Blackwood Gospel Quartet Announces Departure of Daniel Childs

Popular Southern Gospel group Blackwood Gospel Quartet regretfully announces that group tenor and grandson of Cecil Blackwood, Daniel Childs, has decided to leave the road due to health reasons.

“Parting is never easy,” responded Mark Blackwood, “especially when it’s family. There was always the possibility of Daniel carrying on the Blackwood heritage into the next generation, and that possibility was just beginning to flourish.”

With the exit of Childs, the Blackwood Gospel Quartet is currently seeking the next great quartet tenor.

“Through the years, we’ve been able to attract accomplished singers like Paul Lancaster, Bryan Hutson, Josh Garner, Dan Keaton, Burman Porter, Jonathan Sawrie and others,” responded Mark Blackwood. “You can come up with whatever reason you want in order to explain that, but the truth is that when you sing with this group, you’ll be taken care of. You become a part of our team, and we have a blast doing what we love.”

Parties interested in auditioning for this popular quartet should send a demo, picture, and bio to the address below or email them to davidmannmusic@gmail.com:
