(Back, L-R): Bryan Walker,Wayne Haun and Ernie Haase (StowTown Records), David Ragan.
(Not Pictured) Jared Stuffle

NASHVILLE, TN (March 20, 2014) – The Perrys, undisputedly one of the most legendary groups in Southern Gospel history, have reached yet another milestone by completing their first recording in the studio with StowTown Records.

When it comes to new music releases this year, The Perrys’ “Into His Presence” CD is the one that fans and industry insiders alike have been waiting to hear, and the project hits retail on April 8, 2014. StowTown co-founders Ernie Haase and Wayne Haun (also the producer of the project) have been just as eager for this day to come, since they celebrated the signing of The Perrys to an exclusive contract on October 28, 2013.

Highly awarded during their 41-year fascinating career, The Perrys’ roster currently includes Libbi Perry Stuffle—the unforgettable alto who carries on the family legacy, along with her husband and beloved bass singer Tracy Stuffle, their son Jared (JK) Stuffle representing a new generation on bass vocals, lead singer David Ragan, and baritone Bryan Walker.

"I Can Trust Him" has already been shipped to radio as the debut single from the CD, and now fans can finally hear the rest of the story, since they have been eagerly watching the project unfold through posts by group members on social media. Few artists can claim a more devoted group of listeners, and this fan base has become even more loyal during the past year of praying The Perrys through new challenges and opportunities during the ongoing recovery of Tracy Stuffle after his initial stroke in January, 2013. Libbi Stuffle is quick to say that the eleven songs on the project “no doubt came from the Lord,” and it is her prayer that the songs “uplift, encourage and strengthen His children,” just as they have ministered to her.

To kick off the project’s release to retail and this new chapter for The Perrys, a release party for “Into His Presence” will be held on April 8, 2014, at LifeWay Christian Store in Hendersonville, TN. The festivities begin at 6:30 PM with a live performance by The Perrys, followed by a meet–and–greet, and CD signing opportunity for fans.

Rick Campbell Of Campbell and Rowley Suffers Loss

Beckley, WV (March 24,2014) Campbell and Rowley's lead vocalist Rick Campbell is requesting prayer for his family as his one day old grandson passed away yesterday.

On his FaceBook page Rick commented “Yesterday, we were proudly celebrating baby Jaxon's entry into this world. Today, we celebrate his entry into another new, and this time perfect world, as Jaxon has gone on to his eternal home. We'll never know, at least in this lifetime, why God decided to take him so soon. But we do know that in the one day, three hours, and ten minutes that he was here, he gave and received immeasurable joy and love. We'll miss you Jaxon . . . see you on the other side. In the meantime, go rest high.”

Death is never easy, but grandbabies have a way of grabbing your heart the minute you hold them. Little Jaxon had trouble holding his oxygen level and then it was discovered that he had a heart problem. Please hold the Campbell family in your thoughts and prayers.

You can contact the Rick Campbell family with your statements of sympathy at https://www.facebook.com/rick.campbell .

Campbell and Rowley are managed by Bev McCann and Friends.

For 4 1/2 years, he toured extensively with Poet Voices playing concerts from Delaware to California and from Canada to the Carribean. This led to so many great things for Eleton. He gained valuable experience while on the road, making many, many new friends.

Channing married his sweetheart, Christina Fleming, whom he’d met two years prior at a Poet Voices concert. Channing continues, “I know when I’m up on that stage, she’s praying for me. Words can’t even begin to describe how I feel. I am blessed more than I deserve. I’m so thankful!”

March 23, 2000 finds Eleton joining Gospel music super-group, Gold City. For the next six years, he tours as part Gold City’s ‘Band Of Gold’. In September of that year, Gold City’s band with Eleton, won The Singing News Fan Award for ‘BAND OF THE YEAR’. Bev McCann and Friends Promote Concert Supporting Sunday Mornin' Country

Nashville, TN (March 21, 2014) Long time Gospel music enthusiast Bev McCann and Friends will be promoting a Gospel concert on March 30th at 6PM at the Family Worship Center in Murfreesboro, TN.

The concert is to support and bring attention to the Annual Sunday Morning Country concert.

