Gold City News

From Gold City's Email Newsletter September 26, 2012

WOW!! It’s been a busy two weeks on the Gold City bus. We have a lot to catch up on. We’ve been in Canada, New York, and of course Kentucky for the great National Quartet Convention. And what an awesome week it was at NQC! We were privileged to sing three times on the main stage, in addition to several other activities during the week. Wednesday night was All-Quartet Night and Gold City was honored to sing your fan-voted favorites!! It is no surprise that our signature song, Midnight Cry, was the most chosen, even after 25 years. And if that weren’t enough, we were honored on the main stage for having number one songs in each of the past four decades. We were presented a plaque for that, as well as one for commemorating the 25th anniversary of the recording of Midnight Cry. Aside from the stage, we had so much fun meeting all of you who came by the table. Your support means everything to us! After convention, we headed off for a Sunday morning in Signal Mountain, TN before making our way back home for a much needed rest. This past weekend found us in Georgia for two great concerts. We may be partial, but we think Gold City fans are the best fans of any group anywhere, and you continue to prove that by coming out to see us. Thank you so much for supporting and being a part of what we do.

Our last single release, Lord of Life, is perched at number 2 on the Singing News Radio Chart. We are so thrilled! Thank you to everyone who calls and requests this life-changing song. Keep requesting it at your local radio station. We will be following up Lord of Life with our next single, I Get Down.

This Sunday our tenor singer will add another candle on his birthday cake. Dan Keeton will celebrate his 44th birthday this weekend. Happy birthday, Dan!!

We’re going cruising in January. Come be a part of a wonderful week January 20-27, 2013 as we sail to Cozumel, Grand Caymen, and Jamaica. Our website has a link to all the details, so go to and click on the logo, then make your plans to sail with us!

Our legendary bass singer, Tim Riley, has a CD called "A Lifetime of Treasures." Each song was hand-picked by Tim from the many songs he has recorded over the past 45 years and includes 12 of his favorites. Shop our online store by visiting our website to purchase this incredible compilation.

We have so many great dates coming up in the near future! If you read our monthly Singing News article, you know we’re headed to Tony Gore’s Smoky Mountain BBQ restaurant again, and we’re also headed to sing in a cave! Meramec Caverns, that is, where we will be the guests of our host group, The Lesters. And we can’t forget the great folks at Gospel Barn in Bluffton, IN. We hope you will check our schedule, find a date, and come see us in concert soon!

Gold City and our buddies, the Kingsmen will be in concert in Weogufka, AL at The Weogufka Center on Saturday, October 6th at 6:30 p.m. There's no telling what may happen when we all get together. Make plans to attend! For more information, go to
