Special Word from Libbi Perry Stuffle

Dear Friends,

Words cannot begin to express our gratitude and appreciation for all of the kindness, well wishes, and prayers for my husband, Tracy Stuffle, and our family. As most of you know, Tracy suffered a heart attack last week while at home. It was then determined that he would need open heart surgery and five bypasses. The doctors were able to perform the surgery on Friday, August 13, without any issues, and Tracy is currently resting comfortably. We are expecting him to be released from the hospital on Tuesday, August 17, to begin his recovery at home.

Our family has been overwhelmed at the love and support from thousands across this land. "Thank you" seems so inadequate, but please know that it is from the heart. God has truly given my husband a second chance, for which we are so grateful. We know that we have a long road ahead of us for Tracy's recovery, but God is faithful.

Many people have asked, "What can we do?" Tracy and I ask two things of our many friends across the country. First and foremost, we humbly ask for your prayers as we begin the next phase of Tracy's rehabilitation and full recovery. Secondly, it would mean so much to Tracy and I that you support the group as they continue to travel in our absence. Tracy will not be on stage for several weeks, and I believe my place should be by his side as his wife, confidante, and primary caregiver. I do plan to go with the group when possible, but my priority will be Tracy's care. Katy Peach, Troy's wife, will be filling my position when I am not able to go with the group. (If you have ever heard her, you know she is an incredible singer!) Please know that the Perrys will be fulfilling all of our dates in the coming weeks. Your support will give us this much-needed time for Tracy to fully recover, and make the necessary adjustments in our lifestyle following this surgery.

Thank you again for your love and support. With Tracy's full health, we believe the future is brighter than ever for the Perrys.

Love,
Libbi Perry Stuffle

Three Bridges Shares Stage with Jimmy Fortune at Violet Township Festival

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (August 17, 2010) – Christian music trio Three Bridges was honored to share the stage with Jimmy Fortune (formerly of the Statler Brothers) last month. The trio was the featured performer (along with Fortune) at the Violet Township Festival on Thursday, July 29, 2010. Both artists were a part of the Faith & Family Night at the annual festival, which takes place in Pickerington, Ohio every summer.

Shannon Smith of Three Bridges said, "It was an absolute honor to share the stage with Jimmy Fortune! He is an amazing performer with some of the most pure tenor vocals I've ever heard, and he is an awesome guitar player as well. More importantly, his love for the Lord is so genuine and contagious. I'm honored to call Jimmy my friend."

Three Bridges’ Elliott McCoy also commented, “We had a blast performing at this festival and sharing the stage with one of Country music’s greatest performers! Being a featured performer alongside Jimmy Fortune was a wonderful experience for Three Bridges.”

Each artist performed for over an hour before sharing the stage together. Three Bridges and Jimmy performed several of Jimmy’s well-known songs together, such as “Elizabeth,” “More Than Just a Name On the Wall,” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Pictures from the event can be found on Three Bridges’ Facebook page.

Three Bridges has been preparing for the release of their highly anticipated new recording. The yet-to-be-titled new release will be the first to feature new members Shannon Smith and Jeremie Hudson.

For more information on Three Bridges, visit them on the web at http://www.threebridges.net.

Three Bridges will also be a regular featured artist on the upcoming national television program “Brush Arbor Jubilee" as will be shown on numerous networks and local cable markets nationwide.

About Three Bridges
The music of Three Bridges is rooted in traditional Southern Gospel and Black Gospel music. This blended style has made Three Bridges one of the prominent internationally-acclaimed Gospel groups in Christian music today — a group known for tight harmony, a unique vocal style, an exciting, energy-packed stage presentation, and, most importantly, spreading the joy of being a Christian.

New Jesus Movie Receives Matching Donations

(August 17,2010) Even as scores of new supporters have begun to pour in from most every corner of the world (see www.facebook.com/NewJesusMovie) , Malaysia, Brazil, Uganda, Nepal, Malawi… just in the last few days, a family foundation which desires to remain anonymous, has stepped forward with a pledge to match donations up to $4,000 from August 6 – 22, working through The National Christian Foundation.

