Back Home Releases New Song To Radio

Nashville, TN (September 19, 2013) Award nominated family group, Back Home, is releasing a new song to radio that they are extremely excited about.
Penned by renowned songwriters Sue Smith and Don Poythress, “Heavy End Of the Cross” is destined to be another chart topper for this quickly rising Country/Gospel group. Radio seems to really like the Country sound of Back Home so this song should be quickly accepted and move right up the charts.
Songwriter of the Year winner, Sue Smith, stated “My son-in-law (worship pastor in Texas) sent me a quote from the great preacher Charles Spurgeon. It is from his last sermon, which was given to a crowd of young preachers. It moved me deeply, and I knew that I wanted to write a song about the section that begins with "He is always to be found in the thickest part of the battle..." I was blessed that soon after that, I was scheduled to write with Don Poythress, who loved the idea.”
Co-writer Don Poythress said “Back Home has a ministry that touches people, heals and encourages them. I pray "The Heavy End Of The Cross" will bless many.”
During the National Quartet Convention, Back Home was chosen as the winner of their Showcase and got to sing on the main stage on Thursday night. Back Home made quite a buzz during this week. Someone mentioned after their performance that Back Home is the New Little Big Town and Lady Antebellum of SG Music.
