The Skyline Boys Announce Exciting Changes

Nashville, TN (August 29th, 2013) – Powerhouse quartet, the Skyline Boys, are pleased to announce exciting changes and happenings with the group.

The first is the return of one member and the addition of another. Outstanding tenor singer, Jodi Hosterman, is back with the Skyline Boys. The group is thrilled to welcome him, along with a brand new addition, lead singer, Brian Alvey. Alvey, who is new to the Skyline Boys, is not at all new to Gospel music. Both gentlemen have vast experience and tremendous talent. The two, along with bass singer and group owner, Dennis Powers, and baritone singer, Chris Little, are excited about the days, months, and years ahead as they strive together to serve God and share the music that tells the story of His love.

The latest great news for the prominent Southern Gospel Quartet is a brand new, long term booking agreement with the acclaimed Dominion Agency (one entity of the mutil-faceted Michael Davis & Associates). Dennis Powers shares, "God is doing things we couldn't do and we are very excited about being with Michael Davis at Dominion Agency. We have a new project being released at NQC called " Favorite Hymns and Classics Vol. 2 with special guest Squire Parsons helping us on " Beulah Land. Everything we do is only possible because of the hope of Christ and our prayer is that every door He leads us through will lead us and others closer to Him."

Another highlight is that the group is back in the studio at Crossroads with producer, Jeff Collins, working on a dynamic new recording. Collins expresses, "It's great to be working again, in the studio here at Crossroads, producing the Skyline Boys, with Dennis, Chris, and new members Jodi Hosterman and Brian Alvey. I'm excited with the tracks we recently recorded and look forward to the upcoming vocal sessions at the end of September. This line up of singers promises to be one of the strongest yet for the quartet. In our preproduction sessions I've been blown away by the ability of this group of guys. I've known and worked with Jodi, Brian, Chris and Dennis in different groups before but there seems to be a special and unique blend that this specific group possesses. I can't wail until we get the project completed so folks can hear this fantastic quartet!"

The group's current single "Cool Drink Of Water" is now playing and climbing the charts on Southern Gospel radio around the world. Be listening for it and be watching for more great things to come from this quartet.

National Quartet Convention To Offer FREE FRIDAY Webcast

Louisville, KY - During the week of September 8 through September 14 over 40,000 Southern Gospel Music fans, representing at least 40 states and more than a half dozen foreign countries will travel to Louisville, KY, for the 56th Annual National Quartet Convention. This will be the 20th and final Convention in Louisville, before the event moves to the city of Pigeon Forge, TN, in 2014.

This year’s Convention will no doubt be special for those attending this final year in the city of Louisville. The world’s largest gathering of Southern gospel musicians and fans began meeting annually at Freedom Hall in 1994 bringing tens of thousands of people to the city. In 2012, the NQC brought 40,000 people to Louisville with an economic impact of $7,955,500. “The NQC has enjoyed remarkable success in Louisville as the Kentucky Expo Center gave us room to grow and reach our full potential. Though we feel the need to relocate to a vacation destination and a mobility friendly venue for the immediate future, we will always looks back fondly at our 20 conventions in Louisville as they were all more successful than any of the other NQC’s that had occurred prior to moving to Louisville.,” said Clarke Beasley, Executive Director of the NQC.

The new venue will be located in Pigeon Forge, TN, the state which hosted the very first NQC in 1958. Long-time Convention attendees are looking forward to the move; however, many wonderful memories have been made in Louisville, where the Convention has seen tremendous growth. With this year being the final year in Louisville special festivities are plan to celebrate the success of Louisville and the excitement that awaits in Pigeon Forge.

While thousands of fans will make their way to Louisville, many who are unable to attend the event in person will have the opportunity to watch performances taking place in Freedom Hall live, as it happens, or on demand through the NQC’s popular website, www.nqconline.com. All events taking place in Freedom Hall throughout NQC Week will be available through the webcast. This is a feature the NQC has offered for several years now; however, in celebration of the final year in Louisville, the NQC is making the Friday webcast available to the public for free. NQC Free Friday is expected to produce viewership from all over the world. “Through the webcast, subscribers can watch all events live, as they occur on the main stage in Freedom Hall or on demand through the end of October,” Beasley explains. “The webcast has been very popular over the past few years. Rose Gilley Releases Solo Project

NASHVILLE, TN: Singer / Songwriter, Rose Gilley has recorded a new solo project. Gilley owned and travelled with Southern Heritage who recorded four projects on the Garden Creek label, a division of Song Garden Music Group. Her association with the label and her love for the artists on Song Garden influenced her song selection for this project.