The Music City Christian Fellowship has been presenting this concert for years as an attempt to bring attention to the number of Christian artists in Country music. In June 1980, a group of Country Music artists and musicians wanted to honor God with the talents He had given them by sharing their songs and personal stories of faith. They came together in prayer and fellowship. They decided to have "A singin', prayin' get-together" for the Country Music fans during the annual Country Music Fan Fair Celebration (currently known as CMA Music Festival). Some 40-50 singers, musicians, writers, producers, promoters, etc. were involved in the first "Sunday Mornin' Country”. The event was so well received that the group organized to do similar ministries all year long.

As a prelude to the Sunday Mornin', Bev McCann and Friends are giving you a sample of the talent that will be performing. Bev is bringing together some great country sounds with Special Guest Tim Lovelace (Host, singer, and comedian for the Music city Show) along with the Blue Jean Band backing such artists as the Positive Cowboy – Jim Sheldon, Country/Gospel duo Campbell and Rowley, Rachel Taylor, and of course host Bev McCann.

For information about the concert call 615-893-0968.

SGMG TO PRESENT 2014 HARMONY HONORS MARCH 25 AT NASHVILLE'S TRINITY MUSIC CITY

Jason Crabb To Host All-Star Celebration Featuring Former US Attorney General John Ashcroft, The Perrys, LeFevre Quartet, Nelons, Gerald Wolfe, Legacy Five, Karen Peck & New River and many more

NASHVILLE (March 18, 2014) — Southern Gospel Music will be front and center at the Trinity Broadcasting Network's famed Trinity Music City in Nashville March 25th as TBN and Grammy Award winning Christian music artist Jason Crabb host the Southern Gospel Music Guild's 2014 Harmony Honors.

The annual Harmony Honors recognize the best and brightest singers, songwriters, quartets, groups, and innovators in this unique American musical genre that has comforted, inspired, and entertained generations of fans.

This year the Harmony Honors will recognize two of Southern Gospel Music's most storied publishing resources: Pathway Press and Stamps-Baxter Music. Southern Gospel aficionados will recognize Pathway Press as publisher of the classic “Red Back”Church Hymnal, used by thousands of churches across the South for over sixty years. Generations of gospel groups have dipped into the depths of the old “Red Back” hymnal for classic quartet and convention songs by such legendary songwriters as Albert Brumley, Vep Ellis, Luther Presley, Lee Roy Abernathy, and many others.

As for Stamps-Baxter Music, its classic “shaped-note” song books — with titles like Super Specials, Crystal Rays, Silver Tones, and Pearls of Paradise — have been used and cherished by Southern Gospel artists for over 75 years.

“I'm excited to be a part of this evening honoring the musical heritage that is so closely tied to gospel music,” said Harmony Honors host Jason Crabb. “The songs in the 'Red Back' hymnal and the Stamps-Baxter songbooks are the foundation for this music that is so loved. This is a well-deserved honor for both publishers and it's going to be a great night!”
Among the musical guests for this year's Harmony Honors will be some of the most beloved and popular names in Southern Gospel Music, including the LeFevre Quartet, the Perrys, the Tribute Quartet, Legacy Five, Three Bridges, the Nelons, Gerald Wolfe from Greater Vision, Karen Peck and New River, Jeff & Sheri Easter, the Bowling Family, Gold City, the Mark Trammell Quartet, the Whisnants, Stan Whitmire and the Mylon Hayes Family.

Also scheduled for a special guest appearance is former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, himself an accomplished musician and long-time fan of Southern Gospel Music.

TBN Vice President Matthew Crouch noted that Southern Gospel Music has been a regular part of TBN's history over the past 40-plus years. “We've welcomed many Southern Gospel greats over the years,” he said. “The rich harmonies and inspirational message of this sacred music have been a blessing to generations of TBN viewers. We're privileged once again to host the Harmony Honors.”

Admission to the March 25th live TBN taping of the Harmony Honors at Nashville's Trinity Music City is free to the public, with 1,500 seats available. Doors open at 6 p.m. (Central Time) and the program begins at 7 p.m.

