Mercy's Well News

From Mercy's Well newsletter of October 25, 2012:

It has been a couple of weeks since our last update, so allow us to catch you up on everything that's been going on! Our Ohio and Michigan weekend was a real blessing. Two of the churches we visited were new for us, and two were places we had sung before. Overall, it was a great weekend.

Monday the 15th was our first day in the studio working on our new Christmas CD, which we are excited to announce will be entitled BETHLEHEM SKY! Even though we only had four days to work, we were able to get most of the project complete. Brad will be flying back out to Nashville next week to oversee the final additions being made (strings, brass, etc). These are the little things that really make the songs POP! We cannot wait to hear the finished product!

Last weekend was a sweet time for us, as we celebrated homecoming with our friends at Landmark FCOG in Princeton, WV. These folks have become like family to us, and it was so good to see them all again. Sunday evening was also special, as it allowed us the opportunity to visit the church of the young boy we mentioned on our Facebook page earlier this summer. Riley Gardner is 4 yrs old, and has been diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. He was able to come to our concert, and was singing along from the front row for most of the evening. He was too shy to come up on stage and sing with us, but that's okay...he was the star of the show, regardless! We ask that you continue to keep Riley and his entire community in your prayers. Thank You!

May God bless you all! Have a great week!

In Christ,
Brad, Greg & Kyle

Soul’d Out Quartet Adds Ian Owens As New Bass

Since the departure of long time bass singer Matt Fouch, in mid August, Soul’d Out Quartet has been diligently seeking God and following his leading in the attempt to find the right person to be our bass singer. Despite having met many great people through the audition process, we (the men of Soul’d Out) had made the decision to remain a trio unless God provided the absolute right fit for our team and ministry.
Soul’d Out Quartet is thrilled to announce that God has provided us with the right bass singer!! We are so excited to have Ian Owens joining the Soul’d Out family! You may have heard Ian’s name before as the bass singer for Gospel Quartets such as “The Imperials” and “Ernie Haase and Signature Sound”.

Ian has 12 years of full time ministry in gospel music and we are so pleased that this chapter of our lives brings us together to proclaim the Good News!! Ian’s first appearance with Soul’d Out will be on November 9th, 2012. We ask for your prayers for both Ian and the current Soul’d Out members as we transition into this new and very exciting time. God has great things in store for this ministry! Come and see us when we are in your area and welcome Ian aboard! Dusty, Michael, Bryan, Rick and Matt.

Soul'd Out Website: http://www.souldoutquartet.com/home.cfm

From: Ian Owens
“After spending a weekend on the road with Soul’d Out Quartet, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that joining their team is God’s will for my life. I am very excited to have the opportunity to spread the Word of God with such strong men of faith and integrity! Matt, Bryan, Dusty, and Michael all have such a sincere and earnest desire to see souls won and lives changed. I absolutely can not wait to be “pounding the pavement” with these awesome men! However…..I’m scared I may not be much of a bass singer for them if I’m always hoarse from laughing at them! They’re funny!!”

Ernie Haase And Signature Sound Tour Dates

From EHSS email newsletter October 24, 2012:

Hello Friends of EHSS:

Well this was the first official EHSS weekend for our new bass singer Paul Harkey.

Four shows, one of which was a Gaither Homecoming Concert, was quite a way to start his tenure. We were so encouraged by the people's welcoming spirit towards Paul, and we sincerely appreciate everyone's support.

Getting to know Paul has been great. He has a soothing, calm way about him...like a big ole teddy bear! Each night after the concerts its so touching to see him on his cell phone smiling from ear to ear, with tears in his eyes as he shares with his wife all the happenings of the day.

We praise the Lord for providing us with what we need. Just one more reason to trust Him more, and thats "Reason Enough" for me!

Please come out to see and hear why we are all so excited! Here's where we'll be for the next few weeks ...

Merry Christmas!!!