According to Rose, “Anyone who knows me knows that I’m about as country as it gets. I love The Chuck Wagon Gang, Canaan’s Crossing, The Diplomats and many other artists on Song Garden and so I’ve recorded many songs that some of these artists have done over the years.”

The project does include a few original songs, but all of the music stays very true to her style of music. The project is scheduled to be released at NQC.

The Award-winning Isaacs’ All-New Recording The Living Years Debuts at Top of Sales Charts

Family Group Garners Three 2013 Gospel Music Association (GMA) Nominations Including a Nod for Song of the Year

Group Receives Back to Back Nominations in 2013

NASHVILLE, Tenn--August 22nd, 2013—Multi-award-winning family group The Isaacs are celebrating the street week of their all-new recording, The Living Years, (Gaither Music Group) which landed at the #1 spot on the bluegrass chart, #1 on the southern gospel album chart and #9 on the contemporary Christian album sales report for this past week. In addition the group’s newly released Up Close and Personal DVD took the #1 position on the Christian Music Video chart and the #3 position on the Billboard Music Video chart, surrounded by Carrie Underwood, One Direction and The Eagles.

“We are so thrilled to have these spots on the charts for our new releases," stated Lily Isaacs. “It's a joy to see projects we poured ourselves into being received so warmly by the public, and what an honor to hold such prestigious chart positions alongside some of the music industry’s most respected artists!”

Produced by Ben Isaacs and Bill Gaither, the new release, recorded acoustically, captures the intricate family harmonies that have made this group a household name among Gospel music lovers and showcases the type of arrangements and musicality that have made them known for their “pedal-steel blend.”

The Isaacs garnered three Gospel Music Association (GMA) DOVE nominations for the 2013 awards show as announced at the press conference yesterday at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville, TN.

The group’s title cut from their last recording, Why Can’t We, written by Rebecca Isaacs Bowman, Sonya Isaacs Yeary and Jimmy Yeary, was nominated for Song of the Year as well as Southern Gospel Performance of the Year. In addition, group member Ben Isaacs, who received seven nominations in all, garnered a nod for Producer of the Year.

“It’s an honor to be nominated along with such great guys whom I have looked up to and respected,” stated Ben. “I’ve been very blessed to work with some very talented artists who make my job a joy, and I am thankful for the opportunity day in and day out to serve them and to be recognized in this way.”

Ben co-produced the song "Glorious Freedom" and the album Pure and Simple, by the Gaither Vocal Band (Gaither Music Group), alongside Bill Gaither, Michael English and David Phelps. The song was nominated in the Southern Gospel Performance of the Year category, and the album is up for Southern Gospel Album of the Year. He also co-produced Country Album of the Year nominee Mercy, by Aaron & Amanda Crabb, (co-produced with Aaron Crabb) as well as Back Home Again, by the Oak Ridge Boys, also nominated for Country Album of the Year.

In addition to his official nominations, Ben was also co-arranger of Bluegrass Song of the Year nominee "Standing in the Need Prayer," by the Oak Ridge Boys.

The Isaacs’ creativity is further captured on their new release which features a new rendition of “The Living Years,” the pop hit from the 80s originally recorded by Mike + the Mechanics as well as a cover of The Judds’ “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Ole Days).” It features the group’s unique version of the Dottie Rambo-penned classic “If That Isn’t Love,” an acapella rendition of “Walk Together Children” that features a signature “boom boom” bass part by Bill Gaither and the classic all-American tune “Ac-Cent-Tchu-ate the Positive.”

The Up Close and Personal DVD contains an intimate time of conversation and performances around the piano with Bill [Gaither], numerous appearances from various Homecoming stages ranging from Alaska to Jerusalem and a moving tribute to Lily’s mother, a Holocaust survivor.

