Mercy's Well News

From Mercy's Well News September 26, 2013:

Fall is officially upon us! Cool, crisp evenings, football games and church homecomings are all in full swing! With the change of seasons also comes a change in seasons for Mercy's Well. As many of you know, nearly two weeks ago we said farewell to longtime MW vocalist, Kyle King. Kyle is pursuing other musical interests and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors. We are so thrilled to officially welcome Dustin Simmons of Dahlonega, GA to our team. Make plans to come see Mercy's Well and meet Dustin when we are in your area.

The last few weeks have been busy! We sang twice at the final NQC in Louisville, KY, including our first ever appearance on main stage in Freedom Hall. It was an exciting week filled with great music, great fellowship, and friends we only get to see once a year. Later that week, we traveled to West Fayetteville Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC for one of those "homecomings" I mentioned earlier and then finished out the weekend in Seagrove, NC. I want to personally thank Bill and Sue Spencer for helping make that evening such a success. They did an amazing job getting the word out. The church was packed and it was a great night! It was that night we officially said farewell to Kyle and debuted Dustin to a Mercy's Well audience. The reception was incredible! Thank you to all who were in attendance.

After rehearsals the following week, it was time for Dustin to fly solo, so to speak, on platform with Greg and myself. This past weekend, we were in services at Freedom Baptist Church in Axton, VA all day long with Pastor Larry Luffman. What a great day and a great first outing for the "NEW" Mercy's Well.

It's almost time to hit the road for this weekend's dates. If we are in your area, please come see us!

I have been reminded of a passage several times this week. It's familiar to us all but it has seemed to ring more true to me over the past few weeks:

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" - Proverbs 3:5-6

Trusting HIM for direction will always take you down the right road.

Have a great weekend!

In Christ Alone,
Brad, Greg & Dustin

Mercy’s Well Announces Changes and Welcomes A New Lead Singer

Nashville, TN (August 27, 2013) – It is with mixed emotions that vocal trio Mercy’s Well announces changes to their line up.
Lead singer, Kyle King, will be making his departure in mid September and, after a month of auditions and hearing many talented prospective singers, the group will be welcoming a powerhouse new vocalist. Dustin Simmons, of Dahlonega, Georgia, will make his debut appearance as the new lead singer for Mercy’s Well on September 22, 2013.
King, who has been a tremendous blessing to the group for many years, has felt God leading him in a new direction. He will be setting sail aboard a cruise ship, continuing to use the gifts God has given him but in a very new way. “It’s hard to describe, in words, the last three-and-a-half years I’ve been a part of Mercy’s Well, but I will try: privileged, humbled, and thankful,” shares Kyle. He continues, “I’m privileged to have experienced hundreds of worship services in multiple states, countries, and cultures; humbled to have been a witness of God’s amazing power at work in the lives of His people; and thankful to all the many friends, fans, and supporters of this ministry. My time with the group has truly been a blessing, and I look forward to seeing how God will continue to use each of us, for His glory, in years to come.”
Dustin and his wife, Morgan, will be relocating to North Carolina in the coming months and are very anxious and blessed to see Dustin following God’s plans for him in full-time music ministry. He has been singing for most of his life, including a 5 year tenure with the regional group Omega.
Mercy’s Well founder and tenor, Brad Strider, expresses, “A couple of months ago Kyle came to me and shared that he felt God leading him in a different direction. Anyone that knows me knows I don’t like change, but sometimes change can be God’s way of making everyone affected stronger. While we are sad to see Kyle go, we are excited about the future of Mercy’s Well with Dustin as part of our team.”
Mercy’s Well is making plans for a new recording in early 2014.

Mercy's Well News: Weekend Recap and Memorial Day Reminder

From Mercy's Well email newsletter of May 23, 2013:

As we reflect on the events of this past week, our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by the storms in the Midwest, especially the town of Moore, OK. While we as Christians realize and recognize that material possessions are not to be sought after and idolized, it is still extremely devastating to lose everything you own in just a matter of moments. For many families, the loss was more than material, and we pray for peace and comfort for the families of those killed in the storm. Continue to remember this community in your prayers, as the road to recovery will be lengthy. Be praying about ways you can help by donating money, bottled water, or even your time to help those who are hurting today. May we be the hands and feet of our Lord, Jesus.