Yep, I know a little early, but that is what I have been doing this year. I’ve been getting things done early, even if I don’t do it quite right. Case in point: I have already bought all my Christmas presents and started wrapping them. I got half of them wrapped and realized I used the wrong wrapping paper!

The paper doesn’t say “Merry Christmas” … it says, “Happy Birthday!” I didn’t let that get me down; I just took a Sharpie® out and wrote “Jesus” at the end on each one. :)

It may be early, but I want you to plan in advance to share an evening with EHSS on one of our 2012 Christmas tour dates. All of these dates are going to be fun and full of holiday cheer and YES, we will celebrate the birth of our Savior ... on purpose.

Let me draw your attention to one special weekend.

December 14th and 15th will be very special for me. My Alma Mater, Castle High School in Newburgh, Indiana, is hosting not one but TWO EHSS Christmas shows. I have not been able to sing in my high school since I left in 1983. This will be a special time to reconnect with friends and family. The Castle High Choir and Show Choir will also join us. That’s right! The very same show choir that I learned all my moves from back in the day.

I cannot tell you how pumped I am about this weekend! I’d love to have you come and spend the weekend in historic Newburgh, Indiana. The riverfront is just minutes from the venue and there are plenty of boutiques, shopping and fine eating establishments.

So, make your plans early! To purchase your tickets, go to one, or both of the following links

December 14th Concert
December 15th Concert

To purchase tickets for either of these concerts by phone please call (800) 965-9324.

Here is the full schedule of the EHSS Christmas Tour:

NOV 30, 2012 - Cape May Court House, NJ
DEC 1, 2012 - Wheeling, WV
DEC 2, 2012 - Hamilton, OH

DEC 6, 2012 - Chatham, Ontario CANADA
DEC 7, 2012 - Wabash, IN
DEC 9, 2012 - Jim Thorpe, PA

DEC 13, 2012 - Lexington, SC
DEC 14, 2012 - Newburgh, IN - ** Ernie's Hometown **
DEC 15, 2012 - Newburgh, IN - ** Ernie's Hometown **
DEC 16, 2012 - Newark, OH

All in all, this tour is looking to be the best Christmas Tour yet ... in fact, I’m planning on it in advance!

And while we are talking Christmas…

I also wanted to share with you some great news about our StowTown Records artist The Collingsworth Family. They have a brand new CD and DVD out called Feels Like Christmas.
This project is out-of-this-world good! And I’m proud to say our partners at Provident / Sony have just informed us that both Lifeway Christian Stores and Family Christian Stores have just added Feels Like Christmas to their shelves this week.
Please go out and support The Collingsworth Family, StowTown Records & Christian retail stores. It’s people like you that keep these quality establishments spreading the Gospel.

In closing, here is a little video clip of the making of Feels Like Christmas. Click here to view! ENJOY! ...

Cheers,

Karen Kingsbury's The Bridge Debuts October 23

‘THE BRIDGE’ FROM NO. 1 NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLER KAREN KINGSBURY DEBUTS OCT. 23

WHAT: Karen Kingsbury is a No. 1 New York Times and USA Today best-seller with nearly 20 million books in print and recognized by Time magazine and the Today Show for her Life-Changing Fiction ™. Oct. 23, she debuts her latest novel, The Bridge, her first in a 10-book contract with Howard Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

WHO: Karen Kingsbury is America’s favorite inspirational novelist. More than 20 million copies of her award-winning books are in print, with several million copies sold in the past year. Karen has written dozens of Life-Changing Fiction™ titles, 15 of which hit No. 1 on national lists. Her public speaking reaches more than 100,000 women annually at various national events. Karen lives and works in Franklin, Tenn., with her husband, Don, and their five sons, three adopted from Haiti. Living nearby is their only daughter, Kelsey, an actress in inspirational films and married to Christian recording artist Kyle Kupecky.