“As you can guess,” remarks Bruce Marchiano, who is spearheading this groundbreaking vision, “I am EXTREMELY humbled and thankful for this family – and for everyone who has given of themselves to see the Gospel go forth in this dynamic.”

Uniquely, “Jesus… No Greater Love” is being produced as a non-profit ministry, to be funded by the collective donations of millions of believers who appreciate the need for Jesus across America and the world, and the medium of film being “the language” of today. “It is no mystery that people are reading less and less – especially young people,” Marchiano continues. “But they do watch movies. So for me it is a no-brainer – make the Gospel a movie, and put it on theater/TV screens across this nation and the world, dub it into the languages of the world; equip local churches, ministries, missionaries, etc., with it… and see the Lord touch lives!”

“Jesus… No Greater Love” will be a Word-for-Word adaptation of The Gospel According to John, the vision’s foundation being that the power to change lives is not in the film – but in God’s Word, in His Gospel. The script is currently undergoing a “final polish” to assure that the Gospel truths are brought to life in accuracy and depth that will peel back the layers of John’s Gospel as much as possible. At the same time, the film makers are committed to utilizing the most cutting edge film technology available, making Jesus… No Greater Love truly “a Jesus movie for a new generation.”

And why would professionals volunteer, and everyday believers give, to a film production? Because “Jesus…No Greater Love” isn’t about generating commercial success, but about reaching souls for Jesus. It’s about millions of youth “watching” the Gospel on iPods, cell phones, the internet, etc., and also being projected on a bed sheet in an Indian leper colony. This is a film produced by the body of Christ to reach the world for Christ.

As believers across America and the world embrace that same passion with their support, especially in this seventeen day period of matching their donations – “Jesus… No Greater Love” will soon be coming to a screen near you! For more information, visit www.NewJesusMovie.com.

Update on George Amon Webster

(August 16, 2010) Nashville, TN- Homeland Entertainment Group on behalf of The Toney Brothers would like thank all of you who have been faithfully praying for George Amon Webster and the Toney Brothers. We would like to report that George was released from the hospital on Thursday, August 12th. He looks good and is in great spirits and has returned home to Tennessee. His left arm is doing well and healing as expected. However, his fractured hip socket is healing slow and will require him to be off of it for an estimated six weeks. While all of this is positive news, we regret to inform you the test results of the mass found on George’s neck.
Doctors have discovered that George has cancer lesions on the back of his tongue that are spreading to the right side of his throat. So far, they say it is 9 cm in size, is non-operable and must be treated with chemotherapy and radiation. The doctors in Illinois are referring George to someone in Nashville to treat his cancer condition. Doctors have also voiced concern for George’s lack of eye sight due to his cataract problem. They feel this impairment will slow down his physical therapy process since he now cannot see enough to be mobile. Doctors also do not wish to start chemotherapy treatment, then have to pause for a cataract surgery.
The current plan formed by George’s doctors is for him to have cataract surgery then begin physical therapy and cancer treatment.
Please continue to keep George and the Toney Brothers in your prayers. For more updates concerning George, please visit

Nashville BMG Reissues Gospel Songs of ‘Country’ Johnny Mathis

Nashville, TN (Nashville BMG) August 14th, 2010 – Nashville BMG has begun to reissue the Gospel songs of ‘Country’ Johnny Mathis. The first of the series, The Gospel Songs – Volume 1, was released for the first in digital format this month.

Country Johnny Mathis, not to be confused with the pop singer of the same name, was known as both a Country singer and songwriter during the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. As a BMI Award winning songwriter Mathis had songs recorded by many of the most formative artists of Country Music during that time frame, seven who are now Country Music Hall of Fame inductees. As an artist, he had several Top 20 charting songs as a soloist and with the duet, Jimmy and Johnny as well as regular performances on such Country iconic stages as The Louisiana Hayride and The Grand Ole Opry.

