Winners Announced for 2010 SGN Scoops Diamond Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (July 1, 2010) – The 2010 SGN Scoops Diamond Awards were handed out last night in Branson, Missouri as a part of the 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention. Eighteen awards were handed out at the awards presentation and several artists won multiple awards including the Gaither Vocal Band, Booth Brothers, Jason Crabb, and Jeff & Sheri Easter.
Rob Patz of Coastal Media Group (owners of SGN Scoops Digital and the Diamond Awards) said, “This year’s show was so much fun! We can’t believe that it is over. We feel like we’ve really made an impressive step forward in regards to the look, feel, and flow of the program.”
This year’s event featured a myriad of performers and special guests throughout the program. The Diamond Awards celebrated the 100th anniversary of Southern Gospel music with special performances by some of Gospel music’s most beloved performers. Several “scrap-iron” groups performed Southern Gospel favorites from the genres rich and varied history.
Members from groups like Beyond the Ashes, 2nd Generation, Dan Keeton Quartet, Sunday Edition, Crosspoint Quartet, The Williamsons, Ascension Quartet, McMillan & Life, The Roarks, Praise Incorporated and soloists Mike Allen, Kenny Bishop, Chris Hester, Rod Burton, and many more all were a part of the All Star groups.
In addition, the evening featured performances from Young Harmony, Christy Sutherland, and Dove Award winner Gerald Crabb. Springfield Missouri’s Broadway Baptist Church Choir opened the program.
Other artists and industry professionals made appearances including Ann Downing, AbsolutelyGospel.com’s Deon Unthank, Dustin & Kaila, Hearts of Faith, GospelGigs.com’s Greg Inman, Gospel Music Today’s Ken & Jean Grady, State of the Ozarks’ Joshua Heston, Branson Radio Live’s Karen Berka, KWFC’s Jonathan Edwards, and many more.
This year’s hosts were Johnathan Bond (of Dove Award nominated group Young Harmony) and Christy Sutherland.

Event to Celebrate 100th Anniversary of Southern Gospel Music
Appearances by Springfield’s Broadway Baptist Church Choir, Senator Jack Goodman, and Other Branson Favorites!
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (June 30, 2010) – Coastal Media Group and SGN Scoops Digital will present the 2010 Diamond Awards tomorrow evening, July 1, 2010, as a part of the 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention.
This year’s event will feature a myriad of performers and special guests throughout the program. The Diamond Awards will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Southern Gospel music with special performances by some of Gospel music’s most beloved performers. Several “scrap-iron” groups will perform Southern Gospel favorites from the genres rich and varied history.
Members from groups like Beyond the Ashes, 2nd Generation, Blackwood Quartet, Sunday Edition, Crosspoint Quartet, The Williamsons, Ascension Quartet, McMillan & Life, The Roarks, Praise Incorporated and soloists Mike Allen, Kenny Bishop, Chris Hester, Rod Burton, and many more will be a part of the All Star groups.
In addition, the evening will feature performances from Young Harmony, Christy Sutherland, and Dove Award winner Gerald Crabb. Springfield Missouri’s Broadway Baptist Church Choir will also open the program.

Music and Ministry Meet in Branson This Week For 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention

BRANSON, Mo. – (June 28, 2010) – Fans of Gospel music from all over the nation will gather this week in Branson, Missouri for the 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention. Representing the best in Gospel music, more than 150 artists and organizations will be on hand at the annual event. Gospel artists are coming to sing from as far as California and Florida and as near as the town of Branson – ranging in age, style, and genre. Family groups, traditional quartets, contemporary, progressive country, worship, bluegrass Gospel, & more will all be represented this week.
An exciting week is planned for the event. Headlining artists include Dino, HisSong, Blackwood Quartet, Chuck Wagon Gang, Gaither Homecoming artist Mike Allen, Beyond the Ashes, Grammy Award nominee Kenny Bishop, Hinson Revival, Melody Boys Quartet, Dove Award nominated Young Harmony, McMillan & Life, Rod Burton, Sunday Edition, 2nd Generation, English Family, Jay Stone Singers, and more.
The event will also include spotlight performances from some of Branson’s favorite performers including Voices of Glory (from NBC’s America’s Got Talent), The Wissman Family, Twice Adopted, Buck Trent, George Dyer, Buckets & Boards, and Clay Cooper.
The Branson GMC has partnered with Sight and Sound Theater, Branson Tourism Center, Ozark Medieval Fortress, Branson Radio Live, Morningside and the Jim Bakker Show, CinnaRoll, Dino's Catering Divas, Veteran's Galleria, and other Branson & Ozark businesses to give its artists and guests a taste of Branson while they are in town. On a national scale, the annual convention has also partnered with child advocacy organization Compassion International.
The SGN Scoops Diamond Awards will be featured Thursday night and will include appearances by Broadway Baptist Choir of Springfield, Illinois, state senator Jack Goodman, and gospel great Gerald Crabb in addition to several of the artists featured throughout the week. This fan-voted awards show will also include a new "Publisher's Choice" award to be presented to a Branson-based gospel performer.
The event will host a Piano Jubilee Thursday afternoon and an Albert E Brumley Tribute sing-along, hosted by Al Brumley Jr., on Friday afternoon.
In honor of their service, military veterans will receive free admission to any of convention’s nine concerts.
“There’s a lot of excitement that has been building over the last few weeks as the culmination of this year’s work is revealed this week,” mentioned Kelly Burton of YMR Productions, LLC. “We always planned for this event to be different than other Gospel music conventions. We feel like God is going to do mighty things this week, and we hope that people see His hands all over it.”

Performers Continue To Be Added For 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention

BRANSON, Mo. – (June 23, 2010) – Excitement continues to build for the 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention which is to be held next week at the Branson Convention Center in Branson, Missouri.
Rod & Kelly Burton, owners of YMR Productions, LLC, are excited to announce the addition of Chris Hester as well as Branson favorites The Wissman Family and Twice Adopted to the performance schedule. (It was announced earlier this week that Gaither Homecoming favorite Mike Allen was added as a featured performer as well.) Gerald Crabb has also been added as a featured performer during the Diamond Awards program, which is to be held Thursday evening, July 1, 2010 during the convention.
“God has continually amazed us,” mentioned Rod Burton. “The talent that has come on board for this convention continues to amaze us. We are so excited about what God has in store for this year’s program. We hope everyone who can come out will. This is going to be an exciting year!”

Mike Allen Named As Featured Performer for 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention

BRANSON, Mo. – (June 21, 2010) – The Branson Gospel Music Convention is excited to announce Gaither Homecoming favorite Mike Allen has been added to the concert lineup. Allen is a regular on the Gaither Homecoming concerts, videos, and cruises, and has a long history of gospel music with The Weatherfords, Phil Cross and Poet Voices, The Blackwoods, and more.

Additional Performers and Special Events Named for 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention

BRANSON, Mo. – (June 7, 2010) – Additional performers and special events continue to be planned for the 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention which returns to Branson, Missouri this month. Gospel music enthusiasts and fans from all across the country will gather this month to celebrate Gospel music as excitement continues to grow for the event!
In addition to the already planned Diamond Awards – the Branson Gospel Music Convention will host a special concert featuring many of the brightest keyboardists in the Southern Gospel community. This “Piano Jubilee” will be hosted by award-winning pianist Zack Swain. The “Zack Swain and Friends Piano Jubilee” will take place on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. during the daily matinee concert.
Also, a special All-Star Choir will gather on Friday afternoon, July 2, 2010 for a special tribute to Albert E. Brumley. That event will also take place during the matinee concert.

