Ashley Deramus Delivers First Speech To 550 Students

Purvis, MS (April 30, 2013) Ashley Deramus doesn't let a little thing like Down Syndrome stop her from doing what she has been destined to do, bring awareness to special needs kids.

One her way to a big concert date Ashley stopped to address over 550 students at Purvis High School in Purvis, MS. It was Ashley's first time to ever give a speech in public and she wanted to give honor to her mentor Claudene Christian.

Claudene was a mate on the ship “HMS Bounty” which capsized and sank in the middle of hurricane Sandy. Claudene and the Captain of the ship, Robin Walbridge both lost their lives in the terrible storm.

Ashley spoke about her experiences on the Bounty with Claudene. The crew of the Bounty often took special needs and underprivileged kids on short voyages to teach them some of life’s lessons. Ashley was able to take a couple of those cruises and that is where Claudene and Ashley made such a deep connection.

Ashley's story touched the hearts of many of those high school students so greatly that they gave her a standing ovation. She was also requested to sing the Jason Crabb song “Love Is Stronger”.

All of this happened as she was on her way to the Singing In The Sun concert series where Ashley led the Pledge Of Allegiance on Thursday evening the 18th of April, opening the show for Jason Crabb. Over 5,000 people were at the concert which was promoted by Abraham Productions. The Ashley Deramus Foundation had a booth at the event and raised over $1,000 for the foundation which is dedicated to individuals with Down Syndrome & special needs.

You can contact Ashley through Gary Kannegiesser at 440-670-2897 or adreamgk@gmail.com .

About Steven Lawson

Steven grew up in a small town in the hills of West Virginia, where at the young age of eight it was inevitable that he was destined to sing. During his early years, you could find him playing piano and singing every Sunday with members of his family's church.

He joined the legendary “Calvary Echoes” headed by the inspiring songwriter Conrad Cooke. After his season there, Steven found himself on a tour bus with one of gospel music's premier quartets,The Dixie Melody Boys, where he sang for two years.

Steven then formed his own group, The Royal Heirs. While Steven managed The Royal Heirs, he encouraged and promoted the talents of many young artists who are singing and performing today.

We are extremely saddened by the news of our good friend George Jones' passing. Today is a dark for country music and music in general.

Mercy Wells Special Concert Announcement

From Mercy's Well email newsletter of April 25, 2013:

Can you believe it? April is almost gone! It certainly flew by for us...we spent almost half of the month away from home! Last weekend greatly reduced the miles put on our vehicle, as we sang in Burlington, NC (about 30 miles from the house) twice on Sunday. In the morning, we were privileged once again to share with Pastor Bob Cauthren and the folks at Hopedale Christian Church. This is probably our longest-tenured singing engagement, considering we have made this stop on our calendar every year for the past 10 or 11 years...always a treat!

Sunday evening's concert was held at Glen Hope Baptist Church, also in Burlington. Because of the close proximity of the two churches (about 5 miles apart), we had the opportunity to fellowship with some good friends at lunch and even get a little Sunday afternoon nap in, before setting up for the evening service. We had a good turnout that night, had a great service, and were able to get home at a decent hour. All in all, it was a great weekend!

SPECIAL CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT: For our North Carolina friends (and those who like to travel), mark your calendars for Saturday night, May 18. Balfour Baptist Church in Asheboro, NC will be hosting this special night of music at 7:00 PM. We are excited to be teaming up with another great Southern Gospel trio to make this night even better...but you will have to wait until next week to find out who! There will be no admission charge to this concert, but a love offering will be taken to support the groups. This date will be here before you know it - just over 3 weeks away! Make plans to join us - we'd love to see you there.

Have a blessed weekend!

Serving Him,
Brad, Greg & Kyle

AARON & AMANDA CRABB TAKE NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT AS CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED 'MERCY' RELEASED

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Dove Award-nominated singer/songwriters and worship leaders Aaron & Amanda Crabb take the national spotlight for multiple appearances this week, as their highly-anticipated fourth recording, Mercy (Difference Media/Capitol Christian Distribution), bows tomorrow to critical acclaim.