Hoskins Family Landing Two Singing News Fan Award Nominations

Waynesville, Ohio (March 20,2014) The Hoskins Family is a name recognized in Southern Gospel music for some great hits in the past. As a result of coming off the road several years ago and having some real group changes the family has decided it was time to return to what they are called to do, but this time with a revised, updated version.

As a result, Singing News fans saw it appropriate to nominate the Hoskins Family as one of the New Mixed Groups.

Radio seems to like this new blend of the Hoskins Family as their first radio single since reorganizing as “Whenever I Hear His Name” stayed in the Top Ten on the Radio Charts for several months. It's no wonder that the fans are taking note of this great family group being on the Gospel Music scene again.

Featured singer for the group, Angie Hoskins Aldridge, was also nominated as Favorite Soprano. Angie stated “I do not consider myself as worthy of any awards, but I am extremely honored that Gospel Music fans would consider me one of their favorite Sopranos.”

About The Hoskins Family
God, who is the giver of all gifts and abilities, equips individuals with talent and places within them the desire to use that talent for him. Through prayer, trusting God and obedience to His will, those desires are fulfilled and the results are immeasurable. Abby, Angie, Reva, Rick and Ricky, collectively known as the Hoskins Family, are seeing those results as God takes their ministry to new heights every day.
The Hoskins Family is made up of Angie (Hoskins) Aldridge, Reva Hoskins, Abby Aldridge, Ricky Hoskins and Rick Smith.
The Hoskins Family’s first top 40 song, taken from the project of the same name, was a special one to their family. “Mission Of Love” was written by Angie (Hoskins) Aldridge for her grandfather, who was also her pastor. In fact Ricky, Reva and Angie’s ministry was solely committed to their home church until Reva’s father’s retirement from pastoral ministry. It was then that The Hoskins Family felt God called them to a different venture.
“Help Me Stand,” The Hoskins Family’s follow-up single to “Mission Of Love” proved to be their first top 20 hit, reassuring them that they were headed in the right direction. Within 1 1⁄2 years The Hoskins Family had their first top 5 hit with “Joyful Morning,” from their “Hope” project. This was followed by the top 10 hit “I Wouldn’t Trade One Minute Of It.”
“Safe Thus Far” just might be the definitive recording that all their others are compared to. The Daywind project contains songs from some of today’s premier writers and is definitely a “Must Have” album. The first release from this album proved to be their first #1 song. This album was nominated for six Dove Awards.

About Southern Sound

A brief overview is simply a thumbnail sketch of what Southern Sound is really all about. In a word, Southern Sound Quartet is classy. They are deeply rooted in traditional Southern Gospel, four-part close harmony and in the testimony that Christ is Lord. I was fortunate to hear the group recently at a large church near my home, and they were indeed breathtaking. I lost count of the standing ovations they received that evening from a packed church, quite accustomed to hearing the finest Southern Gospel has to offer. The concert I attended will stay with me for quite some time, but even now, I hunger for more. Southern Sound’s attitude, infectious enthusiasm, stage presence, and fine sense of Spirit-filled music, makes a concert by Southern Sound one to be cherished for a very long while.

About The Browders
From their beginning traveling together as a family in a Dodge Omni car, to a successful music ministry with national hits, The Browders of Hiltons, Virginia are one of the most exciting groups to step on stage in many years. This family group consists of Tommy Browder, his sons, Matthew and David, and Matthew’s wife, Sonya. They travel year round, keeping a full concert schedule as well as holding revivals across the country. One of their most captivating qualities is that The Browders play much of their music live with Tommy on acoustic lead, David on bass, Matthew on rhythm guitar and Sonya on piano. They also write most of their own music.

In recent years, they have been steadily expanding and improving their ministry for the glory of God. The were voted “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” in the prestigious 2013 AGM Awards. They have enjoyed Singing News #1 song charting success with original songs like “Praise You In This Valley,” “Message Of The Cross," and “Land Of No Goodbyes." . With the release of their highly-anticipated, “The Message” recording came a milestone—their first #1 radio singles. They are currently performing songs from that recording as well as their hits and most-requested songs. Their current new release 'Time Machine' already has a number one song on the AGM Charts in “He's Alive”.