In 1964, Mathis, the son of an East Texas holiness preacher, had a salvation experience that returned him to his roots of faith. This on the heels of a Top 20 song with United Artists and a nomination for “New Male Vocalist In Country Music” by Billboard Magazine. He began to evangelize across the nation both singing and preaching while delivering albums for the Pickwick, Hilltop and Little Darling labels.

Now for the first time in 40 years, the Gospel songs of Country Johnny Mathis are being reissued and are available via download through the major digital music sites such as iTunes and Rhapsody. For more information regarding Country Johnny Mathis visit www.CountryJohnnyMathis.com

Sunday Edition Pays Tribute to the Music of the Church with the Release of Sunday Worship

New Project To Debut Next Month During National Quartet Convention

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – (August 14, 2010) – Sunday Edition, one of Nashville’s favorite groups, is excited about the release of the trio’s highly anticipated new recording – Sunday Worship. Sunday Worship is a conceptual recording that not only pays tribute to the group’s history singing in the church, but it also takes a look at the current landscape of church music.

Deon Unthank of Sunday Edition said, “All three of us have fond memories of going to our grandparents’ old country churches and singing along in worship with nothing more than our voices an old, out-of-tune piano. So, that inspired us when recording this record to strip it down to the way it used to be and just sing these songs from the bottom of our soul with nothing but a piano and the voices God gave us.”

Sunday Worship consists of six cherished hymns and five modern worship songs set to an acoustic, piano only accompaniment.

Deon Unthank, who also co-produced the record, said, “Everywhere we go, people ask us to sing one of two things – either worship songs or hymns. Well, this release focuses on both those aspects of church music.”

“We are so excited about this release, because we really feel like you can sense the heart and emotion behind these songs,” mentioned Amy Marie Unthank of Sunday Edition. “We picked these songs, because they mean something to each of us.”

Sunday Worship was recorded with the concept of “less-is-more” in mind. Very little digital enhancements and processing was used on the vocals, and the group opted out of using vocal stacks and vocal alignment for this album.

“More than anything, we wanted this recording to feel authentic. We didn’t want it to sound over-produced and over-processed. What’s great is that you do get to hear blemishes in our voices and moments where we could have sang it better – but we wanted to make it sound like we were in an old country church singing these songs – just like we remember. We hope we accomplished that,” mentioned co-producer and Sunday Edition member Chris D. Unthank.

Sunday Worship features an equal share of modern and classic worship tunes like “Blessed Assurance,” “Precious Lord,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Indescribable,” “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone),” and “Friend of God,” in addition to many more songs.

Vocals for the new album were recorded at Square One Studio in Franklin, Tennessee. The project was produced by group members Chris and Deon Unthank, and all vocals were arranged by Sunday Edition. Jeff Duffield mixed and mastered the recording, while tracks for the album were performed and recorded by Bobby McAllister (for Salem-Sound in Winston-Salem, NC). The group enlisted the help of Deon’s pastor Johnny Minick for the piano on “Feeling Mighty Fine.” Steve Allen and Aaron Minick also assisted in engineering for the project.

Sunday Worship will debut and be available to purchase for the first time during the week of the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky from September 13-18, 2010. Sunday Edition will be performing on Monday afternoon’s Featured Artist Showcase from 3:00-4:00 p.m. and will be singing selections from the new release at the showcase.

Sunday Edition recently released their follow-up to the smash-hit “He Bore a Cross.” The new single, titled “Mercy Walks a Road,” was once again produced by Glen Bates and written by Bates and Glen Ashworth. The new song is another special single release with BSA World Records.

The song is currently available for radio stations to download via Chuck Peters’ SG Show Prep and was released to radio through DJ Man Promotions and BSA World Records. In addition, the song is also being promoted to radio by TS Promotions, the Rick Hendrix Company, and Music City Media Group.

About Sunday Edition
Sunday Edition was formed back in the early 70’s as an all-male quartet. Now, 30 years later, the group has reformed as the family trio consisting of Deon Unthank, Amy Marie Unthank, and Chris Unthank. The group has a rich sound with a wide variety of influences which range from traditional southern to country and progressive southern to black gospel.

