Jim Sheldon Homecoming Is Huge Success

Danville, KY (November 17, 2014) Jim Sheldon Homecomings are becoming a big deal in Danville, KY, as Jim brings in some of the very best talent Gospel Music has to offer. Last year he featured the Isaacs, this year Brian Free and Assurance. It doesn't get any better than this.

Held on a Thursday evening to a large crowd considering the intense weather covering the area. No matter, the crowd braved the weather to enjoy the electrifying music and message provided on this enjoyable evening.

Known as the Positive Cowboy from his regular role on the Music City Show, seen on RFD-TV, Jim warmed those in attendance with many of his chart busting songs, including "I Saw A Man”, "Mansion In the Sky” and of course the emotional song he wrote in honor of his sister "Even After”.

Joining Jim onstage was the Positive Cowboy Band which included great Nashville musicians Jeff Parker – Mandolin, Molly Cherry Holmes – Fiddle, Mark Fain - Leader/Upright Bass, Lynn Williams – Drums, and Seth Taylor – Guitar. Jim commented, "I love singing with the live music and it doesn't get any better than the Positive Cowboy Band.”

Brian Free and Assurance totally blew away the audience with their lively repertoire of hit's both present and past. The crowd was on its feet several times as they performed their Dove winning song "Say Amen” as well as their signature song "Long As I've Got King Jesus”.

Emcee for the evening as well as performing was Comedian extraordinaire Tim Lovelace.

A special thanks goes to Bev McCann (Manager) for presenting Jim with Plaques of Two #1 Songs, "I Saw A Man" & "Mansion In The Sky".
Speaking of the success of his Homecoming, Jim said, "This was an event I look forward to every year and I Am One Blessed Man. Praise God!”

Great News For RFD-TV And The Music City Show

Nashville, TN (September 9, 2014) A larger share of the viewing audience is always great news for a television network and spectacular news for a television program. RFD-TV has announced the merger with AT&T U-Verse for distribution of their programming. This takes RFD-TV to a new level of viewership and skyrockets 'The Music City Show' to a host of new homes to see the value and entertainment of Gospel music.

RFD-TV's Patrick Gottsch stated “This is one of the proudest moments in the history of RFD-TV. Today, I am so pleased to announce to you first that AT&T U-Verse has launched RFD-TV as a basic channel on their 200 package which adds over 5.4 million homes to our distribution, taking RFD-TV past the 46 million barrier. RFD-TV is now on channel 568 on U-Verse. FamilyNet continues to be on channel 566. RFD HD will be launched by U-Verse as soon as space can be cleared, but no later than the end of this year.”

This is a major accomplishment is this day and age with the challenges of mergers, limited bandwidth, and independent channels being dropped by cable systems all around the country. More than anything else, this is a tribute to RFD-TV's programmers and programming which combined with the passion of our audience for rural, family-oriented programming has proven to be an unbeatable force capable of doing the "impossible".

Programming like 'The Music City Show' are prime examples of how clean family and even Christian music entertainment is more attractive now than ever to mainstream television. Scott Godsey, 'The Music City Show' producer commented “We are proud to be a part of the RFD-TV network and are so grateful to them for allowing Gospel music to be a vital part of their programming.”

No other channel gets so much support from its audience. To have over 57,000 of the 75,000 public comments to the FCC in the Comcast/Time Warner merger, and to date over 95% of the AT&T/DIRECTV public comments to the FCC about the importance of rural programming is making the strongest possible statement at this most critical time. The national press that RFD-TV has been receiving because of these public comments is having such a positive effect on our unique, grassroots situation.

Patrick Gottsch continued “I also want to thank the executives at AT&T and U-Verse. Unlike Comcast, since the review hearings at both the House & Senate, AT&T has sincerely worked hard to first understand the concerns of rural America, and take those concerns seriously. AT&T did so in a most expeditious manner. To go from our first meetings just a few months ago to an actual launch today is a real testament to AT&T's commitment of being a partner with RFD-TV to better serve the needs and interests of rural America.”

This is a huge step forward, but only a step. We still have a lot of work to do. However, I firmly believe that this announcement with AT&T U-Verse will help our efforts to get RFD-TV's distribution expanded and secured with the other carriers throughout this great nation.

RFD-TV will continue to keep all updated as news develops on the mergers. But, in the meantime, please be sure to tell your friends and neighbors that RFD-TV is now on AT&T U-Verse channel 568.

About Jim Sheldon
After serving many years as music minster, there was a void yet filled. In 1994, joined my first gospel quartet. Immediately, I knew singing gospel music was God's true calling for my life. He confirmed this with a paraphrase of Proverbs 3:6 - "In everything you do put God first, He will direct and crown your efforts with success."

My greatest inspiration came from Glenn Payne. The Cathedrals sang at my church in Virginia. He told me:"Vocalize daily and never sing out of your range. Remember, God gave you the ability and desire. Honor Him with a servant's heart." Now God says it's time to tell my story of how God has brought me out from a long 'wilderness time' of sin, shame and disgrace to where I am today.

RFD-TV and The Music City Show Start Second Season

Nashville, TN (March 5, 2014) After a hugely successful season on RFD-TV, The Music City Show is about to enjoy it's second season of great Gospel music programming. Quickly gaining new viewers every week, The Music City Show has become one of the premier programs featuring Gospel music on television today.

Starting the program using a variety of special hosts one of the changes in programming includes going with one full-time host. Tim Lovelace is named host of the Music City Show. After a successful run of the first season, comedian Tim Lovelace has found a home on the set of the Music City Show. He was a guest co-host and was a part of many special segments throughout most of the shows in season one.

"When we started planning season two we decided to make a few changes based on the response we received from fans across North America. We are going from a guest host on some shows to one full-time host. We knew there was only one phone call to make, TIM LOVELACE. We are so happy to announce that Tim is a part of the Music City Show family. On behalf of the production crew, we welcome you to the team," said producer Scott Godsey.

The Music City Show will continue to offer the highest quality programming using only the finest musicians and singers throughout the show. Featuring such talent in season one as Lynn Anderson, The Blackwood Brothers, Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, Legacy 5, The Bowling Family, Gene McDonald and Karen Peck and New River the show has already delved into the talent pool of Gospel music to bring you more of the absolute best music and comedy available.

One of the favorite regulars on the show is the Positive Cowboy Jim Sheldon. Jim was a natural singing those classic Gospel songs with a “cowboy” flare. He has become so popular that he was invited to walk the Red Carpet at RFD-TVs - The American Rodeo, the largest and richest rodeo in the country. No, Jim Sheldon was not riding bucking broncos, but he was promoting The Music City Show at The American Rodeo. He was meeting and greeting the fans and sharing the success of this spectacular show.