Though things change throughout the years, their mission has remained the same—to bring hope to a lost and dying world and to encourage and challenge believers. They’re real and they’re anointed. We hope that in the near future you are able to attend or host a Browders’ concert to experience how God is working through this team.

Committed to faith and family roots, DOWN HOME – comprised of family members Mac & Sharon McEwyn along with their children AnnMarie and Michael - brings a powerful message of hope. The group has built their concert experience around the fact that hope brings strength. With just one listen to the music of DOWN HOME, listeners are encouraged and given strength through hope for another day!

“We absolutely love performing,” says Mac McEwyn, founder of the group. “There’s nothing like seeing the faces of an audience when they smile. You can see them experience the music. We want to “live the music.” If the song talks about making a difference, a difference is what we want to make. Each one of us can look back and see at least one individual who stood in the gap and made a difference in our lives. Our culture needs more individuals who are willing to stand on the rock of truth and deliver hope to the world. The world needs to see people of faith join together, encouraging and edifying one another, laughing together, crying together, walking through hard times together, and reaching out to those in need of the same. DOWN HOME concerts and events are focused on building faith, loving family and encouraging people.”

About Jim Sheldon
After serving many years as music minster, there was a void yet filled. In 1994, joined my first gospel quartet. Immediately, I knew singing gospel music was God's true calling for my life. He confirmed this with a paraphrase of Proverbs 3:6 - "In everything you do put God first, He will direct and crown your efforts with success."

My greatest inspiration came from Glenn Payne. The Cathedrals sang at my church in Virginia. He told me:"Vocalize daily and never sing out of your range. Remember, God gave you the ability and desire. Honor Him with a servant's heart." Now God says it's time to tell my story of how God has brought me out from a long 'wilderness time' of sin, shame and disgrace to where I am today.

Singer's Stolen Purse Returned After 8 Years

Hiltons, VA (November 28, 2014) William Cowper in the 19th century is credited for saying, "God moves in a mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.” If it was true back then, it is certainly true for the Browders today.

It was around eight years ago in Wildwood, GA and Sonya and Matthew had recently been married. As a matter of fact, Sonya hadn't even changed her drivers license changed yet. Sonya Browder states it best in her own words. “Approximately 8 years ago, not long after Matthew & I were married, The Browders sang at a church in Wildwood, GA. As I walked in to the church just before the concert started, I discreetly put my purse in a box under our merchandise table which was set on the church porch. That probably wasn't the best choice, but it was something I had done many times before and really didn't think anything of it.

After service, I went out to the table and reached for my purse to find it was gone. I looked everywhere to no avail. We decided that probably some curious neighborhood teenagers had probably snatched it during service. I didn't have a lot of money in it, but most of the gift cards that had been given to us as a wedding gift were in my wallet. I was devastated, but after the initial shock, we decided to chalk it up as a loss and trust that God would provide for the things we needed as a young married couple.

Fast forward 8 years to Sunday, February 23, and we were back at the same church in Wildwood, GA. I really had forgotten completely about my purse being stolen there. As I sat in the front row waiting for the service to begin, the pastor's wife sat next to me with something folded into a paper towel. She peeled back the corner to reveal my gift cards! They had been bulldozing in the back of the church and dug up a nearly disintegrated purse. Instead of discarding it, they opened the wallet, cleaned up the contents and realized they were mine. Most of the cards don't have an expiration date and are still usable. It was an amazing surprise and a great reminder that God can restore what the devil has stolen from you, regardless of time passed or circumstances.”
In other news for the Browders, Matthew Browder stated “We are being endorsed by WorxAudio Technologies, Inc. for our sound equipment. We are blessed beyond measure and want to thank Mike Templeton of Templeton Sounds for putting us in contact with them.”

Retro SGM Radio: Reality Check - Asking the Hardest Question

Reality Check for April 2008
By Lorraine Walker

A short time ago a lady spoke in our church about how the Lord had blessed her and her family. She spoke of some challenges they had faced with her son who had a birth defect. She related how the trials had been difficult but seemed like small hills which gradually led them to one huge mountain. This situation was so hard that she found herself asking all the “why” questions. Then it struck her that when something good happened, she rarely asked why. So if she took the good things as a part of life, why was she questioning the difficult circumstances?