WHY: Why does No. 1 New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury trademark her storytelling as Life-Changing Fiction™? Because her novels change lives, as her readers frequently tell her. Because at the heart of Karen’s books are well-written stories based on characters readers care about. As her audience widens even further, expect to see the Kingsbury effect spread beyond her current reach:

Karen’s dozens of books have sold 20 million copies.
Karen Facebook page has nearly 300,000 friends.
Each month KarenKingsbury.com receives 8 million hits.
Karen’s Twitter account has more than 30,000 followers.
A monthly e-newsletter reaches 120,000 subscribers, and 70 percent of them click through the letter to her site.
Through various national events, each year Karen speaks to more than 100,000 women.

SYNOPSIS: An unforgettable love story set against the demise of the American bookstore, The Bridge is a tale for the times and figures to be Karen Kingsbury’s biggest book to date. For three decades The Bridge bookstore connected the people of Franklin, Tenn., with cherished stories and with Charlie and Donna Barton, the store’s owners. And the store connected them to each other. But not all stories starting at The Bridge had happy endings. Five years earlier, Molly and Ryan were two college students united in a shared faith, love of music and an undeniable attraction to each other. The two were separated by circumstances that cut their story short and left them with what looked to be a lifetime of questions.

When a hundred-year flood devastates the town and nearly destroys The Bridge, Charlie loses spirit and begins to doubt whether his work in books has mattered. As Christmas approaches, another tragedy strikes and all hope seems lost. Molly and Ryan return to Franklin, neither expecting to see the other, and both needing a miracle. Can the people of Franklin rally around The Bridge and find the second chances they all need? The story of The Bridge reminds us that our love for books matters. This story for our times will stay in your heart forever.

What happens to bookstores in the age of digital publishing?—Karen Kingsbury’s The Bridge is more than an inspiring novel, it’s a love letter to small, independently owned bookstores battling for their place in a changing industry and beloved by those who thrill at the touch of a paper page.

Karen Kingsbury expands her already wide reach—The Bridge is Karen’s first work in a 10-book contract with Simon & Schuster imprint Howard Books. With it, Karen—who already has reached millions with her writings—reaches an even wider audience. Her story is worth telling, and book lovers everywhere will be talking about her soon.

The Hoppers Release Count Me In

(Nashville, TN – October 22, 2012) – One of Gospel music’s most awarded and acclaimed family groups The Hoppers are excited to release their all-new studio recording, Count Me In, today October 23. Family members Kim, Dean, Connie, Claude and Michael Hopper joined hands with industry veteran producer Michael Sykes, along with co-production from Kim and Mike, to bring this collection of songs to life.

“Michael Sykes took us under his wing and revived a bit of old-school soul in all of us,” described Connie. “You can hear the emotion and conviction in our wavering voices throughout this album, and we intentionally didn't edit any of that emotion out. We set a path for ourselves, musically, to simply do something different...something that hopefully makes you feel God's Spirit.”

“We discovered we didn't have to go about this in the standard ‘ABC recording fashion,’” explained Kim. “Instead, we dove head first into recording vocals with only a click track, later adding the instrumentation and definitive melody around our voices. This is contrary to what we normally do, and it gave such a freedom in tracking! We were able to do so much more with the emotion of each song.”

That passion is evident on Count Me In, complete with lush orchestration and unmistakable, seamless harmonies. The release features stirring power ballads, for which the group has long been known, with new offerings such as “He Didn’t Just Carry the Cross He Carried Me” and “I Am Whatever You Need.” For Hoppers’ fans whose favorite tunes are the group’s contagious upbeat melodies, the new release includes “Mighty Is the Word,” “I’ll Take You Home” and the title cut and first radio single “Count Me In,” currently climbing the airplay charts.

From catchy choruses to reflective strains, the recording captures some special moments for the avid Gospel music fan with a cover of the Bill and Gloria Gaither classics “I Just Feel Like Something Good Is About to Happen” and “I Will Serve Thee,” an easygoing version of “If I Can Help Somebody” and a re-make of the thought-provoking ballad “I Wish We’d All Been Ready,” which finds Connie delivering a heartfelt, earnest vocal alongside the family’s signature blends and emotional interpretations.