The Living Years CD and the Up Close and Personal DVD are exclusively distributed by Capitol Christian Distribution and are now available throughout general market stores and the Christian marketplace in addition to online retailers including iTunes, Amazon and www.gaither.com.

The releases are being featured on tv networks including RFD, PBS, DISH TV, DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse, TBN, Family Net, FFE, RURAL TV, TNN, Airtime, CTN, The Walk TV (formerly Legacy), TCT and TLN and also in Canada on Vision TV, CTS, Grace TV and the Miracle Channel. The DVD is also featured on Gaither TV (available on Roku, Google and the Internet).

Today’s GMA DOVE nominations came on the heels of more good news for the Tennessee-based group following this week’s announcement that group member Sonya Isaacs Yeary has been nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year at the 24th Annual International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards, while Ben is currently nominated for Producer of the Year at this year’s National Quartet Convention (NQC) Awards to be held in Louisville, KY.

2nd Generation Joining Legends On The Sea Cruise

From 2nd Generation Email Newsletter for August 2013:

Important “Legends On The Sea” News Update: Get $100.00 off the regular price if you book by August 31st. Hurry!!!

Throughout the Spring and Summer of this year, many people who have sailed with Carnival Cruise Lines in the past, have been inundated with cruise specials, appearing to be sent from Carnival Cruise Lines. In fact, the emails are coming from a company who purchases excess or unsold rooms from Carnival and then sales them back to previous customers at what appears to be discounted prices…prices that are by no means guaranteed by Carnival Cruise Lines.

Here’s how it works: You receive an email advertising a trip for what seems to be an inexpensive price. You go online to purchase and discover that you must purchase the ticket(s) by midnight that same evening or possibly lose the lower rate. Concerned it is expedient that you secure the room immediately, you purchase the tickets(s) unaware that in the fine print of the agreement, you are most likely receiving a low grade accommodation, with only the possibility of an upgrade by Carnival Cruise Lines, if available. The problem is…Carnival Cruise Lines did not have an agreement with you for a possible upgrade, only the company who sold you the ticket(s) and that upgrade might never materialize. If it does, of course it may cost you an additional price. In the end, all you’ve really purchased is a bare bones cruise that will charge you additional gratuities for your cabin services and every meal, not to mention additional taxes for each port your cruise has visited, all upon disembarking. These taxes and gratuities can easily reach into the $300.00 range and leave you feeling financially violated. And did I mention that these cruise advertisements do not include gospel music?

With a “Legends On The Sea” cruise, we make your accommodations with Carnival Cruise Lines, via the reputable “Interworld Travel Agency,” not some knockoff company. This means, every price is guaranteed and your gratuities & port taxes are included in the price of your cruise. This also means, what you pay up front, is all you’ll ever have to pay! There is never a worry about the room you’re getting…whichever room you select, that’s the room you’ll being staying in! If you should decide to upgrade your room, you’ll get an actual upgrade too! In addition, included in your cruise package, is the cost of each concert attendance where you’ll experience the finest in Gospel Music featuring your hosting legends, The Freemans, The Rambos, Larry & Jana Hinson, along with many other special guest singers, who all guarantee to make your cruise aboard Legends not only an exciting vacation, but a truly uplifting spiritual event! (See Brochure for list of artists…all guest artists subject to change.)

Regular “Legends On The Sea” cruise prices begin at $799.00 for a category 4B (Interior Cabin, Rivera deck.) But right now through the end of August 2013, get $100.00 off per passenger. This means you get this coming year’s cruise for the past year’s price of just $699.00 per person! Hurry, August will be over soon and so will this special! In addition, we’re working to extend the October deadline for full payment to November or December, allowing you more time to complete your cruise payment. You simply won’t find a better time to get on board with the “Legends On The Sea” cruise than today!

Put your $200.00 deposit down now and get ready for the cruise of a lifetime, then sit back and relax with no worries…your cruise is booked with Legends! Contact Sandy Berry at Interworld Travel here on facebook at interworldtravel@facebook.com or 4utravel@bellsouth.net, 1-800-993-8785, to book your reservations. Send $200.00 deposit per person for non-suite rooms and $250.00 deposit per person for all suite rooms to… The Freemans (checks and money orders payable to (Legends On The Sea,) at, PO Box 1581, Hendersonville, TN. 37075.

Make sure you tell them that 2nd Geneneration is your "HOST" group. We are looking forward to seeing many of you again, and meeting many new friends. This is going to be a GREAT cruise. Don't miss it!!!!!!

Proverbs Praise Report on Bus Repairs

The Proverbs thank the Lord for providing the funds for approximately $7,000. in necessary vehicle repairs, as they began their busy summer touring schedule in early July.

As a registered CDN charity, the Proverbs are eligible for rebates on a portion of the HST they pay, so this rebate for 2012, covered most of the parts costs for our bus radiator as well as nearly $1000. for new exhaust pipes. The rest of the funds came from five other generous private donations.

We are so thankful for this financial miracle, which has allowed us to continue to travel safely, without interruptions to our ministry!

The Proverbs are seeking partners to become regular monthly supporters of this ministry. Donations tax deductible.

Your prayerful & financial support is vital to the survival of the Proverbs who are celebrating 46 years of ministry in 2013.

SUSAN -
This has been a great summer. Vacation to the beach. Lots of cookouts. I enjoyed spending time with my family. Joseph always keeps me laughing. He is comical. With summer approaching the the end, I am looking forward to the fall and seeing you at our concerts.

JEFF -
This has been a GREAT summer! I can't believe it's already on the downward swing, but it has been a blessings. We have experienced anointed services and met some of the sweetest people on the planet. For me, on my off days, I have once again managed the local swimming pool near where I live. It has been fun in the sun! Although it seems like it has rained every day, we have had a blast! I also had a blessed time with my girlfriend who has now gone back to college for her last year of nursing school. We have made lasting memories and she's been able to come to some of our dates. I am really excited about the fall, as it is my favorite season, especially on the road. I look forward to seeing you all soon!!!! Blessings!

KAREN -
This has been one of my favorite summers! Vacationing in Destin, Fl. with family and friends was definitely a highlight. KPNR Homecoming was a success. Gatlinburg Gathering was a huge blessing. Wednesday night church at Free Chapel was amazing. Matthew was busy with traveling with us but had a couple of dates with Parachute Parade. He also has a girlfriend!

Kari got a new car!! Well, it's used, but new to her! She and I have been driving around in her little candy apple red Mini Cooper. She also had her first acting lesson in Nashville. Rickey has been working hard in the hair salon. He is now selling Aveda products.

I have been busy being a Mom and loving every minute of it! Also I did a Skype audition for a Christian movie! I'm waiting to hear back from the producers.

We decided a while back to take a couple of Sundays off during the summer so we could spend quality time with our families. It has been nice going to church together as a family. Last Sunday after church, we went boating with some precious friends. Had a ball!!
And last but not least... I had my first colonoscopy! That was quite an experience! Lol (I know I'm listing only the fun things from the summer but y'all know that I usually over share! I just HAD to tell y'all!! ;)

There are so many things that I've left out. We loved all of the places that we went and met some wonderful new friends. The rest of the year will be awesome! I'm looking forward to the annual fall dates and the Abraham Productions cruise in November!

Be sure to check our schedule and come see us!

Love y'all! :)

The trails are currently “under construction” and ranch workers are concerned with the safety of the beloved guests and campers. “I hate to cancel this ride,” said Loretta Lynn. “This is one of my favorite things we do at the ranch but Mother Nature sure dealt us a big blow with the recent storm and then we had the fire and it really set us back. We are trying to make sure everyone is safe and that's our main concern. We sure hope to have everything back in order soon for more trail rides. I've been putting on the big organized trail rides for 30 years now and I ain't about to stop ... we just need a little more time.”

All other events at the Loretta Lynn Ranch - including the weekend Wrangler camp - will proceed as scheduled. Guests may inquire by calling 931-293-7700. Organizers will announce a new trail ride date as soon as possible.

Country Music sensation Kacey Musgraves is the next guest artist to perform at the ranch on August 30. Musgraves Mercy Nashville debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, was released on March 19 and hit the No. 1 position on the Billboard Country Chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. It’s evident that critics and fans alike have fallen in love with the voice of Kacey Musgraves and that voice will ring through the hills when steps onto the historic stage of the Loretta Lynn Ranch.

