NEW HAVEN RECORDS RELEASES FIRST SINGLE FROM GOLD CITY’S HYMN REVIVAL

Group Member’s Health Scare Prompts Change of Radio Single

Franklin, TN (October 1, 2014) -- New Haven Records has released “Part The Waters/I Need Thee Every Hour” as the first single from Gold City's new album, Hymn Revival. A different single had originally been chosen, but circumstances intervened to make this selection more appropriate.

Prior to the release of the new project, founder and bass singer Tim Riley suffered a mild stroke while touring. After a brief stay in the hospital, Riley was released early from rehab in Gadsden, AL.

“During Tim's recovery, we listened to the album and 'Part the Waters/I Need Thee Every Hour' stood out as the most poignant song," states label president Ken Harding. He continues, “It features Tim on the 'Part the Waters' section of the song; because of his journey of recovery, it became clear to us that this should be the first single.”

“Recording Hymn Revival prepared us for this situation. The hymns that we recorded have been an inspiration to me all of my life. This song in particular has been a huge encouragement to our family during this time,” states Danny Riley, Tim's son and the group's lead singer.

“This song combines timeless lyrics and the voices of a legendary group. It delivers an old message in a fresh and inspiring way,” states radio promoter Jan Puryear. She continues, “Tim Riley, longtime bass singer, gives a moving performance in 'Part the Waters,' a song that has special meaning for him. 'Part the Waters/I Need Thee Every Hour' is another hit song in a long line of great singles from Gold City.”

Hymn Revival, co-produced by Gold City’s Danny Riley and multiple Academy of Country Music award-winning artist and musician, Gordon Mote, combines both a musical freshness and lyrical timelessness that appeals to today’s broad gospel and inspirational fan-base.

Tim Riley comments, “'I Need Thee Every Hour' is prayer that should be a part of our everyday lives. I have always loved that great old hymn. I had never heard 'Part the Waters' before we recorded it, so I wasn't sure how this would work. But when I sang it in the studio I knew immediately how this was going to bless people, because it really touched me. When I had the mild stroke, this song started flooding my mind and has really ministered to me.”

Hymn Revival is available at LifeWay Christian Bookstores, Family Christian Bookstores, Amazon, iTunes and wherever great gospel music is sold.

Gold City’s ‘Hymn Revival’ Releases August 19

Franklin, TN (August 14, 2014) New Haven Records recently announced the debut of Southern Gospel legend Gold City’s new hymn project, Hymn Revival, their first hymn recording since 1999. The new project includes such inspirational classics as “In Christ Alone” and “The Power of the Cross” in addition to such traditional hymns as “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and “I Need Thee Every Hour.”

Hymn Revival, co-produced by Gold City’s Danny Riley and multiple Academy of Country Music award-winning artist and musician, Gordon Mote, combines both a musical freshness and lyrical timelessness that appeals to today’s broad gospel and inspirational fan-base.

News of the record’s release was dampened by the late-breaking health issues of Gold City’s co-founder and award-winning bass singer, Tim Riley, who was sidelined by a mild stroke he experienced in Lawrenceburg, TN in late July. Danny Riley comments, “Dad is in good hands and receiving great care. In fact, he is going home on Thursday, August 14 and we are hoping for a full recovery. In the meantime, these great hymns have brought us comfort and confidence—as they have for believers down through the centuries.”

Ken Harding, New Haven’s president, concurs, “Gold City is one of Southern Gospel’s most beloved groups and Tim Riley has been its foundation—both musically and otherwise—for more than three decades. We are honored to call them “family.” Our prayers and wishes go out to Tim, his family and the whole group as he continues to recover.”

Hymn Revival is available for pre-sale on iTunes now and releases August 19 in Family Christian Stores, Lifeway Christian Stores, Amazon, iTunes, and wherever great gospel music is sold.

Chuck Wagon Gang Joins New Haven Records Roster

Legendary Group to Release New CD and Documentary DVD in October

The Chuck Wagon Gang @ New Haven Records
Franklin, Tenn- July 21, 2014 - New Haven Records, home to such award-winning gospel artists as Gold City, Gordon Mote and Chicago Mass Choir, is proud to announce the signing of the legendary Chuck Wagon Gang.
New Haven Records president Ken Harding states, “The Chuck Wagon Gang holds the distinction of being the oldest mixed gospel recording group still performing with ties to its original founder. After 8 decades and 40 million in record sales, we couldn’t be more excited about their past, present and future.”

Meeting In Heaven: The Chuck Wagon Gang Sings the Songs of Marty Stuart is a brand new recording of twelve gospel songs written and produced by Marty Stuart in the spirit of “Dad” Carter who instructed them to “Sing the old songs, and sing them the way I taught you."

Accompanying the CD release will be America’s Gospel Singers, The Legacy Lives On, a full-length DVD documentary shot by world-renowned photographer Jack Spencer which chronicles the 75-year history of the Chuck Wagon Gang through rare family photographs, poignant personal stories, old recordings and new live performances. In addition to Marty Stuart and the Chuck Wagon Gang, the DVD features special appearances by Connie Smith, Merle Haggard, Eddie Stubbs, and the Oak Ridge Boys.
“The original group, which was started in 1936, could never have imagined their efforts would be so far reaching,” Shaye Smith, alto and owner of Chuck Wagon Gang reflects. “The journey down this current path is completed with New Haven Records. I have so much confidence in Ken and his staff at New Haven.  Our upcoming projects could not have found a better home. So here we are, ready to embark on yet another path that will further perpetuate this heritage.”

