God is FAITHFUL to the FAITHFUL

Hello friends, we hope that everyone is doing well. 2nd Generation has been very busy and we are so thankful for the powerful services that we have been having. We are seeing souls saved, and lives changed and that is why we do what we do.

A few months back we had the honor of being the guest on the "Gospel Music Showcase" program on the Daystar network. We were in shock when we received the call from Daystar asking us to be their guest. We were like little kids in a candy store. We are just preachers kids from the Ozarks and being on TV is a "BIG DEAL" to us. HAHAHA...
I must say that we were treated like royalty from the minute we arrived in Dallas TX. It was an experience that we will never forget and we are forever grateful.

We are preparing to go back into the studio to record a new CD and we are excited about having a CD with Randy Barnes on it. We can't wait for you to hear our new songs. God is so good to us and we are so thankful for the calling upon our lives.  We are asking for your prayers as we continue to prepare for this recording. It takes finances and time to make this happen and we know that God will make it happen.

We love you and appreciate each of you and we can't do what we do without your prayers and support. Thank you for believing in 2nd G.

New Jim Brady Trio and New Booth Brothers debut at Legacy Five's New Year's Eve Celebration

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 17, 2014) – The debut of the Jim Brady Trio and the Booth Brothers first concert with new group member Paul Lancaster will highlight Legacy Five’s New Year’s Eve Celebration, which will be held at Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Brady has spent the last 12 years as the baritone singer of the award-winning Booth Brothers trio, but he will now be singing with his wife Melissa and former Legacy Five pianist Tim Parton as the Jim Brady Trio debuts on Thursday morning, Jan. 1. Paul Lancaster is joining the Booth Brothers, and he will make his debut with the group on Wednesday evening, Dec. 31. That will also be Brady’s last concert with the group. "It's extraordinarily rare that you get to witness this much Southern Gospel Music history in one place at one time, ”says Legacy Five group manager and lead singer Scott Fowler. “To see and hear the Booth Brothers for the last time with Jim Brady, and to hear the new Jim Brady Trio and to hear the new Booth Brothers lineup all at the same event is really exciting. What better way than to ring out the old year and sing in the new year … the end of a season and the start of a new one." There will be four sessions of this year’s New Year’s Eve Celebration event, beginning at 7 p.m. on Dec. 30 with a lineup that includes the Collingsworth Family, the Burchfield Brothers, Triumphant Quartet and Tim Lovelace. The Collingsworth Family will be back for a 10 a.m. session on Wednesday morning, Dec. 31, along with the Freedom Singers and Rick White. In addition to performances by both the new and existing configuration of the Booth Brothers, the 8 p.m. session on Dec. 31 will also include Greater Vision and a Jubilee performance that includes the Booth Brothers, Greater Vision and Legacy Five. Legacy Five will be performing at each session. Then, the event will conclude with a 10 a.m. concert on Jan. 1 that will include Cal Reichnor in addition to the host group and the Jim Brady Trio. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT from The Shireys...

After much prayer and consideration, Victoria Bowlin will be leaving The Shireys. Her and her husband, Aaron have been called into a ministry of their own. Victoria will be a full time soloist, and Aaron will join her on the road as much as possible and preach as well. Her last date with The Shireys will be December 31, 2014. On January 1, 2015, the new ministry will launch. Aaron and Victoria are so excited to see what God has in store for them! Victoria will also be speaking at some women's conferences and special events. They will also do some revivals and are open to whatever God has for them. The Shireys will continue to sing as a trio. Rachael Shirey will step up and take over Victoria's position. "It was such a hard decision to make to leave the family and branch out on my own. This is all I've ever known, but I know that God has some amazing things in store, not only for my husband and I, but for my family as well. We prayed extensively for several months over this and know this is God's will for us. It's a new season!", says Victoria. The Shireys say, "We are very proud of Victoria and Aaron. Phil Leadbetter's New Album, The Next Move, Releases Tomorrow

"Uncle Phil" is joined by an impressive lists of guests (NASHVILLE, TN) - On the heels of his recent win as IBMA's 2014 Dobro Player of the Year, Phil Leadbetter releases his remarkable new album, The Next Move, tomorrow, October 14th. One of only three players to ever receive the award, (Jerry Douglas and Rob Ickes round out the trio), Phil was previously named IBMA Dobro Player of the Year in 2005. Upon receiving his award, the always-humble Leadbetter had to gather his thoughts. In almost disbelief, he said, "I just won the IBMA Dobro player of the year. Still in total shock. So many great players out there. I'm not worthy of such a awesome award, so I give all the glory to God. Thanks to my wonderful family and those who voted. I'm still lost for words."  During his first battle with Stage III Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2011, Phil feared that his 37-year music career may be over. He made a “bucket list” of friends and idols in the music business with whom he’d always wanted to record, or simply wanted to play with once again … if only his health would allow. When the cancer went into remission the next year, Phil found himself strong enough to pick up the resonator guitar once again. Phil felt ready for the next move and returned to that dream list of musicians and friends, scribbled on the back of calendar. “I guess fighting cancer gave me some bravery,” he chuckles. “There are some folks on that list I never would have called before, but they were all so great and acted like THEY were the ones honored to be asked! The honor was all mine.” With almost more Grammy, IBMA, and CMA award-winning guest artists than one can count, The Next Move (Pinecastle Records) is the culmination of Phil’s dream; that bucket list of artists who all said, “yes.” WIth The Next Move, Phil shows his amazing gift for creativity, arrangements, and brilliant picking with a stellar lineup of guests.