Our weekend was a true blessing. Thanks to all of you who were able come out Saturday night to see our concert with the Jonathans - we enjoyed sharing the stage with them! Sunday morning was a return visit for us to Woodhaven Baptist Church in Apex, NC. It had been about 6 years since our last trip to Apex, so it was good to make some new friends in addition to sharing some new music with their congregation. We were also blessed to see God's people responding to His call to make a difference in our world. We saw ten families choose to sponsor a child through Compassion International - ten children whose lives are now changed, forever! It was truly amazing to be a part of that morning's worship.

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, we pray you and your loved ones stay safe as you travel - to the beach, to the mountains, or to your neighbor's backyard. Please take time to remember those men and women who gave their lives fighting for our country...we owe them ALL a great thanks.

Have a blessed weekend!

Serving Him,
Brad, Greg & Kyle

Mercy's Well Weekend News, In Concert May 18th with The Jonathans

From Mercy's Well email newsletter of May 9, 2013:

Happy Thursday to you! We hope and trust you have had a great week thus far, but if you haven't, do not fret - the weekend is in sight! If you were to read through the entire book of Psalms, you would find the ending to be very refreshing and exhilarating. Psalms 146-150 (often called the "Hallelujah Psalms"), have one common theme - praising God. He is worthy of our praise, and we have much to praise Him for! If you can't find anything to praise Him for, perhaps we can help...

We had a great weekend close to home, which started Sunday morning in Greensboro. Pastors Rodney, David, and everyone else at Rocky Knoll Baptist were so welcoming. We were able to hear the testimonies of two men who had come to know the Lord earlier that week - what a blessing! Our Sunday evening service was in Petersburg, VA, where we witnessed a woman come forward and pray with the pastor to receive Christ as her Lord and Savior! On Tuesday evening, we had the privilege of singing at a "Music Revival" service in New London, NC. God's presence was definitely felt, and before we even began the invitation hymn, a 14 yr-old boy - the pastor's own grandson - was walking down the aisle in tears, ready to receive Christ as His Savior and Lord!

Please know our hearts on these events...we give ALL of the praise, honor, and glory to God for what He is doing! It is a humble privilege to be used by God to present His message, and we strive to be faithful in the task we have been called to. It would not be possible without your prayers, so thank YOU - and keep up the good work!

SPECIAL CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT: We are just over a week away from our Spring Concert of Music and Praise! On Saturday, May 18, make plans to join us and our friends, The Jonathans, at Balfour Baptist Church in Asheboro, NC. Remember, there is NO ADMISSION CHARGE, but a love offering will be received. The concert will start at 7:00 PM. We hope to see you there!

Have a blessed weekend!

Mercy Wells Special Concert Announcement

From Mercy's Well email newsletter of April 25, 2013:

Can you believe it? April is almost gone! It certainly flew by for us...we spent almost half of the month away from home! Last weekend greatly reduced the miles put on our vehicle, as we sang in Burlington, NC (about 30 miles from the house) twice on Sunday. In the morning, we were privileged once again to share with Pastor Bob Cauthren and the folks at Hopedale Christian Church. This is probably our longest-tenured singing engagement, considering we have made this stop on our calendar every year for the past 10 or 11 years...always a treat!

Sunday evening's concert was held at Glen Hope Baptist Church, also in Burlington. Because of the close proximity of the two churches (about 5 miles apart), we had the opportunity to fellowship with some good friends at lunch and even get a little Sunday afternoon nap in, before setting up for the evening service. We had a good turnout that night, had a great service, and were able to get home at a decent hour. All in all, it was a great weekend!

SPECIAL CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT: For our North Carolina friends (and those who like to travel), mark your calendars for Saturday night, May 18. Balfour Baptist Church in Asheboro, NC will be hosting this special night of music at 7:00 PM. We are excited to be teaming up with another great Southern Gospel trio to make this night even better...but you will have to wait until next week to find out who! There will be no admission charge to this concert, but a love offering will be taken to support the groups. This date will be here before you know it - just over 3 weeks away! Make plans to join us - we'd love to see you there.

Have a blessed weekend!

Mercy's Well News

From Mercy's Well email newsletter of April 18, 2013:

We did not get a chance to send out an update last week, so we are excited about this opportunity to catch you up on all that's been happening in our ministry! We had a great trip out to Texas, and want to thank all of the churches who partnered with us - Clarksville, Grand Saline, Gilmer, Muleshoe, Granbury, Arlington, and Ft. Worth - THANK YOU! We made a lot of new friends on this trip, and we hope to continue our relationship with them in the future.

