As the air grows cooler, Gospel Music fans’ thoughts turn to the Creekside Gospel Music Convention in October. In Pigeon Forge, The Smoky Mountain Convention Center staff is booking rooms for the incoming Convention attendees. Beginning on Monday, October 28, Creekside opens at5:00pm with some of Gospel music’s favorite artists, preparing the audience for the main event. Well-known Gospel music personality, Lou Wills Hildreth, will take the stage to present a special gala to honor Mr. Ed O’Neal of the Dixie Melody Boys. Past and present Dixie Melody Boys members will be present for an evening of fun and remembrance.
Tuesday, October 29 will begin with a Chapel service by Dr. Jeff Steele. Creekside is excited to have this beloved Pastor with us for the entire Convention, providing words of encouragement and hope.
Tuesday is also the day for Patterson Promotions as they follow Dr. Steele with a 10:00am morning concert. Their guests will be The Boynton Elementary Chorus, an energetic choir of young people nationally recognized for their high energy and upbeat performances as well as Phil Cross, The Hoskins Family, The Cookes and many more.
The 2013 Diamond Awards Show will be held Tuesdaynight, a celebration of special artist performances as winners are announced from fan selection across the nation. Join us as we award the best in Southern, Country and Bluegrass Gospel music.
On Wednesday, October 30, the schedule is full of exciting events not to be missed. From Dr. Jeff Steele’s Chapel service to showcases of great music, fans will enjoy the jam-packed day of Gospel Music. At 1:30pm, the Creekside stage will welcome a choir of Gospel artists and a live band for the Old Time Gospel Sing. Special impromptu quartets and trios from the choir will sing Gospel favorites and hymns.
The final concert on Wednesday will be a delightful evening of Southern, Country and Bluegrass Gospel. A special closing ceremony will be held.
Creekside Gospel Music Convention will serve again as a collection location for a local ministry called, “Live-It!” Live-It is a non-profit ministry serving the less fortunate in Sevier and surrounding counties. Live-It will provide a truck to receive donations of items including used clothing, jewelry, books, toys, shoes, fashion accessories and music CDs. Please bring your unwanted, gently used items to the Convention Center. All items collected will be used for re-sale in Live-It’s thrift store, profits earned purchases needed products and supplies to those in desperate need. Please help Creekside serve this community!
