GORDON MOTE NOMINATED FOR GMA DOVE AWARD

Nashville, TN - Multi-award winning singer, musician Gordon Mote added another nomination to his long list of accolades last week when the 45th Annual GMA Dove Award nominations were announced on August 13 during a press conference at Lipscomb University. Mote’s
All Things Newrecording was among the Top Five nominations for Country Album of the Year by members of the Gospel Music Association.

All Things New was produced by Mote and long-time friend and multi-award winning producer Frank Rogers, as well as multi-Dove Award winners Wayne Haun and Russell Mauldin. The recording features guest appearances by several of mainstream country and Gospel music’s most popular recording artists, including The Gaither Vocal Band, Trace Adkins, Sheryl Crow, Scotty McCreery, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner and Matthew West.

“I am so excited about this nomination from the Gospel Music Association,” Mote stated. “So many brilliant musicians and singers contributed to this recording, and the completed work would not be what it is without those incredibly talented people, whom I am honored to call friends. This recording was a true labor of love, and it is a thrill to be recognized for the hard work and efforts that went to this project.”
One of those talented people who served as principal producer is acclaimed country music producer Frank Rogers, who has garnered five Academy of Country Music Awards and 13 CMA nominations. “Gordon covers a lot of musical ground on this recording: inspirational, country and southern styles,” Rogers commented. “The project holds together incredibly well because they are all facets of the same gem. Gordon is simply a brilliant talent with a great heart.”

The 45th Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held Tuesday, October 7 at Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Gold City Releases Highly Anticipated Hymn Treasury

Hymn Revival Debuts Early Fall

Franklin, TN- June 25, 2014 - New Haven Records is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Hymn Revival, Gold City’s first new hymn project since their immensely popular 1999 release, “Amazing Grace: A Hymn Collection.”

Hymn Revival follows Somebody’s Coming, Gold City’s best-selling and highest charting album in years; and contains beloved hymns along with two new classics, “In Christ Alone” and “The Power of the Cross,” which are poised to pass the test of time. The record also contains older, more traditional hymns such as “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and “I Need Thee Every Hour.”

Co-produced by label-mate and Academy of Country Music Award-winning musician Gordon Mote, Hymn Revival is exactly that: a treasury of classic and current hymns refreshed and re-envisioned by the matchless voices of America’s premiere quartet, Gold City.

Mote reflects, “I’m from Gadsden, Alabama, Gold City’s home town. I grew up admiring them and now I have the incredible honor of co-producing them. You can really feel their energy and personality coming through as they sing these classic songs of the church.”

“I am excited about this project because many of the hymns that I grew up singing have all but disappeared,” says Danny Riley, Gold City’s lead singer. “I love a lot of the new songs, but the old songs of the church have ministered to me through the years and have a special place in my heart. We have also included some modern hymns that I know will become standards in the church.”

Ken Harding, President of New Haven Records concludes, “Matching these timeless hymns with the award-winning vocals of Gold City created an album for the ages. We can’t wait for the world to hear these hymns in a fresh, revived way.”

Hymn Revival releases on New Haven Records early this fall and will be available wherever great gospel music is sold and on iTunes.

I love this beach town because it is so fitting for a family weekend, and so will the program we put together. This fantastic beach vacation spot, along with the great Gospel music means fun for the entire family!”The program being put together for IMC’s exceptional three-day event will feature daily and nightly concerts during five session with many of Southern Gospel Music’s most popular names performing, including The Martins, Gordon Mote, Greater Vision, The Collingsworth Family, The Hoppers, Ivan Parker, Guy Penrod, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound and many more.“We’ve been singing all around the Tidewater area for nearly 50 years,” states Dean Hopper, one of the event organizers who is also a member of The Hoppers, who will be among the artists featured at the event. “As a kid, I even remember the privilege of singing at the Hampton Roads Coliseum. After reminiscing on wonderful memories and realizing the lack of Gospel’s recent cultivation in the area, we wanted to bring our genre back in a BIG way! The music, mixed with the vacation opportunities for concert-goers, seemed like a no-brainer. Virginia Beach is gorgeous and serene, so why not come there?” In addition to the exciting music that will be taking the stage throughout the Festival, noted speakers will be included during the weekend, including popular comedian Dennis Swanberg and Grant Ethridge, Senior Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton, VA, along with the Liberty Baptist Church Choir.

