Red Roots Honored with Dove Nomination

Triplicity included in GMA’s Country Album of the Year Dove Award Nominations

(Hendersonville, TN) – Red Hen Records is pleased to announce that Triplicity, the latest recording by Red Roots, had received a nomination for Country Album of the Year in the 45thAnnual  GMA Dove Awards.
Produced by father/son production team Rick and Micah Schweinsberg, the album’s first single reached the top 10 on the Singing News radio chart, and the second single continues to climb.  Triplicity was featured as a New and Noteworthy release on the iTunes’ Country page during release week and Red Roots has since appeared on several television networks and CCM festivals in promotion of the album.
At work on the production of their new video for the single “Great Big Yes,” Red Roots commented, “we are excited and still getting over the shock of being nominated for a Dove Award.  Thanks to everyone who voted!”
The Dove Awards will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Allen Arena on the campus of David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.  The show will air across the world on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Red Roots features identical red-headed triplets, Nika, Nicole, and Natalie Taylor.   With a stage persona as fiery as their blazing red locks, it’s no surprise Red Roots is enjoying tremendous success.  Six radio singles off their first two albums have charted in the top 40 of the Singing News Magazine, with the first single “Seven Days” off Triplicity being their highest radio debut to date.  Red Roots was named Favorite New Trio at the 2013 Singing News Fan Awards and was a featured contestant on the American Bible Challenge.

Nascar Driver Says 'No' to God, Becomes Amazon Best Seller

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn., Aug. 27, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- When God was handing out the "overachiever" personality traits, evidently Robert Bakke was the first in line. God knew full well what and who He had created in Robert. So one day in 2011 in a lonely hotel room... God came calling, but Robert was in no mood to talk. The actual conversation went something like this: God:  "Robert, I want you to write Me a book on prayer."  Robert: "No, God, I'm not gonna do it!" God: "Excuse me?" Well, I think we all can imagine how that turned out. Yes, Robert wrote the book. It is titledPrayer at Full Throttle. Speaking of full throttle, the book "raced" to number 19 on Amazon's best seller chart and according to Robert, this wild ride isn't over yet... because for some reason, race car drivers have absolutely no interest in any numerical rating but that of number 1.

So how has this book exploded off the mark and headed to the top of the ratings? The book cuts straight to the point of why prayer works for some people and not so much for others, and then replaces doubt with miracles. The book's subtitle, "How Performance-Based Prayers Make Miracles Happen," is truthful and accurate. Robert even provides photographic evidence of actual miracles that have occurred as a result of performance-based prayer.

And there is absolutely nothing religious about this book! You won't read obscure theological theories or boring repetitive stories here. Take a look at some of these chapter titles: Thank the Lord for Taco Bell; Apparently, God Drives a Ford; and No Magic Fairy Dust. I can't wait to read it...uh, make that again!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Robert Bakke is a jet captain and aerobatic flight instructor, a black belt and regional champion, a best-selling author, a race car driver, and a ski instructor. He was running a multi-million dollar company by the age of 24. After shattering numerous sales records, Robert eventually said good-bye to his business career and moved on to captain jet aircraft and teach the "performance" of God's Word. Robert received his certificate of ordination as a minister of the Gospel on April 15, 2012.

