5 in 25” fundraiser, and we’re only three weeks away from the celebration event. There are over 3,000 subscribers to this newsletter and just over 1,400 who “like” the John Lanier Ministries Facebook page. We only need 733 more people to give a small gift of just $5.00 to reach our goal. I am reminded of David’s words in Psalm 37:25 - “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” As humbly and plainly as I know how to say it, I need your help, and I am still trusting God for a miracle. In other news regarding the 25th Anniversary...the fellowship breakfast on Saturday morning has been sold out, no seats remain available. Thanks to all who have planned to be with us for this intimate time of fun and fellowship! I also want to announce that Rev. Chuck Spradlin, pastor of Fresh Fire Christian Ministries in Villa Rica, Georgia, has just been added as a special guest speaker during the fellowship breakfast. Among the music and other activities planned for this special time, Pastor Spradlin will bring a message that is sure to inspire and encourage. He has been a friend of mine for several years, and I have ministered with him on several occasions. I am honored to have him as my special guest to share the Word of God at the 25th Anniversary fellowship breakfast. I am also thrilled to announce the addition of some very special guests for our evening worship services! Gravitation Worship - the youth praise team of Mt. Zion Tabernacle in Inman, South Carolina will be singing during our worship services. I have seen these youth in action, and I can tell you that God uses these dedicated young people in an awesome way to lift up His name and draw people into His presence. You don't want to miss it! If you haven’t already made plans to join me in Oxford, Alabama to celebrate 25 years of music and ministry, I urge you to mark it on your calendar now! Click here for more information. In the meantime, here’s where I’ll be ministering this weekend: July 20, 10:00am, Gospel of Christ Tabernacle, 1099 Hwy 51 N, Covington, TN July 20, 6:00pm, Rosemark Full Gospel, 7280 Kerr/Rosemark Rd, Millington, TN I hope to see you soon! |