About Chuck Wagon Gang:
In 1935, "Dad" Carter and his family, migrant cotton farmers, found themselves in Texas without money. Providentially, they landed a job singing on KFYO Radio in Lubbock as the Carter Quartet. They changed their name to the Chuck Wagon Gang and a phenomenon was born. After 8 decades and 40 million in record sales, their music lives on through great-granddaughter of Anna Carter, Shaye Smith. For additional information, go to www.thechuckwagongang.net.

Gold City Releases Highly Anticipated Hymn Treasury

Hymn Revival Debuts Early Fall

Franklin, TN- June 25, 2014 - New Haven Records is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Hymn Revival, Gold City’s first new hymn project since their immensely popular 1999 release, “Amazing Grace: A Hymn Collection.”

Hymn Revival follows Somebody’s Coming, Gold City’s best-selling and highest charting album in years; and contains beloved hymns along with two new classics, “In Christ Alone” and “The Power of the Cross,” which are poised to pass the test of time. The record also contains older, more traditional hymns such as “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and “I Need Thee Every Hour.”

Co-produced by label-mate and Academy of Country Music Award-winning musician Gordon Mote, Hymn Revival is exactly that: a treasury of classic and current hymns refreshed and re-envisioned by the matchless voices of America’s premiere quartet, Gold City.

Mote reflects, “I’m from Gadsden, Alabama, Gold City’s home town. I grew up admiring them and now I have the incredible honor of co-producing them. You can really feel their energy and personality coming through as they sing these classic songs of the church.”

“I am excited about this project because many of the hymns that I grew up singing have all but disappeared,” says Danny Riley, Gold City’s lead singer. “I love a lot of the new songs, but the old songs of the church have ministered to me through the years and have a special place in my heart. We have also included some modern hymns that I know will become standards in the church.”

Ken Harding, President of New Haven Records concludes, “Matching these timeless hymns with the award-winning vocals of Gold City created an album for the ages. We can’t wait for the world to hear these hymns in a fresh, revived way.”

Hymn Revival releases on New Haven Records early this fall and will be available wherever great gospel music is sold and on iTunes.

Award-Winning Musician and Singer Gordon Mote Releases Album All Things New on New Haven Records

Nashville, TN (September 19, 2013) —- One of the most beloved and respected musicians/singers in the music industry, Gordon Mote, has released his latest project All Things New. The album was co-produced by Frank Rogers (Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker), and Dove-Award winning producers, Wayne Haun and Russell Mauldin. The project features vocal collaborations with such major artists as the Gaither Vocal Band, Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, Matthew West, and Scotty McCreery. This is the second album by Mote for his new label, New Haven Records, and the project will be distributed to the faith-based market through Provident-Integrity Distribution.
“I wanted this project to encourage others to let the Lord use the rough parts of their lives for His glory just like He has in mine,” says Mote. “Being born blind, God has given me so many blessings in spite of the setbacks I have had in my life. If we’ll give God the chance to make all things new, He will.”
The powerful ballad, “Faith Like That,” is the first single being serviced to Christian radio, and the heartfelt lyrics were co-written by award-winning songwriters Don Sampson (“Waitin’ On A Woman”) and Jim Brown (“Five O’Clock Somewhere”). A noted songwriter himself, Mote co-wrote four songs on the new album including, “All Things New,” “Sound A Dream Makes,” “For You,” and the autobiographical “Broken Open.” The latter song describes Mote’s personal journey of clinging to his faith to overcome a broken heart and how God can lift us up even during our darkest hours.
“I had a wonderful childhood, but grew somewhat lonely as a teenager as my friends were getting driver’s licenses and leaving me behind,” explains Mote. “Whether you’re blind or not, all of us experience insecurities. I learned that my brokenness made me more open to God’s love as well as more sensitive to the brokenness in other’s lives.”
In spite of what society calls a handicap, Mote has miraculously overcome multiple obstacles with his blindness that include; playing piano at 3-years-old without any professional training, being the first blind student in the country to be accepted into the public school system, graduating high school with honors, receiving a full scholarship to Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, and graduating from Belmont University in Nashville, TN with Cum Laude honors and a music degree.
Two days after graduation, Mote began touring with Country artist Lee Greenwood’s band, which led to the talented musician touring and recording with such major superstars as Trisha Yearwood, Brad Paisley, Bob Seger, Alan Jackson, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Gaither Vocal Band, and Lionel Richie.
Mote’s keyboard skills led him to being honored twice by the Academy of Country Music for Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year Awards, as well as two Music Row Magazine Instrumentalist of the Year Awards for playing on the most Top Ten albums. Mote has released nine albums as an independent artist, with If You Could Hear What I See earning Mote his first Dove nomination in 2004. Mote remains an active touring act by performing over 150 dates a year.
