RICK WEBB FAMILY ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH ENERGIZE MINISTRIES

webbSeptember 17, 2014 – The Rick Webb Family is proud to announce a partnership with Energize Ministries, based in Winston-Salem, NC.
The organization provides encouragement and refreshment to local church pastors through counseling, unique retreats and ongoing accountability services. The Rick Webb Family will perform special benefit concerts throughout the year and provide exposure to the ministry through their yearly concert schedule.

The first concert is scheduled for Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Christ Wesleyan Church in Winston-Salem, NC at7:00 PM.

The Rick Webb Family is known for loving pastors and the local church so this partnership is a natural fit. “So many pastors and their families have nowhere to turn when they face discouragement,” says Rick Webb. “They give out so much every single day, and many times they have no one pouring into their lives and the lives of their families. Energize Ministries does just that and our family is proud to partner with them to help the families of the local church pastor.”

The Rick Webb Family is celebrating 30 years in music ministry. The group is known for their musical excellence and strong biblically based programs. They have appeared at some of the largest churches in America and alongside giants of the faith such as Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Charles Colson, Dr. David Jeremiah and Dr. D. James Kennedy – just to name a few.

Their latest project Committed to the Call is available from Song Garden Music Group.

The Harmony Quartet Releases New CD

The Harmony Quartet (THQ) of Dallas, TX has released their latest CD recording, entitled “Up Ahead”; recorded at Crossroads Studios in Arden, NC. This marks the groups 20th LP, in their 23rd year of singing Southern Gospel music.
Legendary keyboard player, producer and arranger Danny Crawford, known for his work with such great artists as the Ruppes, Martins, Kingsmen, Dove Brothers, Karen Peck, Ivan Parker and many others, teamed up with the quartet’s lead singer and songwriter Keith Gilliam to produce a varied collection of both original and iconic southern gospel music laced with just a hint of inspirational country.
The CD includes two very popular throwback hits from the Imperials of the 70’s, with “The Old Gospel Ship” and “Because of Who You Are”, along with a couple from country artists, Rascal Flatts (Changed) and crossover greats, The Oakridge Boys ( Jonah, Job and Moses). Gilliam, adds to the collection with three originals including a gospel blues rendition of his tune, “Rolled Away”, which has been well received on gospel radio.
The CD is available on the groups web site at www.harmonymusic or on Itunes at https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/up-ahead/id828590423?ls=1

Charlie Burke Passes Away

Announcement from Singing News.com

Singing News has learned that Charles Burke has passed away today (Friday, Sept. 23) at around 7 a.m. at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Early indications suggest that Mr. Burke suffered a brain aneurysm late last night at his home near Maiden, North Carolina. He had just celebrated his 75th birthday Sunday, Sept. 18.

Mr. Burke is generally regarded as a "behind-the-scenes" guiding force of Southern Gospel music. Among his numerous contributions to music in bringing life harmony are his distinguished service as a Board Member of the Southern Gospel Music Association and the Southern Gospel Music Hall Of Fame. An entrepreneur with several diversified businesses to his credit, including partial ownership of the National Quartet Convention, Mr. Burke was a driving force behind the outstanding quartet, The Singing Americans, and, with his son Michael, owned Tape Corporation Of America.

The following is a statement from Clarke Beasley about Charles Burke:

"The greatest among us are those who do not focus on elevating themselves but elevating others. Charles Burke spent a lifetime elevating others, dreaming dreams and bringing them to fruition, advancing the cause of the music he loved and the professionals within that music that he loved even more. To the countless people whose lives he impacted, his memory will be cherished and he will be greatly missed.

Last week, as president of the Southern Gospel Music Guild, I watched as Mr. Burke was celebrated by the people who loved him most as he was presented the Lifetime Achievement Honor. I am so glad he knew just how much he was appreciated."

A tremendous discoverer and encourager of new musical talent, Mr. Burke was instrumental in the careers of such persons as Clayton Inman and David Sutton of The Triumphant Quartet, Ivan Parker, Danny Funderburk, as well as such grous as The Whisnants, The Reggie Saddler Family and The Dove Brothers.

In a conversation this morning with Michael Burke, Michael says that the family appreciates all the prayers during this time. He further states that funeral arrangements are pending, but will be shared as soon as they are finalized.