I don’t believe that God is afraid of any of our hard questions. He created us to be inquisitive and to reason. We can ask Him anything and like a good Father, He will answer. However, sometimes our penchant for asking why keeps us from actually seeing or hearing His answers.

There is one particular situation in my life that seems to be a continual source of challenge. Many nights I have lain awake, asking the Lord, “Why?” I didn’t realize that this was my way of dwelling on the negative areas of the situation instead of seeing anything good.

We were reading the story of Ruth and Naomi during devotions one morning at work when God revealed this truth to my heart. Naomi and Ruth had come to a crossroad and Naomi suggested that Ruth return to her homeland. Ruth’s husband had died and she had nothing. They had grieved for their loss and it was now time to move on. However, Ruth made a decision that would change her life.

Instead of falling to the ground, wailing about the situation and asking God why, she realized what a treasure she had been given in her mother-in-law Naomi. She and Naomi traveled together to Bethlehem, where Ruth eventually met and married Boaz, and was blessed to have Jesus Christ within her line of descendents. Ruth had chosen to leave the ‘whys’ with the past and look instead at what God had given to her in the present. This enabled her to move on and trust God with her future.

The next time I find myself asking God “why”, I hope I remember to ask myself why I’m asking “Why?”. Is it easier to dwell on the negative and want the answers to all our questions because we say we want closure? God isn’t afraid of our questions, but neither does He want us to dwell in the past. We are to leave that behind and face the future, knowing that His blessings in our lives right now are proof that He will continue to be with us whatever we face. “Where Thou goest, I will go!”

Retro SGM Radio: Firm Foundation: Putting Jesus “Out There”

SGM Radio Feature for July 2010
By Lorraine Walker

Youthful energy, tight harmony, engaging lyrics, progressive vocals and multiple award nominations; Firm Foundation is as cool as they come in new Southern Gospel. This young group has been on the road for eight years but many are hearing them for the first time with the release of “Already On My Knees” and wondering why Firm Foundation isn’t already a mainstay on the music charts. The Kentucky-based quartet is burning up the roads and radio playlists as their hot sound is sparking interest across the country.

Steve Bridgmon, lead singer and manager of Firm Foundation, talks about the humble beginnings of this fast-rising quartet. “Firm Foundation sang in front of a crowd for the first time in 2002 at my home church, Red Hill Baptist in Utica, Kentucky, which is a small, backwoods country church that we still sing at to this day. Although some of our venues have grown and so has our audience sizes, we will never forget about the ones who let us come and minister in the beginning. Those churches are the heart of who we are. It's been a long road from my 3rd grade solo of "Away In A Manger",which is the first time I ever sang in front of a crowd!”

Bridgmon is joined by the two Josh’s, Josh Brown on tenor and Josh Teasley singing baritone, along with Anthony Davis singing bass. “Our ages are from 20 to 30-something years old,” says Steve. “Three of the guys are all under the age of 27. We came together through the power of the internet. Of course God had a plan for Firm Foundation and brought us together. We're all different and I think it would be boring if we were all just alike.”Each of the men also have jobs that work in sync with their touring schedule and are involved in their local churches when possible.

One listen to the current single and it’s easy to hear the talent embodied by these four unique gentlemen. What is difficult to understand, perhaps, is why they’ve stayed in an industry that may not offer as many advantages as other fields of Christian music. “We chose to go into the southern gospel genre because anything else is just noise!” Bridgmon laughs. “But seriously, if we can't sing about our Lord Jesus Christ, we may as well shut the bus off and go home. Southern Gospel lyrics are biblical and not watered down like many other styles of music. SG isn't scared to put Jesus out there and tell everyone how we feel about Him.”

Firm Foundation puts their faith ‘out there’ with every song and worked hard to ensure that their latest recording did the same. "’Footsteps of Life’ is our newest recording,” says Bridgmon. “Donna Beauvais did an absolutely amazing job as producer. She brought so much out of us. Two of the guys in the group had no studio experience at all. We prayed over every song for weeks before we sang them in the studio.”

