SGN Scoops November Issue Now Available

We are excited to present the November issue of SGNScoops Magazine! A picture is worth a thousand words, right? The cover this month captures the spirit of this year’s 2013 Creekside Gospel Music Convention! The spirit is certainly the spirit of Joy! The smiles almost tell it all, but catch the details of this year’s event along with a listing of Diamond Award winners in this issue.

Also, this month’s issue is not the typical predominately Southern Gospel Music Magazine. We’re just a bit on the COUNTRY side! This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Christian Country like never before. Don’t miss Rick Kiser’s story, “Christian Country Gives Thanks,” as well as features on Sharron Kay King, Steve Brown, Greg McDougal.

This month also features Providence Quartet and Canaan’s Crossing. Lorraine Walker and Rob Patz put together a fabulous Thanksgiving article allowing the Southern Gospel Community voice their gratitude.

We all need our spirits boosted, so don’t miss encouragement from Sherry Anne and Dr. Jeff Steele, and don’t miss reading Lou Hildreth’s special memories. A story on “Mary Anne Oglesby and The Veranda” is sure to warm hearts of families dealing with Alzheimer’s and we hope will inspire other churches to care for the aged in their congregations.

Award winning Songwriter, Belinda Smith shares her ministry and Ethan Whisnant shares his “Younger Perspective.”

Golden State Quartet Hosts Old Time Gospel Sing At Creekside Gospel Music Convention

Creekside Gospel Music Convention, Pigeon Forge, TN (July 16, 2013) – Creekside Gospel Music Convention attendees are buzzing about the addition of an exciting new event, Golden State Quartet’s Old Time Gospel Sing, to be held October 30th in beautiful Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Golden State Quartet will bring their classic Southern Gospel style from California to the Creekside stage along with many of their industry friends, engaging the audience in a fun and nostalgic trip down a musical memory lane.

On Wednesday, October 30th at 1:30pm, the stage at Creekside will be filled with a choir of Southern Gospel artists and a live band, with Golden State Quartet bringing the Old Time Gospel Sing to life. Special impromptu quartets and trios from the choir will sing Gospel favorites and hymns, filling the hall with the timeless message of the Gospel.

Golden State Quartet began building a reputation of presenting fine Gospel music over 65 years ago and the group continues this tradition today with the release of their latest recording, Look Up. Larry Nardini, group spokesman for Golden State Quartet, says, “It is a great honor to work along with SGNScoops on this project. We are very honored and happy that they have selected us a host group for the Creekside event. We are not only representing ourselves, but most importantly, we are representing God's mission to us to spread the gospel. Although we'll have a great time there, we do take our mission seriously. Our mission is to see that souls will accept God as their savior and then we will have done our mission's work.”

The Old Time Gospel Sing is a first for Creekside, a three-day event sponsored by SGN Scoops and Coastal Media Group. CMG CEO, Rob Patz, has enjoyed working with sponsor Golden State Quartet to put together a presentation guaranteed to entertain and uplift audiences of every age. “Golden State is a quartet that will engage our Creekside attendees and present a professional program suited to all listeners,” says Patz. “I know that folks will laugh and cry as they hear songs they know and love. I’m excited about working with GSQ to present Old Time Gospel Sing and I know this will be a huge draw for Creekside. I’d love to pack the hall for my friends from California!”

About The Promise Trio

For centuries Christians have sung praises to our Heavenly Father at important events. In Luke 2:13-14 we find that they sang praises on the announcement of the birth of Jesus Christ and Matthew records in chapter 26 that the Apostles sang during the last supper. The Promise Trio keeps this tradition alive by singing the praises of our Savior in churches and concerts across the land.
