Ivan Parker: Threads Of Mercy

It takes a time-tested and successful artist to craft an album that can take you on a journey through the fabric of life. Ivan Parker's Threads of Mercy describes God weaving our thread through highs and lows, good times and bad times, with one thing always standing true: Mercy brings us through to the glory of God.

From the kicking first radio single “‘Til The Shackles Fall Off” and “On The Solid Rock I Stand”, to the thought provoking “Silent Prayer” and “God’s In The Middle Of It,” you are sewn into a storyline of God’s love and mercy.

Ivan Parker has a style that is unmistakable from the first song to the last. When the intro starts, whether it’s uptempo or a ballad, you know it’s an Ivan Parker song. Ivan hit his vocal sweet spot on this new record. His voice matches perfectly with the songs on this CD with a warmth that feels good as you listen.

Ivan Parker has won thirty Singing News Fan Awards, including eleven Male Vocalist awards. Threads of Mercy will no doubt take him on to many more accolades in the future!

Threads of Mercy will come out on January 20, 2015. Preview and pre-order today at iTunes or Amazon.

IMC Concerts Announces First Virginia Beach Gospel Music Festival Oct 2014

IMC Concerts has announced the very first Virginia Beach Gospel Music Festival. “We are thrilled to bring our brand music event to the East Coast, and in particular to the beautiful coastal city of Virginia Beach,” states Landon Beene, President of IMC Concerts. “Gospel music, paired with a wonderful vacation destination such as Virginia Beach, offers fans a GREAT excuse to pack up the car and head to the beach and enjoy a great weekend of Gospel music. I love this beach town because it is so fitting for a family weekend, and so will the program we put together. This fantastic beach vacation spot, along with the great Gospel music means fun for the entire family!”The program being put together for IMC’s exceptional three-day event will feature daily and nightly concerts during five session with many of Southern Gospel Music’s most popular names performing, including The Martins, Gordon Mote, Greater Vision, The Collingsworth Family, The Hoppers, Ivan Parker, Guy Penrod, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound and many more.“We’ve been singing all around the Tidewater area for nearly 50 years,” states Dean Hopper, one of the event organizers who is also a member of The Hoppers, who will be among the artists featured at the event. “As a kid, I even remember the privilege of singing at the Hampton Roads Coliseum. After reminiscing on wonderful memories and realizing the lack of Gospel’s recent cultivation in the area, we wanted to bring our genre back in a BIG way! The music, mixed with the vacation opportunities for concert-goers, seemed like a no-brainer. Virginia Beach is gorgeous and serene, so why not come there?” In addition to the exciting music that will be taking the stage throughout the Festival, noted speakers will be included during the weekend, including popular comedian Dennis Swanberg and Grant Ethridge, Senior Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton, VA, along with the Liberty Baptist Church Choir.

This three-day, five-session Festival will feature a 7pm concert on Thursday evening, as well as Friday and Saturday sessions at 10am and 7pm. Festival package ticket prices are inclusive for all six sessions. Tickets may also be purchased for individual sessions. A complete schedule of events is available at www.imcconcerts.com and www.VirginiaBeachGospelMusicFest.com . The Virginia Beach Gospel Music Festival promises to be one to remember. Frosts to write and perform for new Christian theater production

PIGEON FORGE, TN — Singer / songwriter Michael Jason Frost, along with his wife Jen, will soon be joining a new Christian-based musical production in Pigeon Forge, TN. Additional details about the show, the location, and more will be announced very soon.
In addition to performing in the new production, The Frosts will also serve as writers. Michael has written several songs for the show and Jen has written much of the script.
Michael and Jen Frost first met while working in Christian theater a few years ago. Both were performers in The Miracle, a large-scale musical production about the life of Christ that ran for six seasons. There, Michael played various roles from John the Baptist and Judas, to the leading role of Jesus. Jen also filled various roles, from Mother Mary to Martha.
“Jen and I are overjoyed to have the opportunity to work together once again in Christian-based theater,” Michael said.
Following the closing of The Miracle, Michael toured and recorded with Dove-Award nominated trio, HisSong. He will exit the group to accept the new theater position this fall.
Michael is best known in the southern gospel world for his songwriting credits, including “That’s God” and “Three Words, Three Nails, Three Days.” Currently, Michael’s songs can be found on the latest projects by The McKameys, Ivan Parker, HisSong, and more.
Michael and Jen are also known as vocalists in “The Michael Frost Trio.” The trio, including singer Adam Elrod, recently made an impact at the National Quartet Convention (NQC) this year after being invited to perform an upcoming radio release, “Author and Finisher,” on the main stage.
In addition to performing in the theater, Michael and Jen will continue their music ministry in churches and concert settings, presenting their blend of original songs and personal testimonies. The Frosts are represented by The Adoration Agency (www.adorationagency.com) and record for Chapel Valley Studios.
The Frosts have a daughter, Jael Esther, age 2. More information about The Frosts is online at www.michaeljasonfrost.com

Ivan Parker Releases New CD "Joyride"

Notes on Joyride from Crossroads Music and Ivan Parker:

From the instant you hit the on ramp at the title track “Joyride” till you exit at “Author and Finisher,” this trip down I-10 (Ivan Parker, 10 songs) will have your heart dancing to the rhythms and the rhymes that are intersected throughout a life lived for Christ.

Every song is a picture perfect snapshot of truth and a thirst quencher for the world-weary soul, in each season and along every stretch of life’s road.

“Joyride” talks about the lighter times, “Mary’s Wish,” the heart-heavy moments of anguish. “Who I Am Ain’t Who I Was” is a mellow proclamation of the victory we have in Jesus, while “Temporary Goodbye” reminds us the bitter cup of sorrow dipped from death’s dark well is only for a moment.

A joyride is something we do for fun, every once in a long while. The hectic schedules of our lives do not seem to give us that luxury much anymore. When this theme started coming together, I thought, “Why not put on a pair of comfortable jeans, a leather jacket, and some good Jesus riding music and hit the road?”
So for the next few minutes, take a break from the twists and turns of life and take a look at them from the rear-view mirror. Oh, and please do not forget your sunglasses, ‘cause the Son is bright where we will be riding! - Ivan
