Daywind Music Publishing Celebrates Big Success During 2010 Dove Week

Daywind receives multiple BMI Awards and takes home a Dove

Nashville, Tenn. (April 29, 2010) – Last Tuesday and Wednesday were big days for Daywind Music Publishing as they celebrated BMI Awards and garnered a Dove Award for Bluegrass Recorded Song Of The Year “When We Fly” written by Ty Herndon, Joel Lindsey, and Wayne Haun.

At a wonderful celebration dinner held in the stunning lobby of the BMI building on Music Row in Nashville, BMI recognized top airplay for songs “What Salvation’s Done For Me” (recorded by the Booth Brothers and written by Dianne Wilkinson and Rusty Golden), “Whispered Prayers” (recorded by Karen Peck & New River and written by Jeff Steele and Earl Galloway), and “You Can’t Take My Crown” (recorded by Ivan Parker and written by Gina Vera).

Rick Shelton, Director of Publishing at Daywind Music, expresses, "Daywind Music Publishing is privileged to serve the 2010 BMI award winning songwriters who were recognized for the most performed songs on Southern Gospel Radio. We are proud of these writers and this tremendous achievement. We are also incredibly honored to have participated in the development of the Dove award winning Bluegrass song, ‘When We Fly.’ Within it is the message of hope when our faith finally becomes sight. A well-deserved congratulation is due to those who so skillfully crafted this fine composition. Our hearts are full of gratitude to membership of the Gospel Music Association for this award.”

The 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards were held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry House and were televised nationwide on the Gospel Music Channel (gmclife.com), last Sunday evening, April 25, 2010.