Anywhere God opens the doors for us, we're ready to walk through.”

In addition, HisSong also performed at the Stamps-Baxter School of Music in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at Middle Tennessee State University on Wednesday, July 15, 2010.

Friends remember Georgia music legend John L “Johnny” Carson

Georgia music industry members, friends and family of Georgia Music Hall of Fame member John L Carson, 77, gathered July 31 in Decatur, Ga. to celebrate his life.
Chaplain Danny Roland officiated and Randall Franks gave the eulogy.
Carson died July 27, 2010 at an Atlanta area hospital after suffering a heart attack and fall.
Carson combined his musical pedigree, talent and love of people to pioneer a career in Georgia's music industry. He was also a member of the Carolinas Country, Bluegrass and Gospel Hall of Fame and their Legend Award winner.
He was the grandson of the late Fiddlin' John Carson, who gave him his first fiddle at the age of 10 and the nephew of the late RCA recording artist, “Moonshine Kate” Carson.
He was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2009 receiving the Mary Tallent Pioneer Award, thus becoming the second member of his family alongside his grandfather. His cousin John R. Carson is a member of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. The Atlanta, Ga. native from Cabbagetown began his journey through the music industry by booking bands at the age of 15.
He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Atlanta, where excelled in many sports, however his records in track and cross-country were not broken until the 1980's.
According to family members, the Atlanta Journal called him the greatest athlete to wear the Crimson Tide colors. He also attended the University of Georgia, Atlanta Division; Georgia State College; Georgia State University, and Atlanta Law School.
Throughout his wide-ranging career, he managed, promoted, produced, showcased and paid tribute to hundreds of country, bluegrass, gospel and western musicians.
He served in the U. S. Army in Korea.
As a music business entrepreneur with his partner Phyllis Cole, he founded Fiddlin’ John Carson Productions in 1970, including publishing companies - Fiddlin’ John Carson Publishers and Fid John Carson Publishers, show productions, management and record companies eventually bringing all the businesses under Cradle of Country Music Productions.
He and Cole founded the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame in 1982 honoring over a thousand people who have impacted the Atlanta and Georgia music scene over the last 28 years.
He also founded the Atlanta Country Music Academy in 1986 in Cabbagetown with the focus of educated young singers at no cost. He served as Co-Director of the Atlanta Society of Entertainers since 1994 and also served on the board of Friends of Georgia Music Festival board member for many years.
In addition to his music career, he and Cole also formed the International Association of Security Guards in 1976, in order to give security personnel proper training. He coordinated this organization for several years.
Among the many artists’ careers his and Cole’s efforts impacted are American Idol runner-up and Broadway actress Diana DeGarmo, Country singers Mark Wills and Daron Norwood and Appalachian music and Television star Randall Franks, “Officer Randy Goode” from TV’s “In the Heat of the Night.”
“Johnny encouraged so many of us,” Franks said. “He advised, created opportunities, brought attention to our careers, taught, and preserved history, but mostly he was a friend through the ups and downs of pursuing a mainstream entertainment career who cheered us on. Georgia music just lost one of its greatest promoters and all of us just lost a true friend.”
He managed the country-rock group the Generals and produced shows with some of the biggest names in pop, country and rock music.
According to Fiddlin’ John Carson Productions, as a philanthropist, he has help raise over $2 million for various charities.
Carson’s Home going service included performances by Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina performers Lorraine Parker, Joey Stuckey, Danny Roland, Randall Franks, Rick Smith, Mitzie Gardner, J. Max and Teena McKee, Jerry and Helen Burke, Dean Marsh and Cotton Evans.
Phyllis Cole gave a tribute to Johnny and invited others to do the same. Many of the attendees gave brief tributes as well.
"As Johnny would say, it was a packed house," Phyllis said.
He was interred in a private ceremony at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain, Ga.
Donations in Carson's memory may be made to the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame, 4051 Seven Hills Court, Stone Mountain, GA. 30083
