Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir to perform for Fox News Christmas Eve Special

Brooklyn, NY –The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir will perform for the Fox News Channel’s Christmas Eve special “A FOX & Friends Christmas” set to broadcast at 8:00 pm Eastern on December 24. The two-hour event will feature several entertainment guests including comedian Jeff Dunham, country music artist Craig Morgan, singer Leona Lewis, and X Factor finalist Carlos Guevara, among others. Fox & Friends co-hosts Steve Doocy, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Brian Kilmeade as well as FOX & Friends Weekend co-hosts Tucker Carlson, Anna Kooiman and Clayton Morris will interview Governor Sarah Palin, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, along with other notable guests.
Now in its 40th year, the Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir kicked the year off by singing “The Battle Hymn of The Republic” at President Obama’s inauguration ceremony on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to a worldwide television audience of over a billion people. The Choir was featured on the cover of The New York Times and highlighted in Time Magazine. Their 27th album, “Love Lead The Way,” debuted at #1 on iTunes Christian/Gospel albums chart.
Directed by Carol Cymbala, wife to Pastor Jim Cymbala, the 300-voice choir is a blend of ethnic and economic backgrounds, with members ranging from lawyers and doctors to former drug addicts. Since its inception when the Choir began with only nine members, Carol has never read music – though she has written numerous hit songs—and the choir has never used charts. To Carol, the purpose of a church choir is very specific and very essential.
“The ultimate purpose of a choir is to lead the congregation into the presence of God,” says Carol. “Prayer is vital. Preparing the choir spiritually is so important. I do feel strongly that the idea of many voices lifted up to the Lord, unified and in harmony, is a powerful thing. We also read of choirs in the Bible going forth and singing before the battles were waged. Beyond singing, it is also being able to minister personally to those hurting or in need of Jesus.”
The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir has performed at major music venues such as Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Madison Square Garden. Their accolades include six Grammy Awards, seven Dove Awards (Gospel Music’s Grammy equivalent), two #1 Billboard charting CDs and over four million albums sold. IStandWithPhil.com Petition Drive Calls for Phil Robertson's Immediate Return to Duck Dynasty

Petitioners ask A&E to cease its discriminatory censorship of Mr. Robertson and to treat people of faith with equality, fairness, and true tolerance

Contact: Kermit Rainman, Faith Driven Consumer, 919-645-0762,kermitr@faithdrivenconsumer.com

RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 19, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Faith Driven Consumer, an organization connecting Christian consumers with faith-compatible companies, has launched the IStandWithPhil.com petition drive, which calls for The A&E Network to immediately reinstate Mr. Phil Robertson to its #1 hit show, Duck Dynasty. IStandWithPhil.com is garnering strong support from Faith Driven Consumers with its call for tolerance, fairness, and respect for differing viewpoints in America's rainbow of diversity.

"Simply put, Phil Robertson is being censored and punished for quoting the Bible, and A&E's treatment of him is punitive and highly discriminatory," said Chris Stone, founder of Faith Driven Consumer. "Everyday people will not stand for this, they know bullying and violation of religious freedom when they see it. A&E's actions are censoring Faith Driven Consumers and eliminating them from an entertainment choice that they have overwhelmingly supported."

IStandWithPhil.com is leading the charge in the call for fairness and equality as we defend the fundamental American right to free speech and tradition of tolerance.

The IStandWithPhil.com online petition drive cites the A&E network's "intolerant, discriminatory, and punitive treatment" of the Duck Dynasty star, noting that "A&E's position, which in your own words is 'championing' the gay and lesbian community...excludes the views of Faith Driven Consumers and effectively censors a legitimate viewpoint held by the majority of Americans." IStandWithPhil.com calls for respect for the millions of viewers of the show, and demands that the network immediately reinstate Mr. Robertson and "formally apologize to him, his family, and the millions of viewers who tune in every week, stand by him, and share his worldview."

The complete petition can be seen here: istandwithphil.com

The 46 million strong Faith Driven Consumer market segment, which spends 1.75 trillion dollars annually, is rallying in support of Mr. Robertson and is closely watching the network's response. In addition to breaking nearly every cable TV record and bringing in huge dollars for A&E, Duck Dynasty's product tie-ins are projected to bring in more than $400 million dollars in revenue by the end of 2013. There are more than 75 licensing deals in effect and more than 1,200 Robertson-related products currently available in stores nationwide this Christmas shopping season.