Aaron & Amanda Crabb are slated to appear tomorrow on Daystar Television Network’s flagship program, “Marcus & Joni," where they will perform several selections from Mercy. Reaching over 100 million households in the United States and over 680 million households worldwide, Daystar is the fastest growing faith-based television network in the world. In addition, the couple will be featured on an upcoming broadcast of “Life Today with James and Betty Robison,” which airs throughout the United States and Canada and reaches millions of homes in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Highlighting Mercy—among new recordings from such artists as Amy Grant, Alan Jackson and Hawk Nelson—in the “Reasons to Sing This Spring” feature, WatchGMCtv.com says, “Take The Crabb Family’s unmistakable Aaron Crabb with his wife Amanda’s angelic additions and the results are just as appealing to southern gospel audiences as they are the mainstream country scene…”

In addition, CCMMagazine.com’s April issue gives the album a four-star review: “Mercy incorporates the finest elements of country and gospel, invests straightforward messages of Christian hope and features two of the sweetest voices gracing gospel’s recent memory.”

This Sunday San Antonio’s Cornerstone Church will live-stream the official Mercy album release party on the ministry’s GETV.org at 6:30 pm CT. The event, which will feature surprise special guests, will be highlighted by Aaron & Amanda Crabb's performance and the duo responding to questions from fans.

Co-produced by Aaron Crabb and Ben Isaacs (The Oak Ridge Boys, The Isaacs), Mercy features 11 songs revealing a decidedly country direction for the duo, including the project’s debut mainstream country radio single “I’m Learning,” and the multi-format Christian radio single “Take Him To The Place.”

Aaron Crabb gained prominence as a member of the groundbreaking Crabb Family, one of the most popular acts in Southern Gospel music with more than 10 Dove Awards and three GRAMMY® nominations to their credit. Since the group disbanded in 2007, Aaron & Amanda Crabb have released three acclaimed projects as a duo—2008’s Dove-nominated After the Rain, 2009’s CD/DVD Live at Oaktree, and 2010’s Love With No End. The couple serve as worship leaders at San Antonio’s Cornerstone Church.

Difference Media is a division of Cornerstone Church, founded and pastored by John Hagee. The label features some of the leading names in Southern Gospel music, including Aaron & Amanda Crabb, Canton Junction, Matthew Hagee, Tim Duncan, The Cornerstone Sanctuary Choir, John Hagee and The Hagees. A non-denominational evangelical church with more than 20,000 active members, Cornerstone Church is home to John Hagee Ministries, which telecasts Pastor Hagee’s radio and television teachings throughout America and to 245 countries around the globe. The ministry also operates GETV, a 24/7 online television and video on-demand broadcast of sermons and original programming, as well as music videos and performances by Difference Media artists (www.getv.org).

Difference Media recently signed an exclusive distribution deal with Capitol Christian Distribution (formerly EMI CMG Distribution). Mercy is the label’s inaugural release under the new agreement.

Remake Of Classic Movie To Be Made in Katy, Texas

Katy, TX (April 19, 2013) Beth Roose Films is in the pre-production planning phase on the remake of the classic family film, “Tomboy and the Champ”.

Beth Roose, a Katy, TX resident who is CEO of Beth Roose Films, the company that will film the movie on location in Katy. The film will star Ben Johnson, Candy Moore and Jesse White. The original movie was released in 1961 and was also filmed in Katy.

“I just couldn’t resist the fun of doing a remake of this classic family film,” stated Roose, who will work with veteran actor Edward Faulkner to direct the made-for-TV movie.

Faulkner may be remembered from his acting roles in various John Wayne and Elvis Presley movies. Faulkner is also taking on the role of Uncle Jim in the “Tomboy and the Champ” remake.

New young film actress Eden Wood has been chosen for the lead role of Tommie Jo in the remake, which in addition to Faulkner, also features Don Collier of "High Chapparal" fame, as a reporter, Gospel singer Ian Owens as a minister and Lee Merriweather, an actress known for her many television roles as well as portraying Catwoman in the “Batman” series, in the role of Aunt Sara.