More information on future events is available online at www.LorettaLynn.com.

About Rene Jones
"The Christian Cowboy"

Born in "L.A." (in this case, "Lower Ashton"), a small community on the outskirts of Walterboro, South Carolina, Rene' was raised singing in the church. His family was involved in farming, and he spent many hours singing while riding the tractors and working the land. In his teens, Rene' joined the gospel group The Beacons, and it was this background that gave Rene' his vibrant and smooth voice of today. He sings with passion, putting his heart, body and soul into his music.

After The Beacons, Rene' decided to try his hand at country music. He performed in country clubs, variety shows, festivals, parades, and was a featured entertainer at the 1987 March of Dimes Telerama broadcast from Charleston, South Carolina. In 1992, after having the pleasure of performing in sold-out concerts with Linda Davis and Lang Scott, Rene' and his wife moved to Nashville and embarked on a series of tours across Eastern United States. Rene's third album brought him within inches of a record deal. However, at the last minute, the record executives decided Rene' was too country and signed their second choice artist for the deal. Imagine being too country for country music. However. . . God had a better plan!

In 2003, Rene' felt the Lord calling him back to his roots of gospel music. Rene's first Christian Country single was released to radio in March, 2005 by GodsChild Records. Since then, Rene' has had several songs to chart in the Top 10 of the Christian Country and Country Gospel charts. His single Rockin' On The Front Porch went to #1 in January, 2009. He has appeared in Music City News, Power Source and Christian Voice magazines. He and his wife have made several television appearances including TCT Network and Touching the World Ministries.

Rene' was bestowed the honor of receiving the 2007, 2009, & 2011 Male Vocalist of the Year Awards, the 2008 Soloist of the Year Award, and the prestigious 2009 & 2010 Christian Country Crown Jewel Awards from the United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians. He won the 2012 Video of the Year Award from the International Country Gospel Music Association for the song Bible By Her Bed.

SOUTHMEN SING TO INMATES

The Southmen Quartet recently performed at the Louisiana State Prison, better known as Angola Prison; once called one of the most prison picnotorious prisons in America, now a model for other prisons.
Under the direction of Warden Burl Cain, the prison is now one of the most efficient and respected prisons in America. Warden Cain is a strict disciplinarian, but he is also a very caring person. The inmates not only respect him, but they love him. Some of the inmates told me that the Warden was fair and honest with them and that they could converse with him. Obey the rules – that is all that the Warden asks. Most of the 5000+ inmates at Angola are there for life. They all have jobs, grow their own vegetables, and raise their meat on more than 18,000 acres.
Warden Cain is a Christian and believes that the only answer to our problems will come from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And he has instilled this in the inmates. Under Warden Cain they have built churches on the property and have 26 inmate churches. There are many chaplains – both full and part-time with volunteers as well. The head chaplain is Robert Toney and was our host while at Angola. Robert is truly a man of God and has a kind and gentle spirit with a true desire to encourage the inmates.
We loved every moment that we spent with Robert. And, O by the way, he is a great singer and joined in with the Southmen on a number. Out of more than 5000 inmates, Robert stated that more than 2000 are born-again Christians.
Warden Cain has converted Angola into a facility that prisons across the country are now embracing. Our visit there was a life changing experience for The Southmen. We left there with a new attitude, a greater desire to work for Jesus and spread joy and hope to people everywhere. The Southmen are a better quartet with a better ministry, and definitely are better men after our visit to Angola.
Angola is truly a place where God is moving. You could just say that Angola is in revival. Thanks to Warden Cain and Chaplain Toney for allowing us to be a part of what they stand for.