New Jim Brady Trio Added To Harper Agency Artist Roster

Jim & Melissa BradyGoodlettsville, TN – One of Christian music’s leading booking agencies, The Harper Agency, has named the newly organized Jim Brady Trio, as the latest addition to their artist roster. The announcement comes just a few days after popular vocal group, The Booth Brothers shared the news that long-time group member Jim Brady would be leaving the group at the end of the year. “Ronnie and I are saddened to see Jim depart our team,” Michael Booth stated, “yet we are tremendously excited about his future contributions to Gospel Music.”
Since joining The Booth Brothers in 2002, Jim has become a favorite among Southern Gospel Music lovers. Over the past decade Jim, with Ronnie and Michael Booth,  have become one of Gospel Music’s most awarded groups, collectively receiving more than 100 industry honors and accolades. “The last 12 and a half years have meant more to me than words could ever express,” Jim shared. “Ronnie and Michael have truly become brothers to me, and I’ll be forever thankful for the great times spent with them.”
To say that Jim’s time with The Booth Brothers solidified his place at the pinnacle of Gospel Music  would be an understatement; however, Jim possessed a rich musical heritage prior to his arrival with the Brothers. He first began singing with his gifted musical family at the age of five, and by the time he was 16 he began songwriting. Also prior to joining The Booth Brothers, Jim traveled with his wife, Melissa, and her family, The Shulers for nearly a decade. Jim and Melissa merged their songwriting gifts and are now recognized as two of Gospel Music’s most prolific songwriters, having penned more than 200 songs.
Over the years Melissa has faithfully supported her husband’s calling to Gospel Music, and as often as possible the two have had the privilege to sing and minister together. Melissa is a talented vocalist and musician and was featured on the Women of Homecoming Gaither Videos released in 2013. She is a regular columnist for The Singing News Magazine and Homecoming Magazine, and has also filled in for such popular groups as The Hoppers, The Martins and Lordsong over the past several years. “God has brought so many opportunities our way as a result of Jim’s time with The Booth Brothers,” Melissa said. “Had he chosen to sing with them for the rest of his life, I would have supported him 100 percent, but God had other plans, and we are honored that He is affording us the opportunity to share a full-time ministry. ”
The third member of the Jim Brady Trio has yet to be named; however, Jim and Melissa know God has the perfect person already selected. “We are so excited about this new adventure,” Jim stated. “The decision to leave The Booth Brothers was not made lightly, but I felt an urging from God that this is right, and I am so grateful for Michael and Ronnie’s blessings on this new ministry.”
“We have no doubt The Jim Brady Trio is equipped to make quality music that will encourage and evangelize,” Michael explained. “Great days are ahead for this union, and we know God is going to use them in a mighty way.”
The Harper Agency is pleased to have the opportunity to work with this newly formed group and are thrilled to add The Jim Brady Trio to their roster of fine artists, which also includes The Booth Brothers.    “We’ve known Jim and Melissa for 11 years, since we first began scheduling The Booth Brothers,” Ed Harper states. “While collectively, they are a new trio, Jim and Melissa have already established themselves to be credible artists with a heart for ministry. They have a uniqueness in that they have had the opportunity to test the waters, so to speak, and have been able to minister together, even when Jim was traveling full-time with The Booth Brothers.”
The Harper Agency has enjoyed a wonderful partnership with The Booth Brothers for over a decade and obviously, it was important to have the blessing of The Booth Brothers before embarking upon a scheduling agreement. Thankfully, the blessing was bestowed.  “We are equally excited that Jim and Melissa’s trio will be a part of the Harper Agency. Ed Harper and the Harper Agency have effectively managed the schedule of The Booth Brothers for 11 years, and I know they will be a tremendous asset to Jim and Melissa.”
“I believe Michael and Ronnie consider The Jim Brady Trio to be an extension of The Booth Brothers’ ministry,” Ed shared. “They have that kind of friendship, and that is definitely important. We are honored to have the opportunity to work with and represent such an outstanding couple. We are anxious to see who they name as the third member of the Trio, and we look forward to being a part of their future for many years.”
The Harper Agency may be reached by calling 615-851-4500 or visiting www.harperagency.com. The Agency is currently scheduling dates for 2015 for The Jim Brady Trio. Additional information regarding The Jim Brady Trio is available online atwww.BradyHouseMusic.com.

A Note From Connie Hopper

Connie Hopper

From Connie Hopper, August 24, 2014
Dear Friends,
I just wanted to drop a note of gratitude for your kindness and encouragement throughout the years. With respect to that unmatched support, I wish to respond to recent inquiries and concerns.
Simply put, during my annual mammogram, the doctor discovered a small malignant mass. Because of our family’s past experience with this disease and knowing the emotional toll it can take, they asked that we postpone a few concerts as to be with me during the time of my tests. Nothin’ like good family support.
Yes, plans of surgery are already in motion and all doctors are beyond optimistic! Oswald Chambers wrote, “Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work.”
We greatly appreciate your understanding of any time off I may need to take, and sincerely covet your prayers.
Once more, I thank you.

Matt Felts To Leave Dixie Melody Boys

From Matt Felts

For the last four years I’ve had the honor of sharing the stage with Ed O’Neal and the Dixie Melody Boys. I’ve been so blessed to be embraced by their wonderful friends and fans all across the country. This season has seen some great times for the group including the 50th Anniversary Reunion, numerous awards and many great concerts. When I joined I didn’t fully understand what it meant to be a member of the “Ed O’Neal University”. It’s more than just a group. It’s being part of a fraternity that you’re always a part of. As many of you know, I fly from Nashville to North Carolina every week to meet the guys. Like many things the cost of flights have gone up drastically over the last couple years. This coupled with God’s leading in a new path have brought me to announce my departure from the Dixie Melody Boys. I want to thank Ed for an incredible four years. I will never forget the songs, the miles and the many laughs. Some may say I’m graduating but you never truly leave the Dixie Melody Boys. It a family you’re always a part of. There will be an announcement soon about the new doors God has opened but for now I just wanted to thank all of you and Ed.

