Channing Eleton Comes To Agreement With AG Publicity
Dalton, GA (October 10, 2013) Award winning talent, Channing Eleton, has come to an agreement with AG Publicity. Channing who is well known for piano artistry is now showing his wares as a phenomenal vocalist as well.
Eleton won several awards for his musicianship while traveling with Gold City Quartet and Poet Voices. His opportunities were limited as far as his incredible vocal talents being displayed. With his Country and Americana blend he has a voice that is going to attract fans from a lot of genres.
Channing stated “I have been working for the past five years, trying to get established as a viable singer. I think I am at the point that a publicity firm with the credibility of AG Publicity can get me the exposure I need to set my ministry and career on another level.”
Channing's last CD featured a few of his own songs, but the new project he is working on is proof that he has yet moved a step in another direction. Deon Unthank of AG Publicity commented “Channing has been know for years as a great musician, recently he has established himself as an equally impressive singer, but now the stage is set to show his talents as the prolific songwriter that he is. I recently had the opportunity to hear some of his new music, and he just blew me away. This man has the real goods.”
Eleton is working on that new CD and expects to have it complete shortly after the first of the year. Anticipation is already building to hear what he can do with his own music.
For more information about Channing Eleton go to http://channingeleton.com or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/channingeleton .
You can contact Channing for a booking at Echanninge@aol.com .

About Channing Eleton
For 4 1/2 years, he toured extensively with Poet Voices playing concerts from Delaware to California and from Canada to the Carribean. This led to so many great things for Eleton. He gained valuable experience while on the road, making many, many new friends.
Channing married his sweetheart, Christina Fleming, whom he’d met two years prior at a Poet Voices concert. Channing continues, “I know when I’m up on that stage, she’s praying for me. Words can’t even begin to describe how I feel. I am blessed more than I deserve. I’m so thankful!”
March 23, 2000 finds Eleton joining Gospel music super-group, Gold City. For the next six years, he tours as part Gold City’s ‘Band Of Gold’. In September of that year, Gold City’s band with Eleton, won The Singing News Fan Award for ‘BAND OF THE YEAR’. In May of 2001, the Southern Gospel Music Association named Channing Eleton as its ‘Musician Of The Year’. “I take great pride in this honor because it was voted on and awarded to me by my peers.” October of 2005, Channing resigned his position as Gold City’s keyboardist. Channing reflects, “I’ll always be thankful for my days spent with Gold City”.
Channing says “The older I get, the more I realize that God uses the different seasons of our lives to prepare for us what’s to come. I have learned to keep looking ahead. Keep plowing forward, while enjoying the present and living each day to its fullest.”

Gold City News and Thanksgiving Concert Announcement
From Gold City's e-newsletter of November 14, 2012
WEEKEND REWIND
Gold City had four great dates this past weekend. Thursday, we headed to Buhl, AL to sing for the great folks at the First Baptist Church. We sang to a full church of awesome gospel music fans there. We then headed to DeQuincy, LA where we sang at New Hope Baptist Church. Another great time was had with these wonderful folks. Saturday, we went to First Baptist Church of Livingston, TX. Now, you’d think with Gold City being the guests and all, they’d have treated our football team better than what they did. But despite Texas A & M beating our beloved Alabama, we were greeted warmly and helped the folks there raise money for the cancer organization Relay for Life. Sunday, we capped off a full weekend with an afternoon concert at the First Assembly of God in Malvern, AR. It’s because of promoters and pastors who go the extra mile and fans who come out and support this music we love that we can climb on the bus each week and share Jesus with the world by way of the best music ever. Thanks to you for helping us fulfill our calling!
MARK THE CALENDAR
Tomorrow night, we have a special concert coming up at Mill Town Music Hall in Bremen, GA. The day after Thanksgiving, we have a big annual event in Florence, AL with our friends, The Perrys, Jeff and Sheri Easter, and Karen Peck and New River. Speaking of the calendar, new dates are being added on a daily basis to our schedule. For a complete list, visit our webiste, www.goldcityqt.com or the website of our booking agency, www.bsaworld.com.
I GET DOWN
So many of you are letting us know through emails, Facebook, cards, letters, and in person that the song "I Get Down" is speaking to you. The power of prayer is the biggest weapon we have against Satan, the world, problems, fears, trials, ailments, whatever! The song has a fun, playful feel to it, but don’t let that fool you into thinking this is a fluffy, feel-good song only. There’s a lot of truth and spiritual depth to the fact that we have the key to victory simply through prayer. Thank you for requesting this song be played on your local radio station. It’s a great reminder for us all that we can ask anything in the will of the Father and He will hear!
COMING UP
Next week, we will be sharing some thoughts of Thanksgiving from the Gold City gang. We have a lot to be thankful for. Blessings are all around us. We hope you take time to count a few of yours.