“We've found that what you sing doesn't just have to line up with what you believe, it has to be your burden- your heart- as you sing it,” stated Dean. “The Hoppers have definitely evolved musically over the past 55 years, but so has circumstance. Count Me In is our representation of where we are now with a nod to where we've been and, most importantly, where we are going. This album is such a monumental thing for us.”

The Hoppers are recent inductees into the Gospel Music Association’s (GMA’s) Hall of Fame, and they have just returned from The Singing News Fan Awards where Kim was awarded Favorite Soprano and Favorite Female Singer only a couple of weeks after being named Favorite Soprano at the first annual National Quartet Convention (NQC) Awards, held in Louisville, Ky.

The group enjoyed recent success with the release The Gaither Gospel Series: The Best of The Hoppers (Gaither Music Group). The DVD soared to #2 on Billboard’s video chart while the CD entered the Billboard Heatseeker chart at #4. Additionally, the CD entered the Nielsen SoundScan southern gospel chart at #1 and the Contemporary Christian chart at #10.

The Hoppers maintain a heavy touring schedule, performing on the Gaither Homecoming video series, at the National Quartet Convention, at the Great Western Gospel Music Fan Festival, at the Cove and at Singing in the Sun in addition to around 150 solo dates annually.

Count Me In, distributed exclusively through EMI CMG Distribution, is available at online outlets, including iTunes. It is also be available in retail stores where Christian music is sold. For further information regarding The Hoppers, please visit www.thehoppers.com.

Please visit www.Facebook.com/TheHoppersOfficial to view special behind-the-scenes videos from The Hoppers’ time in the studio, or visit them on Twitter: @CDeanHopper, and @HoppersMusic.

'Work, Love, Pray' Launches Oct. 23: Book Offers New GPS to Women's Career-Life Balance

UPDATED ‘WORK, LOVE, PRAY’ LAUNCHES OCT. 23: NEW GPS TO WOMEN’S CAREER-LIFE BALANCE

WHAT: Can executive women have it all? Wrong question, so says Diane Paddison, a high-level corporate executive and author of Work, Love, Pray, guiding career women to balance work, family and faith values. Starting with her own story, Paddison, chief strategy officer of Cassidy Turley, advises on grad school, first jobs, marriage, finding family-friendly companies—and keeping family first.

Read Paddison’s Recent USA Today Op-Ed http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2012/10/09/full-time-ceo-doesnt-equal-part-time-mom/1623389/

WHO: Diane Paddison, Harvard MBA, is chief strategy officer of Cassidy Turley and three times the only female member on the executive team at a Fortune 500 company. She’s also a wife, mother and Christian. Diane founded and heads 4word, a city-by-city and online organization linking career women with mentors and peers.

WHEN: Work, Love, Pray lands in bookstores and on Amazon and Kindle Oct. 23, 2012

WHY: The Atlantic, The Economist, USA Today and others are debating career vs. motherhood. Paddison steps in with practical advice. It’s not either/or, she says; and while “having it all” is a myth, balance is not. Paddison also is behind the growing number of 4word city chapters—the long-missing link between career women and mentors and peers.

SYNOPSIS: As women rise in today's workforce, old best practices fall short. Work, Love, Pray is new personal wisdom for every stage in the burgeoning category of women’s professional lives. Along with her own ups and downs, Diane presents 15 other “been there” female execs with sound advice on career progress without compromise. Work, Love, Pray also is a must-read for husbands, pastors and mentors.

STORY IDEAS: In USA Today—Does Full-Time Career Mean Part-Time Mom? Yahoo’s new CEO Marissa Mayer, hired while she was pregnant, gave birth in October. Diane’s recent op-ed in USA Today builds on Mayer’s example to say that both rearing children and rising in a career, increasingly, are women’s new normal.

