Southern Sound Graces Stage Of The Madam Carroll Cruise Ship

Nashville, TN (July 25, 2014) Outstanding Gospel Artists, Southern Sound, recently performed on the The Madam Carroll Cruise Ship. Singing to a capacity crowd Southern Sound thrilled the ship's crew and passengers with their smooth harmonies.
Ben Harris, Lead singer and Manager of the group stated “There is something really special about singing along with the movement of the ship. It seems even the audience receives the music in a special way.”

Further commenting on the cruise, Tenor Will Shaw said “We were singing songs from our newest project “Timeless”. The message of our songs didn't care if we were on Lake Freeman in Monticello, IN or on the Atlantic Ocean, hearts were touched and blessed by the songs we sang.”

Southern Sound also recently performed at the 2014 Absolutely Gospel Music Festival in Smyrna, TN. Well received by the crowd, their singing had the fans on their feet several times with standing ovations.

The Madam Carroll Cruise Ship has been around for 38 years. The total capacity is 500 passengers.
She was built from scratch by Captain Bill Luse, and in 2012 the Madam Carroll was purchased by Tom Heckard of Logansport. Heckard brought new ideas and amazing renovations and is proud to carry on this community’s tradition.

If the Madam were on salt water, she would be classified as a ship. She is 135 feet in length with a beam of 36 feet. She is powered by twin V-8 Detroit Diesel Engines and cruises at 10 knots. She carries 750 gallons of fresh water and 825 gallons of diesel fuel.

About Southern Sound
A brief overview is simply a thumbnail sketch of what Southern Sound is really all about. In a word, Southern Sound Quartet is classy. They are deeply rooted in traditional Southern Gospel, four-part close harmony and in the testimony that Christ is Lord. I was fortunate to hear the group recently at a large church near my home, and they were indeed breathtaking. I lost count of the standing ovations they received that evening from a packed church, quite accustomed to hearing the finest Southern Gospel has to offer. The concert I attended will stay with me for quite some time, but even now, I hunger for more. Southern Sound’s attitude, infectious enthusiasm, stage presence, and fine sense of Spirit-filled music, makes a concert by Southern Sound one to be cherished for a very long while.
