Songwriter’s Forum With Joel Lindsey

Nashville, TN (February 10, 2014) Multi- Award winning songwriter, Joel Lindsey will present “Songwriter’s Forum With Joel Lindsey” on February 22, 2014 in North Augusta, South Carolina. With over 20 number one songs and more than 800 songs recorded, plus 13 Dove Awards, 4 Platinum records, 7 Gold records, and 11 Platinum videos to his credit, Lindsey will share songwriting wisdom and experience with new and veteran songwriters. In addition to learning songwriting skills, attendees will benefit from one constructive songwriting critique. One person will also be given the opportunity to co-write a song with Joel Lindsey.
“I love spending time with other songwriters talking about the ins and outs of what makes some songs connect with people more than others,” Lindsey stated. “I’ve been doing this for 25 years now and it’s a never-ending pursuit of trying to figure out how to communicate a song idea effectively. So for me, to have the chance to get in a room with other songwriters and to be able explore and examine all of that is a great opportunity. I have learned some tricks of the trade that I love to share, for sure, but I also find that every time I do something like this I learn great lessons as well. Songwriting is a great passion of mine but also, as a cancer survivor, raising money for cancer research is a great passion as well. So, doing forums like this gives me a chance to combine two great interests of mine in one day.”
The “Songwriter’s Forum With Joel Lindsey” will be held at the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, 625 Georgia Avenue, North August, South Carolina and will last from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. (NASHVILLE, TN) – The evening of Tuesday, October 15, 2013 was quite exciting for Devin McGlamery, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound and StowTown Records! During a special ceremony at the 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards, "From My Rags, To His Riches" was awarded "Country Song of The Year." The song, performed by Devin McGlamery with Bluegrass powerhouse duo Dailey and Vincent, from the StowTown Records release, Love Is A Verb, has resonated with audiences across the country with the theme of forgiveness and grace. Songwriters Ernie Haase, Wayne Haun and Joel Lindsey also received awards for composing the song.

"To say I am beyond excited is an understatement," exclaimed Devin McGlamery. "All I've ever wanted to do was sing Gospel music. To be honored by my peers with a Dove Award is extremely humbling. I praise Jesus Christ, my Savior, for all His blessings!"

Ernie Haase commented: "I met Devin McGlamery as a young teenager who wanted to do this more than anything! I knew then that one day, he would achieve great things. I am very proud of him."

The excitement continued through the evening as Ernie Haase & Signature Sound took to the red carpet to pose for photos and talk with journalists.

Later during the televised portion, the group joined an all-star salute to Bill Gaither. Performing the song "He Touched Me," the group, along with the Isaacs, Dailey & Vincent, and Karen Peck Gooch lit up the stage and brought the crowd to their feet as the music flowed. The Gaither Vocal Band ended the tribute with a performance of "Alpha & Omega."

"It was an honor for our group to pay tribute to one of my personal mentors and friends," shared Ernie Haase. "For years Bill Gaither has invested into the lives of others and it was a very special moment to be able to pay a small tribute to the man who has done so much for Gospel music and the kingdom. We love Bill Gaither!"

The 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards will be televised exclusively on the UP! Television Network tonight, Monday, October 21 at 8:00 PM ET.

Beyond The Ashes Nominated For A Dove

Nashville, TN (August 28th, 2013) – StowTown Records' artist Beyond The Ashes is honored to have garnered a Dove nomination for Inspirational Song Of The Year.

Plans Continue for “Write About Jesus” Songwriter’s Workshop Oct 11-13

More than 100 people have already signed up for this year’s “Write About Jesus” songwriters workshop.

The conference will be held October 11-13 in St. Louis, Missouri. Attendees will learn from songwriting experts such as Jennie Lee Riddle, Michael Farren, Joel Lindsey, Belinda Smith, and Tony Wood. Topics will include “Qualities and Habits of Successful Writers,” “Co-writing Strategies and Etiquette,” Where Great Ideas Hide,” Rewriting: When, Why, and Most Of All How?,” Getting Your Foot In The Door: How To Get From Here To There” plus more.

A line up of worship leaders that will be helping at each group session: has been announced. On Thursday evening James Tealy, David Myers, and Phil Mehrens. On Friday morning, Michael Farren and Jennie Riddle. On Friday evening, Gina Boe and Lee Black. On Saturday morning, Carl Cartee and Allie Lapointe.

Plans continue as well for the songwriting competition. Sue C. Smith shares, “I’ve also paired off our clinicians for the competition groups. We’ll be dividing entries by genre and have groups (as needed) for the following categories: worship, CCM, southern gospel, country, print and choral, kids, novelty and special occasion. Be sure to read the rules and guidelines for the competition on the Write About Jesus web site. They will be very helpful as you decide what song you’re going to enter.”

Hey Everybody!!!

Yes, we are still a live!! We know it's been forever since you've heard from us, but it seems time just gets away from us day by day! But, everyone is doing well and kicking! :0)

We will start by bringing you up to date on what's been going on and some new product that has been released lately.