Do Churches “Get” It? The small-but-growing trend for churches supporting moms with careers echoes stats in Work, Love, Pray:

For the first time, women in the workplace outnumber men.
In 1971 only 3 percent of all lawyers were women, today, it’s 37 percent.
The percentage of women in college (57 percent) tops men (43 percent).
Almost half of all law and medical degrees go to women, up from about 10 percent in 1970.

HOPPERS RELEASE FIRST-EVER CONCEPT VIDEO!

(Nashville, TN – October 22, 2012) – The Hoppers, known as "America's Favorite Family of Gospel Music, are proud to present their first-ever concept video for the song "I Wish We'd All Been Ready." The song is from their brand-new release Count Me In which releases on October 23, 2012.

Connie Hopper states: "I first heard 'I Wish We'd All Been Ready' in the early seventies and haven't heard it performed since. I had never given any thought to recording the song, but the message stayed with me through the years. While choosing material for Count Me In, I asked our producer if he remembered this particular tune. Without a breath, he rolled out the intro on his keyboard, and the lyrics came from memory. As we look at today's turmoil, in the home and around the world, we know this message is timeless. Matthew 24:44 says, 'BE READY for in an hour as ye think not the Son Of Man cometh.' I pray that we're all ready!"

The video, directed and filmed by Patrick Tohill, can be seen on the official Facebook page of the Hoppers at www.Facebook.com/TheHoppersOfficial.

Country Music Legend, Collin Raye, Launches Foundation After CMA Nov 1 in Memory of His Late Granddaughter, Haley

Country Music Awards Late Night Gala Draws Stars to Perform and Launch Collin Raye's Blessed Chair Foundation, in Memory of Granddaughter Haley Who Passed Away

Jamie O'Neal, John Berry among music artists who will perform with Raye after the CMAs on November 1st in downtown Nashville; new foundation will provide wheelchairs to help families of disabled children.

NASHVILLE, Oct. 19, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- It's been a long and painful two years since Haley Bell, granddaughter of multi-platinum country music star, Collin Raye, died at age nine from an undiagnosed neurological disorder. But "Poppi," as Haley called him, has moved back to Nashville and has turned the pain of Haley's death into a way of helping families who are unable to afford wheelchairs for their disabled children. More about the event is here: www.countrylatenight.com.

"For my daughter Britanny (Haley's mother) and I, the reality of the Blessed Chair Foundation gives us purpose beyond the pain and hurt of losing our sweet angel, Haley," says Raye, who charted 16 #1 hits, and 24 Top 10 hits through the 90's with songs like "Love Me," "In This Life," "Little Rock," and "One Boy, One Girl." In 2011, Raye's first inspirational album, His Love Remains, was released and remains the #1 reviewed Christian CD on Amazon.com.

The newly formed foundation is named from lyrics in the song "She's with Me," a song Collin Raye wrote about Haley when she was still alive. Collin sings about her "Blessed Chair" which carried Haley everywhere with the family and which greatly improved the quality of Haley's life.

According to the Survey of Income and Program Participation, there are 3.4 million wheelchair/scooter users among the U.S. non-institutional population ages 6+, which represents 1.3% of the U.S. population ages 6 and over. There are many families of special needs children who are working hard to make ends meet yet cannot afford to purchase a basic wheelchair that they need to improve the quality of life of their loved one. This foundation seeks to reach and help these families.

Country music stars Jamie O'Neal, John Berry and other country music artists are scheduled to perform with Raye after the CMA Awards on November 1st. The event will be an elegant evening of live performances, premium bar and gourmet food at The aVenue in downtown Nashville. This event will be the official launch for The Haley Bell Blessed Chair Foundation. Many other artists are expected to stop by or perform (pending official confirmations). Artists unable to attend but donating autographed guitars include Vince Gill, Neal McCoy, John Michael Montgomery and Joe Diffie.