Safe for the family as “heartwarming family entertainment,” the remake focuses on life on a small East Texas ranch and the touching story of Tommie Jo’s devotion to her pet Angus steer.

According to Roose, filming is scheduled to begin at the end of August, and plans are to use Katy residents to fill minor roles as well as serve as film extras.''We also plan to use the local FFA chapter as they did in the original film, and I look forward to re-creating many of the original scenes.... especially the parade, which included the Katy High School band, cheerleaders and football team."

Roose said she and her crew will be working closely with the Mayor's Office to secure permits, as well as local community participation.

Roose said she was inspired to create positive, family-friendly films to try and counter some of the negative cartoons that today's kids are subjected.

"It is not unusual to hear and watch negative, disrespectful and rude characters and story lines," she said. "I strongly believe that families are searching for positive story lines [in today's cartoons and films]. That's why I branched out to do the remake of a family-friendly classic film."

In addition to "Tomboy and the Champ," Beth Roose Films plans to make another family movie, “Whirlwind,” based on the book by Alison Hart.

Scott Godsey and Associates are producing both the “Tomboy and the Champ” and “Whirlwind.”

In addition to the movies Roose and company are currently working on two music videos. One is titled “Christmas Needs Love to be Christmas” and features both Ian Owens and Eden Woods. The second is titled “Soul’d Out: Never Give Up.” Both are being produced by Scott Godsey and Associates.

Beth Roose Films can be contracted at http://bethroosefilms.com/ or https://www.facebook.com/ElfSparkle .

About Jim Sheldon
After serving many years as music minster, there was a void yet filled. In 1994, joined my first gospel quartet. Immediately, I knew singing gospel music was God's true calling for my life. He confirmed this with a paraphrase of Proverbs 3:6 - "In everything you do put God first, He will direct and crown your efforts with success."

My greatest inspiration came from Glenn Payne. The Cathedrals sang at my church in Virginia. He told me:"Vocalize daily and never sing out of your range. Remember, God gave you the ability and desire. Honor Him with a servant's heart."
Now God says it's time to tell my story of how God has brought me out from a long 'wilderness time' of sin, shame and disgrace to where I am today.

Mercy's Well News

From Mercy's Well email newsletter of April 18, 2013:

We did not get a chance to send out an update last week, so we are excited about this opportunity to catch you up on all that's been happening in our ministry! We had a great trip out to Texas, and want to thank all of the churches who partnered with us - Clarksville, Grand Saline, Gilmer, Muleshoe, Granbury, Arlington, and Ft. Worth - THANK YOU! We made a lot of new friends on this trip, and we hope to continue our relationship with them in the future.

As good as Texas was, it is nice to be home. Soon after we returned home, we received word that our current radio single "Beautiful Terrible Cross" debuted at #51 on the Singing News Top 80 chart for the month of May. We've heard so many ways that this song is touching people's hearts, so we want the message to continue to spread! Call your local Christian radio station and request to hear it today!

As brothers and sisters in Christ, believing in a God who is Sovereign and in control, we ask that you would join us in praying for all of the victims and those affected by the tragic events in the city of Boston earlier this week as well as the community of West, TX after Wednesday's horrific accident. As was the case after September 11, 2001, churches in America may be filled more than usual this weekend. Our prayer is that God would reveal Himself to those who need Him most in this dark hour, and that any who do not know Him would come to a saving knowledge and gain eternal life.

Have a blessed weekend!

Serving Him,
Brad, Greg & Kyle

Tara Jackson Announces Release of Second Album

Love Come Down set to release May 21!

April 18, 2013 // BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Christian music recording artist, Tara Jackson, has announced that her highly-anticipated sophomore solo project, Love Come Down, will be available world-wide via iTunes, AmazonMP3.com and her website TaraJacksonOnline.com on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.

Following up her successful debut album of 2008, Tara teamed with veteran songwriter/producers Jay Speight (Newsong, Travis Tritt) and Tyrus Morgan (Newsong) on the new project. The collaboration resulted in a smartly polished collection of bright pop melodies and moving ballads.