About Faith Driven Consumer
Faith Driven Consumer is a movement connecting Christian consumers with companies that are relatively more compatible with a biblical worldview. By educating and engaging Christian consumers, Faith Driven Consumer provides an online community forum offering resources for making more faith-conscious decisions, encourages companies to meet the unique needs of Faith Driven Consumers, and offers a national voice for this rapidly emerging, economically powerful and Christ-centered consumer market segment. Reality Check: Blue Christmas

I need to confess from the outset that I am usually a very traditional decorator at Christmas. Usually it’s just red and green, silver and gold; heavy on the tinsel and icicles, light on the more modern baubles, and definitely no blue or purple. This year I have an urge to decorate in blue and it really doesn’t have anything to do with Elvis. It is not totally a reflection of my mood either, although Christmas will be a little blue this year with one empty chair at the family Christmas table.

For some, this blue feeling at Christmas is a little deeper than missing someone or feeling stressed because of the season. For those that are suffering from an overwhelming inescapable sadness, I urge you to talk to your medical doctor and your pastor. Chronic depression is not something you should try to fight alone, but look at holistically: spirit, soul and body. There are professionals who can bring you relief and peace. Please, seek them out. If you know of someone who may need your support to reach out for this type of assistance, please lend them that support.

If you are wanting to reach out to someone you know who is having a blue Christmas this year because of circumstances including loss, can I offer a few suggestions? Don’t expect them to call you. Call them with a few thoughts of how to guide them into conversation but don’t try to analyze or pepper them with questions. Drop by with some homemade goodies but don’t infringe on their time, unless they are alone and want to chat. Most of all, be open and sensitive to how they are feeling; don’t come with your own agenda or pre-supposed ideas of what you think they are feeling.

If this Christmas has you feeling blue or wondering what God has in store for your life, remember the eternal Hope that entered the world on that first Christmas. Jesus brought Hope to the world and this becomes a personal Hope when He is born within us.

If your trust is wavering because things have happened in the past year that have hurt you, that is a reason to draw closer to Him, not farther away. I’m so thankful we don’t serve a Santa Claus God who only exists to give us what we want. When He doesn’t answer our prayers the way we believe He should, it shouldn’t cause our Hope in Him to waver. We need to pray that He will strengthen our faith in that Hope.

Whatever colour your Christmas is this year, I trust that you draw closer to the Hope that was born in Bethlehem and that His light will shine on your heart and turn your life all the colours of the rainbow. He wants you to overflow with Hope and abundant life.

From my heart to yours, Merry Christmas!

Andrea's holiday EP, A Christmas to Remember, is now available online through her website and all digital retailers. Featuring seasonal classics and new tunes, the EP has something for everyone and truly ushers in that "holiday feeling" perfect for those special moments only experienced during the Christmas season.

"Christmas is my favorite time of the year," Andrea says. "I could listen to Christmas music all year long so recording these special tracks was so fun and exciting. I remember singing the classics with my family around the piano since when I was a little girl so being able to write some of the Christmas songs on my EP has been a gift in itself. There's one song particularly special on the EP entitled "This Holiday Give Love Away" that was co-written with my mother Diana Thomas. We had the best time writing together, drinking hot tea and turning on Christmas lights for inspiration. It's one of my favorites on the album!"

Reflecting on Christmas traditions, Andrea shares: "My favorite Christmas memory was decorating our house with my brother and sister for Christmas when I was 9 years old. My parents were out late that night and we were so excited to have the house a winter wonderland before they returned. We were all singing to Mariah Carey Christmas songs while decorating... It was priceless!"

The complete track listing for A Christmas to Remember is:
1. It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
2. A Christmas To Remember
3. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Doyle Lawson Celebrates 2nd Annual Bluegrass Music Appreciation Day

PIGEON FORGE, TN (December 14, 2013) – Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver celebrated the 2nd Annual Bluegrass Music Appreciation Day on Thursday evening at the Christmas in the Smokies Bluegrass Festival in beautiful Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The holiday was launched by social media guru and banjo player Lee Marcus in 2012 to raise awareness and appreciation of Bluegrass music.

