Jeff & Sheri Easter Host 7th Annual Homecoming

Jeff & Sheri Easter are making final preparations for their 7th Annual Homecoming in Lincolnton, Ga. May 7-10, 2015.

The duo are bringing world-class award-winning talent to help raise funds for the Lewis Family Homeplace Restoration Fund.

"We're so excited to be bringing in Dailey and Vincent, the Bowling Family, the Isaacs, the Primitive Quartet, Karen Peck and New River, and the Browders for this year's event,” Sheri said. “Our goal when we began was to introduce our hometown to some of the best in southern gospel music and these artists definitely exceed that goal."

Jeff said adding to the continuing legacy of the event the show will also feature several original members of the Lewis Family and his family - the Easter Brothers.

"By having Little Roy Lewis & the Lizzy Long Show along with Lewis Tradition, you get the best of the still traveling Lewis Family members,” Jeff said. " Added to that are my folks who brought me into the world of music. They'are all crowd-pleasers."

Two-time Grammy nominees and six-time Dove winners Jeff & Sheri Easter host the event performing all three days at the Lewis Family Homeplace, 1935 Lewis Family Road, in Lincolnton, Ga.

Dailey and Vincent, The Bowling Family and Little Roy Lewis and Lizzy Long Show on Thursday at 7 p.m., The Isaacs, Primitive Quartet and Lewis Tradition on Friday at 7 p.m. and Karen Peck and New River, The Easter Brothers, The Browders on Saturday at 6 p.m. Adult admission is $20 and an additional love offering will be received. Children 12 and under free.

Sheri Easter will host Devotions with Sheri - a Ladies Private Brunch at the First Assembly of God, 328 May Avenue, Lincolnton, Ga. at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $35 and register online is required.

Saturday will also feature a talent contest beginning at 1 p.m. There is a $50 entry fee and performers must register online. Winner receives performance on Saturday evening show and 10 hours of recording studio time valued at $500.

James Easter will host a service on Sunday, May 10 at 11 a.m.

An Open Letter From Karen Peck Gooch

Hey Friends:)

My husband, Rickey Gooch, is the strongest and hardest working man I know. It is an honor and a blessing to be his wife.

A few weeks ago, Rickey discovered a knot in his neck. After consultation with his doctor Rickey was prescribed two rounds of antibiotics. After the knot did not go away, additional testing was ordered.

After a neck scan, two biopsies, a CT scan and a PET scan, Rickey was diagnosed with squamous carcinoma, a type of cancer. Thank the Lord, the cancer is confined to Rickey's left tonsil area and has not spread anywhere else within his body. As a result of this diagnosis, Rickey will begin a series of treatments in the coming days. The doctors feel very confident that the treatments will be successful and this will soon be behind us.

During the weeks Rickey and I have been dealing with this, the Lord has shown us such mercy and grace. He has reminded us of His sovereignty and even when we were at our lowest, we could feel His loving arms wrapping around us and covering us with peace that surpasses all understanding. Truthfully, we would not have made it this far without the Lord. Even though we are devastated, we realize the Lord is strengthening us more every day as we move forward.

Because of this situation Rickey and I stayed home for a few days to attend doctors appointments. We are so proud of our group, though, as they continued to travel to honor our commitments. Rickey and I want to offer our sincere appreciation to Katy Peach for filling in for me and doing an amazing job. Also, we give special thanks to Susan, Jeff, Matthew, Kari, Tripp King, and Danny Jones for stepping up and doing what needed to be done. Audiences were blessed and we were thrilled to learn that some even accepted Jesus as their Savior. Praise the Lord!

Rickey and I will be back on the road this weekend. We want to thank everyone for the love you have shown our family. We love y'all dearly. Please continue to pray for Rickey. We know that God will make this trial a blessing.

Daywind Artists and Songwriters Honored at the 45th Annual GMA Dove Awards

HENDERSONVILLE, TN – October 8, 2014 Daywind Records’ artists and songwriters received several Dove Awards at the 45^th Annual GMA Dove Awards held last night at Allen Arena on the campus of David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. The Dove Awards program airs globally on the Trinity Broadcasting Network on Sunday, October 12, 2014.

Karen Peck and New River, along with songwriters Kenna West, Karen Peck and Don Poythress, received the Dove Award for Southern Gospel Song of the Year for their #1 hit “Revival.”  “Revival” was the theme of a rousing segment on the show which also featured Brian Free and Assurance, Gordon Mote, and Ernie Haase and Signature Sound. After the win, Karen commented to the press gathered, “We grew up singing at those old time tent revivals, and we’ve been praying this year that God would just revive this world.”

Brian Free and Assurance won a Dove Award for their performance of the song “Say Amen.”  The song, from the album Unashamed, was awarded the Dove for Southern Gospel Performance of the Year. Produced by Daywind songwriter, Ricky Free, the song stayed in the top 10 of the Singing News radio charts for 4 months and is the leading contender for the top-charting song of the year for 2014.

The annual Diamond Awards recognize the best in Southern, Country and Bluegrass Christian music and are hosted by SGNScoops digital magazine and Coastal Media Group.

This year's Diamond Awards will be held at Creekside Gospel Music Convention at Pigeon Forge on November 3rd through 6th.

Last week Susan and I took the kids (along with Jeff) to the beach for one last hooray before school starts. Our husbands were too busy to break away for a couple of days. With the exception of them not being with us the weather, food, and the motel was perfect! Kari and Joseph (Susan's son) are seniors in High School. Matthew is a senior in college (Liberty online) and Jeff is enrolled in online Grad school. We are so proud of them for bettering their education! It has been an absolute joy having Joseph on the bus with us this summer. Jeff has been a great example to our kids and spends so much time hanging out with them. It is nice having 'youth' on our bus! Hopefully they are keeping the rest of us young!! Lol Our latest radio song, Everybody's Going Through Something, is doing very well and debuted at #32!! We are thrilled and thankful that it is connecting with our audience. Seems like now more than ever people are going through such hard times. Let's face it. As long as we are living on this earth, we will go through things... but it is great knowing that we are not alone.