The Foundation is partnering with Cradle Concepts, LLC, Collin's record label, and Custom Travel Incentives, CTI, a New York City-based marketing firm providing a trusted resource for corporate hospitality, trip incentives, promotions and special event production. A member of the Country Music Association since 2006, CTI is also the exclusive travel packager for Broadway Across America.

To purchase tickets to Country Late Night 2012 with Collin Raye, to donate a wheelchair or for more information on Collin Raye's CMA After Party, go to www.countrylatenight.com. For Interviews please call Kristina Hernandez at 703-373-0632 or email khernandez@crcpublicrelations.com.

Gold City News

From Gold City e-newsletter October 19, 2012:

Weekend Rewind...

The old song "I’ve Been Everywhere" would be fitting for us to sing this week! In the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen GA, MS, MO, TN, IN, VA, and all points in between. We sang in an old renovated school house called The Gospel Barn. We visited Tony Gore’s Smokey Mountain BBQ restaurant, where we were forced to eat everything from his delicious hamburgers to the baked banana pudding. Hey, it’s a tough gig, but our mothers taught us to be polite and clean our plates. After waddling to the bus, we headed on. We even sang in a cave! The Lesters are some of our dear gospel music singing friends and their annual Fall Festival of Gospel Music is held in a cave at Meramec Caverns. It’s one of the most unique places we’ve ever sung. Just a full couple of weeks, and we love keeping busy for the Lord and all you friends who come out to see us.

On The Mend...

For the many folks who have asked, Danny has been off the road a few weeks recovering from some sinus surgery. He’s on the mend and will be back on the road next week. Thank you to Lance Talley, Chris Whitaker, Staclynn Faulkner and Howard Stewart for standing in the gap during Danny's absence.

Save The Date!

Gold City is going to NEW YORK CITY! We’re making a trip to the Big Apple! The final plans are being made, but we can tell you we will be singing at Times Square Church on December 1st! We’re all excited about this event and hope you can make plans to be with us. Perhaps a get-away weekend to NYC during the Christmas season is something you’ve always wanted to do. Well, make your plans and include us in them.

Come Cruise With Us...

We’re going cruising in January. Come be a part of a wonderful week January 20-27, 2013 as we sail to Cozumel, Grand Caymen, and Jamaica. Our website has a link to all the details, so go to www.goldcityqt.com and click on the logo, then make your plans to sail with us!

Concert Alert!!

We will be in Vicksburg, MS on Saturday, October 20th at Triumph Church at 7 p.m. Due to a schedule cancellation, this was a recently booked date, so if you’re in the area, we hope to see you at this event.

Thank You!!

We appreciate all the folks who called in and requested our last single, Lord Of Life, making it top out at number 2. Now our next single, I Get Down, has been sent out to radio, so call your radio stations and request this song today!

Danny's Favorite Quote Of The Week..

"God deserves first place in your life... and you deserve the experience of putting Him there." -Criswell Freeman

Coming Up...

We’ve got some exciting dates coming up in the future, so check out our schedule to see where we’re going to be. Above all, please pray for our safety and our effectiveness in sharing the gospel with great folks who need to know about Jesus.

Called Out Quartet News

From Called Out Quartet Newsletter October 18, 2012:

Only 29 days left until Called Out Quartet's 6th Annual Southern Gospel Celebration at the Spirit of the Smokies Condo Lodge located in Pigeon Forge, TN. The temps are headed down to the 30's this weekend in Pigeon Forge, and that means it's time to start thinking about Christmas. This year will again feature Called Out Quartet with the legendary Eddie Crook on piano, and our special guest HisVoice from Knoxville, TN. And as usual, we will be doing a special Called Out Quartet Christmas concert on Saturday night...and who knows what other surprises could get added into that.

As we mentioned in our last update, we have made some upgrades to this years Southern Gospel Celebration! To start with, we have moved locations...The 2012 Southern Gospel Celebration will be held at the Spirit of the Smokies Condo Lodge located in beautiful Pigeon Forge, TN. This condo lodge is newly-remodeled, has 160 condos, and has room options of Double Queen and King Jacuzzi units with private balconies and deluxe Queen fireplace rooms. Each room has deluxe pillow top beds, a 32" flat-screen TV, mini-refrigerator, microwave, coffee/tea maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The Deluxe Queen Fireplace Suite features a gas fireplace with a full size kitchen with stove top, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, dining table for four and a twin sleeper sofa. This condo lodge also offers adjoining units for those of you with a big group that might want to stay together (or maybe stay together some of the time and have your own room some of the time). We have also upgraded our Saturday morning Breakfast (which is included in the Lodge Package)...this year it will be an ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet (with all breakfast food options) held at the "Wood Grill Buffet" located adjacent to the condo lodge.

So your're probably thinking this will cost way to much since they added all of these upgrades, and if so you would be thinking "incorrectly" (that's a nice southern way to say you're wrong...LOL). The Lodge Package for 2 people is $259.00...NOT $259.00 per person, but $259.00 for 2 persons. Then it's an extra $50.00 per person in the same room. Maybe you don't want to stay at this hotel, and if so there are ticket and pass options also available again this year. Tickets are $20.00 per person, per night...and Family Passes (which include 2 adults and all children 18 & under) are $75.00 for the whole weekend. For more information about these options just visit our website. So what are you waiting for, get signed up today before it's too late!

Engaging, Inspiring 'The Perfect Gift'--Perfect DVD for Christmas Season; Debuts Nov. 6

FILMMAKER JEFFERSON MOORE’S ‘THE PERFECT GIFT’
IS A PERFECT DVD FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Funny, Uplifting Family Film Offers a God’s-Eye View
on the ‘Christmas vs. Holiday’ Debate

DALLAS – Oct. 17, 2012 – From actor and filmmaker Jefferson Moore—and featuring exciting young actress Christina Fougnie—comes an early Christmas delivery for the whole family—THE PERFECT GIFT, available on DVD Nov. 6.

What if your birthday fell on Christmas and you decided that this year would be a celebration about you alone? Welcome to THE PERFECT GIFT, where one young girl learns the real meaning of Christmas from a mysterious wanderer who seems to know a lot about it.

“In addition to being a funny, uplifting film, THE PERFECT GIFT is timely and timeless,” said Moore, who wrote, directed and stars in the movie. “It lands in the middle of the ‘holiday’ versus ‘Christmas’ debate, and then it clearly communicates the eternal message of hope that Christmas is truly all about.”

THE PERFECT GIFT poses a challenging question: What if the world threw you a birthday party . . . but you weren’t invited? Stacy is an overworked single mom whose spoiled daughter, Maxine, hates having a birthday that falls on Dec. 25. Tired of sharing her special day with the rest of the world, Max refuses to acknowledge the true significance of the holiday. But all that changes when she’s forced to spend afternoons at the local church. It’s there she meets Jess, a mysterious drifter who’s helping construct a nativity scene. Jess knows everything there is to know about the true meaning of Christmas, and if Max pays attention, she might learn an important lesson about faith, tradition and the real reason for the season.

Jefferson Moore is well-known as an actor, writer and director for The Perfect Stranger TV film series and films such as CLANCY, also starring Fougnie, and 1 MESSAGE.

Kelly’s Filmworks produced THE PERFECT GIFT with distribution by EchoLight Studios. DVDs can be pre-ordered now with deliveries and immediate sales starting Nov. 6.

