DMG Concerts Division bursts on to the scene with the announcement of a three-day event for male quartet fans at The Greenbrier Resort
(Hendersonville, TN – August 1, 2014) Daywind Music is excited to announce the birth of a separate division of its operation, Daywind Music Group (DMG) Concerts.
The purpose of the new division is to promote Southern Gospel music through elite concert events.
“Our mission at Daywind is to reach people through great Christian music,” explains Daywind Records vice president and A & R director Scott Godsey. “We have launched DMG Concerts to connect Southern Gospel fans with their favorite artists at unique events. How the music is delivered continues to progressively change due to advancements in technology. We have launched DMG Concerts to deliver music directly to the fans in person. This new division of Daywind Music Group could best be described as a boutique promotions company. We will focus on special, multi-day events and see what doors open for us.”
The first major event for DMG Concerts will be the Greenbrier Quartet Festival, which will be held from March 9-11, 2015, at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. The Greenbrier – which is an award-winning, four-star, luxury resort that is commonly referred to as America’s resort – attempts to combine the graciousness of the past with the exceptional comforts of today.
The Greenbrier Quartet Festival is expected to be an annual event. The 2015 festival will include some of the industry’s elite male quartets, including the Blackwood Brothers, Brian Free and Assurance, Gold City, the Guardians Quartet, the Kingsmen, Legacy Five, Tribute and Triumphant. Bass singer Gene McDonald and tenor singer Jay Parrack will also be performing during the four-session event.
“You don't want to miss this inaugural event,” emphasizes Godsey. “We hope that this will only be the first of many memorable events that DMG Concerts is able to deliver.”
Additional DMG Concerts events will be announced in the near future.
For more information on the Greenbrier Quartet Festival or to order tickets, visit www.dmgconcerts.com or call 1-800-635-9581.

Brian Free and Assurance brings the “Say Amen” story to life
(Hendersonville, TN – July 28, 2014) After the success of their first concept video, Brian Free and Assurance has recently been back behind the camera again, diligently working on the release of the group’s second such effort for the increasingly-popular song “Say Amen.”
“Say Amen” was penned by Kenna West, Jason Cox and Michael Farren, and it’s the first release on the group’s latest project, “Unashamed.” The song has rapidly risen to the No. 2 position on the Singing News Magazine Top 80 Chart in just its fourth month since the song’s release. It debuted at No. 32 before rising to the ninth position in its second month and then elevating to the No. 3 spot for August.
The male quartet previously comprised an award-winning concept video for the 2012 song, “I Want To Be That Man,” which was co-written by Ricky Free and Lee Black.
“Brian Free and Assurance keeps delivering amazing songs on every project,” Daywind Records vice president and A & R director Scott Godsey – who served as the producer and director of the video – explains. “We are thankful for the opportunity to work with these guys on the ‘Say Amen’ video production. Our hope is that this video will go beyond our normal borders and branch out to new media sources. This is without a doubt one of the best songs that I've heard in Southern Gospel Music.”
Brian Free and Assurance is a Daywind Records recording artist, and Daywind held a contest in April that encouraged fans to send in their testimonies, telling what God had done for them to make them “Say Amen.” The winner of the contest was Jim Hutson – a Columbus, Ind., resident – who has part of his story unfold in the video.
Filming for the video took place in the Gallatin and Hendersonville areas, which are suburbs of Nashville, Tenn.
“We had an amazing time recording the new video,” points out Brian Free, the group’s manager and tenor singer.
When you watch the video or hear this song, just think about all of the things God has done in your life.”

Daywind Writer, Dianne Wilkinson, Tops the Charts For the 2nd Consecutive Month
Hendersonville,
TN – Daywind songwriter, Dianne Wilkinson, recently
had the honor of watching two of her songs ascend to the top of the
Singing News Charts.
“Peter, James and John,” sung by Gold City, reached the #1
position for the month of March, with the Kingdom Heir’s “Tell Me Why”
landing in the #2 spot: something Ms. Wilkinson had not experience in 40
years of writing.
“I didn’t know if ‘Tell Me Why’ would hit the top spot, but it
did the next month, and I had never had that happen, either” shares the
award-winning songwriter.
The song, “Peter, James and
John,” centers on the night after the Last Supper, and the thoughts and
actions of Jesus, Judas, Peter, James, and John.
As soon as the demo was completed, Daywind’s Vice President of
Music Publishing, Rick Shelton, delivered the song to Gold City, in
hopes that the solid lyric with a country gospel feel would find a place
on their newest recording.
To Dianne’s surprise, not only did it find a place on the CD, but it also became their first single.
“They did a spectacular job on their recording of it,” Dianne
says of the song. “And I was so happy to see it go to #1! It had extra
special meaning to me because I had not had a #1 song on them since ‘He
Said’ back in 2000.
It’s very gratifying that people have identified with this deeply doctrinal song that also has a nice ‘Gold City groove’.”
“Tell Me Why” tells the
story of an unsaved man asking questions of his Christian friend, which
leads to his acceptance of Christ.
Feeling as though the song fit the Kingdom Heirs exactly, the song was sent to them and put on hold for their CD,
We Will Stand Our Ground.
The song became their first radio single as well, and landed in the #1 spot for the month of April.
“All I can say is that God will still bless and use his children in their later years,” comments Dianne.
“I’m humbly thankful that He is still allowing me to experience
the joy of writing Gospel songs and that there are still groups who get
the message I want to share out there to the people!”
“From the Cathedrals hit,
‘Boundless Love,’ her first #1, to ‘Peter, James and John’ and ‘Tell Me
Why,’ Dianne Wilkinson’s songs are woven into the fabric of Southern
Gospel music,” adds Rick Shelton.
“Because of songs, like these, that are simply prone to four-part
harmony singing, she has been affectionately dubbed ‘The Queen of
Quartet Music.’
The exceptional quality of her writing consistently conveys truths from the Word and encouragement for the saints.
Dianne is a well-loved member of the Daywind family and we couldn’t be more thrilled for her success!”
