Changes For Paul’s Journey

Change is something that we all go through in life and it comes and goes whether we like it or not. Sometimes it’s bad and sometime it’s good. In the last 37 plus years of ministry we have gone through changes many times, and through it all God has always and will always be in control.

Having said this, we are also announcing the departure of our tenor singer Stan Watson. Stan has been a part of our group for about two and half years now. Rod says: “we’ll miss Stan the Man for sure! He’s a great singer and stage man, but even more than that, he’s a great friend! I don’t know if I’ve ever known anyone with such a big heart as Stan”.

It’s been hard on him and his family these last couple of years with Stan living in Missouri and the group based out of Texas. We appreciate his and their sacrifice and devotion these last couple of years.
Stan will be joining another singing ministry on June 1 and we’ll let them make that announcement in their own time. This is definitely the right move for Stan and his family. We will miss them very much and are praying for their future as well.

Joe Kitson’s brother Kurtis Kitson will be filling in the tenor position for a while. Kurtis is a very talented young man so Paul’s Journey will not miss a beat.

We are now accepting applications for the next full time tenor position for our group. If you are interested please send resume, picture, and demo to or call our office at 936-273-3074.

"Getting to work with Ry Cooder has been a dream of mine for a long time. He is a world-class musician," notes Skaggs. What an incredible artist! He is truly a 'one-of-a-kind' musician! Ricky and I share Ry's love for traditional country, bluegrass, and old-time gospel music. He is passionate about doing music that is authentic and real. It's infectious!"

"'Cooder-White-Skaggs' is the legacy express, or I'll eat a bug," quips Cooder. "You are going to hear four-part singing from the heart, the finest and best instrumental activity in the land, songs you know and love and to top it off, the indomitable Buck White on piano who will turn your money green. Now who's happy? That's the way we're gonna stay so knock on wood!"

Doug Anderson STATEMENT

Hello friends!
Yesterday during a video announcement it was announced that ever-popular vocalist Doug Anderson would be leaving Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. Below is a statement from Doug Anderson regarding the changes. Feel free to use this statement in any coverage.
Since the news was announced yesterday, I’ve been overwhelmed at the amount of love and support shown to me. Ernie Haase is my friend and is like a brother to me. The journey with him has been an amazing one and I will never be able to repay him for all he has done for me and my family. The last 13 years have been wonderful and I am going to miss climbing on the bus every week with ALL my brothers.
This decision was not an easy one, but one that I have complete peace about. As you saw in the video, nothing is wrong, no one is mad at anyone. I want to spend more time with my wife and girls, and I want them to travel with me some. It really is as simple as that.
I am very blessed that I can forge a new path on my own because of what Ernie Haase & Signature Sound did for me – I will be forever grateful.
I can’t wait to see you on the road! Please stay in touch with me on Twitter, Facebook and my website.
I LOVE YOU ALL and I will see you soon!

Award-winning Tenor DAVID PHELPS Tops Sales Charts

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–GRAMMY®-nominated, classically trained tenor David Phelps topped the sales charts this week with his all-new recording, Freedom (Gaither Music Group). Produced by Phelps and mentor/friend/gospel music legend Bill Gaither, the new release landed at #1 on the Southern Gospel Albums chart and at #10 on the CCM Albums chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan. In addition, Phelps’ previous release, Classic (Gaither Music Group), hit the #2 spot on the Southern Gospel Albums chart, while the Classic DVD topped the Christian Music Video chart and came in at #3 on the Billboard Top Music Video chart.
Phelps, who wrote or co-wrote nine songs on the new release, describes, “…This is a snapshot of where I am on my journey…it’s real life and faith — not the absence of trouble, just the ability to be led through it by our loving Savior. For me, these songs are like the rings of a tree telling its story: some years were plentiful; some were dry; in the end they speak of life.”
Those songs of life underscore Phelps’ ability to bring music to life and showcase his award-winning, three-octave range. The recording includes gospel standards such as “Ain’t No Grave,” “When the Saints Go Marching In” and a signature recording of “We Shall Behold Him”; yet one of the songs taking audiences by storm is the Phelps-penned “Ghost Town (Freedom).”
“The central theme of Freedom emanates from the title song, ‘Ghost Town (Freedom),’” explains Phelps. “I began writing the era-based lyric in the verses and was amazed how the metaphor of Christ painted itself…it’s about why He did what He did: freedom!’ So much of our spiritual lives (and the songs on this project) are spent searching for or trying to cling to freedom.”
The recording features Phelps’ anticipated powerhouse vocals along with musicianship from a who’s who of Nashville talents including Gordon Mote, Chris Rodriguez, Danny O’Lannerghty, Greg Ritchie, Sam Levine, David Davidson and Jack Jezzro among others. The orchestrations were penned by Phelps, Mote, Steve Mauldin and Kristin Wilkinson. The rest of the Gaither Vocal Band — Bill Gaither, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb and Todd Suttles – were on hand to perform some of the project’s background vocals.
Freedom is distributed through Capitol Christian Distribution and is available throughout general market stores and the Christian marketplace in addition to online retailers including iTunes, Amazon and