The Award-winning Isaacs Make the Most of The Living Years with All-New CD

Family Group Emphasizes Acclaimed Harmonies with Acoustic Approach to Their Latest Recording
Fans Able to Get Up Close and Personal with New Isaacs’ DVD
August 9th, 2013—NASHVILLE , Tenn.—Award-winning family group The Isaacs will release an all-new CD recording, The Living Years, on August 13th. Produced by Ben Isaacs (Oak Ridge Boys, Gaither Vocal Band) and Bill Gaither, the new release, recorded acoustically, captures the intricate family harmonies that have made this group a household name among Gospel music lovers and showcases the type of arrangements and musicality that have made them known for their “pedal-steel blend.”
“This release is really about the vocals and represents what we are doing the most LIVE in concert these days,” describes Ben, “whether at a bluegrass festival, a gospel concert or a church, we are emphasizing our harmonies and using less instruments on stage. You still get the stand-up bass, mandolin, banjo, guitar and percussion and the bluegrass numbers; but our overall approach in a LIVE setting is one that focuses on our harmony, which is where it all started for us.”
Those seamless harmonies are featured on the recording’s opener—a cover of “The Living Years,” a pop hit from the 80s originally recorded by Mike + the Mechanics.
“Bill [Gaither] suggested this song to us, and we are so glad he did,” recalls Ben. “What a great song. Our version is a bit looser and acoustic in style which I think brings the lyrics more front and center.”
Lyrics remain “front and center” on the group’s covers of the Gospel classics “For Those Tears I Died,” “I Am a Child of God” and “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” and on their impeccable, acapella rendition of “I Must Tell Jesus.” “Walk Together Children” is another acapella selection that features a signature “boom boom” bass part by Bill Gaither.
“This song sounds like a song from the 30s or 40s,” Ben explains. “This is one of those kinds of songs that Bill really loves. It has a barber shop feel.” “Bill is brilliant with harmony,” adds Lily, “the three parts come more naturally for us, but Bill is a master and a perfectionist with that fourth part—with those arrangements with chords that ‘rub’ together more unexpectedly.”
Not so unexpectedly, the group chose to record a Dottie Rambo-penned classic. “Becky brought ‘If That Isn’t Love’ to the bus one day before a show,” Ben recalls. “We went over it and Bill said, ‘We’re gonna sing this tonight!’ He often plays piano in concert with us for this song when we are with him. He is the ‘king of feel’ on the piano.”
Bill, Gloria and Buddy Greene wrote a new song for the release entitled “Leave It All on the Altar.” “You know it’s like a house. You make it look real modern, and that is going to date it eventually,” describes Ben. “You build a classic home and you won’t know when it was built. Bill is like that with songs, and this is an example of a new song that sounds timeless. This cut is more swamp-y…blues-y. It’s the most fun I had playing in the studio during the recording.”
Another “fun” tune featured on The Living Years is the classic “Ac-Cent-Tchu-ate the Positive.” “Becky brought this to the table,” recalls Lily. “She heard Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters’ version from the 40s, and we really learned it from the YouTube clip! This tune is familiar to a lot of people, and we love to watch audiences warmly singing along.”
Crowds can also join in on the group’s rendition of “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days),” originally recorded by The Judds. Recorded at Ricky Skaggs’ studio, Sonya used one of Ricky’s octave mandolins on this recording, and she eventually purchased it from him and now performs the song with it in concert.
“This song takes me to my dad’s parents’ home in Kentucky,” says Ben with a smile. “They were the epitome of what this song is about--being together, plowing fields, taking care of their cabin with 17 kids and no running water—this lyric takes me to that spot; and it features my favorite line on the entire album: “Did daddys really never go away?”
The newly written “I Wanna Be There” was an idea from Sonya and Becky that they brought to life with Sonya’s husband, Jimmy Yeary. An emotional tearjerker getting early rave reviews, the song features Gordon Mote on the piano which marks the only time piano is used on The Living Years.
Also releasing on Tuesday is Up Close and Personal, an all-new DVD from The Isaacs that contains an intimate time of conversation and performances around the piano with Bill, numerous appearances from various Homecoming stages ranging from Alaska to Jerusalem and a moving tribute to Lily’s mother.
The Living Years CD and DVD will be exclusively distributed by Capitol Christian Distribution and made available throughout general market stores and the Christian marketplace in addition to online retailers including iTunes, Amazon and www.gaither.com.
The release will be featured on tv networks including RFD, PBS, DISH TV, DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse, TBN, Family Net, FFE, RURAL TV, TNN, Airtime, CTN, The Walk TV (formerly Legacy), TCT and TLN and also in Canada on Vision TV, CTS, Grace TV and the Miracle Channel.