Lee Roy of THE ROYS Awarded No. 1 Inspirational Country Single Plaque For I Wonder What God's Thinking

Editor Jason Higgins. Credit: Wyneka Thomas Photography

Nashville, TN (October 17, 2012) -- Lee Roy of the award-winning brother/sister duo THE ROYS was honored Monday when he received a plaque from Power Source Magazine for his Number 1 Inspirational Country Single, "I Wonder What God's Thinking." The presentation took place during Day 2 of Inspirational Country Music Week (October 14-18) aboard the historic General Jackson Showboat. Honorees and luncheon attendees enjoyed a scenic cruise and were entertained with live performances by Geoffrey Andrews, Russ Murphy, Steve Richard, Laura Dodd and Larissa. "I Wonder What God's Thinking" questions the Lord's perception of today's often selfish society that frequently ignores our fellow humans in need. The poignant song was featured on THE ROYS' extremely popular and critically-acclaimed Rural Rhythm Records' debut CD, LONESOME WHISTLE.

"Every award is meaningful in its own way," comments Lee. "But to be recognized for my efforts as a songwriter is especially humbling, since I believe in divine inspiration. I wrote it after watching the news and considering how separated so many of us seem to have become from each other and from God."

Lee and his sister Elaine comprise THE ROYS, a powerhouse duo that's repeatedly rocketed up the charts and grown in popularity during the past two years. Their August-issue EP, NEW DAY DAWNING, debuted at Number 2 on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums Chart in early September and two weeks later the disc had risen to Number 1 on Amazon's Bluegrass Best Sellers list. The EP's first single release, "Still Standing," debuted on the Power Source Bluegrass Top 35 chart this month.

The reigning ICM's Bluegrass Artist of the Year, THE ROYS, are candidates for nomination in three award categories for 2012: Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year and Bluegrass Artist of the Year.

The siblings are playing an active role in this year's Inspirational Country Music Week, with appearances on Sunday, October 14 (ICM Opening Ceremony at Cornerstone Church) and on Thursday, October 18 as they kick off the 20th Anniversary of the ICM Faith, Family & Country™ Awards Show with the evening's first performance.

Paul Harkey Joins Ernie Haase and Signature Sound

Southern Gospel fans are already buzzing with word that a new bass singer is joining Ernie Haase and Signature Sound.

On blogs and online forums, it seems to be unanimous that while music lovers are sad to see Ian Owens move on to other opportunities, they are excited that Paul Harkey will be the newest member of EHSS -- and that opinion is shared by none other than Ian himself! Warm, funny Ian Owens took the time to call and to post a heartfelt congratulatory welcome on Paul's Facebook page, and that kind of support can only make the transition even more positive for the whole EHSS family. And since Paul Harkey calls George Younce one of his early influences -- especially George's rhythm, his phrasing, and his heart -- the young bass singer can’t help but feel right at home with Ernie Haase, son-in-law of the late great Cathedrals bass singer. According to Ernie, Paul Harkey "has a voice that fills up the room," and will bring "another level of excitement" to any live listening audience.

On the road since 2007, Paul Harkey has enjoyed singing and touring with respected groups like Crystal River, Anchormen, and The LeFevre Quartet. With a bachelor's degree in Church Music from Wayland Baptist University, this Texas native is well-prepared for a new adventure with Signature Sound. “I was called into ministry,” Paul said about his positive time serving as a church minister of music, but was encouraged to learn that singing on the road is “what I’m supposed to do,” and “lets me fulfill what God's will is for me.”

Paul, a self-described “regular guy” who loves hunting and fishing, has the support of his whole family as he joins Ernie Haase and Signature Sound. He and his wife Jennifer, and their daughter Cameron are also looking forward to meeting a new member of their family -- due in late April, 2013.

When the founder of Signature Sound contacted Paul Harkey to let him know that he'd been hired, Ernie Haase explained why Paul was a good match for the group: "Your voice and your talent will get you on the stage; the person you are off the stage will keep you on the stage." Without a doubt, all of the guys in EHSS share Ernie's confidence about the connection Paul Harkey is certain to make with the fans, and they are excited to invite everyone to experience a never-to-be-repeated event -- Paul's debut concert with Ernie Haase and Signature Sound in Elizabethtown, NC, on October 18, 2012.