“Everyone at Sunset Boulevard Studios was amazing,” Bridgmon continues. “We got to work with some of the very best in Nashville. The piano player on the album is on tour with Rascal Flatts right now. All the players on the album have worked with some huge names in country and contemporary Christian, as well as Southern Gospel. Donna Beauvais has an amazing ear and she definitely knows chords!”

The songs on “Footsteps Of Life” were carefully chosen, says Bridgmon. “It took me about a year to pick out all the songs. The songwriters are the heart of this album. I'm not sure I have a favorite song. I love the track ‘Already On My Knees’ because it describes my journey over the past few years. No matter how the devil comes at you, he can't knock you down if you're already on your knees.”

Firm Foundation has received commendations from others in the industry that they have posted on their website at http://www.firmfoundationqt.com/. Dusty Wells of Word Music Group is quoted as saying, “Firm Foundation's new recording … is pure quartet at its best and they have chosen songs that reflect the hope and peace that Jesus offers to all of us on this journey.”

Ed Crawford of the Mystery Men is also a fan of the quartet. When SGM Radio asked him who he thought had great potential for going far in Southern Gospel, his response was Firm Foundation, a group they had worked with recently. Ed says the quartet has “…a great sound and is a good bunch of young guys.”

Firm Foundation is now receiving accolades from across the industry, including three Diamond Award Nominations for Sunrise Group of the Year, Artist Website and Album of the year. It has taken awhile for Southern Gospel to recognize their existence, says Bridgmon. “Only recently, probably during the past year or so, has the Southern Gospel audience taken notice. Our audience until then, and even now, has been the unchurched. What a great responsibility that is, to be able to sing to a group of people who don't hear about Christ every week!”

Spreading the Good News with those who don’t know Jesus, and their new music with an audience who hasn’t heard the group is a challenge. Bridgmon talks about the internet effect in marketing Firm Foundation. “Facebook has really helped with people keeping up with our dates and happenings. The latest album sales have been from a much younger audience, especially with our more progressive sound. iTunes sales have helped with getting our music in the hands of young people.” The group’s younger audience is enjoying their brand of Southern Gospel and this is a positive reflection on the industry as a whole.

“One of the greatest attributes of Southern Gospel Music is that it's the only genre of music where artists get to interact personally with the fans,” says Bridgmon. “Nowhere else will you ever see an artist going to the product table or praying with someone in the audience. It's very unique and we're proud to be part of it.” Fans of all ages appreciate this aspect of Southern Gospel.

Firm Foundation’s songs have the ability to reach across age barriers and audience preferences. Interestingly, Bridgmon says that an old hymn performed by the group is one of the most well received. “The song that gets the most reaction from our audience has to be our acapella version of ‘How Great Thou Art’. I think it touches them because everyone has a story when it comes to this song. From your grandmother singing it while she's cooking on Sunday morning to walking down the aisle when you accepted Christ. The song is a staple in church music history.”

Aside from the onstage performance, there is a lot of hard work involved in presenting the music of Firm Foundation. Steve Bridgmon talks about the responsibility of managing the ministry of the quartet. “I'm thankful for the knowledge God has given me to make good decisions. I believe this is the core of accepting the responsibility of what God has called us to do in ministry. I'm also thankful to have 3 guys on the platform with me every week that I care about as deeply as brothers.”

New artists on the road today have many legends to look up to, artists who have made their mark in the industry. “Personally, my favorite singer in southern gospel music, hands down, is Gerald Wolfe,” says Bridgmon. “He sings so correctly and I really respect that. That's the way I learned how to sing. I never tire of listening to him. The sincerity in his voice is infectious. Every time I hear him sing, I am ready to hit the road again!” However, Bridgmon doesn’t see the group following in another artist’s footsteps. “We've pretty much blazed our own path in gospel music. I think that it is very important not to emulate someone else's career. God's way is the only way.”

Bridgmon says that although they have been blazing their own unique trail, the group has a support system to guide them. “My family has played a huge role in the ministry of Firm Foundation. At our CD release party this past February, for the first time in the history of the group, all four of us had our dads in attendance. None of us are married, which frees us up to travel as we please, but our immediate family is in prayer for us at all times.”