As good as Texas was, it is nice to be home. Soon after we returned home, we received word that our current radio single "Beautiful Terrible Cross" debuted at #51 on the Singing News Top 80 chart for the month of May. We've heard so many ways that this song is touching people's hearts, so we want the message to continue to spread! Call your local Christian radio station and request to hear it today!

As brothers and sisters in Christ, believing in a God who is Sovereign and in control, we ask that you would join us in praying for all of the victims and those affected by the tragic events in the city of Boston earlier this week as well as the community of West, TX after Wednesday's horrific accident. As was the case after September 11, 2001, churches in America may be filled more than usual this weekend. Our prayer is that God would reveal Himself to those who need Him most in this dark hour, and that any who do not know Him would come to a saving knowledge and gain eternal life.

Have a blessed weekend!

Mercy's Well News: Easter Review and 10-Day Texas Tour

From Mercy's Well newsletter of April 4, 2013:

Welcome to April! Even with March having five Sundays, it seems like the time just flew by. We trust each of you had a blessed Easter weekend and were able to enjoy sweet fellowship with church members, friends, and family. If nothing else, we hope you were able to worship our risen Savior and come away with a fresh perspective of how great He truly is!

We enjoyed a weekend off from singing, and took the time to relax and re-energize ourselves, both physically and spiritually. The break was well-timed, because we will be leaving this evening to start a 10-day tour of Texas (with a quick stop in Central TN). It has been some time since we last visited the Lone Star State, so we want to encourage all of our Texas friends to check the bottom of this newsletter for our scheduled appearances and come out to see us if you can!

We enjoy staying in contact with all of our friends and fans, and one of the great ways we can do that is through our Facebook page. You can LIKE us, then share your comments and keep up with our ministry as we travel. Once you LIKE our page, share it with others! We look forward to seeing you soon - in person AND online!

Have a great week!

Mercy's Well News

From Mercy's Well Newsletter of March 7, 2013:

We hope each of you had a great weekend to welcome the month of March! We know a lot of our friends and fans in the Midwest and the Northeast have been getting hammered with these fierce winter storms and are ready for Spring to arrive - it will be here soon. We will keep you in our prayers.

Our weekend in VA and NC was one that we will not soon forget! It started on Saturday night at The Church of God at Red Hill located in Boones Mill, VA. Following a delicious chili supper, we presented our service for Bro. Scott and those who had come out to support us. All three of us were battling sickness, but we made it through!

Sunday morning brought us to Concord UMC in Coleridge, NC. Bro. Steve Jones had invited us to join some of the men of their community as they gathered for their monthly Men's Prayer Breakfast. This time of food and fellowship was so special, and is something that is needed in communities all across this country! We need men in the church to stand up, join together, and make a difference in our world! We always enjoy our time with the folks at Concord, and Friend & Family Day is a great opportunity for us to fellowship with dear friends - and eat, again!

Sunday night is where things got interesting. As the afternoon wore on, Brad (who has been diagnosed with pneumonia), started feeling pretty bad. By the time we got to our date Sunday night, he was hardly able to sit up without feeling nauseous. We were able to do a soundcheck, and were prepared to hope for the best. We were NOT prepared for what happened next. Just before the service began, Brad took a turn for the worse and had to leave the sanctuary. For the first time in our 12-yr existence, Mercy's Well was a duo. Greg and I were able to finish the program - by God's grace - and survived the evening. Thanks to the folks at Totally Committed Ministries for bearing with us - you were great!

Please remember us in your prayers. Brad is still recovering and Greg and I are trying to stay healthy. We are looking forward to our trip to Florida this weekend - bring on the warm weather!

Have a blessed weekend, everyone!

Mercy's Well News

From Mercy's Well email newsletter of February 21, 2013:

We had some great services in NC and TN last weekend, and wanted to thank those of you who were able to come out and support us! Pastor Toby, Drew, and Mike from Enon Baptist Church made us feel right at home. We enjoyed a nice, warm breakfast and fellowship around the table before the morning service - a great way to start the day! We ended the evening at the church of our good friend, Brian Franklin. This was our first visit to FBC Mountain City, TN but hopefully not out last. We got Pastor Ricky up on the stage to sign with us, so we think that left a pretty good impression on him. He's one of us now!