“Love Come Down is an honest reflection of where I've been, where I am, and who God is molding me to be,” Tara says. “Music, by its very nature, is an outpouring of triumphs and trials, stories set to song that encourage and uplift others. I was very intentional in making sure each song spoke deeply to me—testifying to God’s goodness and grace in my own life—and it’s my prayer they will speak to others’ hearts as well.”

To celebrate the release of this new project, Tara will be having a free concert at Liberty Church in Birmingham, AL, on Sunday, May 19, at 6:00 PM.

Special limited-edition pre-order packages are available exclusively at TaraJacksonOnline.com, including autographed copies of the new album.

About The Williamsons

The Williamsons began sharing the Gospel through music in 1998 as The Homesteaders Quartet. The dream of Donnie Williamson was to form a group to sing classic Gospel music on a limited basis. What he wanted to do never occurred. From the group's onset their demand was overwhelming. Soon they were performing more than 100 dates a year. For the past several years The Williamsons have been in full time Christian ministry and entertainment and have traveled across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Their music has been in national charts and were they honored to be nominated to the Gospel Music Association for a Dove Award.

LIGHTSIDE'S 'LIGHT THE WAY: THE BIBLE' HIDDEN OBJECT GAME DEBUTS ON iPAD

Official Game of No. 1 TV Show 'The Bible' Is First Christian Game on iPad

PLAY NOW: iPad or Facebook

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – April 17, 2013 – Lightside has launched an iPad version of Light the Way: The Bible, the official game of the record-setting History Channel miniseries The Bible. The first Christian game available for the iPad, Light the Way: The Bible reaches the millions of people worldwide who play online on that mobile device.

“With Light the Way: The Bible on iPad we piggyback on the tremendous, global success of The Bible series and create a fun, engaging way for people of faith to spread the word,” said Lightside Founder and CEO Brent Dusing. “Mobile devices are the fastest-growing access point to the web and outside of church are the most prolific way for Christians to enjoy community.”

Light the Way: The Bible weaves actual scenes from The Bible series into the game. Adults and children search for hidden objects in illustrations of biblical stories with images and music from show. Players also can solve puzzles and search for differences in side-by-side scene comparisons. And they can keep score and share their progress.

See Images From Light the Way—The Bible

“This is where the world meets the web and where Christians need to meet the world,” Dusing said.

Committed to creating high-quality games that communicate biblical stories in innovative ways, Lightside already is known for the Facebook games Journey of Moses and Journey of Jesus: The Calling, which have attracted close to five million players. And with Light the Way: The Bible, Lightside takes the next step in its mission.

“We make high-quality games that carry a powerful message that people of all ages enjoy,” Dusing said. “By using the world's largest technology platforms, like iPad and Facebook, our games touch people’s lives all over the globe.”

Lightside translates its games into multiple languages often reaching countries where the Gospel is seldom heard. As an example, there are only 70,000 Christians in Turkey, yet more than 100,000 people in that country have played Lightside’s games.

“We hear from players all the time, telling us, ‘It helps me be a better mom.’ and ‘It’s wonderful to see games for believers,’” Dusing said.

Those accolades have been echoed by well-known endorsers:

"A leader knows where people are and uses the language they use, and that’s the power of games from Lightside. With Jesus Christ and creativity in mind, Light the Way: The Bible builds the link to today’s parents and kids."-Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, President, National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference
“Light the Way: The Bible is a great mobile and social game inspired by the series. It's the perfect way for teachers, parents and children to have fun while exploring the scripture and engaging with The Bible series.”-Roma Downey, Producer, The Bible; Star, Touched By An Angel
“The Bible online in any form is the power of community pointing to the power of the Body in Christ. Here’s to the cutting-edge thinking—games!—to bring people together online, in person, and in Christ.”-Aaron Tabor, CEO, Jesus Daily
More than 250 million people worldwide play social games on Facebook and 175 million play on mobile devices. The Promise Trio Signs Agreement With AG Publicity