From Gold City's Newsletter of October 31, 2012:
WEEKEND REWIND
Gold City was all over the map this weekend. We started out in Strasburg, VA on Thursday, then made our way to Port Crane, NY. Saturday we were in Cranberry, PA, when Hurricane Sandy started gaining momentum. Guess you could say we sang up a storm, because the rain and wind seemed to follow us right over to Shelby, OH where we finished out the weekend. Great times with great people, singing the greatest music in the world. Not a bad combination at all! And we were glad to have Daniel Riley back on the road with us this weekend after a few weeks off for some sinus surgery. He’s back and sounding great!
THE WEEK AHEAD
It’s a very important time in our nation. On November 6th, we will be electing many political candidates into office, including the head of our nation for the next four years. The privilege to vote is an honor that we should not take lightly or for granted. Many countries around the world do not have the right to let their voice be heard. Thousands of men and women have died defending the freedoms and rights we have in the United States. This is a call to action– pray for wisdom at the voting poll, and exercise your right to vote!
I GET DOWN
Thank you for calling in to your local radio station and requesting our latest single, "I Get Down." We think it is a message that prayer equals hope! So many of you let us know each week in concert that you are fighting battles, and many more of you have those unspoken burdens that are so private, you can’t even share them. But we know that down on our knees is the place to take care of it all. So, keep requesting and listening and knowing that we are lifted up when we get down on our knees.
STORY ALERT
Did you know our Tim Riley is featured in the November issue of Singing News magazine? In honor of Veteran’s Day, Tim was featured along with Les Beasley (retired member of the Florida Boys) and Ray Dean Reese (Kingsmen). These three men served our nation in the Armed Forces. Tim shared about his days in Vietnam. There’s even an old photo of his days with the Dixie Echoes. A must-read!!
ANNUAL EVENT ALERT
Gold City will be one of the featured artists on Friday, November 23rd in Florence, AL at the Florence Coliseum. It’s Alabama’s oldest and largest Thanksgiving Sing. Our friends, The Perrys, Jeff and Sheri Easter, and Karen Peck and New River will be joining us for this fantastic evening. For more information, go to www.billbaileyconcerts.com.

Gold City Extends Voting for NQC Song Line Up
From Gold City E-News August 9, 2012
WEEKEND REWIND
It was a busy weekend for the Gold City bus. We headed to Joplin, MO for a concert to benefit tornado victims who were devastated by last year’s storms there. There we were joined by our friends, The Mike LeFevre Quartet, for this great evening. Then we headed to Gainesville, GA for another big night of gospel music with Karen Peck and New River, the Whisnants and the Nelons. This was a fund-raiser for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Sunday, we rounded out the weekend singing for the fine folks in Greenville, KY at Carter Creek Baptist Church. Keep watching our schedule and make plans to be with us soon!
A BIG SHOUT OUT
We want to thank our former bus driver, Kevin Owens, for jumping back into the driver’s seat for us this past weekend. As you can see by our weekend rewind above, we had some major ground to cover from one date to the next, and it was such a blessing to have an extra driver on board. Thanks, Kevin!

Call your local radio station today and request them to play “Lord Of Life” that the message of hope would continue to reach those who so desperately need to hear it.