One of the great opportunities we had while in Haiti was the privilege of sponsoring another child through our ministry - Ashlee. We met Ashlee and her family, and were able to spend just a few minutes talking with them about life. Ashlee's mother mentioned that, as a result of the earthquake in 2010, one of her tents (used for cooking, cleaning, etc.) had been severely damaged, and that she was trying to save their money to buy a new one. After this meeting with Ashlee's family, we spoke with some of the Compassion Int'l Directors who were with us, and inquired about what it would take to get Ashlee's family a new tent. A monetary goal was set, and we casually mentioned this idea to some dear friends of ours in Florida. The next week, upon our return to the States, we got a call from this couple saying they felt a burden to help, presented this need to their Sunday School class, and raised enough money - on the spot - to purchase a new tent for Ashlee and her family! This is so exciting for us! This is what being the hands and feet of Jesus is all about! Let this be an encouragement to you today: God is still in the business of changing lives through people like me and you!

Our most recent radio release, "Beautiful, Terrible Cross" is making its way onto more and more radio playlists across the country, so keep calling and requesting it - hopefully you will hear it on your station TODAY!

Have a blessed week!

Mercy's Well Releases New Radio Single "Beautiful, Terrible Cross"

From Mercy's Well email newsletter of February 7, 2013:

After the craziness of the last few weeks, it was nice to have a "normal" week for a change. We almost didn't know what to do! We had a great "Super Sunday" at Rushwood Pak Wesleyan Church in Asheboro, NC. Before we began our program in the service, we were blessed with the opportunity to watch two other ministries present their gifts. First, a black-light ministry from Raleigh, NC shared God's message by using choreographed movements and props to bring to life some amazing Christian music. The team was made up of seventeen teenagers and young adults. What a blessing it was to see young people using their creative gifts to honor God! Zach and Rodney, a Christian-Country music group, took the stage next. Their tight harmonies and original lyrics were well received, and their testimony to God's faithfulness was powerful. We ended the service with our set, wrapping up a great day!

We are excited to announce the release of our new radio single, "Beautiful, Terrible Cross". This song is from our WORSHIP: MODERN HYMNS FOR EVERY GENERATION project, and we are looking forward to seeing how God will use it to touch lives all across the country. Call into your local Christian radio station and request to hear it today!

You can have your own copy of this CD, and all our others, by going to our online store. Be sure to check out the accompaniment devotional book that goes along with the WORSHIP CD - a great tool for your personal walk with Christ!

Have a great week, and God bless!

Mercy's Well Report on Haiti Trip

From Mercy's Well email newsletter of February 1, 2013:

Our weekly update comes to you on a Friday this week, and we hope it finds you well! We have had a very busy week, and have so much to tell you about, so let's dive right in!

Brad and Greg returned from their trip to Haiti with Compassion International - and do they have some stories to share! To describe their time spent with the children of Haiti, a few words come to mind: "Blessed", "Humbled", and "Thankful". Not necessarily thankful for all the things we have here in the United States, although that is definitely a part of it. Seeing God work through Compassion to directly influence the lives of these people brought up feelings of thankfulness to God for who He is, and what He is able to do! He cares about EVERYONE on this planet - those with fancy cars in the big city, and those on a remote island with no electricity. God is so big, and so good!

Here are a couple of pictures we were able to take in Haiti. The first is a group of children gathered at a church awaiting our arrival. These children live on that remote island, with no electricity. Many of them had never seen white people before. The second picture is a young girl named Ashlee Bourdeau. Before we left for Haiti, we decided to sponsor a child from the area we would be visiting, with the hopes of getting to meet her face to face. We were privileged to meet Ashlee and her family. Words cannot describe the look on their faces when they found out we were her sponsors - truly life-changing!

There are so many more stories to share, and hopefully we will have more pictures and video soon! Another exciting opportunity we had this week was to fly out to Dallas, TX for a taping of Gospel Music Showcase. We were able to perform 8 of our songs for their filming crew, and sat down for about a twenty-minute interview. All of the songs and interview clips will be edited together to create a feature episode about us sometime in the future! Our episode will be airing sometime is Season 4 of the show, which will begin in August. When we know more about an exact date, we will certainly let you know!

Have a great weekend, and may you truly encounter and worship the Living God!

In Christ,
Brad, Greg & Kyle
