UP Presents the UP Premiere Movie Summer Snow

Premieres Exclusively on Up, Sunday, August 17 at 8 p.m. EST / 7 p.m. PST

ATLANTA, Aug. 5, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- UP presents the UP Premiere Movie Summer Snow, an emotional family drama about how the generous spirit and selfless love of a creative 8-year-old little girl transforms the lives of all those around. Written and directed by brother/sister duo Jeremy White and Kendra White (Paper Dream), Summer Snow will premiere exclusively on UP on Sunday, August 17 at 8:00 p.m. EST /7:00 p.m. PST.

Produced by American Family Studios and filmed in Lexington, Kentucky, Summer Snow stars Rachel Eggleston (Bereave, "House MD"), David Chisum (Flight of the Living Dead, "Black Box"), Cameron Goodman (Benjamin Troubles, "90210"), Garrett Backstrom (The Motel Life, "Lab Rats"), Matthew Alan (The Surrogate, "Criminal Minds") with Brett Rice (Mom's Night Out, The Blind Side).

Summer Snow tells the story of an 8-year old girl named Hallie Benson (Rachel Eggleston), whose heart is bigger than she is. Hallie is always thinking of creative unconventional ways to help those around her. Whether it's baking cookies for sulky neighbors or selling toothbrushes for a friend, Hallie's acts of kindness always seem to leave a terrible mess for her father Dr. Dan Benson (David Chisum) to clean up. Plus, Dan is struggling to get it all together after the death of his loving wife. He has no idea how to cook, how to comb a child's hair, or how to help any of his three kids -- Hallie, high-school student David (Garrett Backstrom) or newly-engaged Julie (Cameron Goodman) -- without the aid of his deceased wife and her rock solid faith in God. Although Hallie is a handful, her generous spirit and charitable love touches her community and transforms the hearts of those around her.

"Summer Snow is a beautiful, uplifting movie for August about a family trying to find their new 'normal' after the death of the mother," said Sophia Kelley, senior vice president of programming, UP. "Each member of this family has to figure out who they are without the 'guiding light' that was their mom and wife. Through a lovely turn of events, they all receive a surprise when they least expect it, which ultimately helps put them back on a path of healing and hope."