Gold City News
From Gold City Newsletter August 1, 2012:
WEEKEND REWIND
Gold City has been all over the map this weekend. We had a blast in Barnesville, GA last Friday night with our friends, The Old Paths. Then we headed over to Lawrenceburg, TN for the annual James D. Vaughn Southern Gospel Music Festival. We were joined by our friends, The Kingsmen and the Mark Trammell Quartet, for a great night in the birthplace of southern gospel music. Sunday, the friendly folks at Berea, KY made us feel so welcome. And then Monday, we made our way to the Auglaize County Fairgrounds. Yes, we said fairgrounds, so you know what that means. The corn dog and funnel cake count decreased considerably after our bus pulled into the parking lot. Great times with great people like you are what make the many miles Gold City travels worth the sacrifice of leaving our families each week. Thanks for making our journey a sweeter one.
VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
The NQC Awards final ballot has been distributed to everyone who is on the email list of the National Quartet Convention. If you received an email to a link for the final voting, please go vote and make Gold City’s legendary singer, Tim Riley, your pick for favorite bass. We may be a tad bit prejudiced, but we think he’s the best there is, and we know you love him, too. So cast your vote today. The deadline of August 1st is fast approaching. Let’s make Tim Riley the winner!
PICK OUR SET LIST
The suggestions continue to pour into our office with your favorite Gold City songs. As mentioned in last week’s e-newsletter, we are opening up our Wednesday slot on the National Quartet Convention to our fans to decide what songs we will be singing that night. Wednesday, September 12, is All-Quartet Night at NQC, and so we thought it would be fun to have you all send in what songs you want to hear that night. So, email your three favorite Gold City song titles towww.goldcitynqcsongs@gmail.com. We are excited to see what we will be performing that evening. Voting ends August 31st, so get your suggestions in before then.
A LITTLE EXTRA
Also during NQC week, the Beckie Simmons Agency will be hosting a special presentation to honor Gold City for their four decades of number one hit songs. You’ll be hearing more about this in the weeks to come, but we are so excited we wanted to share the initial news with you this week.
SINGLE NEWS
The reports continue to indicate that Lord of Life is a new fan favorite among radio listeners across the nation. Thank you all for continuing to call your local stations and request this song. We are excited that the message that Jesus is alive still stirs hearts today!
DON'T FORGET
We are cruising! In August, we're sailing on the Branson Belle and then in January it's a cruise to Jamaica!! Visit our website for all the details.

Gold City News and Response to Colorado Shooting
WEEKEND REWIND
It was a great, but busy weekend for Gold City. We started out in Smyrna, TN, with all the Unthanks at the Absolutely Gospel Music Festival, where we sang with several of our gospel music friends. Then it was two days in the studio to work on some new music. Saturday, we headed over to Jackson, TN for a great night with the folks at the Civic Center there at the annual Songfest, before wrapping things up at Tuscaloosa, AL on Sunday. Gold City is blessed to be able to do what we love to do–sing to great folks like you all across the country.
LOOKING FORWARD
This is the weekend Gold City will be in concert at the James D. Vaughn Quartet Show held in Lawrenceburg, TN, the birthplace of southern gospel music. This is an annual concert, and this year’s event will be Thursday-Saturday, July 26-28. Gold City will be performing on the all-quartet night on Saturday with our buddies, The Kingsmen and the Mark Trammell Quartet. Host group the Kellys will also be performing and the weekend will be emceed by Josh Franks. The historic Crockett Theater will be the place to be for this great weekend of gospel music. For tickets or more information, call 1-800-547-6500. We will also be headed to Georgia and Ohio this weekend, so check our full schedule below or atwww.goldcityqt.com or www.bsaworld.com for a complete list of tour dates.
BIG NEWS AT NQC
You read it here first!! As most of you know, Gold City will once again be a part of the events in Louisville, KY during National Quartet Convention week. One of the three nights we will be performing is the ALL-QUARTET night on Wednesday, September 12th. For this evening’s concert set, Gold City is asking YOU to get involved. We want you to let us know what songs you would like to hear that evening. You will be creating our set list. It’s simple. Just email us the three songs you would like to hear us sing on Quartet Night, and we will take the top vote-getters and make that our song set for the night. Maybe you want to hear a classic like Midnight Cry, In My Robe of White or When I Get Carried Away. Or maybe you want to hear newer hits like I Cast My Bread, the recent chart-topping Peter James and John, or our latest single, Lord of Life. Perhaps you’d like a mixture of new and old. Just let us know. Send your entries to goldcitynqcsongs@gmail.com.
MORE NQC SPECIAL EVENTS
We have some additional things in the works for NQC that we’re still putting the finishing touches on. More information will be available soon, but you won’t want to miss the historical significance of this year’s NQC for Gold City. Keep reading our weekly newsletter for details as they unfold.

THE WRAP-UP
It’s been a week of tragedy in our nation. Our hearts mourn at the horrific events that took place in a Colorado movie theater this past weekend. Dear friends, we live in a world that desperately needs Jesus, and that makes what Gold City does even more important. We must spread the gospel no matter how we do it. It may be a pastor’s message, a quartet’s song, or some individual life like yours that lets the light of Christ shine upon everyone you meet. But everyone has a mission field. Hopefully, you have found yours and are doing all you can to reach the lost. As we pray for our nation, let us all resolve to live for Jesus every day in everything we do.