Russ Taff Added as Featured Performer at Branson Gospel Music Convention

BRANSON, Mo. – (June 3, 2010) – Excitement continues to build for the 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Covention which returns to Branson, Missouri this month. Rod and Kelly Burton of YMR Productions, LLC are excited to announce the addition of Grammy and Dove Award winning soloist Russ Taff to the event’s growing list of performers.
Russ Taff's music has won him not only a wide audience and critical acclaim, but a total of five Grammy Awards and nine Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. He has been hailed by Billboard Magazine as "the single most electrifying voice in Christian music."
“We are so excited about having Russ participate in this year’s Branson GMC,” mentioned Rod Burton of YMR Productions, LLC. “Russ and his wife Tori have become great friends of mine and Kelly’s, and we are humbled to see him support this event! We know that his passion and talent are going to add a lot to our program this year!”

2010 Branson Gospel Music Convention Partners with Local Media For Major Push of Event

BRANSON, Mo. – YMR Music Productions, LLC. Is proud to announce that the 2010 Branson Gospel Music Convention will once again come together with local media to push the event.
Like last year, the Branson GMC will partner with MorningSide and the Jim Bakker Show throughout the week of the event. The Jim Bakker Show will feature many of the performing artists featured at the popular concert event – including names like the Chuck Wagon Gang, HisSong, McMillan & Life, and Hinson Revival.
Kelly Burton, Program Director for the Branson Gospel Music Convention said, “The great people of MorningSide embraced us from our start in 2009. They have a rich legacy of evangelism through many means, including song, and we are grateful for the chance to work with them again.”
In addition, MorningSide and the Branson Gospel Music Convention will be joining together for a special Friday evening concert on June 25, 2010 that will feature Branson’s Marcey Wall, Hinson Revival and additional artists yet to be confirmed. This concert will precede the week-long event in order to give it an extra boost in local awareness.
New this year, the convention will be the sole subject of DJ Karen Berka’s “Branson Radio Live” show at the Little Opry Theatre on Sunday, June 27, 2010. Berka’s weekly Sunday program draws a studio audience of over 200 people and a listening audience via KBFL 99.9 FM and 1060 AM, as well as the Branson Radio Live stream from the show’s website.
“We're so excited to be working with strong local partners who share our enthusiasm to share the Gospel in Branson," mentioned YMR Production’s Rod Burton. "Karen has generously embraced Branson GMC and hers is a natural outlet to showcase Gospel artists who may not have seen the Branson audience before.
Berka will kick off Branson GMC week by featuring interviews with and songs by select artists on her stage at the IMAX Entertainment complex in Branson.

The 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention is set to take place beginning Monday evening, June 28, through Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Branson Convention Center across from Branson Landing. Branson Gospel Music Convention Named a 2010 Pacesetter Nominee in SGN Music Awards

BRANSON, Mo. – After its first year as a major concert event in the Southern Gospel Community, the Branson Gospel Music Convention was honored as one of five nominees for the 2010 Pacesetter in the SGN Music Awards.
The Pacesetter Award honors individuals, companies, artists, events, and the like who raise the standard in the industry during the previous year. Past winners have included such names as the Crabb Family, Daywind Records, Booth Brothers, artist manager Kathy Hannah and last year’s winner the National Quartet Convention (in addition to many others). It is the most prestigious award handed out at the awards program.
Kelly Burton, Program Director for the Branson Gospel Music Convention, said, "For this event to be recognized after its first year is the icing on the cake for us. We're especially excited because it was an effort of our family and close friends, and we share the acknowledgment with them."

The 2010 SGN Music Awards Celebration will take place on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tennessee. The event is free to the public.
The Branson Gospel Music Convention is put on by YMR Music Productions, LLC. The company announced that the 2nd Annual Branson Gospel Music Convention is to take place beginning Monday evening, June 28, through Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Branson Convention Center across from Branson Landing.
Artists already scheduled for the 2010 event include the Chuck Wagon Gang, Blackwood Quartet, HisSong, Dino, Kenny Bishop, The Melody Boys Quartet, Young Harmony, McMillan & Life, Sunday Edition, Beyond the Ashes, Hinson Revival, Stutzman Family, 2nd Generation, Rod Burton, and many more!
