Hyssongs Tops Charts, and Receives First Singing News Award


Sharps Chapel, TN, October 29, 2014--The Hyssongs, a gospel music group from Rockport, ME, have been named Top New Trio of 2014 by the Singing News. This fan award recognizes the rising popularity of this group which now has back-to-back top 20 radio singles. Their new release, “I Was Blind, But Now I See,” written by Rodney Griffin, songwriter of the year, is #7 on the Singing News Top 80 and #4 on the SGN Scoops radio charts.

The Hyssongs, who began singing gospel music full-time in 2002, travel throughout the U. S. and Canada performing over 250 concerts per year.

Another honor bestowed on the group was a main stage appearance at the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, TN. This past September they performed their hit song to an audience of approximately 12,000 people.

Dell Hyssong, the baritone and founder of the group, when asked about their recent radio success said, “Our family is humbled that so many stations continue to play our music for the fans to enjoy. When we stepped out in faith to go into a full-time music ministry, we just wanted to make a difference and reach people for Jesus Christ.” Asked to comment on the award, tenor, Richard Hyssong said, “We were blown away when the presenters called our name.

The Isaacs Claim Three Singing News Fan Award Nominations

Nashville, TN (May 14, 2014) Renowned Gospel singing family group, the Isaacs, have made claim to three Singing News Fan Award nominations. This has been an exciting year for the Isaacs as they have been nominated and won in several genres of music including Bluegrass, Country, and Gospel.

Nominated for three awards, namely Mixed Group of the Year, Favorite Band, and Favorite Female Singer confirms to the Isaacs that hard work and using your talents for God do not go unnoticed.

Matriarch of the group, Lily Isaacs stated “We love what we do and we do it for the Lord, so these award nominations are a little blessing that makes our journey a little sweeter.”

Sonya Isaacs Yeary, nominated for Favorite Soprano commented “What an honor it is to be nominated by the very people we sing for every week, the Gospel music fans. Without these loving people we would be singing to empty pews, so thank you very much to all who voted for me and my family.”

About The Isaacs
The Isaacs, a multi-award winning family group who began singing 30 years ago, are based out of Nashville, TN . The vocalists are Lily Isaacs, Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs Yeary and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman. Playing their own acoustic instruments and joined by other band members, The Isaacs have a unique style that blends tight, family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation that appeals to a variety of audiences. Their musical influences emerge from all genres of music including bluegrass, rhythm and blues, folk, and country, contemporary acoustic and southern gospel. Zak Shumate is on percussion and is the only non family member in the group.

Family also just recently sang anthem at Indiana Pacers game and got a standing ovation. Concert venues include civic centers, auditoriums, arenas, fair grounds, parks, churches and other locations. They have performed the National Anthem for many sporting events, including a Cincinnati Bengal's football game, several Nashville Predators Hockey games, an Astros/ Braves pre-season baseball game as well as various political gatherings. They also received a standing ovation for their patriotic performance at Carnegie Hall.

Channing Eleton Nominated For Singing News Fan Award

Dalton, GA (March 24, 2014) What a way to start spring as Multi-Award nominated Singer/Songwriter/Musician Channing Eleton receives a nomination from the Singing News Fan Awards for New Soloist.

Speaking of the Fan Award nomination Channing commented "For my friends to recognize and support what I'm doing these days is truly an amazing honor. Knowing that I took a huge step of faith to present this whole other side of my artistry and ministry, makes it even more special. Thank you, thank you, thank you for nominating me for NEW SOLOIST in The Singing News Fan Awards."

First getting noticed with Phil Cross, Channing propelled to prominence as the piano player for Gold City. Since then he has established himself as one of the most respectable solo ministries in the Gospel Music world.

About Channing Eleton
For 4 1/2 years, he toured extensively with Poet Voices playing concerts from Delaware to California and from Canada to the Carribean. This led to so many great things for Eleton. He gained valuable experience while on the road, making many, many new friends.

Channing married his sweetheart, Christina Fleming, whom he’d met two years prior at a Poet Voices concert. Channing continues, “I know when I’m up on that stage, she’s praying for me. Words can’t even begin to describe how I feel. I am blessed more than I deserve. I’m so thankful!”

March 23, 2000 finds Eleton joining Gospel music super-group, Gold City. For the next six years, he tours as part Gold City’s ‘Band Of Gold’. In September of that year, Gold City’s band with Eleton, won The Singing News Fan Award for ‘BAND OF THE YEAR’. In May of 2001, the Southern Gospel Music Association named Channing Eleton as its ‘Musician Of The Year’. “I take great pride in this honor because it was voted on and awarded to me by my peers.” October of 2005, Channing resigned his position as Gold City’s keyboardist. Channing reflects, “I’ll always be thankful for my days spent with Gold City”.

Channing says “The older I get, the more I realize that God uses the different seasons of our lives to prepare for us what’s to come. I have learned to keep looking ahead. Keep plowing forward, while enjoying the present and living each day to its fullest.”

Tribute Quartet Joins Daywind Family

Hendersonville, TN (January 28, 2014) Daywind Records is pleased to announce the addition of Tribute Quartet to its roster of artists. Tribute is no stranger to Southern Gospel Music fans. The group was formed in 2006 by two former members of the Wilburns, Gary Casto and Josh Singletary. Those two are now joined on stage by tenor singer Riley Harrison Clark and bass singer Anthony Davis. The group received the Singing News Fan Award for Horizon Group of the Year in 2008. Their hit song, “Good News from Jerusalem” was nominated for the Singing News Fan Awards’ Song of the Year in 2013.

“Tribute Quartet is thrilled to be joining the Daywind family,” shared Gary Casto. “At this season in our ministry, after just celebrating our seventh year together, we are excited about the opportunity to work with this award-winning team as we continue to make great music for years to come.”

Added Josh Singletary, “It's exciting to watch an entity grow. Even more, a ministry. Tribute has seen a lot of growth over 7 years and each spurt has been a breath of fresh air. This is no exception. I am tickled to be a part of the Daywind family and anticipate a bright and productive future!”

The group has experienced some of its greatest success with its latest project, “Our Anthem.” Three of the songs on the project – “Good News from Jerusalem,” “Homesick Angel” and “God’s Gonna Send a Revival” – have experienced considerable success on the Singing News Magazine Top-80 Chart. “Good News from Jerusalem” was a No. 1 song in August of 2013 and was nominated for Song of the Year.

“Tribute has rapidly ascended to prominence in the Southern Gospel industry, and they are showing no signs of slowing down,” Daywind president Ed Leonard said. “We are excited to have the opportunity to work with such young, enthusiastic men and look forward to having the group as part of our growing roster of artists for a long time to come.”