Gold City To Appear In Benefit Concert

Special Note from Gold City
Wednesday, April 27 our home state of Alabama was subject to a day of massive destruction. In a matter of hours, an estimated total of 173 tornadoes made their way through Alabama destroying everything in it’s path.
Men, women, children, pets and homes were lost on this horrific day. In some areas, entire communities were wiped out. The destruction that we see all around us, and the heartbreaking stories of lost loved ones and homes has weighed heavily on our hearts.
We have come together with a group of awesome people to do what we can to make a difference. We invite you personally to join us.
Pierson Chevrolet of Gadsden along with Three On A String, Foggy Hollow, Nashville Fiddleman Tim Watson and Gold City are proud to present a Relief Benefit Concert for our local communities that were affected by these storms.
We personally invite you to come out Wednesday June 15th for an evening of fun, fellowship, and great music for a great cause at the Foggy Hollow Farm in the Webster’s Chapel, AL community, located between Gadsden and Anniston.
Free admission!! Concessions and handicap parking will be available. All you need to do is bring your own lawn chair and a friend! Gates open at 4:30 PM.
We are praying that you and your church will get together, load up and come join in helping our neighbors. We believe we have the best fans and friends out there, and we would love to have you come show our local communities just how amazing and supportive you all are!
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers and support and we hope to see you and your church there!
Foggy Hollow Farm is at 439 Ross Lake Road and has a Wellington postal code, 36279, for those using GPS. The farm is about halfway between Gadsden and Anniston. Turn off U.S. Highway 431 (look for brown highway signs). From Gadsden, turn left onto Webster's Chapel Road / Cobb City Road. At the next intersection, a T, turn left onto Hollingsworth Drive. Shortly ahead, the road Ys. Bear right onto A.P. Hollingsworth Road. At the T, turn left and then immediately right onto Ross Lake Road.

Dan Keeton Joins Gold City

An Open Letter from Gold City:
Brent Mitchell has decided to come off the road. As many of you know, Brent and Heather welcomed a new baby girl, Paislee, back in January. Brent says, "My 3 month old daughter, Paislee, has been very sick for the past few weeks and I feel I need to be with my family at this time. Family has always come first in my life, but I am so sad to leave my dream job. I did not think it was fair to Gold City for me to hold them back not knowing the future health of my little girl. Please pray for my family and for Paislee, that she will get through whatever her little body is going through right now. I will miss GC and cherish the little time I had there!"
Daniel Riley says, "We will miss Brent. During his time here we have grown to love him. He will always be a part of the Gold City family. I know this was a very hard decision for him, but I admire him for making the right decision."
Filling the tenor position is Dan Keeton. In an open letter to his friends, Dan shares,
"When I was 16 years old, I began singing with my first Gospel Quartet. I had already been through a childhood of pain and heartache. I had to grow up really fast. But, Grandma's box of Gospel Music and the music I heard on the radio, gave me some real heroes to look up to. I heard on the radio that the Gold City Quartet was coming to Beaver Dam, KY. That was only 25 minutes away!
I had just bought my first car, a green and rust Plymouth Volare'. I filled up with gas, bought a Coke and headed off to Beaver Dam. I got to the church 4 hours early! I waited in the parking lot for Gold City to arrive in the bus. I waited but, when they had not arrived after 30 minutes, I decided I needed another Coke.
I started driving down the road toward the corner store and coming toward the church was the big bus. I whipped her around, pulled in behind the bus and jumped out to meet The Gold City Quartet. Off they came; Brian Free, Ivan Parker, Gary Jones, Mike LeFevre and the man, Tim Riley!
The music, the band, the voices and the message I heard that very night removed all doubt. I prayed all the way home that God would allow me to sing with a quartet "just like" that one. It might take 26 years, or it might not be exactly what you asked for but, God does answer your prayers."
We are thrilled that Dan has accepted the tenor position and look forward to introducing him to our friends!

Message from Gold City

This past weekend, Gold City had to prematurely close an extended tour due to unfortunate circumstances beyond the control of the group's management. Since then, many rumors have abounded about the legendary group's future, and as a result, their office and the offices of The Beckie Simmons Agency have been flooded with calls expressing concern about pending engagements.
The fact is Gold City is alive and well, and will appear this week in Graysville, Alabama (Friday), Lakeland, Florida ( Saturday) and Bradenton, Florida (Sunday)—as well as all dates that have been previously scheduled and the dates that will be added in the future!
Daniel Riley, his father, Tim, and the other members of Gold City look forward to seeing you at a concert soon!

