BCWI Announces 2014 Best Christian Workplaces

MERCER ISLAND, Wash., July 30, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The 2014 Best Christian Workplaces rely on inspirational work and effective communication to create a flourishing culture that meets the needs of those they serve.  Best Christian Workplaces Institute announces that 76 distinguished organizations have earned Certification as Best Christian Workplaces for 2014.  Each year since 2003, BCWI has identified the list of Certified Best Christian Workplaces.  This year is the largest participation level since the inception of the program.

Certified Best Christian Workplaces are global and represent all facets of ministries from churches, schools to universities, parachurch missions to product and services, book publishers to radio stations.  These Certified organizations exceed the percentage of engaged employees vs. norms.

The BCWI survey, now in its twelfth year, has surveyed over 140,000 employees from 630 organizations in the US, Canada, Australia, and South Africa.  In the past year, 158 organizations participated in the survey with 76 achieving Certification.  Attaining BCWI certification is not easy, many organizations survey multiple times before receiving this distinction.

For employees in Christian organizations, working in a flourishing culture energizes their calling and passion for service to others.  Employees in Christian organizations are also encouraged to see continuous improvement in engagement levels among their coworkers.  Engagement levels improved to 53.7% vs. 51% a year ago, and 47% two years ago according to Al Lopus, President of Best Christian Workplaces.  As a result, the gap between the engagement levels of Christian and secular workplaces continues to grow.

There is a lot of buzz about workplace culture in Christian organizations.  Last August at the Global Leadership Summit, Bill Hybels boldly shared the transformational journey Willow Creek Community Church had been on during the previous five years and the impact it has had on their church.  After moving from a nearly toxic culture to a flourishing culture, Hybels says the payoff is, "You will simply not believe how much better a healthy culture performs.  Get ready for outcomes you never thought were possible by your organization."  To develop a flourishing culture, leaders at these organizations focus on activities such as defining values, hiring for cultural fit, holding more frequent performance discussions and integrating culture with strategy.

To earn the distinction as a Best Christian Workplace, organizations participate in the Best Christian Workplace Institute's employee engagement survey and meet predetermined standards of excellence.  The survey covers issues such as job satisfaction, commitment, Christian witness, supervisory effectiveness, work satisfaction, personal growth and development, management effectiveness, customer/supporter satisfaction, teamwork, communication and pay and benefits.  Employees confidentially respond to more than 50 questions addressing these topics.

Best Christian Workplaces Institute's purpose is to serve faith-based organizations by creating processes of discovery, facilitating leadership and organizational health and encouraging behaviors that build flourishing organizations.  BCWI is a non-profit research based organizational development and human resources consulting firm based on Mercer Island, WA.

Williamsons Invited To Perform In South Africa

Wetumkw, OK (December 10, 2013) Recently The Williamsons of Wetumka, Oklahoma were invited to present the music at a revival service near their home town. They were not aware that the evangelist was the Rev. Livingstone Zitha of Johannesburg, South Africa where he pastors a church of more than 5,000 members. He fell in love with the Southern Gospel music performed by The Williamsons and invited them to come to his church in South Africa along with other churches and to hold an area wide crusade at an athletic event field. The Williamsons have been working the past few years with Mike Russell of The World Mission Team who, along with The Williamsons, works in conjunction with The Gospel Station radio network. Rev. Russell was immediately put in charge of arrangements.

"Plans are beginning to take shape for the Williamson's third missionary journey with the Gospel Station's World mission team.” stated Mike Russell leader of the world mission team. Russell continued "Talk's have been on going for a year with Pastor Livingstone of Johannesburg South Africa for a joint effort to conduct a stadium crusade in the city of Johannesburg. What a privilege that God would allow us to work along side this powerful man of God. God is up to some good things."

Mike and Jan Russell along with the Williamson's will travel to South Africa during the month of November 2014 for the outreach. Those interested in participating in this exciting mission trip should contact the Williamson's, donnie@williamsonsmusic.com , The Gospel Station network" http://www.thegospelstation.com/ or the Russell's, mjruss@juno.com .

The Williamsons are excited about this new opportunity. They have been privileged to see nearly 9,000 lost souls make professions of faith in Jesus Christ in the past two years on mission endeavors. They are looking forward to seeing many thousands more come to Christ in South Africa!

In other news The Williamsons are releasing a new project.

The Williamsons are proud to announce the release of a brand new project featuring singer/songwriter Lisa Williamson. Lisa has written some new material for this project, much of it inspired by a very difficult situation through which she helped her parents. Songs like “I Will Be There Too”, “I’ve Made Up My Mind”, and one with a bluegrass feel “A Few Tears of Sorrow” were written to help encourage the Christian experiencing struggles. The title cut, “Counting My Blessings” is the old Irving Berlin song from the movie White Christmas which encourages us to remember all the wonderful things with which God has blessed us. It also includes two Dottie Rambo classics “We Shall Behold Him” and “Don’t Lift the Anchor”. She even included one song she wrote for her and Donnie’s two daughters, Sadie (age 8) and Olivia (age 6) called “Little Old Me”. They do a great job singing a great little song. Lisa says, “My hope is that people enjoy what they hear. It takes a lot of work to put a new recording together. If it encourages just one person, then that work was not in vain.” Counting My Blessings is expected to be released by January 1.

About The Williamsons

The Williamsons began sharing the Gospel through music in 1998 as The Homesteaders Quartet. The dream of Donnie Williamson was to form a group to sing classic Gospel music on a limited basis. What he wanted to do never occurred. From the group's onset their demand was overwhelming. Soon they were performing more than 100 dates a year. For the past several years The Williamsons have been in full time Christian ministry and entertainment and have traveled across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Their music has been in national charts and were they honored to be nominated to the Gospel Music Association for a Dove Award.

Their high energy musical style appeals to people of all ages. The versatility of The Williamsons is evident through the wide variety of musical styles they perform. There is always something for everyone. The marketing of their performances targets families and not just fans of any particular type of music. Spending an evening with The Williamsons is sure to be one that will lift you up, bless you, and entertain you all at the same time. Their primary desire is to share the Gospel in such a way that those in attendance who do not know Jesus Christ will come to know him before the program is over.

ERNIE HAASE & SIGNATURE SOUND TAKE “GLORIOUS DAY” TO SOUTH AFRICA!

June 27, 2013 (Nashville, TN) - ERNIE HAASE & SIGNATURE SOUND, the Grammy-nominated, Dove Award-winning, platinum-selling, BILLBOARD® chart-topping group is set to showcase their “Glorious Day” tour on two consecutive nights in South Africa beginning tonight!
“We can’t wait to take the stage tonight in Johannesburg and tomorrow in Cape Town” said Ernie Haase. “We’re going to have a great time! We’ve got two very special nights full of music, laughter and memories planned for all our friends in South Africa. We just released our brand new CD, Glorious Day, and we’re looking forward to debuting some brand new material and also singing the classics people know and love!”
Combining 21st century ideas with the timeless quality of great quartets from the 1950s, this Grammy-nominated, Dove award-winning group has broken the traditional mold of gospel quartets. With their unconventional approach to communicating the Good News, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound (EHSS) are blazing a trail through the heart of Gospel music with groundbreaking originality.
The group’s founder and leader, Ernie Haase, got his start in Gospel music as a long-time member of the renowned Cathedral Quartet, and his roots are deeply planted in the rich legacy of music that is both meaningful and thoroughly entertaining. After the Cathedrals bid farewell to their five-decade run in the music industry, Ernie put all his great training to work when he formed, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. With chart-topping DVDs and audio releases, the group’s success continues to gain momentum with each new release.
