The Positive Cowboy, Jim Sheldon In Studio For MCS Season 4 Tracks

Nashville, Tenn (February 4, 2015) Excitement is in the air as Jim Sheldon, known as The Positive Cowboy on The Music City Show, prepares for Season 4 coming this spring to millions of television screens across the country.

Jim's Positive Cowboy character on the show is a perfect match for his personal life. What you see on the show with the Positive Cowboy is an exact duplicate of what you get when you spend time with Jim off the set. Jim loves those great hymns that the Positive Cowboy sings on the show, so it's only natural that he puts his heart and soul into every song he sings.

Recording at Daywind Studios, some of the finest musicians in Nashville were hired to give these tracks the absolute best sound available.

Produced by Scott Godsey and Engineered by Justin Kropf this band contains some of the regulars on The Music City Show. The musicians for the sessions include Upright Bass - Mark Fain, Guitar/Banjo - Ron Block, Mandolin/Dobro - Justin Moses, Fiddle - Aubrey Haynie, and Drums - Lynn Williams. Awesome Players and Awesome Tracks!!

As a special feature Jim and Daywind recording artist the Blackwood Brothers Quartet will be teaming up on a couple of songs this season as well as on a CD project.

Sheldon will be heading back into the studio at the end of February to complete the Season 4 Hymns project.

Jim Sheldon commented, "The music and arrangements on each project just get better each time it seems. We love them all but, we have really enjoyed working on this project, it has a variety of songs and arrangements. We hope the listening audience will enjoy this as much as we are.”

The Positive Cowboy will be releasing Vol 2 for Season 3 of the Music City Hymns Projects at the end of February. Be looking for it or you can order it on line www.themusiccityshow.com .

The song list for the Season 4 CD Project is as follows:

Jim Sheldon Homecoming Is Huge Success

Danville, KY (November 17, 2014) Jim Sheldon Homecomings are becoming a big deal in Danville, KY, as Jim brings in some of the very best talent Gospel Music has to offer. Last year he featured the Isaacs, this year Brian Free and Assurance. It doesn't get any better than this.

Held on a Thursday evening to a large crowd considering the intense weather covering the area. No matter, the crowd braved the weather to enjoy the electrifying music and message provided on this enjoyable evening.

Known as the Positive Cowboy from his regular role on the Music City Show, seen on RFD-TV, Jim warmed those in attendance with many of his chart busting songs, including "I Saw A Man”, "Mansion In the Sky” and of course the emotional song he wrote in honor of his sister "Even After”.

Joining Jim onstage was the Positive Cowboy Band which included great Nashville musicians Jeff Parker – Mandolin, Molly Cherry Holmes – Fiddle, Mark Fain - Leader/Upright Bass, Lynn Williams – Drums, and Seth Taylor – Guitar. Jim commented, "I love singing with the live music and it doesn't get any better than the Positive Cowboy Band.”

Brian Free and Assurance totally blew away the audience with their lively repertoire of hit's both present and past. The crowd was on its feet several times as they performed their Dove winning song "Say Amen” as well as their signature song "Long As I've Got King Jesus”.

Emcee for the evening as well as performing was Comedian extraordinaire Tim Lovelace.

A special thanks goes to Bev McCann (Manager) for presenting Jim with Plaques of Two #1 Songs, "I Saw A Man" & "Mansion In The Sky".
Speaking of the success of his Homecoming, Jim said, "This was an event I look forward to every year and I Am One Blessed Man. Praise God!”

About Jim Sheldon
After serving many years as a music minister, Jim had a void yet to be filled. In 1994, Jim joined his first gospel quartet. Immediately, he knew singing gospel music was God’s true calling for his life. He confirmed this with a paraphrase of Proverbs 3:6 – “In everything you do put God first, He will direct and crown your efforts with success.”
Jim’s greatest inspiration comes from Glenn Payne. The Cathedrals sang at his church in Virginia. Glenn told Jim, “Vocalize daily and never sing out of your range. Remember, God gave you the ability and desire. Honor Him with a servant’s heart.”
Jim reflects, “Now God says it’s time to tell my story of how God has brought me out from a long ‘wilderness time’ of sin, shame and disgrace to where I am today.”