Recognizing the need for prayer and accountability, Bridgmon also has someone to go to for spiritual guidance. “Someone who has been a spiritual mentor to me is my pastor when I was in college, Scott Ford. He's a great Man of God who has been very true to his church and is respected by so many. I long to have the longevity that he's had in ministry. I've always been able to go to him at anytime, for anything and I appreciate that.”

“My greatest desire for the ministry of Firm Foundation is for people to see us as sincere and real,” continues Bridgmon. “We strive for God's guidance and reverence. If we stop being a warrior for God, we should stop doing this.”

Firm Foundation certainly has roots in the foundation of Jesus Christ and men like Steve Bridgmen and his quartet are destined to do great things for their Lord. It is heartening and encouraging to hear the heart’s cry of new artists who strive to do the will of God. Bridgmon expresses the conviction of the group with these words: “Every day, and I mean every day, I think about the blessings that He's brought down on us just this past year. Every time I hear our song on the radio I seriously get tears in my eyes. Don't take me wrong there, it’s not because we're getting played, but the huge responsibility He's given us and chosen us to do. That's so awesome to me. We will never take advantage of the doors He's opened for us or the responsibility of spreading His Word.”

She will close the day with an Ashley by Design fashion show and party at Gigi’s Playhouse in New York City. The event has been named “Got Dreams?” and takes place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The "Got Dreams?" event is a joint effort between two organizations that work to promote the awareness of those with Down syndrome, The Ashley Deramus Foundation and GiGi’s Playhouse. Ashley believes that those with Down syndrome should say what they can do instead of what they can’t.

The event will begin with all children and adults who attend enjoying music, dancing, and refreshments. Southern Gospel Music Executive, Norman Holland, Passes Away

Hendersonville, TN (March 11, 2014) - Beloved Southern Gospel music executive Norman Holland passed away on Monday, March 10th, 2014, due to heart failure.

Norman began his Gospel music career in radio promotions at the Benson Company in 1980, and through the years became a catalyst in the careers of such legendary artists as the Cathedral Quartet, the Speer Family, the Kingsmen Quartet, J.D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet, Gold City, Jeff and Sheri Easter, and Greater Vision. Later, Holland headed the A&R department for Chapel Records (now Spring Hill) where he worked on the Gaither Homecoming Series and helped launch the careers of Brian Free and Assurance and the Martins.

For the past 16 years, Holland served artists as Vice President of A&R at Daywind Records where he built one of the top labels in the genre by guiding the careers of Greater Vision, the Perrys, Legacy Five, the Booth Brothers, Brian Free and Assurance, the Nelons, Karen Peck and New River, the Mark Trammell Quartet, Mark Lowry, Sisters, Barbara Fairchild, and many more. In recognition of his tremendous impact on Southern Gospel music during his career, Holland received a lifetime achievement award from the Southern Gospel Music Guild in 2012.

Greater than all of his accomplishments in a 35-year career, Holland will be best remembered as a friend to artists. “There may never be another who cares for artists like Norman cared,” shared Ed Leonard, President of Daywind Records. “He was loved by all. This is a heartbreaking loss for all of us who loved Norman, but a tremendous gain for heaven above.” Added Dottie Leonard-Miller, founder and CEO of Daywind, “the wonderful memories of working and sharing life with Norman for 16 years are precious. I will cherish them as I cherished him.”

Speaking on behalf of the many artists Norman Holland touched with his grace, compassion, and love, Gerald Wolfe of Greater Vision said, “Norman and I had a great working relationship for 27 years, but more importantly, he was one of my closest friends. His laughter was contagious, and his larger-than-life, magnetic personality always lit up any room he was in. Gospel Music has lost one of its most innovative and influential behind-the-scenes personalities. I have lost a friend. But not for long. I know where he is.”

Funeral services for Norman will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15th, 2014, with visitation taking place from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. that day. The funeral and visitation will take place at Sorrell’s Funeral Home, 2744 W Magnolia Ave, Geneva, Alabama, 36340, Phone:(334) 684-9999. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Norman Holland Memorial Fund c/o Norman’s sister, Edith Brown, 1209 Glenwood Street, Dothan, Alabama, 36301. The balance of the fund after funeral expenses will be donated to the Gospel Music Trust Fund.

There will be a memorial service in honor of Norman held in Nashville within the next month.