Southern Sound’s Alan Brewster Inducted

(Ft. Oglethorpe, GA) Phenomenal Bass singer Alan Brewster of Southern Sound Quartet received the high honor of being inducted as an individual into the Tri-State Gospel Music Hall of Fame in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. This Georgia native is known for his motivation in business, and his low voice that every great quartet needs.
Southern Sound Lead singer and Manager, Ben Harris said, “Although Alan remained a board member of the group during his three year absence, he was of course not a regular touring member during those years. We have had many promoters, pastors and friends ask about Alan, and now he is back and we could not be more pleased. Alan brings far more than his rich and talented voice. He also brings a wealth of business background, a firm commitment to Christ, and a friendly demeanor that everyone loves.”
Tri-State Gospel Music Hall of Fame was founded in 2005. It was formed to recognize and remember the efforts of those individuals whom have given to the advancement and support of Gospel Music in the Southeast Tennessee, Northwest Georgia, and Northeast Alabama, locally known as the Tri-state area.
There were 25 new inductees this year, including nationally known Jack Clark and Elmer Cole.
This years ceremony was held at Parkway Baptist Temple, Fort Oglethorpe, GA on August the 2nd.
Alan stated “I started singing bass in a young people’s church quartet at the age of 15. Since then I have sung with the Royal Heirs Quartet of Lafayette, GA, Kings Messengers Quartet of Lafayette, GA, Happy Harmony Quartet of Chattanooga, TN, Called Out Quartet of Dalton, GA, Hymnsmen Quartet of Cleveland, TN and Southern Sound Quartet of Nashville, TN. I joined Southern Sound in April of 2007 and stayed til October of 2010. After much thought and prayer I rejoined the group in August 2013.
My favorite memory would have to be my first performance on the main-stage of the National Quartet Convention with Southern Sound.”

AbsolutelyGospel.com Shares It's Blessings With Marcelly's Dream

Cleveland, TN (August 22, 2014) In the midst of their 15th Annual Absolutely Gospel Music Festival, AbsolutelyGospel.com felt the need to seed a portion of the offering received on Tuesday evening.

Having been aware of Marcelly's Dream nearly from it's inception it seemed to be the natural place to start giving back to God through this amazing ministry. Marcelly's Dream came about as a young missionary's daughter sat in the Mission Directors office of the Church of God and told him of the dream she had of feeding children around the world.

Tim Hill, the Missions Director who's office she was in just happened to be performing that Tuesday evening at the Festival. Tim is a great songwriter and singer as well. Tim tells us “Through the efforts of Marcelly's Dream and the kindness of people like those at the concert that night over $1,505,000 has been raised in just over a year to help children all over this world. Those efforts include just finishing the building of over 50 homes for the poor people of Cambodia, as well as ministering to the physical and nutritional needs. The dream of a little girl became part of a world wide operation to touch the lives of children beyond what she could have imagined. We are blessed to have friends like those at AbsolutelyGospel.com who care enough to share in a ministry like Marcelly's Dream.

President of AbsolutelyGospel.com, Deon Unthank stated “It was not a hard decision to choose Marcelly's Dream. Seeing the results let us know that this is not just another church program, but rather it is a real ministry to thousands upon thousands of children who need our help. Beyond just building homes, Marcelly's Dream feeds hungry children and digs wells to supply water in those communities where children are desperate for food and water. Thousands of Bibles are delivered to children across the world. We are humbled just to be a tiny part of this missionary effort.”

Died: A Great Prolife Warrior; George Offerman, RIP

FRONT ROYAL, Va., Aug. 22, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Pro-life community has lost a dedicated warrior for the unborn, George Offerman, age 53.

George was a professional psychotherapist, who helped hundreds of weary souls that sought his help.

George wrote scores of blogs in defense of the unborn, calling on Christians to leave their comfortable surroundings, to fight for the unborn, and to create the "social tension" needed to bring this holocaust to an end.

In 2009, George won the "Blogger of the Year" award from American Life League.

George Offerman, however, was more than a man of words; he was a man of action. For example:
  • George was a consistent presence at the abortion mill in Falls Church Virginia, where he witnessed to pregnant mothers as they entered the facility to kill their babies...Saturday after Saturday after Saturday, month after month, year after year.

  • George was arrested for distributing pro-life Catholic literature at the parking lot of the Northern Virginia Diocese Catholic Cathedral in 2008. He told fellow Catholics that it was a sin to vote for Barak Obama, because Obama promoted the murder of unborn babies. He was right, but sadly, he was arrested for his actions.

  • In Early 2009, George and his wife Kathy travelled to Rome at their own expense with 10 other pro-lifers, to meet with Cardinal Burke and other Vatican Prelates, begging them to instruct American Catholic Bishops to deny Holy Communion to Catholic politicians who supported the murder of babies by abortion.

  • George was arrested with Dr. Alan Keyes in Notre Dame in 2009, protesting against Obama's speech at Notre Dame's commencement that year, thus becoming a part of the notable "Notre Dame 88." (All charges were later dropped.)

  • George supported his wife Kathy and sacrificed his time throughout 2012, when she purchased television ads for a dozen pro-life candidates who ran for various federal offices. Those ads showed aborted babies, and were seen in over 30 states, and garnered extensive local and national media coverage.

  • George and Kathy participated in many press conferences, protests, and demonstrations for the unborn in Washington DC.
On Saturday, August 16, George Offerman was killed in a tragic automobile accident in Maryland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 23, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 22 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, and his three adult children from his first marriage; Matthew, Faith, and Grace.

"George Offerman's untimely death is a supreme tragedy for his family, and a great loss to the unborn babies he defended, his friends, and the pro life community. He will be sorely missed. May God grant him the joy of life eternal." -- Randall Terry, Founder, Operation Rescue