In 2012, Doyle Lawson provided what Marcus called “rocket fuel” to the holiday’s inaugural year when Lawson sponsored a Favorite Song Promotion, which invited fans to name their favorite DLQ song. Lawson and his award-winning band Quicksilver, along with two red-clad North Pole types, joined in creating a fun video of the most requested song which was “Help Is On the Way.” The spot featured Lawson in a lively Christmas-flavored video, singing along side Santa and his elf, who bore a startling resemblance to Quicksilver members Josh Swift and Joe Dean. The video was shared throughout Bluegrass media, as well as via Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver’s website and Facebook page.

When Bluegrass Music Appreciation Day approached this year, Lawson again opened his song request lines, but this time Lawson asked for any song fans wanted to hear, regardless of whether he had recorded it. Favorites ranged from Tom T. Hall’s “I Love,” to the classic “Fox on the Run,” to a myriad of bluegrass gospel favorites.

Lawson chose an a cappella song originally requested by Teresa Breedlove of Maryville, Tennessee, after an overwhelming response to the song came flowing in after his Paramount Christmas concert.

The song Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver performed at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center on December 12 in honor of Bluegrass Appreciation Day is “There Is A God.”

“We’re happy to do whatever we can in support of Bluegrass music,” said Lawson, “and to give back to the fans who make it all worthwhile.”

Back Home Signs Recording Agreement

Nashville, TN (December 13, 2013) - Award winning and multi-talented Gospel group, Back Home, has signed a long term recording agreement with Cross Country Records. Back Home and Cross Country have partnered for the last 5 years and have turned out some of today's finest Southern/Country Gospel records.

"We just feel like if something is working, then keep doing it," says Jimmy Layne of Back Home. Jimmy continued "Cross Country has believed in us and our ministry from the very beginning, and they have produced us great music to be able reach the lost and encourage the saved.”

Jeff King and Chris Latham, owners of Cross Country, are completely hands on in the record making process. They each play, engineer, and produce each song on every album. They are both Nashville veterans, with accolades of their own. Jeff has toured with Reba McEntire for several years and is one of music's most in demand session players.

"I'm so happy to be working with Back Home. The music is fresh and real, telling powerful stories we can all relate to in some form. Their ministry brings comfort to those in need, and hope for people trying to change their lives. They've been through it, now they sing about it. If you haven't experienced a live concert.. Do it!" said Jeff King/Producer of Back Home and Cross Country Records.

Chris has engineered projects for many of today's top country acts and is an accomplished musician. Chris Latham commented "I feel privileged to be connected to Back Home's ministry. The life experiences, sincerity, and dedication to seeing peoples lives changed, shows up in their songwriting, vocal delivery, and live concerts. I look forward to seeing what else God has in store for them."

Back Home has had several songs on multiple charts, including the Singing News Chart, in the last year, and Jennifer is quickly becoming one of Gospel's most sought after new writers and has co-written with some of Country and Gospel's most successful writers. About Back Home

The ministry of the Award Winning and Award Nominated group Back Home is a true example of the parable of the Prodigal Son. The ups and downs of life are all too familiar to Jimmy and Jennifer Layne. Through suffering several miscarriages, one to a set of twins, Jimmy's struggle with major drug and alcoholism problems and losing both of their well-established jobs within three days of each other, the faithfulness of God has revealed itself time and time again. Journeying through their pain and heartache together, songwriting is the therapy that gets Jimmy and Jennifer through the tough times. Raw and heartfelt lyrics that can only come from "real life" experience accompany beautiful melodic tunes that are sure to touch the hearts of the young, old and everyone in between. They have recently added Jennifer's cousin, Stacy Pearcy to officially make them a trio.

About The Promise

For centuries Christians have sung praises to our Heavenly Father at important events. In Luke 2:13-14 we find that they sang praises on the announcement of the birth of Jesus Christ and Matthew records in chapter 26 that the Apostles sang during the last supper. The Promise keeps this tradition alive by singing the praises of our Savior in churches and concerts across the land.