Michael English Hosts 2015 SGMG Harmony Honors Ceremony

Browders, Isaacs, and Three Bridges With Outstanding Performances

Nashville, Tenn (April 30, 2015) Grammy and Dove Award winning Michael English hosted the Southern Gospel Music Guild's 2015 Harmony Honors. It was a star studded Who's Who of Gospel singing which was highlighted by exciting performances by The Browders, The Isaacs, and Three Bridges.

The Harmony Honors was honoring two of the great songwriters of our era who have passed on to their Heavenly rewards, but leave us songs that will touch hearts many, many years to come. Honored were Dottie Rambo and Rusty Goodman who both have classic Gospel songs to their credits.

Three Bridges opened with the Dottie Rambo hit recorded by many artists including the soundtrack to the 'Preachers Wife' recorded by the late Whitney Houston, "I Go To The Rock”. Bringing the crowd to their feet they got the evening off to a feverish start.

The Isaacs performed Dottie's song "He Ain't Never Done Me Nothin' But Good” and were joined on stage by Rambo McGuire setting the crowd on fire once again. They later performed another Rambo song which has been a huge hit for them. "Mama's Teaching Angles How To Sing”.

The Browders, not to be outdone added their vibrant energy to the Rambo classic "I've Never Been This Homesick Before”. Once again the crowd received this song with worship and excitement.

Michael English sang Rusty Goodman's very popular "Who Am I?” to an exuberant crowd with hands raised and worshipful praise going on. He also told of how Rusty Goodman introduced him to his signature song, and how he didn't like it when he heard it. But, Michael recorded the song with the Goodmans and the rest is history. That song is "I Bowed On My Knees And Cried Holy”. That was a perfect way to close out the program.

Other performers that evening included The Blackwood Brothers, The Perrys, Tribute Quartet, The Lefevre Quartet, Freedom Quartet, The Nelons, The Jim Brady Trio, The Mark Trammell Quartet, Rambo/McGuire, Joseph Habedank, Goodman Revival, and The Old Paths Quartet.

The program is slated to be aired May 6th on TBN at 10:00PM EST/9:00PM CST.

They have entertained and ministered to millions through their recordings, TV appearances and live shows — which is why Three Bridges has quickly become one of the most prominent Gospel groups in Christian music today.

Following the release of the critically-acclaimed debut album, Soldiers (2002), Three Bridges has wowed packed-out venues across the nation…from Gospel singings, business conventions, churches, political meetings, TV shows, charitable relief events – all the way to Air Force One! About The Browders

From their beginning traveling together as a family in a Dodge Omni car, to a successful music ministry with national hits, The Browders of Hiltons, Virginia are one of the most exciting groups to step on stage in many years. This family group consists of Tommy Browder, his sons, Matthew and David, and Matthew’s wife, Sonya. They travel year round, keeping a full concert schedule as well as holding revivals across the country. One of their most captivating qualities is that The Browders play much of their music live with Tommy on acoustic lead, David on bass, Matthew on rhythm guitar and Sonya on piano. They also write most of their own music.

In recent years, they have been steadily expanding and improving their ministry for the glory of God. The were voted "Breakthrough Artist of the Year” in the prestigious 2013 AGM Awards. They have enjoyed Singing News #1 song charting success with original songs like "Praise You In This Valley,” "Message Of The Cross," and "Land Of No Goodbyes." . With the release of their highly-anticipated, "The Message” recording came a milestone—their first #1 radio singles. They are currently performing songs from that recording as well as their hits and most-requested songs. Their current new release 'Time Machine' already has a number one song on the AGM Charts in "He's Alive”.

Though things change throughout the years, their mission has remained the same—to bring hope to a lost and dying world and to encourage and challenge believers. They’re real and they’re anointed. We hope that in the near future you are able to attend or host a Browders’ concert to experience how God is working through this team.

Murfreesboro, TN (April 30, 2015) Bev McCann's dream was to form a troupe of her friends in Gospel Music ministry and travel the country with a life changing message that would change lives forever. That dream is coming true with the formation of Bev McCann and Friends.

Consisting of Bev's Friends are The Positive Cowboy (from the popular TV program The Music City Show) Jim Sheldon, Rachel Taylor, Campbell & Rowley, the Lori Jonathan Trio, and Don and Joy McCloud. While none of these friends are household names yet, their enthusiasm to do the work the Lord has called them to is unmatched by any big named artist.

The artists have toured though CA and recently through OH, MI, IN, KY, AL and TN. On this most recent tour over 200 came people to hear Bev McCann and Friends. Everyone left with a touch from heaven. It was a marvelous day.

Here is what the people said:

"I had lots of prayers answered. Yesterday was the best day I have had in years," exclaimed Brenda Duvendak, "It was totally awesome. I'm so thankful for living Hope."

Tom and Brenda’s daughter Hannah decided to follow Christ right after the concert. Helping her make that decision was one of the artists, Rachel Taylor.

Bev Zuvers shared that it had been a struggle to come to Sunday school, but then she heard Bev McCann talk about choices. "I didn’t feel like I wanted to come to Sunday school. I just wanted to stay in bed and only come to church. I wasn’t focused on God. I am so thankful I came.” "Listening to Bev McCann talk about choices was so appropriate. It touched my heart and spirit.”

Deb Nelson was at the church during the day and got to hear the group practice for the evening concert. "You could just feel the Holy Spirit when they were practicing,” she said. "It was beautiful.”

Actor/entertainer Randall Franks features amazing stories of giving Encouragement in latest book

Author/actor Randall Franks said he hopes the second in his Encouragers book series will help people reach out to others.
“Encouragers II: Walking with the Masters,” released this month worldwide from Peach Picked Publishing, shares 49 stories of actors, musicians and everyday folks who played a role in Franks's life.
The first of the series “Encouragers I : Finding the Light” was released last year.
“God sometimes gives to each of us a nudge or push along a path through those he sends into our lives,” he said. “My professional path starring on two American television networks or guest starring for the Grand Ole Opry would not have been possible without receiving even the least of these nudges.
“Even when we do not realize it, there are those behind the scenes who open doors,” he said. “This book shares the stories of people who were masters of their endeavors and decided to reach out and make a difference. Don’t miss your chance to change a life by sharing your encouragement with someone else.”
The second volume highlights performers such Grand Ole Opry star Roy Acuff; American icons Roy Rogers, Carroll O’Connor and “Dallas” legend Larry Hagman; country music masters Porter Wagoner and the Whites; bluegrass hall of famers Jim and Jesse McReynolds and Bill Monroe; and heralded gospel music performers Dottie Rambo, Hovie Lister and Bill Gaither.
Franks said that true masters who share their knowledge, skill, hopes and dreams can fuel destinies not even dreamed by the recipients. His book features narratives about and interviews with those who contributed to the direction of his career.
Franks, who is best known as “Officer Randy Goode” from the TV series “In the Heat of the Night,” starred in three series and 14 films. He became a country music personality as a youth beginning appearances at major country, folk, bluegrass and gospel events such as Country Music Association Fan Fair, National Folk Festival, National Black Arts Festival and for the Grand Ole Opry. With 21 career albums in four genres, he has performed to over 145 million fans around the world. Musically, he is recognized as an International Bluegrass Music Museum Legend and Independent Country Music Hall of Fame member. He is a syndicated columnist featured in newspapers across the Southeast and Midwestern U.S.
The 344-page book includes over 301 photos including 158 special Moments in Time photos featuring over 100 stars from Charlie Daniels to William Hurt, Jeannie C. Riley to Tanya Tucker from Randall’s personal collection and 51 celebrity, family and friend recipes.
