Mercy's Well Final Christmas Concert

Whether we are ready for it or not, Christmas is upon us. The countdown has reached five days! There is still time for some last-minute shopping for those of you who like to wait until the final days to make your purchases. I think we have most of our shopping done - emphasis on "most". This weekend should provide us with ample opportunity to scratch off whatever remains on our Christmas lists, at least we hope it will! We have one final Christmas concert scheduled for our 2012 BETHLEHEM SKY tour, this Sunday morning in Eastern, NC. After the morning service, we officially start our Christmas vacations! We are looking forward to spending time with friends and family as the season progresses.

We would like to take this time to personally invite YOU to help us ring in the New Year - 2013! We are planning a great night of gospel music on Monday, December 31. Our special guests for the evening will be the amazing vocal trio, Sisters! The concert will be free to the public, and will be held at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church in Colfax, NC. The music starts at 8:00pm, and we will be finishing early enough to allow those who wish to get home at a decent hour to do so. Please make plans to join us for this great night!

We truly hope and pray you have a wonderful Christmas celebration. Whether you're gathering with lots of family, or spending some time with just a couple of loved ones, cherish the moments. Remember the reason for our joy - Jesus Christ, God's own Son, came to earth to live among us. He lived a perfect life, died to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose victoriously from the grave, forever conquering the powers of sin, death, hell, and the grave! Worship Him this Christmas. Worship Him everyday!

As December rolls along, so does the Mercy's Well Christmas Tour! We had a great weekend of concerts on the Delmarva Peninsula, making stops in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Those who came out to see us were dressed in their holiday best! Lots of red, green, white and gold - and, of course, a wide variety of Christmas sweaters! Just remember, in all the hustle and bustle that comes this time of year, that we have a great reason to celebrate: Jesus Christ came to die for us, that we might live with Him forever!

The first week of December has almost come and gone. This season seems to pass by so quickly! Among our ministry partners and churches we stay in contact with, we are seeing advertisements for choir cantatas, plays, pageants, and Christmas dinners taking place over the next couple of weeks. Let us encourage all of you who may be weary from rehearsals, or stressed by a plethora of details: KEEP GOING! By God's power, you can make it through, and it will be worth all of your effort.

We are less than 48 hours away from the month of December, and it certainly feels like it today! A thin coat of frost covered the ground this morning, and the temperature gauge was reading about twenty-seven degrees. Time to bundle up!

The cold weather didn't ruin our fun last weekend, as we had two great INDOOR services on Sunday. Our morning was spent with Pastor Jimmy and the congregation of Unity Baptist Fellowship in Sophia, NC. This was our first Christmas concert for this year, and we were debuting nine new songs! By God's grace, we remembered almost all of the words and almost all of our staging moves (wasn't perfect, but still a good first run)!

By Sunday night, we were ready for our Christmas dinner/concert. So much preparation and hard work went into making this night a success, and it was it was so good to see everything and everyone come together as planned. We had a great night of food and fellowship - thanks to all of you who were able to attend! We truly appreciate your support and encouragement of our ministry!

Happy Tuesday to you! Our weekly newsletter is usually sent out on Thursdays, but we wanted to send you a personal reminder about our "Christmas with Mercy's Well and Friends" dinner/concert. Although the banquet is scheduled for Sunday evening, November 25, we need to have a final headcount for the caterers early enough for them to prepare the right amount of food. For this reason, our deadline for reservations is THIS THURSDAY NOVEMBER 15.

We would love to have you join us for this special evening! Welcome to November! With harvest parties/festivals nearing their end, our focus turns towards Thanksgiving - which is only three weeks away! It is hard to believe how quickly time passes, but the cooler weather here on the East Coast is a sure indicator that Fall is in full swing, and Winter will be here soon.

We ended our October close to home, singing in Brad's home church where his dad has been the Minister of Music for over 40 years! It was a rare treat for us to worship with them again, and we enjoyed our time of fellowship afterwards.

As this newsletter is being typed, Brad is out in Nashville, TN overseeing the final touches on our Christmas project, BETHLEHEM SKY. We cannot wait to get the finished product into our hands! You could be one of the first to get this project as well: Tickets are now on sale for our 3rd Annual "Christmas with Mercy's Well and Friends" dinner/concert. This year's event (held on Sunday, November 25 in Asheboro, NC) will serve as a release party for the new album! We will be singing songs from our DECEMBER album, as well as debuting songs from BETHLEHEM SKY! Original Mercy's Well member Bobby Marsh will also be with us as our special guest - so you never know what might happen!

Mercy's Well News

It has been a couple of weeks since our last update, so allow us to catch you up on everything that's been going on! Our Ohio and Michigan weekend was a real blessing. Two of the churches we visited were new for us, and two were places we had sung before. Overall, it was a great weekend.

Monday the 15th was our first day in the studio working on our new Christmas CD, which we are excited to announce will be entitled BETHLEHEM SKY! Even though we only had four days to work, we were able to get most of the project complete. Brad will be flying back out to Nashville next week to oversee the final additions being made (strings, brass, etc). These are the little things that really make the songs POP! We cannot wait to hear the finished product!

Last weekend was a sweet time for us, as we celebrated homecoming with our friends at Landmark FCOG in Princeton, WV. These folks have become like family to us, and it was so good to see them all again. Sunday evening was also special, as it allowed us the opportunity to visit the church of the young boy we mentioned on our Facebook page earlier this summer. Riley Gardner is 4 yrs old, and has been diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. He was able to come to our concert, and was singing along from the front row for most of the evening. He was too shy to come up on stage and sing with us, but that's okay...he was the star of the show, regardless! We ask that you continue to keep Riley and his entire community in your prayers. Thank You!