About Brandon-Poole-Music-Ministry

An empty vessel ready for the Master's use, I have a desire to honor and glorify Jesus Christ. Born and raised in the piney woods of central Louisiana, I grew up in a small country church where I was influenced by godly men at a young age. I recall Wednesday night prayer groups where I would hear them pouring their hearts out before God and how it impacted me at that stage in my life. I would go on to follow in my grandfather's footsteps leading music and serving as a deacon in the church I have always called home. It is this Christian heritage that inspires me to sing for the Lord. As a singer and songwriter, I bare my heart and soul each time I perform. It is my desire for everyone to encounter the gospel of Christ through my music and be inspired to serve and live for Him.

Williamsons Invited To Perform In South Africa

Wetumkw, OK (December 10, 2013) Recently The Williamsons of Wetumka, Oklahoma were invited to present the music at a revival service near their home town. They were not aware that the evangelist was the Rev. Livingstone Zitha of Johannesburg, South Africa where he pastors a church of more than 5,000 members. He fell in love with the Southern Gospel music performed by The Williamsons and invited them to come to his church in South Africa along with other churches and to hold an area wide crusade at an athletic event field. The Williamsons have been working the past few years with Mike Russell of The World Mission Team who, along with The Williamsons, works in conjunction with The Gospel Station radio network. Rev. Russell was immediately put in charge of arrangements.

"Plans are beginning to take shape for the Williamson's third missionary journey with the Gospel Station's World mission team.” stated Mike Russell leader of the world mission team. Russell continued "Talk's have been on going for a year with Pastor Livingstone of Johannesburg South Africa for a joint effort to conduct a stadium crusade in the city of Johannesburg. What a privilege that God would allow us to work along side this powerful man of God. God is up to some good things."

Mike and Jan Russell along with the Williamson's will travel to South Africa during the month of November 2014 for the outreach. Those interested in participating in this exciting mission trip should contact the Williamson's, donnie@williamsonsmusic.com , The Gospel Station network" http://www.thegospelstation.com/ or the Russell's, mjruss@juno.com .

The Williamsons are excited about this new opportunity. They have been privileged to see nearly 9,000 lost souls make professions of faith in Jesus Christ in the past two years on mission endeavors. They are looking forward to seeing many thousands more come to Christ in South Africa!

In other news The Williamsons are releasing a new project.

The Williamsons are proud to announce the release of a brand new project featuring singer/songwriter Lisa Williamson. Lisa has written some new material for this project, much of it inspired by a very difficult situation through which she helped her parents. Songs like “I Will Be There Too”, “I’ve Made Up My Mind”, and one with a bluegrass feel “A Few Tears of Sorrow” were written to help encourage the Christian experiencing struggles. The title cut, “Counting My Blessings” is the old Irving Berlin song from the movie White Christmas which encourages us to remember all the wonderful things with which God has blessed us. It also includes two Dottie Rambo classics “We Shall Behold Him” and “Don’t Lift the Anchor”. She even included one song she wrote for her and Donnie’s two daughters, Sadie (age 8) and Olivia (age 6) called “Little Old Me”. They do a great job singing a great little song. Lisa says, “My hope is that people enjoy what they hear. It takes a lot of work to put a new recording together. If it encourages just one person, then that work was not in vain.” Counting My Blessings is expected to be released by January 1.

About The Williamsons

The Williamsons began sharing the Gospel through music in 1998 as The Homesteaders Quartet. The dream of Donnie Williamson was to form a group to sing classic Gospel music on a limited basis. What he wanted to do never occurred. From the group's onset their demand was overwhelming. Soon they were performing more than 100 dates a year. For the past several years The Williamsons have been in full time Christian ministry and entertainment and have traveled across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Their music has been in national charts and were they honored to be nominated to the Gospel Music Association for a Dove Award.

Their high energy musical style appeals to people of all ages. The versatility of The Williamsons is evident through the wide variety of musical styles they perform. There is always something for everyone. The marketing of their performances targets families and not just fans of any particular type of music. Spending an evening with The Williamsons is sure to be one that will lift you up, bless you, and entertain you all at the same time. Their primary desire is to share the Gospel in such a way that those in attendance who do not know Jesus Christ will come to know him before the program is over.