Award-Winning Musician and Singer Gordon Mote Releases Album All Things New on New Haven Records

Nashville, TN (September 19, 2013) —- One of the most beloved and respected musicians/singers in the music industry, Gordon Mote, has released his latest project All Things New. The album was co-produced by Frank Rogers (Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker), and Dove-Award winning producers, Wayne Haun and Russell Mauldin. The project features vocal collaborations with such major artists as the Gaither Vocal Band, Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, Matthew West, and Scotty McCreery. This is the second album by Mote for his new label, New Haven Records, and the project will be distributed to the faith-based market through Provident-Integrity Distribution.
“I wanted this project to encourage others to let the Lord use the rough parts of their lives for His glory just like He has in mine,” says Mote. “Being born blind, God has given me so many blessings in spite of the setbacks I have had in my life. If we’ll give God the chance to make all things new, He will.”
The powerful ballad, “Faith Like That,” is the first single being serviced to Christian radio, and the heartfelt lyrics were co-written by award-winning songwriters Don Sampson (“Waitin’ On A Woman”) and Jim Brown (“Five O’Clock Somewhere”). A noted songwriter himself, Mote co-wrote four songs on the new album including, “All Things New,” “Sound A Dream Makes,” “For You,” and the autobiographical “Broken Open.” The latter song describes Mote’s personal journey of clinging to his faith to overcome a broken heart and how God can lift us up even during our darkest hours.
“I had a wonderful childhood, but grew somewhat lonely as a teenager as my friends were getting driver’s licenses and leaving me behind,” explains Mote. “Whether you’re blind or not, all of us experience insecurities. I learned that my brokenness made me more open to God’s love as well as more sensitive to the brokenness in other’s lives.”
In spite of what society calls a handicap, Mote has miraculously overcome multiple obstacles with his blindness that include; playing piano at 3-years-old without any professional training, being the first blind student in the country to be accepted into the public school system, graduating high school with honors, receiving a full scholarship to Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, and graduating from Belmont University in Nashville, TN with Cum Laude honors and a music degree.
Two days after graduation, Mote began touring with Country artist Lee Greenwood’s band, which led to the talented musician touring and recording with such major superstars as Trisha Yearwood, Brad Paisley, Bob Seger, Alan Jackson, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Gaither Vocal Band, and Lionel Richie.
Mote’s keyboard skills led him to being honored twice by the Academy of Country Music for Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year Awards, as well as two Music Row Magazine Instrumentalist of the Year Awards for playing on the most Top Ten albums. Mote has released nine albums as an independent artist, with If You Could Hear What I See earning Mote his first Dove nomination in 2004. Mote remains an active touring act by performing over 150 dates a year.

GORDON MOTE, RSI RECORDING ARTIST, FEATURED IN COUNTRY WEEKLY

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 14, 2012) – RSI recording artist, Gordon Mote, is featured in Country Weekly magazine’s “The Pro File” section in the February 20, 2012 issue on newsstands now.

Country Weekly journalist Jessica Nicholson's recent interview covered Gordon's life of music including his work as one of Nashville's most in-demand studio session players. In the article, Gordon recalls memories of working with Lee Greenwood (his first job in the music business), Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Lionel Ritchie, Rascal Flatts and more.

Totally blind from birth, Gordon Mote began playing piano as a young three-year-old on Thanksgiving day when he shocked his parents by playing “Jesus Loves Me” on the piano. Named the 2009 and 2011 Keyboard/Piano Player of the Year by the Academy of Country Music after seven consecutive nominations, and a Gospel Music Association Dove award winner, Gordon has met and exceeded some of his wildest dreams. He has quickly joined the ranks of gospel music’s most entertaining stage personalities. A brilliant performer, insightful songwriter and prodigious musician, Gordon’s physical blindness somehow attunes his other senses more keenly and fuels his vision for bringing honor to Christ through his music.

His latest release Songs I Grew Up Singing is in stores now and available online at iTunes, Amazon and more.

Gordon is actively touring as a solo artist along with appearing on the Gaither Homecoming tours. Be sure to check out Gordon’s schedule at www.GordonMote.com.
