Christian Voice Magazine Announces Top Five Finalists in 2012 SGM and CGM Fan Awards
Each year, Christian Voice Magazine presents the Country Gospel Music Fan Awards and Southern Gospel Music Fan Awards. Award recipients are decided upon solely by Country and Southern Gospel Music fans through a simple, two-phase voting process for each genre. Open nominations for this year's awards were accepted during the month of January 2012. Nominations have been tallied and the results are in.
Leading this year’s CGM Fan Awards with nominations in seven categories is inspirational singer/songwriter/musician Cindy Hughlett. Following close behind, The Burress Family and Miles Pike, with 5 nominations each. The Parish Family, Sunday Drive, Joan Gregory, Marty Raybon, James Payne and Epp Mevin Walls are tied with three nominations each. In non-artist categories, Double E Promotions leads the way with three nominations, including ‘Promoter of the Year.’
Karen Peck & New River dominates the 2012 SGM Fan Awards with nominations in eight categories, and The Dixie Melody Boys are still at the top of their game with seven nominations, including Ed O’ Neal for the ‘Naomi Sego’ Living Legend Award. The Perrys follow with six nominations along with Brothers Redeemed - a North Carolina-based quartet rising to the occasion to the delight of Southern Gospel quartet fans. Eternal Vision garnered five nominations, followed by The Nelons and The Hoppers who tied with four nominations each.
Awards will be given as winners are announced at the CGM Fan Awards and the SGM Fan Awards shows, both presented by Christian Voice Magazine at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, TN. The CGM Fan Awards program will take place on Saturday April 28, 2012, during the week of Country Gospel Music FanFest. The SGM Fan Awards program will be held on Thursday May 3, 2012, during the week of Southern Gospel Music FanFair.
