Nashville, TN (November 14, 2013) History was made on June 19, 2012 when the Southern Baptist Convention elected their first African American President, Dr. Fred Luter. History was also made earlier this month when Dr Luter commented that he is a fan Three Bridges.
Dr. Luter is pastor of Franklin Avenue Baptist church in New Orleans, LA. He grew the church from a remnant 65 people in a white-flight neighborhood to a congregation of more than 8,000. Franklin Avenue is now approaching 5,000 worshipers each Sunday despite the depressed population of the city.
Earlier this month Three Bridges sang to the Louisiana SBC Pastors and church leaders. To the delight of Three Bridges members Elliott McCoy, Shannon Smith, and Jeremie Hudson, Dr. Fred Luter, SBC President commented "I love Three Bridges! I'm their #1 fan!".
Elliott McCoy, manager and Baritone singer stated "What an honor to minister to the Pastors and church leaders of the SBC in Louisiana. They are making a great impact for Christ. It was also a great privilege to be with Dr. Fred Luter and his precious wife, Elizabeth, again! We love them dearly!"
This has been an exciting month for Three Bridges. Lead singer Shannon Smith said “In the space of one month we have ministered at the Tennessee Assemblies of God Pastor's Convention, been featured in the Church of God (Cleveland) Evangel magazine, and now ministered at this convention.”

Three Bridges’ Lead Singer, Shannon Smith, Graduates From Ohio Christian University
Nashville, TN (August 8, 2013) Nothing spells success like never quitting. That is exactly the way Three Bridges Lead singer, Shannon Smith feels. Graduating Summa Cum Laude on June 30, 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Music and Leadership. Shannon has done what few people ever accomplish. He went back to school..... and finished.
Three Bridges, Baritone and Manager, Elliott McCoy said “I'm beginning to feel like the low man on the totem pole in my own group. We are very proud of what Shannon has achieved. I know it wasn't easy for him, because we watched him put in long hours studying on the bus, and still be prepared to hit the stage running night after night.”
Smith said, “I attended a Bible college straight out of high school and then completed most of the work for a Vocal Performance degree at the University of South Carolina from 1987 – 1990. Then my son came along a bit earlier than planned and I never found the time or opportunity to finish my degree. A couple of years ago, I saw an opportunity to finish my degree at OCU through their online program and I knew it was God’s time. It only took me 29 years to get my degree but at least I’m finished before my kids!”
Three Bridges is an Award winning group that transcends age and genres to share the Gospel with all who will listen.

“Forgive Myself” Finds Place on Industry Charts and In the Hearts of Listeners
Franklin, TN (February 7th 2013) – Mansion Entertainment, label home to Grammy nominated and Dove Award winning Gospel artists, has enough experience to know when a song begins to take on a life and persona of its own. Three Bridges newest single “Forgive Myself”, off their latest album Twelve, is just such a song.
Twelve has been an important number for Three Bridges – Twelve is the title of their newest project, it describes the number of songs on the album, their number of years in ministry, and the number of studio albums they have recorded. At a time when the music industry struggles creatively to capture audiences, Three Bridges has released one of its strongest and most powerful singles, “Forgive Myself”.
“Forgive Myself” written by John Lemonis and Amy Keffer, stresses the importance of learning to forgive yourself of past sins just as Jesus does. This strong message hits home with the very foundation of the Church and has resonated in the hearts of concertgoers and followers of social media.
Shannon Smith, who sings lead on “Forgive Myself”, stated that “When we perform this song people are obviously moved by it – you can almost see a healing take place. It’s amazing to see what God to do through a three or four minute song.”
Shelia Harper, founder of SaveOne Ministry, states, “Forgive Myself is quickly becoming the theme song for our ministry, SaveOne. We are an abortion recovery ministry and the line, ‘Mercy has no memory, grace has no regret’ speaks to the very heart of what we’re about…forgiving ourselves through accepting Jesus’ mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Thank you to Three Bridges for sharing this song with the world!”
One fan on social media said that the song “Greatly blessed me. I have struggled my entire life to forgive myself…” Another fan said, “Moving on from the past and learning forgive yourself of past mistakes is something that everyone struggles with and is relatable to so many.”
“Forgive Myself” debuted on the Singing News Top 80 Chart for March and has already achieved success on other industry charts. As the popularity and exposure of the song grows, so does the feedback from fans who hear it.

Three Bridges Names Shannon Smith New Lead Singer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Celebrated trio and Homeland Entertainment recording artist Three Bridges is proud to announce the addition of Shannon Smith to the group. Smith, who joins the group immediately, will assume the position of lead singer for the exciting trio.
Shannon Smith is no stranger to the Gospel music stage. Smith was the lead vocalist for Grammy Award-winning and GMA Hall of Fame Inductees The Imperials for many years. During his tenure with The Imperials, Smith was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year in the 2008 SGN Music Awards and was a part of the Album of the Year winning Back to the Roots project. Shannon also had a successful solo ministry for many years and has served as a Pastor. He most recently was a worship leader at a church in North Miami, Florida.
"When I left the road 2 years ago, I really needed some time to get away and just focus on the Lord, His Word and my family,” mentioned Shannon. “Our time in the Miami area accomplished just that - it was almost like a sabbatical. We have prayed over this decision for several months, and I am filled with excitement and expectation as I join Elliott McCoy and Three Bridges. I look forward to helping Three Bridges continue to share the goodness and love of Jesus in every way possible."
Smith is replacing Scott Johnson as the lead singer for the popular trio. Johnson is leaving the road due to health reasons.
Elliott McCoy of Three Bridges said, “Scott was a fantastic addition to our group, and we were saddened when he had to leave the group. However, we knew that God sent us Scott, and God would send us a replacement for him as well. Shannon is one of the most talented vocalists I have ever heard. He adds his own unique flair to these songs, and we can not wait for our friends to get to know him and his family.”
Three Bridges recently scored their latest Top 10 hit according to the April 2010 issue of the Singing News Top 80 chart. “It Took His Breath Away,” from the Homeland Records release Another Blessing, currently sits at #10 this month. The song has also been a regular fixture on the AbsolutelyGospel.com (formerly SoGospelNews.com) Top 40 Weekly Chart, Christian Voice Magazine Top 100, SouthernGospelTimes.com Top 40 Fan Chart, and other charts.
For more information on Three Bridges, visit them on the web at http://www.threebridges.net or http://www.homelandentertainmentgroup.com .