Indian Trial, NC (April 16, 2013) Dynamic young trio, The Promise Trio has signed an extensive publicity agreement with AG Publicity.
Deon Unthank of AG Publicity commented, “Though The Promise Trio has not been around a long time, I have watched them grow in their talents and status in Gospel Music. I feel they have a lot to offer with their various ministries and they have the ambition to go forward with what God has called them to do.”
The trio consists of Rick Blessing, Debra Carter Peele and Tina McKinney Booth. Each individual reaches the hearts of people in different ways. Rick has been singing since he was a child in different arenas. He has a vast knowledge of how music outside of the church is performed. Debra reaches out to people who feel they do not belong anywhere. Her personal testimony of feeling not wanted and not fitting in allows her to reach multitudes of people who have similar problems with the solution that Jesus is the answer to their needs. Tina has a strong testimony of how God healed her as a child. Put all three of those together and you have one powerful ministering team.
Debra Carter Peele stated “Almost six years ago, I felt the Lord leading me to start a group that would sing praises to Him but I resisted. I do not read a note of music and I had a terrible fear of speaking in front of people, much less singing. Then, I lost my hearing in my right ear in an accident. How could the Lord use me? I was broken and unqualified. In an act of obedience, I started The Promise Trio. Praise goes to God; He delivered me from the fear. He sent me Tina McKinney Booth and Rick Blessing and we have been ministering ever since.”

The Promise Trio can be reached to minister at your church or concert at http://www.thepromisetrio.com/trio, info@thepromisetrio.com, and you can also reach her at http://www.facebook.com/thepromisetrio.

About The Promise Trio

For centuries Christians have sung praises to our Heavenly Father at important events. In Luke 2:13-14 we find that they sang praises on the announcement of the birth of Jesus Christ and Matthew records in chapter 26 that the Apostles sang during the last supper. The Promise Trio keeps this tradition alive by singing the praises of our Savior in churches and concerts across the land.

Portland, TN (April 16,2013) After 87 years of full time gospel ministry, The King's Heralds have finally made it into the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.
“It all happened quite unexpectedly", said Don Scroggs the groups first tenor for the past 30 years. Continuing Scroggs stated "We were in the middle of a tour when a gentleman called our office and said he was from The Smithsonian Institute. He went on to explain that they were putting together a new exhibit on how the body is wonderfully put together and that it would be narrated by talk show host Conan O'Brian.”
Russell Hospedales, Baritone for the group added “He said that he had run on to a clip of The King's Heralds singing a song that we have sung for years called “Dry Bones” on YouTube, and asked for permission for them to use our song in the exhibit. Of course, we thought about that for a couple seconds and then said yes, we would be honored."
At 87 years and still going, the King's Heralds are the oldest active Gospel group performing today. “I'm the newest member of the group, but I don't feel old enough to be put in the Smithsonian” chimed in Bass extraordinaire Jeff Pearles.

The Mark Dubbeld Family Van Broken Into And Robbed

Greenwood, IN (April 15, 2013) For the second time in one week another Southern Gospel family has been robbed. Earlier this week Wilburn and Wilburn were robbed as they went in to eat at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant. This time the Mark Dubbeld Family had their van broken into and valuables taken.
In the words of Mark Dubbeld “My wife, Vincent and I were doing some shopping in Greenwood, IN at the Mall and we had gone into the store to purchase some clothes for the group. When we came out we just got into the Van and took off. Then all of a sudden Vincent said 'Where is my computer?' I said 'Are you sure you had it in the Van?' He said 'Yes!'. Then I remembered that I had been charging my smartphone in the vehicle...So we quickly pulled back into the Mall area and tried to flag down a security car. Once he came over we saw where the thief had broken into the drivers side door and there was a hole in the side door near the the key lock.”
As they thought the situation over for a bit Mark said “We were shocked, but yet at the same time very thankful. We had all of our wallets with us and we only lost our money bag with about $125.00 in it, Vincent lost his Mac Computer, and I lost my smart phone, but we are all safe and sound."
The Dubbelds have been working since then to secure all email and other accounts. They wish to thank everyone for praying for their family this weekend. They are grateful for being able to continue on to Illinois for their concerts on Sunday. Mark said "We trust in the strength of our Lord for his Blessing and continued help."