One exciting thing that happened back in April of this year, happened at the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards in Atlanta, GA. The Perrys won their first ever Dove Award for Southern Gospel Song of the Year with CELEBRATE ME HOME, written by Wayne Haun and Joel Lindsey!! We were in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Singing in the Sun when we received the call that it had won! We were BEYOND excited! Celebrate Me Home (Blue Skies project) was also nominated in the top 5 over-all GMA Song of the Year along with Casting Crowns, Jason Crabb and Laura Story. This was truly a blessing from God and all praise, glory and honor belongs to HIM!

For the first time in six years The Perrys have finally released a brand new DVD, recorded live in Nashville, TN at Oak Tree Studios, CELEBRATE ME HOME. This DVD has songs from a mixture of our recordings. Some of the songs are: Plan of Salvation, Potter Knows the Clay, Great is Thy Faithfulness, Celebrate Me Home, If You Knew Him, Every Time I Need Him and others. This DVD contains interviews from each member of The Perrys along with behind the scenes stories. Celebrate Me Home is now available from our website: www.perrysministries.com.

We've received a bunch of email asking about how Tracy's health has been. Tracy is doing incredible! He is coming up on the two year anniversary of his open heart surgery and is a 100 lbs lighter! He has picked back up on golfing and says the movement of the game has helped him work out a lot of the soreness in chest muscles. We give God all the praise for bringing Tracy this far! Thanks for all the prayers!

The Perrys are in the middle of working on a new project set to release in the fall. We will give you more details on the release date, songs and title as we get everything completed. We are hoping to have pre-releases at NQC in Louisville, KY in September. Speaking of new projects, Lib's solo project "JOURNEY" is doing great! She has a single out to radio on "JESUS HOLD MY HAND." Please call your local Gospel station and request this song along with The Perry's new single, Every Time I Need Him which is currently at #4 on the Singing News Charts.

Don't forget the National Quartet Convention is coming up September 10 - 15, 2012 in Louisville, KY. The Perrys will be singing on Monday, Friday and Saturday nights. For more info go to www.natqc.com.

Songwriting Seminar With Joel Lindsay July 21

Award winning and accomplished songwriter, Joel Lindsey presents a Songwriting Seminar on Saturday, July 21, 2012. The Seminar will take place at the Holiday Inn Airport, Evansville, Indiana from 9:00 am to 6:00. “There is nothing else in the world like getting together with a group of like-minded people to discuss the ins and outs of what makes some songs work and others not. I love discussing the process of writing and exploring ways to inspire and motivate all of us to digger deeper into our creative souls,” Lindsey explains.

Students can expect to be the first to experience the curriculum Joel Lindsey has developed for his upcoming book on songwriting. “Attendees will gain fresh insights to the art and heart of songwriting,” Lindsey says. “I guarantee that new and experienced writers alike will find this seminar compelling, enlightening and informative.”

Due to time constraints, a few songs will be critiqued at the seminar for illustration purposes, the rest will be emailed within a week following the seminar. With training and instruction from one of the most gifted, experienced and prolific songwriters of our time, students will find this experience rewarding and beneficial.

There are benefits for early registration and referrals! The first 10 songwriters who register will receive one song critique AND one 45 minute mentoring session via Skype, iChat or phone following the seminar. Also, the first 25 writers to register will be placed in a drawing to receive one year of mentoring sessions (one 45 minute session per month.)

BEYOND THE ASHES NOMINATED FOR TWO GMA DOVE AWARDS

GROUP RECEIVES NODS FOR NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR & CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL SONG OF THE YEAR

Nashville, TN (Feb 22, 2012) –Powerful vocal trio, Beyond The Ashes (BTA), is overwhelmed with gratitude with news of two prestigious DOVE AWARD nominations. The Gospel Music Association (GMA) announced the nominees at a press conference held in Atlanta, GA this morning. The announcements were hosted by comedienne extraordinaire, Chonda Pierce.

The trio's DOVE AWARD nominations include NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR and CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL RECORDED SONG OF THE YEAR, "What I Have I Give," written by Wayne Haun, Joel Lindsey, and Depp Britt. The nominated song is from the album, Treasures Unseen, produced by Haun on Vine Records.

Group members Anthony Facello, Casey Rivers, and Kellan Monroe are beyond blessed by all God is doing in their ministry. These nominations have "almost" left them speechless, but BTA owner and tenor singer, Facello, tried to sum up the emotions as he shared; "We are stunned, overwhelmed, and absolutely thrilled with this tremendous news. The last 12 months have been quite a rollercoaster as we experienced successes and, also, some tough trials. The best part has been seeing souls trust Christ and lives changed forever. The hardest parts are tests of faith in moving forward, like when our bus caught on fire and we lost just about everything inside, including the transporation itself. But, what GOD has proven, and continues to prove over and again, is, HE IS FAITHFUL. There is no trial He doesn't understand and there are no victories more important than the spiritual ones we encounter as we continue to press on and serve Him in this ministry. Knowing we have received these nominations only fuels our desire to take it to the next level in this ministry and to really pray that accolades like a DOVE nomination (and, if it comes, a DOVE AWARD) will only open more opportunity to reach out to the hearts of hurting and lost people.