News from Daniel Riley of Gold City

Whew! I've finally had a few minutes to stop, breathe and gather my thoughts. This past month, it seems we have been going full throttle, with little time to slow down. I'll do my best to recap what we've been up to.
National Quartet Convention 2010
Last week, we were in Louisville, KY for NQC 2010. We had a great year! We performed on the main stage Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. We were also honored to be asked to sing at Daywind's Fire In the Choir Showcase, as well as Bill Gaither's Homecoming Sing-A-Long. It is such a busy week, but we always enjoy getting to see our friends from all across the country, and even other countries. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth and said hello!
Welcome Bryan Elliott
I would like you to welcome Bryan Elliott to the Gold City family. Bryan is joining us as our new pianist. He has a long history in Southern Gospel music, with tenures with the Anchormen, Palmetto State Quartet and most recently, the Perrys. We've all known Bryan for many years, so it's more than bringing a pianist on board. We're adding a long-time friend. He will be playing for us starting this Thursday in Franklin, TN. Be sure to come by our table and tell Bryan how glad you are to have him a part of Gold City.
Gold City Reunion
For the first time in 18 years, the lineup of Brian Free, Ivan Parker, Mike Lefevre and Tim Riley took the stage, in Louisville, KY, at NQC, for the 100th Anniversary Celebration. As soon as the group was introduced, the entire crowd was on their feet. They remained standing through the first song. The three songs performed were, "When I Get Carried Away," "I Think I'll Read It Again," and "Midnight Cry."
I sat in the audience like a little kid. My two favorite groups have always been Gold City and the Singing Americans. Seeing these two groups on stage, really took me back to my childhood. I could have sat there and listened all day!
Brand New Music
New music has arrived!! We have released two brand new CDs over the last two weeks. The first CD is A Collection of Favorites Volume 1. We all sat down and came up with songs we loved, or that had influenced us earlier in our life. This CD includes songs such as, "We'll Soon Be Done With Troubles And Trials," "There Is A River," "Rainbow Of Love," and "He Hideth My Soul."
The second CD is Tim Riley - Lifetime of Treasures. To make this CD happen, myself and the rest of the guys had to convince my dad to do it. I'll let you in on a little secret....He honestly doesn't think anyone will buy it! You can prove him wrong. His CD includes "Under Control," "When He Reached Down His Hand For Me," "How Big Is God," and "Blessed Assurance."
To get your copies, visit the Gold City Store, email sharon.goldcity@att.net, or call 256-492-0942.

Josh Cobb and Roy Webb Join Gold City
Gold City is excited to announce two new members: Roy Webb and Joshua Cobb are joining one of Southern Gospel music's most awarded quartets, effective immediately."Words cannot express the excitement Gold City has about the addition of these two extremely talented men," states Daniel Riley. "It's no secret that we have had our share of changes in the past several months. We want to publicly thank the fans for their encouragement and prayers during our time of transition. We feel those prayers have been answered, and God has assembled a great team of talented men, ready to carry on the legacy that was started 30 years ago."Roy Webb is no stranger to Southern Gospel music fans, having traveled with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound for nearly four years. With his quick wit and incredible piano ability, he has won the hearts of fans all over the world."I have been a Gold City fan since I first heard them in 1984," says Roy. "I have always loved their music and I consider it an honor to be able to play for them!"While Roy is NOT giving up his solo status, he will be playing for Gold City on numerous dates. "I absolutely LOVE being a soloist, and I will ALWAYS do solo ministry. However, on those dates where I am not scheduled for a solo concert, you will find me at the piano playing for this incredible quartet."Joshua Cobb is no newcomer to Southern Gospel music. Most fans will remember him as the original tenor for the group Legacy Five and a former Horizon Individual Singing News Fan Award Winner. "Its hard to believe that I have been away from this great music for almost 10 years," states Joshua. "It has always been my first love and it feels great to be able to join forces with such a heralded quartet that will no doubt continue to have great success in this industry.""We knew Joshua was singing we just didn't know where," adds Daniel. "So we tracked him down, and learned that he had a solo ministry and has turned down numerous recording deals and incredible offers in the past few years, and with a voice like his, I'm not surprised that he was in such demand."Joshua is looking forward to reuniting with friends and fans all across the country and is ready to step on stage with Tim Riley. "Tim has always been one of, if not, my favorite bass singers," says Joshua, "and to be able to stand on stage and watch this legend hit those low notes is going to be a thrill in itself!"Speaking of Tim, the legendary bass singer has committed to a return to the full-time world of Southern Gospel music and he looks forward to seeing all of his friends at a concert soon.
